Yeah that’s a big negative for me and I’m sure many others. I never bought a Lexus because of their dumb mousepad and now Acura is doing a different version of that. Stick to the Rotary knob or touchscreen.

I just mine.. a MDX Advance model. Traded my 2019 MDX on a early lease termination. It is Dynamic car, the redesign is head over heels over the 2019. In addition, compared to it's competitors , fully loaded as the Advance , is a very real Value. Thousands of $$$$ less than X5 , Q7, XC90, GV80..... on another note about this SUV drive modes..... select Sport Dynamic Mode, and Select DS for the tranny, and you will See What This Car Can Do !! Honda brands are not what it used to be. My 2014 Acura breaks down on a yearly basis. Spending thousands of dollars every year. Acura is no longer made in Japan. Instead they are made in Canada and they became trash. You people have been warned. Good luck with your new Acura. Hope you have a lot of money to fix it every year.
@@PHMU Right...well, I'm a Honda tech, and I concur that they aren't what they used to be. But at the same time, these cars have MUCH MORE tech in them than Hondas and Acuras of the past...the more tech you put in a car, they more it will need to be serviced, regardless of whether or not it was assembled in Japan.

I have had my advanced since February 20th. Since I’m very familiar with several other mid-sized SUV’s, I’ll give my critique: MDX is fairly noisy at highway speeds far noisier than X-5 or GV80. Actually, my dad was commenting how loud the cabin was at high speeds compared to his Lexus SUV. The implementation of the secondary screen is quite poor. Actually, the control unit for the cars head unit can only operate one independent function at a time. You notice how lacking the vehicle is when you are in navigation mode and the secondary screen which you cannot collapse for more main screen space, does nothing but show time or fixed arrows if using Apple Maps (which is terrible on this vehicle). The screen cannot act as a music control nor will it act as a camera screen like it does in every other vehicle in its class(in navigation mode) If using the camera system you lose the map altogether. Poor implementation. There’s no lane-change assist, no driver assist and no competent vehicle autonomy system other than the most basic lane keep assist available for over a decade in higher marquees. Actually the MDX is the WORST vehicle in its class in this regard. Here’s the big one, gas mileage is atrocious. It’s shockingly bad. I’m averaging 14.6 city and just over 20 highway. I’m at 3000 miles (I drove to Naples Florida).
@@Ipackwood69 I cannot recommend a vehicle that had not had a thought out head unit setup that actually functions in all settings properly. Not at these price points. You won’t believe how poor the gas mileage is.

Went for a test drive last week. Liked the new interior. Drive is ok but not what I would expect from a 55k+ car. Slow acceleration from stop, too many upshifts with the 10speed and not much pickup. The handling is pretty good but the steering wheel is light and doesn't feel connected to the road.
