Sam Rayburn Summertime Fishing 2024

- I had an amazing day on Sam Rayburn back in July!
On this trip I'm fishing the lower end of the lake. I launched at the public ramp on the south end and I fished from around there to the dam.
Majority of the bass i caught came dirt shallow. This was one of the better days that I've had during the summer and this video is a perfect example of what you can catch on the south end of the lake when it's on!
Typically you don't get mega bags down on this end but it's not impossible. The best summer day I've ever had in this area was on frogs one summer.
My best two baits was a KVD splash in a sexy shad color and a redbug wacky worm
Hope you guys and gals enjoy this video!
Comment below your favorite catch in the video!

Lance Great Video!
Thanks bud! I appreciate it. I would have replied sooner but for whatever reason YT held it for my review. Weird lol
Good stuff Lance! Enjoyed the video.
Thanks bud! Appreciate it.
Loved you catching them at the boat ramp...saves you gas and makes the other anglers wonder what you are doing. lol
Oh yeah!!! That’s definitely the best part. Not one person fished it the entire time I was in there 😂 now only if it can be this easy when it’s during one of my tournaments. lol.
Good stuff man
Thanks bud
Where did you launch bro? Nice video!
Thanks bud. That’s the Humphrey/public ramp on the south end of the lake.
@@lanceduff thank you! I’ll go there next time!
@DanrodFishing sounds good. Let me know how you do.
Great video. I bet the folks launching there boat was thinking what is this guy doing fishing here lol, then you lay into good one!! Keep putting out material bud we appreciate them all!!
@@bobourgeois4932 hahah you know it! Thanks bud i definitely will. Here soon I should have a new computer and will be able to kick out a pile of new videos.
Lots of patience with them dang jet skiers...i know they don't bother the fish but it does screw up the serenity of the day.
@@darryldavenport1158 you got that right! That one was getting on my nerves. He would run out the cove maybe 500 yards and come back then do it again. It was to the annoying point lol
Great trip Lance! Nailed it!
Thanks bud! It was a good day.
Hey brother I moved out here a few months ago, been tackling the smaller lakes, ie naconiche, Nacogdoches, Kurth, but I think I’m ready to hit Sam Rayburn now. Any tips you could give me on it? Would be launching from south end.
I’ll actually launching north of 107.
I don’t have the live scope but I have a couple depth finder loweance hook to 9’s on my skeeter. Little lakes aren’t producing as many fish as they were right after all the rain.
@@NathynChasteen nice. Welcome to the area. You definitely should and you’re in luck. On my channel I have a playlist called “The best baits to throw on Sam Rayburn” It’s decades of experience put in to just a few minutes that will take a lot of the guess work out of what to use on Rayburn.
Also coming soon…
I am currently working on an insider map. It’s not going to be cheap but it will be EVERYTHING I know about that lake on where to go and when. There will be only a limited amount of them available because I don’t want everyone to have the secrets. It will be out probably by winter.
@@NathynChasteen on the north end of the lake the shallow fishing is so much better than the southern end
I will NEED that insider map!!! Let me know as soon as it comes out. I’ll be launching off the 107 in a couple weeks. I’ll definitely watch your video and see if I can get on a few when I go out there!!! Looking forward to speaking with you!! Where should I run to after I launch? Or should I just start throwing
@NathynChasteen you got it! It’s will be 100 years worth of experience on it. That’s a fact. It’s going to upset a lot of locals. I’ll put you down for one. Do you have Facebook or Instagram where I can get your contact information? Good deal!!!! Just start throwing. They’ll let you know fairly quickly if they’re there. Also we’re getting to the fun topwater months of the year. This is gonna sound crazy but look for seagulls and birds diving on the water. They’ll give the schoolers away. I’ve got a couple of videos where I wrecked them on a topwater. Most of the time those fish are around the Black Forest, caney flats, bird island flats, need more, farmers and the canyon flats.
Good job bro never had any luck any that lake.
Thanks bud! I fish it very simple.
Wanted to have a no electronics tournament. Just hard to figure out the rules. People say they still need the graph to navigate
That would have been fun. I can get it from the map part but when I grew up on Rayburn all we had was a flasher 😆 I had to line up trees and landmarks to navigate. It’s not as bad like it used to be. A whole lot less trees now.
@lanceduff ha! Ive done my share of triangulation of landmarks for spots
@@scottluft3415 haha yes sir
What happened to Mickey ?? Miss seeing the pooch😂
@@fishingwithbillysims1306 he’s still here. He can’t handle the summer heat. Poor guy has a super thick coat and it absorbs all of that 100 degree heat lol I’m hoping by October I can start him back again.
@@lanceduff glad to hear it I lost my fishing pooch a year ago and haven't been able to replace her yet. Mickey reminds me of her when a fish rolls up on the surface
@@fishingwithbillysims1306 awe man I’m sorry to hear that. I’m gonna be a mess when Mickey goes. He’s been a lot of fun. I’m hoping he has a few more good years in him. I’m hoping by the end of September he can start going with me again.
Mine kind of fishing...I would be curious on how many people could actually catch fish without all the electronics
Same for me! You’d be surprised how many guys would disappear. I’d love to see the pros not be able to use live sonar during the actual tournaments.
@@lanceduff some guys have more money in electronics than I have in boat
@@Allen-bt9hr you got that right! I ain’t gonna be one of those guys who has 40k plus in electronics unless a sponsor is providing it.
