- Опубликовано: 28 сен 2024
- The legendary metal guitarist Dimebag Darrell personally shares a free lesson on how to play "Save Me" (riff, solo, and outro), straight from Dimebag Darrell's Riffer Madness DVD (item#: 00-35005).
The riffs and patterns made famous by Dime, founding member of Pantera and Damageplan, are all captured in this special tribute DVD, including special features:
• Two extensive "Lost Lessons" taught by Dimebag himself
• Interview with Dime's wife Rita Haney
• A "Dime Tribute" performance featuring Nick Bowcott
• And much more!
This long-awaited DVD tribute to the godfather of modern metal is finally here. Based on Dime's best-selling instructional book, Riffer Madness, this DVD is hosted by Dime's co-writer, good friend, and protege, metal maestro Nick Bowcott. It features long lost one-on-one special footage of Dime teaching some of his most classic licks. Nick Bowcott helps pass Dime's torch to the next generation. He takes 97 of Dime's critical riffs and patterns and uses them as a jumping-off point to help young guitarists play their favorite guitar parts and, more importantly, understand the creativity, attitude, feeling, and intention underlying each pattern. Nick also covers killer rhythm guitar, power grooves and pick squeals, psychotic syncopation, holes of silence, chromatics, diabolical dyads, and much more! The DVD includes printable PDF TAB, an exclusive interview with Dime's wife, Rita Haney, and two long lost lessons filmed by Dime.
"Whether you are a beginner or technically advanced in metal guitar playing, or even consider yourself a Pantera guitar expert, there is something to learn for everyone here. This release is highly recommended."

@@rickjames6867 they will all be forgotten in 50 years time.
Ain't no doubt about that brother
@@AGHORNATH18 Yeah, like Wolfgang what’s-his-name-again and that dude Ludwig van-something.
@@doh4828 comparing Classical composers to shit pop rock is dumb. Maybe compare them to 1950s acts who were popular whom you have never heard of.
@@rickjames6867 I do not think anyone will be coming back in 50 years. The future is very bleak.
Dime was one of the most cool and chilled out dudes to ever walk the face of this planet. To this day, I still don't understand how or why anyone would have ever wanted to take his life. I miss him.
I do too but at this point I'm pretty sure the alcohol would have taken him by now like it did Vinnie. No regular alcoholic can understand the endless money and availability that came with being a rock star. It's sad but unfortunately we will never know. I think a Pantera reunion would have happened at the very least.
@@SUNIKIGAMING thats true too😭But we miss him right??
A insane fan shoot dimebag darrel and instant killed him
First time watching him the main thing i notice is how incredibly relaxed he is
@VVoOꟻF yeah but Slash is still alive as is there drummer.
He was probably the most straight up kinda guy out there. Would've loved to just hang out, drink, and jam with ol dimebag... R.I.P. Brotha....
I,got to do just that, hang out, drink 🍻 and jam in the 80's and 90's we had a lot of fun times!!!***
Amen
Might still get that chance ...in the great beyond
Met dime, Phil and rex. Phil and rex was looking 4 smoke Dime was lightening fireworks off or drinking black tooths grins but we had one fucking badass time that summer of 92 in Huntington West Virginia !! Some of my best pantera memories you rest easy brother was taking way to soon !!
Dimebag is the first in the world that started with guitar tutorials, and vlogs too !! He has several vlogs, he loved recording himself. He would have been a great youtuber, without a doubt. Rest in peace the brothers
Ooh def.
I think even Nick Menza would have too. The whole Menza vault is filled with his time in Megadeth.
I got a Dimebag pick from pantera's last tour and I have it in a safe place because, to me and my nephew, it's a jewel. A"diamond"of Darrells.
You're a true fan if you know he was diamond Darrel before dimebag
I have his pick with razor slashes in it from a show in 1993 in the U.K
@@mojopin70 ha! I saw that tour(London Kentish town)... UNBELIEVABLE.
@@theimmortalsleazus8057 no, you need to know a lot more, that's just the surface
I see what you did there. Lolol
I still can't believe he was murdered. I am thankful that I got to see him play live a bunch of times. Rip Dime.
I've heard that the government did it.
@@Sanctus_Manifesto I'm sure. I think he actually died from Covid.
@@bufordteejustice1119 he died on the same day as John Lennon by a government employee who never really existed. Trust me they do this Randy Quaid said this and also Heath ledger's widow. @@Sanctus_Manifesto no thanks. No shots for me.
@@bufordteejustice1119 trust me, there's something there. Absolutely all the members of the 27th club were murdered.
His tone sounds so mean and gnarly here, even with just a random cam mic with his home setup. God damn. RIP to the legend. I still miss him.
I can smell the whiskey from here.... fifteen years later in a different continent.
...and it smells lovely. May he jam forever now with his brother.
Yea man! And more other stuff, if you know what I mean🤘Hell Yea !
Im now drunk and i havent drank
Smells like Bulleit
@@freedomflagco824 fart smells bro🤣🤣
I had the pleasure of seeing Pantera 5 different times back in the day. Although I'm a drummer, I was watching Dime 90% of the time during the show. He was just mesmerizing and so fun to watch. He's by far my all time favorite guitar player.
16 long fucking years without you Dime, goddamn! Wish you could still be here.
You are the whole reason I ever wanted to play a guitar R.I.P.
R.I.P. Dimebag 1966-2004
Man, dime poured his heart and soul into his music, and he carried such appreciation for for his fans. How many guitar players do you see make these lessons? We miss you dime, your music will forever live on brother \m/
Many have tried to replicate this tone , many have failed.
No mids full treble and bass
I've replicated this tone almost perfectly
It's really not too difficult if you know your way around your gear.
Ola englund has done a pretty good job replicating the tone.
@@Kadoogan83 damn straight

There is something in his playing that make him FREAKING ABOVE EVERYONE ELSE
that riff it's powerful; save me. miss ya' dude.
knew these guys since i was a fellow 19yr old kid. have shared some of my coolest yrs on this planet with him not too far away. they broke the mold.
DimeBag Darrell if you were still alive and watching this your were amazing.
Dimebag style is like no other.R.I.P.
Beyond thankful I grew up in their era, man their music changed and helped shape my life in ways I can’t even imagine! Dime was and still is one of the greatest role models out there, a beast behind the strings and a gentle giant everywhere else! CFH for life 🤘🏻
semi-gayidity is my new favorite expression
I heard it right then... 😆
I was like TF he just say 😂
Imma use this all the time now.. 😂😂
Semi gay ENTITY. I Left the South ages ago when I was young but I still understand 🤣
Dimebonics
Am i the only one that..
Gets a tear or two when watchin this...RIP
I do brother.....black tooth grin!!!
I can barely listen to Pantera anymore without tearing up. Partly because I miss them so much, and partly because the music is so good it makes me want to scream at the sky! Tears of anger, rage, and sadness...
I saw Pantera and White Zombie live in 96 when I was 15 years completely blown away by Dimes Guitar playing
@@MaxWhiteArabiLouisiana yes July 30 1996 Morrison Colorado
Saw that same tour at the old Continental Airlines Arena in NJ back in ‘96. Had just graduated high school. Man those were the days.
Miss this dude so much. The 2000's were so lacking without this guy shredding.
He was so awesome....great shout out to Kings-X as well.
IM back again..I always feel like a friend is talking to me just hanging out and jamming when I watch dimes videos, these are priceless
Guitar God right there. R.I.P. Dimebag
An incredible dude! The metal world lost one of its masters that day.
Dimebag was amazing. RIP Dimebag🌹

Best guitarist ever
We miss you man!
Такой гитарист один раз в 100 лет рождается
It always makes me so happy to see him do his thing . Has been a definite influence on me as a guitarist .
HAHA
"I love playin in E;
love playin in F#;
F: everything looks too [confusing]"
+TheManwithafan I totally understand what he means by playing in F cause it does look weird when you play on those frets. So I totally get what he's talking about. And it's definitely gayidity....lol
downfan1 gayidity? xD what haha
***** That's what Dime says semi-gayidity....lol make no sense? Of course it don't, Dimebonics....lol
Gayidity.. I'd you don't get it you're probably suffering from it

Still the best metal guitarist there ever was Dime FOREVER!!!!
I remember buying this issue in 2006 and it was like finding gold. Still a great lesson
One of the best videos I've seen in a long time
Yet again I have tingles listening to this great man. Thanks for the music Dime.
His tone is unmatched I swear to god
One of my favorite people who ever lived!
i got this video as a dvd with a Total Guitar mag back in the 90s. watched it so many times :)
"The little amp aint givin you the full ballz" he loved it chunky and loud AF..RiParadise my brother's 🔥🔥
Damn I wish he was still here with us! Miss you Brother Dime!
Hurts too much to watch this. RIP dime
That guy is a monster
Dime editing was on point also
So sick master
I wish I could picture the fretboard through his eyes. Gotta hold and play that instrument, learn the notes just like the letters on your keyboard or phone when texting.
He knew his shit but at the same time he also had a surprisingly simplistic, almost childlike naïveté to the way he understood and articulated things (in a cool good way); he knew enough theory to be able to communicate and to write interesting shit but he didn’t allow the technical side to take over - he maintained a youthful enthusiasm and developed his own shorthand and terminology that worked for him and it changed the face of music. RIP one of the realest dudes to ever set soles of a pair of hi top Chucks on the pavement
@@TheEnderBand Yes, exactly. Music theory is a tool, not a map with predetermined destinations. I like your understanding. We agree. Words are funny. Semantics are as well. "Play!"
DimebaG was the greatest guitar teacher.
I always love hearing a legend play with that practice amp sound.....it drives home that what you really hear when they played live or on the albums is hours and hours practice, good technique, and creativity.....not just buying a bunch of gear to find the perfect guitar tone....which I am guilty of🙄
Best guitar lesson
Dime's "slowed down" version of the solo.. lol.
Lol when I was watching me and Dimebag burped at the same time hahahahaha
we miss you, Dime
I swear if he was still alive I would place his skill even higher than that of even joe satriani. We definitely lost an absolute guitar god way too young! Imagine what he could have came up with being in damageplan!
I think pantera would have got back together if he lived.
@Belial 777 patrick wasnt that bad it was decent but he aint phil lol
Pride is an incredible track, sounds absolutely massive
His ability to write and play was otherworldly. Satriani ability to play is unequaled. His ability to write songs is crap. Kinda like Malmsteen or Batio.
@@totc6196 Easily yes... being healthy and alive with passion can heal damn near any rift :-) Phil really was messed up for years though.. so minimum you get damageplan 2, 3 and probably 4 ........ but the amazing thing.. would of been launching the 'Abbott Brothers' RUclips channel taking off.. Twitch... play alongs with fans.. my goodness.
O guitarrista mais foda da história do metal na minha opinião. Diamond Darrel!
Legendary upload to say the very least.
Dime doing RUclips before it existed.
How are their 12 dislikes? Did 12 Brittney Spears fans come here thinking this was a head shaving video?

Guitar god !! RIP dimebag
How clean he makes the guitar play with that tone :D
What a real beauty!!
Got the cd of this lesson
Came in a guitar world magazine
Getcha pull brother!!!!!
3:47: "That's just a real King's X chunk right there." He said that like he expected everyone to know about the great - misunderstood - King's X.
What a sick room.
i would give anything to have this genius of a man teach me how to play guitar.
I gave my son the middle name Abbott after this great man! RIP Dimebag
Never thought anyone could make music theory so badass
It's amazing how many people think that guys like Dimebag didn't know much about music or reading it but that's not the case at all. You have to understand it.
The one and only...
He became immortal already was a legend before that day
oh yeah Dime's, thanks to played it slowly the second time, really helped me x)
Miss you....
..the Old King's X chug sound..classic!
the KINGS X chug!!!! i fucking love Dimebag more every video i see of him. party on in heaven with your bro!!
THE BEST EVER! HANDS DOWN THE GUITAR GOD OF ALL METAL! JUST WATCHING THIS IS A COMPLETE HONOR!
He was amazing
Damageplan.... hellyeah!
18 лет как его нет,время бежит быстро!
RIP Dime love ya bud
Man this makes me so mad, I miss him so much, there’s not a day that goes by without me thinking about him at least once, I really can’t understand how someone could harm such a beautiful human being and take him away from us forever.. that’s so unfair. I’d trade the whole world to have him back, he deserved to have a beautiful long life.
real guitarist sit back and take note this is as close as it gets to sitting down with him and watching his hands. There's your tabs.
Simply the best ever
This ain't no lesson its "hey watch me play our riffs and solos without the accompaniment from the rest of the band" hahaha even the so called slowed down parts are not slowed down at all, but it's Dimebag Darrell so it's all fucking good(May he forever rest in absolute peace, love, and utopia cuz boy was he one hell of an awesome and wholesome human being )
outro 1, 2 & fast fast is actually best i feel, def good shit, love ya dime
Thank you
This world is fucking far less cool without Dime! FACT! I love whiskey and I fucking love Pantera! Dime was a guitar god no doubt! Tightest metal band ever in my humble opinion and I've been playing since I was a kid and have always looked to dime for the level I've always wanted to achieve...maybe not the most virtuoso player out there...but fuck his groove and ability is undeniable!
He could make any amp sound good
the best, diamond
It's hard to imagine how much this man would have done and contributed to music if he hadn't been killed so senselessly. Rest in power brother Dime. I know you and Vinny are jamming on the other side.
Share this on Facebook, Twitter, even if you're shitty enough to use it Google Plus or whatever sharing site you have! get this video some fucking views, let's blow this shit up! R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell
