A fantastic tent as I have had mine for over 2 years now.
We're big fans of the Abisko Lite 1. Glad to hear you're enjoying yours.
I’ve just bought 1 of theses tents from yourselves. Really looking forward to get g out. I had a great services from the team at Trekitt. Thanks very much
Hi Tony, thanks for your purchase and it's good to hear you received excellent service. Paul.

Thanks for your kind comments, we aim to please. Paul.
Just ordered this in sand colour of Trekitt can't wait to see it.
Thanks for watching and for your order, I hope you and your Abisko Lite have many great adventures. Paul.
Excellent review. Thanks...Like your term, "sensible weight". A shame more people don't understand what this means.
Just bought one when you got some stock in on Wed. Very happy, cracking tent. Great review.
Thank you! I hope you have some great adventures together. Paul.
Thanks for the great review. Just ordered one of these tents from you - glad you have got them back in stock and can not wait to take it exploring!
Thanks for the support! Great choice. Harry
I bought an ME jacket from Trekitt recently. Excellent service and I'm very pleased with the jacket. I will be buying more kit from you guys. :) Simon
Thanks Simon, M.E do make some brilliant kit! Harry
Fantastic review & really well presented, brilliant, i need one of these!
Nice video.
You sound like phill collins in the 90s👍👍
😂
well explained and super informative going bought one so excited .
Thanks very much! Enjoy your new tent. Harry
Quite awesome, very small packing volume and great ventilation.
But I think non self-supporting tents are still not very friendly to cyclist. I wonder if Fjallraven will make a single person dome tent, Abisko Dome 1 or Abisko View 1?🙄
You're right, Fjallraven don't currently produce a cycle-friendly self supporting tent, however MSR do! If you haven't seen it already, the Hubba Tour 1 is specifically designed for cycle touring. You can find it here: www.trekitt.co.uk/34292/products/msr-hubba-tour-1-tent-green.aspx
Just got this from you guys thank you!
No; thank you!
Hi guy's great review I'm still waiting to hear if you guy's have this tent in stock ,best wishes Mike
Thanks for your comments and for watching, we are still trying to get stock out of Fjallraven. You can initiate a back in stock request by entering your email on the product page by clicking the "NOTIFY" button. Paul.
Have to say this looks a great tent. In many ways very similar to the Akto but cheaper. Too much kit to choose from!
It is indeed very similar to the Akto and because Fjallraven are a much larger company than Hilleberg, they can make it better value too. Thanks for watching.
Superb review ,very impressed with the quality ,do you guys still stock this ? Can I get it on line from you ? Many thanks for your time Mike Fletcher
Hi Mike, we still stock the Abisko Lite 1 in both Pine Green and Sand, however we're currently out of stock. If you follow the link below and click 'notify me', you can get an email once it's back in stock. Kind regards, Harry.

How tall are you? 😂
I think this is the tent I'll be saving for... I am more inclined towards free standing but this tent has a lot of winning points for me... Weight, pack size, quality etc... And this may sound silly but it matters to me.. The fact it comes in that sky blue colour is a real bonus for me 😂
Most of my wild camping is done next to or near the sea and I've always wanted a wee blue house by the sea 😊
Paul is 6ft 3". It's a brilliant option and the UN Colour does look great in person. Kind regards, Harry.
Any chance you'll make a video about Fjällräven Abisko Shape 2? 😊
Request noted - we'll see what we can do!
An amazing video. Thank you. I think you have sold me one...
Aaargh. Out of stock. Gives me time to save a little more then..
Great to hear! Thanks for watching.
I really like the features on this tent, however i am confused by the width. Why so narrow? If you look at its competitors, Hilliberg, Nordisk they all are wider which seems to except my sleeping mat. I use the Thermarest Neoair lite large as i am 6”2” nand need the longer wider mat. Something i thought Fjallraven would appreciate.
Good question. I'm 6ft 3" and have slept in it pretty comfortably with a Thermarest ProLite Large, although this isn't a particularly wide mat. Harry
A cracking review, thanks for this. Thinking of buying this but does it need to be seam sealed before use? 👍
Hi Michael. Thanks for your comments. There is no need to seal the seams before use, the Abisko Lite tent comes ready for 4 season use. Paul.
Thanks Paul, looks a good quality tent.
Have you reviewed the Fjallraven Abisko Lite 2 ?
Afraid not, but they're pretty much identical besides the extra width.
Thoughts on the Akto compared to this? Great video!
I haven't actually used the Akto as we haven't stocked them for quite a few years. I do remember there being quite a big debate about the two tents though, so you might find some good info on forums.
@@trekitt It sure is a big debate haha. The Akto seems to be stronger and more robust, but the Abisko have a few more features like mesh in the ventilation... Hard choice!
What warranty do you get on the B-Grade Abisko tents? The striped material.
The B-Grade tents come with the same guarantee from Trekitt as the A-Grade tents, you can find the specific details here:
www.trekitt.co.uk/pages/termsandconditions/
Would you recommend a footprint for this tent?
A footprint is something we would recommend for pretty much every tent. Whilst the bathtub on the Abisko Lite 1 will stand up to plenty of punishment, the extra peace of mind from adding a footprint is worth the small weight penalty in our minds. Plus it keeps your tent in better condition, much easier to wash a footprint than the entire tent.
Any ideas when you guys may be open for viewing tents? I’m saving hard currently for an Akto but am still torn between an Akto and something like this? Any advice welcome guys. Stay safe. 🙏 Simon
Hi Simon, we are planning to open the shop on an appointment only basis once we get the Government go ahead. We think that'll be around the 17th June. You'll be able to book an appointment through our website/email/livechat or telephone. Have a watch of this for the full statment - ruclips.net/video/JnAXmrl8PsA/видео.html
I am torn between a fjallraven vs hilleberg I would like to do some winter camps just not on top of mountains would a fjallraven be enough?
Yup, they're four-season rated tents so will be enough for winter.
How would you compare it against the Hillebeg Akto, truth?
We don't stock Hilleberg and I've personally never used it, so couldn't say I'm afraid.
A gr8 vid cheers
Hi guys, what do you use as weights to erect the tent indoors? Particularly the guy lines?
Thanks
When we pitch our tents indoors we use velcro floor anchors directly onto the carpet. If we didn't have those then an easy alternative would be looping the guy lines around some heavy books, they would work in a pinch.
@@trekitt great . Thanks for the reply, much appreciated 👍🏻
How would you compare the all round performance and value for money of this tent with the Hilleberg Atko?
I'm afraid we don't stock Hilleberg, so I wouldn't be able to comment on experience. Tents are such a personal thing that I wouldn't want to recommend one over the other unless I had both in front of me to determine which one suits me best. Kind regards, Harry.
Hi, is it necessary to take the small poles out each time the tent is taken down? Or can they be left in place for the next pitch? thnx
Technically they could be left in place, but at risk of damaging the flysheet during transit I'd probably remove them. Kind regards, Harry.
Will you be restocking the abisko lite 1 footprint soon? Thanks
Hi Michael, we should have them in within the next 10 days. If you follow the link below and click 'notify', you'll get an email when they arrive with us. Harry

Great. Thanks for the update
What is the diameter of the long over-the-top Pole? Is it aluminum or fiberglass?
9mm, DAC lightweight aluminium
Have you had any experience with the German brand Wechsel?
Unfortunately not!
Can you recommend a tent, 2 man (enough for me & the crazy spaniel) light weight, not crazy money im thinking the Helm 2 or cloud peak 2 but they are abit on the heavier side. Shopping for tents is such a mine field
MSR Elixir 2 is a great choice. Good value, good pack size, only weighs 2.24kg if you leave the stuffsack at home and will easily fit yourself and a furry companion. www.trekitt.co.uk/sleep-shelter/tents/msr-elixir-2-backpacking-tent-grey__40792
@@trekitt being an inner pitch first is it as much of an issue as alot of people make out?
as a silnylon tent do you recommend seam sealing? Some people have advised to do this. Thanks
No
Does it need to be seam sealed?
It doesn't need to be sealed as long as it has been correctly pitched you shouldn't experience any leaking issues.
@@trekitt some people reported it does leak..i m looking around for a video on how to properly pitch it with footprint..
When pitching tents your results may vary based on a whole host of factors, but spending the time to ensure the tent is well tensioned and has good ventilation will aid greatly in reducing condensation.
Pitching with the footprint is pretty straightforward, lay the footprint out first and peg out, then pitch the tent on top as normal. There are attachment points around the base of the tent to link the two together, so you can keep the footprint attached to the main tent if you prefer and next time you pitch it would be an all in one solution.@@vvs3796
Looks like an Akto.
Would you recommend this or the laser compact all season?
Hi, both tents are excellent and I'd struggle to recommend one over the other. But I do think that the Fjallraven tents are built stronger. Paul.
Thanks, might hold out for the Fjallraven coming back in stock. Is the price going to change from what’s already advertised on your website?
Will you be doing a go over of the laser compact 1 all season? Very limited info photos and nothing on RUclips.
We’ll add it to the production list, but with all the current restrictions it may be some time before it’s uploaded.
@@trekitt no worries, thanks for your help. Have a good new year
Abisko Lite 1
Yes
Wow! My 2019 Zephyros 1 packs smaller than that and is only 1.59 kilos. £89.
The Abisko Lite is 4-season, so it'll weigh more but will withstand more abuse. Zephyros is a great tent though, we stock both! Kind regards, Harry.
The zephyros has less space plus cheap material
akto copy?
alexander major I personally wouldn't say copy, but I would say it is heavily inspired by the Akto. There are some differences, for example mosquito net in all the ventilation slots, the ability to open and close ventilation from inside the tent, more height in the ends of the inner tent, auto-lock main sipper, slightly less width than the Akto, slighty less weight than Akto, the sippers have cordage instead of metal, which I prefer, because the metal handles tend to bang together in windy conditions and make noise.
I have more but I have already written too much :-D
Lets get back to who did it first! For me Hilleberg did but then after 20 years of Nallo 2 I see this brand for the first time. For tweaking the main pole into shorter sections for a smaller pack size weakens in the bend. Then other thing is Hille make a big thing about their poles. They are just not poles they are Eastern (sp) made.
The Alto came immediately after I got the Nallo so that makes it year 2000 when did the Abisko appear?
I hate low profile tents ⛺️
