- Today I headed out to the Tuncurry side and first started with a spearfishing dive, unfortunatly the water was too murky so we switched tactics and went lure fishing for flathead with the new Dr Prawn Lure.

Nice day to be out on the water.
Any chance you could try out some hard body lures for flathead?
Yeah I could definitely do that. Any particular type of hard body's you want me to try?
Maybe some surface lures like Daiwa double clutch, Osp bent minnow or MMD splash prawn perhaps. Thanks 😊
I've got plenty of surface lures laying around. I'll go and have a crack with them soon 🤙
I’m heading to old bar around April 19th and fishing land based at manning river and hopefully the surf any tips you recommend what lures and bait would you recommend and any spots land based that are good ? What fish would I target at that time? And how can I catch a monster jewfish
The bream should be firing in April, already seeing some big ones getting around so I would target those around structure using Eco gear prawns, 2" and 2.5" grubs in motor oil and bloodworm and some small crank lures. Bait wise it's always hard to beat the ole prawn.
For the surf there will be plenty of Bream and Tailor getting about in the gutters. If you can catch a few Tailor I'd use one for strips baits and target the jewfish with that.
I have 50mm king prawn eco gear aqua bream and 2.5" zman grub motor oil and I have a little 60mm brown shad lure but I don’t know what it is really would that work though
All of those should be solid bream lures. Eco gear is a heavy plastic so look at a jig head around the 1/20th mark. The zmans is a bit lighter and I like the 1/16 and 1/12th jig heads
Thank you would the juro fire baits, squishy pro range lobby, and yabbie lure and gulp 5cm baby shrimp be any good for bream and flathead ?
Would beach worms be good bait for the surf and what rig hook and sinker size you recommend for the beach
