I imagine Arlo's family trip was just six arlos. One with a wig, one with a leather jacket, one with pigtails, one with glasses, one with a sleeping cap, and one with a switch
I must say, the cut to "Angry Comment Arlo" playing the Switch was very well timed. Kudos on the concise comedy amidst the clever commentary, my good sir.
Being good at comedy is something every Muppet knows! ...Oh wait, that's probably racist. Ahem...The Cookie Monster has brought his son up well! ...Wait. that's probably a stereotype against blue Muppets, uuuuhh...Mario Sunshine beckons to me, adios!
This video perfectly describes why I'm going to buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Before literally none of my friends had a Wii u so I couldn't play online with them and my friends would only come visit on certain days such as Birthdays so I could barely play Mario Kart 8 my favorite Mario Kart with anyone. But now I could just bring my Switch to school and play Mario Kart 8 at lunch with friends it's so convenient. And this is why I'm really excited for a GameCube Virtual console. Just the thought of bringing Melee, F-Zero GX and Mario Party anywhere to play with friends, it's amazing.
Yeah but solid snake Love your vids man. You're awesome Arlo. I completely agree and, being younger, am having so much fun bringing my Switch to places and just popping it out when I'm bored
Hey Arlo, i know that you wont see this because this is an old video and I dont really know if you actually read comments at all (im pretty new here) but just that one little "you look great" just made my day. My day today has been horrible. My mom is crying, my brother wants to kill himself, and overall this was just a horrible say. I had a horrible presentation and i dont know this thing for math and i think i just failed a science and ELA test. And just to add that little extra bit hurt me a lot and i was just crying in the shower for 45 minutes. And when i get out and rewatch this video, i just burst out crying with joy when you said that. I know that it might have been a little joke, but it just made my entire day that much better, thank you. Just thank you
Raul Rojas I'd recommend Ace Attorney and Nine hours Nine Persons Nine Doors (aka 999). Both are excellent visual novels that test your mind and- oh I just relised how off topic I got from this comment section.
I'm really glad you touched on your previous comment about not having much time for multiplayer games. It made for a very well thought out video and it shows you remember details about your previous work that people care about. Keep it up! Love your vids!
I just want to say I really love the quality of the writing and delivery. The timing is perfect and I'm quite enjoying just listening, even if I'm already interested in the topic. Nice little jokes or visual cues, and I'm already finding myself thinking about how you're pulling off some of the visual stuff - like moving both hands while talking (two people on the puppet? Greenscreening between hands/head?), for example. I'm subscribing, and looking forward to seeing more. Very well articulated, and awesome attitude!
I've been saying this for a while now, but most fanboys just say "hurr durr buy a PC if you want those games!!1!" Arlo, you are 100% right. A PC or PS4 or X1 is not portable like the Switch, which is exactly why 3rd party games, even just rereleases of old ones, and old Nintendo remakes and virtual console games are so important.
Your writing, topics and general information are fantastic. It's classic dry humor with fantastic leads and points. I wish you nothing but success and I subscribe and like every video just of the fact points are made without profoundly crude words to express thought. Good work!!!
Actually I haven't had a Nintendo console in ages until recently I picked up the 3DS and now the Switch, so I would really like to see ports of older Nintendo games into the Switch and also, for the 3rd party games I will give priority to the Switch version in order to be able to play them on the go.
Wow I saw this video through a friend sharing it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You brought up very effective and concise points and got your meaning across very effectively. The video also explained very well how I feel about the Switch atm. I kind of want to buy one, but I want to wait for more games to come out. Thank you for a high quality video :D
As someone transitioning over from the 3DS I've played my switch almost exclusively in handheld mode. Much prefer it to being on the TV. But hey I'm more of a snuggling in bed with a good game kind of person, rather than sitting on the couch.
fantastic video Arlo!! one of your best yet. you absolutely hit the nail right on the head. there's a pretty popular thread about your video over on NeoGAF, and happy to see others feeling the same as you. Just hope that Nintendo catches wind or is thinking the same as you already!
there's an upcoming game for the switch named fate/ extella, the game that you mentioned as a "dynasty warriors clone" in your april 12 direct reaction video. and while it may not seem like a big deal, i think this game could directly lead to a boom in anime related titles for the switch and increase sales, especially in japan, most of those kinds of games have mostly launched on psp/vita/ps3 and 4, and are often launched on both handheld and console, e.g. both steins; gate and fate/extella launched on vita and ps4 among many others. and alot of people in japan buy a copy for each platform but with the switch it could lead to a shift in the amount of people buying switches to save money in the long run, if even just fate/extella comes out this way and sells only a decent amount, it could still push for more of these kinds of anime tie-ins to be released not only on the switch in japan but hopefully world wide and considering that those games are the only thing keeping the vita alive in the west, itcould be a huge deal
I love how you brought up practically every counter we could make in your video. Very well done. I still wonder how Nintendo will make use of their system but it's just the first year.
Same. I love the game but I can't play one game for a long time (like a couple of weeks of just playing a single game). I just want something different at times, and I come back later.
Brian Veliaj Yah, I want all of the shrines and side quests done before I enter Hyrule castle besides for ones that force you to go into it😂 I basically want to do everything possible before doing it.
i know that ppl like to trash talk nintendo, but from what ive seen nintendo is the one that creates the new markets for gaming (wireless with the wavebird, wii motion, and now with the hybrid), nintendo isnt scared of trying new thing like sony and microsoft. I ASSURE YOU, in a few years either sony or microsoft will create their version switch and most likely be beefier.....and then ppl will start criticizing nintendo again.....this is a cycle.
The shield was also a failure, if Nintendo didn't pick up where Nvidia left off, the concept may have never been fully realised. no one said it was original either, just new, which is fair enough. Personally I don't even think it's new at all, the concept in the most technical sense is just a handheld with a HDMI port and enough power to potentially bridge the gap between them and consoles.
Just imagine how right Arlo was about its potential at the time.... it's crazy that back when I started watching Alo we knew nothing of the Switch' potential and library.
Couldn't agree more Arlo, a year or so ago I found I was more likely to play games to completion on my iPad than if I bought them on my PC or traditional console. That's what sold me on the Switch, I just can't wait for more games!
Arlo, I just recently found your channel and have been binge watching your channel. Incredibly entertaining content ! Keep it up, and when the shirts are out I would love to get one!
When I went on a long car trip with my nintendo switch over the summer, I played the HECK out of it too, except I had BOTW, MK8DX, and ARMS. I also brought my dock, so when my cousin asked if we wanted to play Mario kart 8 on the Wii U, I pulled out my switch and showed her my multiplayer games. We played it all weekend.
In my opinion, another one the Switch's unique opportunities is making playing multiplayer easier than ever before. Unlike the 3DS it isn't required for every player to have their own system, and unlike consoles it doesn't require you to lug a ton of cables and a bulky system around, nor does it require you to have a TV to hook it up to. Not to mention it comes with two controllers, so multiplayer is available straight out of the box. I went to visit a college campus about a month ago, and had a blast playing BotW on the car trip. Then one night while I was in the dorm and some students were hanging out, I pulled out my Switch and suddenly it turned into a Switch commercial. I played PuyoPuyo Tetris with a couple of students (The Japanese demo) and we had a lot of fun! This sort of thing has the potential to sell itself. You can play it with complete strangers if they come up and ask what it is, and if they're impressed they might just go to the store later and buy their own. (Assuming they can find one...) In the end, this point and your point are both BIG points. The Switch is the most convenient console ever created. Never has a system more functioned as easily as both a handheld and TV console, and never has multiplayer been more accessible. This could easily be the best "gimmick" Nintendo has ever created, because it doesn't make developers feel as if they need to shoehorn something in, it simply makes playing your games a *lot* more convenient.
As someone who just doesn't sit down to play at a console anymore, or even my PC all that much, hand-held seems like the best feature. I mean my most played games device is my 3DS and I don't even take it out of the house, I just play it in bed or at the desk or wherever, it's just really convenient to have something I can pick up and play anywhere. Once the Switch has more games and a few little issues fixed I can see myself buying it to have that high quality handheld experience, a step up from the 3DS. I just hope ports, sequels and/or remakes of a lot of my favourite games or game genres will be coming to the Switch, because one of the other things I love about the 3DS is the sheer variety of games -- I have more games for it than I've had for any other gaming system I've ever had, seriously.
I do agree, I travelled to Brazil for vacation. Plane was as fast as it could be, could not believe when getting there that I was just like that guy in the promo Video back in october. Same for rainy time that I could spend playing high quality video game instead of getting stuck in the Hotel room watching TV.
You know that PSP was baisically Switch? It had an AV out, all you had to do was plug it into your TV and play. Not only that, Vita games are also playable on TV via PSTV, so I'm not seeing how they couldn't have just added a HDMI out on it. Sony almost had that market covered, they just didn't capitalise on it.
TheLaXandro actually they did capitalise on it but with the multi media player use with the psp, since sony had add-ons for it's 2000 model of the psp that allows you to put a tv antenna, to a a cradle with a remote control you can put your psp 2000 on, and so on. with the psp go, they try to market its own features like the ability to connect to the ps3 sixaxis/Dualshock 3 controller and it's own cradle with av out feature, but didn't work and sold badly because that people wanted the psp go to play umds like the older models. the ps vita didn't have the add-ons or features like the psp 2000 , but the ps tv or originally the ps vita tv was marketed as a mini console act like the av out feature of the psp 2000, since the ps vita didn't av out/hdmi out port in the system. which doesn't make sense since it's older model of ps vita does have a port that is unused and it has been speculated that port would be the port for add-ons and its own cable use to connect to the tv.
Dude, this last week I've experienced how awesome the handheld table top mode multiplayer is with the Puyo Puyo Tetris demo. It's so convenient to just pop out and play some matches with my buddy through out the day.
You make some very good points about the stand-bye mode. Nothing I've got boots up faster than my Switch, and that includes software boot up. Suddenly going with cartridges over discs isn't such a bad idea.
I have no idea why, but I feel an intense satisfaction every time I hear you say "Korok" the way you do. I've heard Karoke, Karik, Kark, Kakor, Kakrok... Just... Thanks for saying it the way you do.
The "switching" part is what really got me. I'm primarily a handheld gamer, so i love the handheld function. and sometimes its great to play on TV too. I'd love to play Pokemon on a TV screen, for example. I also will always drop hot dollars on a Zelda title! And, honestly, I'm the sort of person who drops dollars on games i like multiple times over. My all-time favourite game is Okami, and i have the PS2, Wii, AND PS3 versions!
I definitely see the potential in the hybrid concept, it's definitely a killer feature and a huge differentiator from other platforms. For example, for the few multiplatform indie games that are also on Switch, the question is no longer just "which platform does it run better on?", there's also "and do I want it on the go?". Unfortunately, while other people find the feature useful, I'm unable to use it for more than 15 minutes without my hands going numb from my cervical myelopathy. In fact, I can't use any handhelds whatsoever.
When Arlo started talking about his "family trip", I just imagined a common casual meeting with other normal people... until I thought of the fact he's a puppet. Then I started imagining other creatures like Arlo, but in different sizes, shapes and even colors. Oh boy, what a trip.
You're right Arlo! I was just sitting in my bed so I grabbed it, turned it on, and boom, within 2 seconds I'm back in cuphead trying to knockout a dragon thing.
This is exactly why I love the Switch.. I'm old, I have young children, I work 60 hours a week and the Switch does an amazing job of giving busy adults like me, an opportunity and the access to actually play full on console experiences again. I'm not interested in buying my NES and SNES library AGAIN!!!! .... but I would jump at the chance of a GameCube revival in VC.
The switching is great! When I was about to finish the first dungeon in BOTW, I ran out of time and had to leave to go to uni, so I packed the switch into my bag, took it on the bus and finished it there :D
0:28 "Stuff to do and cars to drive…" I just got a vivid picture in my head of stopping in traffic, looking to my left and seeing a fuzzy blue muppet holding the wheel to a Honda Civic.
I was a Nintendo kid from NES, SNES and N64. But then bought a playstation 2; and after PC all the way. I came back to Nintendo (bought a 3ds) for nostalgia of the Pokemon series on Pokemon X and Sapphire, because I found out that I could complete a living pokedex. But never though Nintendo will make a console/mobile system, The Switch brought me back completely. Now I play PC and Switch, best combo for a old Nerd like me.
I play pretty much strictly in handheld mode and I agree with everything you say. I where a lot of big hoodies so I always have a giant pocket that I can just stick my switch in. I think that handheld mode is the best decision they made for the switch.
1:15 "Usually someone else driving" meaning Arlo drives sometimes. Can you imagine driving your car along the highway, looking to your right and seeing a blue muppet casually steering the wheel?
I feel the same way, I grew up on Gamecube too. I've played mario sunshine, wind Waker, and 1000 year door like 7 times each but I will gladly play them each again on the switch!
Legacy Content on the go is one of the big selling points of Nintendo Switch, and it has been handled fine. Third-Party and indie developers/publishers has used this strategy a lot and it has in most cases worked well. Nintendo has also tried it to big success, but the lack of Virtual Console hurts this a lot. Overall yeah they are doing it. And great video as always Arlo! Also, new outro, kinda...
I imagine Arlo's family trip was just six arlos. One with a wig, one with a leather jacket, one with pigtails, one with glasses, one with a sleeping cap, and one with a switch
Bearman 3600 XD
Bearman 3600 arlo needs to pin this
ARLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine passing by that car
What if the wig Arlo has a Marge Simpson beehive hair wig, the glasses Arlo has a moustache, and the pigtails Arlo has lipstick?
>clicks on the video
*two seconds in*
"Hey how you doing? You look great!"
>breaks my mouse clicking like
atmos That made me laught hard, because i look like shit 😂 i had an accident and I got stiches on my eyebrow hahaha
Seriously.. I lost it at that intro. I had to stop the video instantly. Too fucking funny.
atmos >meme arrowing on RUclips
atmos "Anything else to add?" "Oh, yes! I didn't think that was a Korok, but it totally was!" "Cool. See ya later guys."
You look good too Arlo.
Nintendo 2013: Bringing Handheld-like games to a home console
Nintendo 2017: Bringing Console-games to a Handheld
Music Proposition psvita was bringing AAA games to the handheld
Haruhi Suzumiya
Which they sucked at.
Haruhi Suzumiya Man that thing could barely run Borderlands.
Haruhi Suzumiya well rhythm games are hardly console games

I must say, the cut to "Angry Comment Arlo" playing the Switch was very well timed. Kudos on the concise comedy amidst the clever commentary, my good sir.
John Wedig its so true.
John Wedig yeah but solid snake
I couldn't stop laughing. The "huh?" was just so perfectly timed
Being good at comedy is something every Muppet knows!
...Oh wait, that's probably racist. Ahem...The Cookie Monster has brought his son up well!
...Wait. that's probably a stereotype against blue Muppets, uuuuhh...Mario Sunshine beckons to me, adios!
dragoonfunykid indicative of the short term attention span of the commenters, they suffer amnesia on command. Just like banksters.
A Person That Is Bad With Names so much yes! すごい!
A Person That Is Bad With Names try snake pass, shovel knight and fast racing rmx.
Thanks for the recommendations, I'm currently playing Shovel Knight Treasure Trove and it's a blast.
Don't take your Switch to school. Eventually it will be stolen.
I would just take it to a friends house, someone will steal it.
"You look great."
Aww thank you, Arlo.
There are two Arlos now. This is canon forever.
Arlo, your videos are helping me with a tough time. I am actually under the age of 13 and yesterday my dad past cause of an infection. Thank you.
Vezerlo Productions I feel sympathy for your dad but what does your age have to do with this?
Someone at my age shouldn't feel such pain at a young age. Nobody should.
Now I'm suspicious that you just made things up for likes...
I can remove the comment if you want, even though I am honest.
You will make it through this just try to stay positive
You should color that other guy red or something
MetaAxe 1456 yeah that would be cool
MetaAxe 1456 I feel like it would be hilarious if he had a bandana
I take offense to that!
Or just stick a moustache on
I suggested a scarf. I also suggested he keep using this dynamic because I like it. XD
I wonder what Arlo's family looks like
DevelopedBear They're probably just different coloured versions of him.
I think like Sesame Street or maybe Muppets.
Gandalf the Black i say they're all blue
Maybe they're the guys from Fuzzaboom.
DevelopedBear stop being so racist.
As a 15 year old with 2 siblings the handheld function is a godsend, no need to wait for whoever on the tv to get off
10 hours one way?!!? I'd hate to intervene with family tradition but any car ride longer than 4 hours ought to be a trip by plane
OH GOD HE'S TURNED BLUE
WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN!?
nine eleven
Minako Arisato dabadee
Stick Breightley dababa di
Clever Username I don't understand, I looked it up and nothing happened
Didn't think I'd see a persona fan here.
As a college student, the switch is really a dream come true.
You make a very good point, one of the main reason I'm buying MK8D is the portability factor.
Is your family sesame street?
saltyvideogamer Are you assuming his gen... well, hold on lemme think about this.
Bearman 3600 how is his body his gender? You're so dumb XD
Krystal Daneilson that's why I had to think about it.
i meant from sesame street
you look great too arlo
That dude always has his hand up Arlo's bum.
Wait, how does Arlo drive a car? We never see his legs!
The Real Michael Garcia Respect people's privacy plz

The Real Michael Garcia No, YOU'RE in denial. Arlo is right there in the video.
Hey, loved the angry commenter, but can u give him something to wear? A tie or a hat. I just think it would be funny.
I agree something to distinguish him from the normal arlo
What about comically big angry eyebrows?
Doia Eu that's a great idea!
Have wearing a fedora while waving around a banana.
Give him a keyboard
Writing "yeah, but Solid Snake" on an Arlo video = instant likes

The word "you're" is an abbreviation of the two words "you" and "are".
Happy now, Grammar Nazi?
Hi How Are Ya? Yeah, but stale joke.

I am 12, and I was just on a vacation, and I asked my mom for a switch, and she said "when we get back"
john Wp2 good luck finding one man
what does your age have to do with anything?
Carter Theberge S I don't have to drive or anything else related
It seems like people under the age of 13 on the internet like stating their age for no particular reason.
Raul Rojas I'd recommend Ace Attorney and Nine hours Nine Persons Nine Doors (aka 999). Both are excellent visual novels that test your mind and- oh I just relised how off topic I got from this comment section.
A Story....
Arlo, I love you!

I played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle in the car.

My switch with botw is coming on the 12th-15th, I'm going on an 8 hour road trip the twelfth. The chances are so low but my fingers are crossed.
Did you end up getting it on time?
Jesus, the switch needs smash.
BudderCreep3r Agreed
BudderCreep3r Jesus heard you and said to wait a little bit longer. :D

You people and wanting to know what Arlo's family looks like... Yeah, that's a normal thing to think about...
I wonder who Arlo got his blue color and dreaminess from... Is Arlo's whole family blue and dreamy?!

Same. I love the game but I can't play one game for a long time (like a couple of weeks of just playing a single game). I just want something different at times, and I come back later.
Same here. I've been playing almost everyday since launch and even now I'm finding new stuff
bigal1010 on Bitstrips me neither but. It because I don't have the time, my OCD won't let me beat the game without all shrines
Same.... 130 hours in and I havent even beat a divine beast yet..... Only 32 shrines and 180 koroks....I still so much more to go.
Brian Veliaj Yah, I want all of the shrines and side quests done before I enter Hyrule castle besides for ones that force you to go into it😂

tl;dr: switch needs a VC.
Couldn't agree more Arlo, a year or so ago I found I was more likely to play games to completion on my iPad than if I bought them on my PC or traditional console. That's what sold me on the Switch, I just can't wait for more games!
I wonder what his family looks like.

Arlo, I just recently found your channel and have been binge watching your channel. Incredibly entertaining content ! Keep it up, and when the shirts are out I would love to get one!
Hey Arlo maybe we should *Switch* to a new topic......Nah never mind why would anyone need to or want to talk about anything else😉😄
Yeah, a knew topic, like Solid Snake.
No Name So Sad nah What about *Solid Snake Pass*?
Slenderfoxx He already did that.
Your using both hands I am now completely convinced your a puppet.
You nailed it, I completely agree with everything you said. I look at old games in a totally new way now.
ARLO YOU ROCK
Disliked because of your name
:P
xXxDxXx I under stand
Sticker Star is good but Arlo isn't a rock
Pancake Heaven Ha very funny
I found your channel a couple of weeks ago and you've conquered my sub box and my heart out of the blue. I'll show myself out...
I have 250+ in Botw beat all the shrines but have only 300 korok seeds...
I don't understand why ppl love to do things that aren't necessary. The korok seeds wont give you a proper reward in the end.
Jesse "SuperWaffle57" yeah idk it just feels satisfying
(Assuming they can find one...)
In the end, this point and your point are both BIG points.
Now I want luigis mansion on the switch...
Did you get Luigi's Mansion 3 yet?
Yea, but solid snake.
I do agree, I travelled to Brazil for vacation. Plane was as fast as it could be, could not believe when getting there that I was just like that guy in the promo Video back in october.
Same for rainy time that I could spend playing high quality video game instead of getting stuck in the Hotel room watching TV.
xenoblade x and conkers bad fur day.
get me these one the switch nintendo
I actually want to see a a port of Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Nintendo Switch.
Man I love Arlo, feels like a real person XD
Keep up the good work!
Regards from Mty, Mexico
Fallout on the Switch, make it happen Bethesda, just make it happen.
I enjoy you Vids, you bring much joy to the world when the world is in so much turmoil.
TheLaXandro that market existed in 2005?
I love how your uploading more often now. My fav youtube channel is really growing. :)
Arlo, you're a Nintendo focused RUclipsr. You can never talk about the Switch too much!
"You look great!"
He can see us...
...
Yeah, but solid snake
This is exactly why I love the Switch.. I'm old, I have young children, I work 60 hours a week and the Switch does an amazing job of giving busy adults like me, an opportunity and the access to actually play full on console experiences again.
I'm not interested in buying my NES and SNES library AGAIN!!!! .... but I would jump at the chance of a GameCube revival in VC.
I feel the same way with regards to re-buying my favorite games. I've been salivating over the possibility of a TYD remaster since day 1
Arlo is so underrated. Great insight on gaming with legitimately funny jokes.
Why is it only now Ive found Arlo??? He's Effin GREAT!! L O V E this content! Well done, keep up the good work!! MJ
Cool☺
Arlo, a down to earth Nintendo fan. Loving the content and your unique perspective on this. Keep it up Cookie Monster's nerdy cousin!
I hope there are lots of ports and virtual console comes soon
Im young and love the look of older games
I never thought I would enjoy a talk show where the host was a puppet as much as I do, but, dammit Arlo, you've grown on me. Keep being awesome.
not gonna lie. this puppeteer style of video reviewing is incredibly unique. Really makes Arlo stand out.
"This trip was on a WHOLE new level."
Those eyes, man. They tell the world.
Loving your aesthetics and reviews Arlo - Keep up the good work! I'll be sticking around as a subscriber as long as I can to help support.
