    My helped me diagnose my bad head gasket this way 13 years ago. Oreilly thermostat was the culprit.

    PSA, If your head is warped good chance the cam journals are following the same arc. Having the head resurfaced with out heating the head to straighten it will result in a broken camshaft.

      Yeah there might be a bad head gasket. Sad times.

      I think that was the long ratchet I had on the front crank bolt moved when the motor rotated.

    Wow sounds like you reinvented the wheel... It's called and leak down test and we have been doing it for 50 plus years already, I guess there are a lot of guys out there that are that clueless and think you have saved the day.
