    Essendon did really well to come back like they did , plenty of positives , im a pies fan i said it will be over at half time aye, how wrong i was but we been doing this comeback sht in the last quarter for a few weeks now i just knew it wasn't over even 20 points down, Jamie took that mark and had the look of a stone cold killa!!! Such a hard shot too ! Props to the dons for making it a proper game , it was my birthday too so happy and still a bit drunk but that game winning kick will be cemented in my memory, Go the Pies !

    Collingwood's ability to fight back is sensational. Credit to Craig McRae for training for these moments, but it is concerning. Will it hold up against a better side like Geelong in finals? Essendon's poor decisions and structure in the final minutes heavily contributed to Collingwood snatching victory.

      Any other defender worth their salt would not have allowed Elliot to take that mark essentially unopposed. No way he would have marked it if it was Tom Stewart and Jed Bews or a Salem and Lever contesting against him in the 2 v 1. The element of luck in their wins is unreal. 106% says all we need to know for a 4th placed side.

    Richmond and Collingwood have shared many cross over talents in players and coaches. Throughout their history as clubs in VFL /AFL this has lead to many successes and a healthy rivalry between both clubs fans.
    Examples are many such as Tom Hafey a great Richmond coach in late 60’s and early 70’s going to Collingwood and players like David Cloke ,Geoff Raines in the 80’s crossing over to Collingwood are just some examples.

    Haha.. 13 wins and a good chunk were utter luck beating sides like North and Adelaide and people think they are the Brisbane of 01-04? xD
    Collingwood are eerily similar to North in 07. Sides who were deemed as bottom 6 finishers. Guess what, both surprised and played out very good H & A seasons. Collingwood current percentage is 106 and North in 07 finishing with 109 and coming 4TH. North made a QF but got destroyed when things started to heat up.
    Credit to Collingwood, but as David King said himself NUMEROUS times, percentage is an indicator of how well you are going, and as good as they are on paper, they could have EASILY dropped 3 of the close ones and remain in the pack for a 7-8th placed finish instead of vying for top 6. Any competent defender like Lever or Weitering in 2 on 1 would have taken initiative and spoiled the ball and neutralizing the Elliot contest, and hence winning the game.
    They cant ride this wave of luck forever and if they were to come 4th and play Geelong first week, I am putting down Geelong for a 6-7+ goal win.

    Poor Bombers are the media's whipping boy this week. Collingwood scrape together a win on the back of a sensational goal after the siren and will win the flag according to this piece, and the Bombers are destined to eternal damnation according to this piece. Comparisons of McCrae with Rutten I think are not fair, as the Magpies have the greater talent. If the Magpies do win the flag, it is Buckley to de damned. That's where the coach comparison should be, because it's the same cattle. Meanwhile, leave the Bombers alone. The peanut gallery/Greek chorus proclaim to the media, "Stop, stop! He's already dead."

  • @taxads7791
    @taxads7791 2 года назад +2

    Ben Dixon spot on, if you're happy with that you're not the right man for the coaching job. We are seething as fans who just watch our team for a couple of hours every weekend, hoping they will bring us some joy & then we get on with our day to day lives. For Rutten, for whom it's his livelihood, his future in the game, is sitting there smiling & just kicking back as if it's a Sunday kick around with a few mates.. what does it take for him to say its not acceptable, show some emotion. He should be seething that such inept defending could cost him his coaching career.

      There's also far more effective ways of leading and coaching than giving a spray. He's looking at the positives, taking it as a learning opportunity. They came out in Q2 and dominated, so something must be right.

  • @imalwaysright
    @imalwaysright 2 года назад +9

    Looks like Fox Footy is on the payroll of the anti-Rutten faction of the Essendon Football Club. Their comments are so over the top and negative. Matches like this happen all the time in the footy. They wouldn't be so damning of another coach or club. Richmond have coughed up 30-40 point leads several times, lost in the dying minutes, lost to North, couldve been Top 4, may miss out on finals, and these clowns have continued to say Richmond are the best team in the comp. They were hyping Richmond last year too. Tactical errors cost the Bombers in the end, but it wasn't end of the world and they'll learn from it.
