I’m pretty sure the one right behind the bald eagle is one of the parent cause it swooped on by 😭 it was prolly trying to defend the nest but obviously didn’t succesd
Ospreys are the cheetahs of the bird/raptor world...fast and agile with good strong legs and wings...but they are not well suited to defend themselves against even slightly larger raptors. They just don't have the hardware (just like cheetahs).
WOW, THAT TELLS YOU THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INNATE ABILITY TO AVOID ATTACK IN THE TWO CHICKS. ONE FLEW AWAY AND THE OTHER LYING FLAT DOWN. THE ONE DID NOTHING GET KIDNAPPED.
Some bird species seem to be so savage toward others. Since birds are believed to be descendants of dinosaurs, it has me thinking the dinosaurs had to deal with a lot of carnage, kind of like a dinosaur eat dinosaur prehistoric world.
They are not descendants if dinosaurs, they are their own group of dinosaurs and yeah I agree abt the lives of the dinosaurs, it must have been short and brutal for the smaller species.
I can't find a chat for this site, I am so sorry for you all who were watching this nest. I am devastated by this also. Nature can be a terrible thing some times.
Terrible? If all killing stopped many critters would starve to death. Reality is what it is. Moral judgment regarding killing to eat to live is futile even foolish.
Wow, I guess I should have been more specific, I was responding to the moment. I am not making a moral judgement, simply saying that nature can be hard to watch, but a necessary part of life. Reality is what it is, that doesn't mean we should cheer when a nest we had been following gets attacked by a forager. Sorry if you think I am foolish, I am who I am. Have a wonderful day, try not to judge everything so sternly, people do have hearts.

@@CootCut yes, terrible. You know, like how we will never stop diseases, it always has happened and will happen to people because that’s just part of life and nature, but it’s still terrible.
Interesting tho, I re-watched it a few times, and I can't see where contact is made one the remaining osprey to not flee/defend the nest. It must be protecting eggs. It played dead, for its children. I wonder what the next 10 minutes would show had the poster not savagely cut the feed.
I took a nature tour with LL bean in Maine this summer. Osprey make large nest usually on islands or close to water. Fun fact osprey are one of the only birds to make multiple nest incase one nest is damage in a storm.
Here’s a fun little fact when that bear goes to sleep at night, you could lay a steak out next to it and that tapeworm would come out of the bears anus and eat that steak before the bear woke up the next morning
How the eagles just come sailing in from the fog is scary

I love how the other one is playing dead 🌚 ....

Probably the most 'merica thing I have seen in a while...
In Bremen Germany we have Osprey back now, Some say we have Also White tail Sea Eagle. But but its only hearsay.
Bierre handled himself pretty well on that accidental fledge. I'll miss little Spirit so much.
I like how the one bird just casually lays down like "Oops, I dropped something" while his siblings get the worst of it.
WOW, THAT TELLS YOU THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INNATE ABILITY TO AVOID ATTACK IN THE TWO CHICKS. ONE FLEW AWAY AND THE OTHER LYING FLAT DOWN. THE ONE DID NOTHING GET KIDNAPPED.
Duck and live.
was wondering if that one just had a frickin heart attack.
@MrJaybird3316 ikr I need the whole video
"I never met a wild thing sorry for itself" - DH lawrence
Very impressive footage.
You can see the left bird and the front bird were smaller than the on one on the right because those to were the Baby and there were no egg
0:37 The difference between going through the drive-thru instead of going inside to order.
I live in Bremen... but in germany

Sweet move by the eagle soaring in and grabbing takeout without stopping.
That one bird that played dead had me convinced
"The Eagles, the Eagles are coming! OH FUUUU-"
Wow, a Tolkien reference! Impressive!
Not gonna lie. That was pretty impressive.
The real Charmin bear
That 3rd bird was a genius. Just sucks low and plays dead. Unless it actually had a heart attack and died. Lol. I dunno.
😆😆
Ikr I need to see the rest of the video! It looked like it lost its footing and just played dead
Wow...

I'm now left wondering if the 3rd Osprey either played dead or actually tapped out of life courtesy of a heart attack. 🤔
Heads up! And it layd down

The mother osprey was after that eagle. I guess defending her young.

I think the osprey ordered a hit on the other two, quite common in the osprey world.
That is a Eagle's nest, judging by the size of it.

A Great Horned Owl will do the same thing to the Eagles chicks. Nature is cruel, which makes it more beautiful
youre a clown. makes you more ugly
I fail to see the beauty in it.
this is so horrible that eagles are eating anything with a heartbeat.
Its really not hard to google Bald eagles and realize this is natural. Have some common sense jesus
eagles need to eat too, it's sad but it's nature
So do humans pretty much.
Wish they were bigger. Hunted humans. Cruel, mean humans
It’s called nature
Eagles really are the greatest ❤❤❤
