Your locs extensions should NOT BE slipping out, but it depends on the install technique. Also, you can instantloc your buds of you dont want to wait for them to mature. You have a beautiful head of hair, your roots are so healthy and your locs would have grown out themselves so beautifully even without the extensions...I have EXTENSIONS and install them professionally and I love them. I didn't experience the stiffness past the 2nd week. Great video...Best wishes on your journey.
The stiffness of my loc extensions definitely reduced after my first wash and they get more pliable with every wash. The thing I'm unhappy with is I don't believe mine are 100% human hair even though I was told they were. They're heavier than expected when wet even though they're only 8 inches and the hair on close inspection looks just like straight hair that's been locd/crocheted. Sigh. I'll see how things go.
Oh no! I've heard stories like that. I could be the way your locs were parted that's making them heavy....have you tried to bleach a small piece just to see? If it lifts then you're good and you may just need to see a loctitian to make sure your loc to part ratio is good.
I know this video is old, but I’m getting my loc extensions done in the beginning of December and I wanted to know when you went through the budding phase what did you do? Did you go back to your loctician to get that crocheted in or did you just get it retwisted? I’m new to this and I know how the budding phase is because I actually tried going locd before, but it didn’t work out so well because I have fine hair.
Hello love! I just got regular retwists for the first year. Budding is natural and is a sign that your hair is properly locing. They eventually do go away.. But some of my locs are still budding and I'm over a year in...hair texture (coil pattern) plays a part. Its all part of the process...loc extensions just add length...but you cant skip the rest.
Thank you! I learned so much from this video. How many cm big we’re your locs starting out? My extensions were pencil size 0.6 but they did swell when I colored them like you said. So they’re maybe 0.7cm now.
i got my loc extensions done the 1st of december; it’s almost march and they’re still stiff 😰 i always moisturize. is this still considered early? i feel like they only look good styled in 2 strand twist & even then they’re still stiff. they’re only about 10 inches so they don’t even fall if i put it in a ponytail lol so it makes them look even stiffer. i do have budding at the moment. i did major research before getting them and people said the stiffness would go away gradually with a couple washes
They are still very new. Don't over wash yet..just spray them with rose water..over time they will loosen up. Mine were 10 inches when I started and I remember thinking my ponytail would never fall...but eventually it did. I really didnt have flowing locs till about 6 months. Just keep the styled oiled and moisturized..🙂

I got mine a month ago and i was so worried about my locks being stiff but luckily it wasn’t I don’t know the brand of hair it is but it’s 🔥🔥🔥 so soft and it’s not heavy
Am I the only one that loves frizz? I love when you can't see my parts.
I have heard a lot of people say that! I like when my retwist is not as fresh, but the frizz used to drive me crazy lol!

Thank you so much. I'm going through all that you spoke about. I didn't know these things before but I'm learning as time goes by.

Do you have an Instagram? I would love to see an update after you take them out .
What size are the extensions 0.4cm or 0.6cm

Hello sis! I'm glad it helped. My extensions were .4 cm when I got them. The swelling wasn't drastic..just noticeable to me. ❣
My question for you is ca you use a crotchet on the buds to mature the loc faster?
I believe you could..not sure about the buds...but definitely to help with the frizz!
Thanks for the info. How many locs do you have?
Thanks for watching! 98 locs
Thank u very helpfull
