Oh my, got a craving for thai beef salad at work today and thought Marion probably has a recipe for it. Found the recipe and luckily I had more or less all ingredients at home so that I could cook it right away after work. It was so ridicolously spot on good so that I startad running around in my apartment of joy😅 Thanks Marion for sharing all these amazing recipes!!
Marion, you make cooking fun, simple and easy. Most of all it's your jovial nature that is contagious. All the best to you and look forward to your next culinary adventure.
Wonderful cooking video! The fishsauce need a little bit garlic for better smell. This dish gonna be perfect to combine with Vietnamese Spring Rolls ( Cha Gio). Love to see more Vietnamese cuisine video. A vietnamese homecook.
Oh my God !!! This looks sooooooooo good ! I would love to try it ! It’s like Bo Bun right ? Can you make a video of the original Bo Bun recipe ? Love your videos !!! 😍😍😍
Hi Marion, rinsing the noodle immediately after cooking with cold water traditionally to get rid of the gluey, slimmy floury residues so the noodles won't have that sticky gluey floury taste when serve. Now a day, this method is used mostly prevent overcooking.
You are amazing Marion !👍. Nutrition’s degree from Thailand, I thought I know how to cook really good already ....until I came across your channel a couple of months ago( then I realized, still a lot to learn )😆 .I really enjoy watching the way you cook , your personal, and your simple explanation ...you make every dishes look so yummy!!😋. Love the camera setting as well 👍❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much, I looove your channel and your recipes! 😍 I made this dish a few weeks ago and also added some chopped, toasted peanuts, which was delicious!
Hello Marion's Kitchen (^^! Noodle dishes in Japan are popular! When I saw this video I wanted to eat beef noogle The idea of using lemongrass is wonderful (^ ^!
@@tiendungtran792 he said Japanese love noodles and this dish will inspire him to try with lemon grass. Though, I wonder what japanese think of fish sauce. Japanese always use dry bonito and seaweed in their broth, it's not far from fish sauce anyways.
@@ellietrann I'm not sure about that...I mean, technically, "thit nuong" means BBQ'ed or grilled meat. It doesn't signify a specific type of protein, per se. But yeah, everyone associates it with the pork version as that's probably the protein used initially. My parents always just called our beef noodle bowl bun bo even though technically, it should include the word xao to signify it was stir-fried in a pan. My parents always made our bun bo with curry, though. :)

Love love love your videos! Thank you. I don’t have a mortar & pestle, could I use a small food processor instead? Or would I lose some of the depth of flavour?
Living away from home and I miss these simple and light vietnamese dishes. Though, some how when I am at a vietnamese restaurant I always end up ordering Pho.... doh!
bún bò xào*. I think it's a vermicelli dish instead of salad. Vietnamese also often stir fries a generous amount of sliced brown/red onions with the beef.
I love how this recipe doesn’t need any LOOONG marinade time neither the beef or the carrot pickle ! So fresh and such appetizing looking ! I’m going to definitely try this. Thank you for the recipe ! 👍🏻
I cant wait to try this - minus the bean sprouts. Looks positively divine! I can't say how pleased I am to finally have a cooking channel where I have all the ingredients at home, all the time. And if I run out, the shop is just a 2 minute walk away!
Soaking my vermicelli in cold water didn't work for me but I came up with another solution so they don't clump... However its very controversial... I cook the noodles then give a quick chop through with the scissors. Works really well!
I REALLY LIKE YOUR RECIPE BUT IF YOU CAN ADD A FEW CRUNCHY EGG ROLLS WITH IT I THINK IT VERY YUMMY , I WILL DO IT AT THIS WEEKEND AND THE SAME WAY LIKE YOUR RECIPE ! 👉 THANK FOR YOUR SHOW .
AlphGen this is technically more of a Vietnamese style dish. But because I’m of Thai heritage I tend to use Thai fish sauce. The thing to look out for with fish sauce is the ingredient list. The fewer ingredients the better. The best ones only have fish (anchovy) , salt and water. The colour is just an age thing 😊
Missing sesame seeds and peanuts marinated in beef.Served with sautéed chopped scallions and fresh roasted pounded peanuts for a complete authentic Vietnamese dish. The noodles should be drained and completely dry before serving.
Nice i did eat this in the restaurant so refreshing i will diffenitely make this thanks Marion😊 by the way you look more pretty if you will remove your glasses just saying only😊hope if you don't mind ive been watching your cooking show before without a glasses you look like my Australian friend Kylee 😊
I love rice noodles- but sometimes I despair!- I cooked pad Thai noodles last week- followed the package instructions- which said to boil for 6-8 minutes before you stir fry them- I was sceptical- and I should have been- after 6 minutes they were already mush!😩🤷♀️😡
I tried this..and my husband loving it so much..thank u!!! U are always my fav!! 😍
My Chinese godmother taught me many traditional dishes, but you, Marion are expanding my Asian-influence in the kitchen. Thanks. You are amazing.

Loved it. Your food are amazing ❤
Very good dish for summer, looks yummy.
Hi Marion! Love your cooking! What mortar and pestle do you use?!?!
Guuuuuurrrrrl love your food & you are so genuine in your videos really okay 😘🍜
I like topping it with crushed peanuts 🥜
Me too!
Very good suggestion, I did it today, that’s my kind of salad… incredibly delicious, better than in the restaurant
Dry roast the peanuts and then crush them. The taste is enhanced .
Love love love your videos! Thank you. I don’t have a mortar & pestle, could I use a small food processor instead? Or would I lose some of the depth of flavour?
Great video Marion! You talk about the pan size being important when stir frying beef. Are you able to recommend brand or size?
I would love to add some freshly toasted peanuts on top.
Yep. This is now a staple!

Whoa! That looks amazing Marion!
Isn’t it a Vietnamese salad called “bún bò xáo”?
Romain Louis inspired by that dish for sure Romain!
bún bò xào*. I think it's a vermicelli dish instead of salad. Vietnamese also often stir fries a generous amount of sliced brown/red onions with the beef.
Yes, it’s said that way! I’m Vietnamese :)
Or bún bò xào sả ớt. 😊
I'm inlove with ur cooking
Hi, Marion. Do you salt the boiling water for the rice noodles? I love your channel. Thank you for offering all of these great techniques to us.
Im not marion but ill answer. No, its not pasta 😊
Ahhhh! This looks incredible.. Thanks Marion.
The fish sauce could use some minced garlic and you have to top it with crushed, roasted peanuts. Yummo!
Made this! It was awesome 👏
Is there any option for swapping the fish sauce? Thanks! Looks delicious!
I love your cooking vedio,it is so easy😘😘😘
I love how this recipe doesn’t need any LOOONG marinade time neither the beef or the carrot pickle !
So fresh and such appetizing looking !
I’m going to definitely try this.
Thank you for the recipe ! 👍🏻
Are you using vermicelli noodles? Thank you, i like your channel so much👌
So delicious thank you!!
Made this tonight! It actually took over an hour to make, but it was good.
Try making stir fried rice vermicelli very similar in the method of making egg noodles stir fry in the philippines we call it bihon (rice vermicelli)
Whats the best way to save the noodles and reheat them for later?
That’s look so good I would try to make this
That looks sooooo gooooood
I cant wait to try this - minus the bean sprouts. Looks positively divine! I can't say how pleased I am to finally have a cooking channel where I have all the ingredients at home, all the time. And if I run out, the shop is just a 2 minute walk away!
Marion you know how hard it is for most of us to get lemongrass. What can I substitute?
Delicious. You use vermicelli often. Will you show us how to make crispy fried rice for Chinese chicken salad?
I meant fried rice vermicelli for Chinese chicken salad.
Looks good
You look way better and soo beautiful like this with your hair done and no makeup and red lipstick
Soaking my vermicelli in cold water didn't work for me but I came up with another solution so they don't clump... However its very controversial... I cook the noodles then give a quick chop through with the scissors. Works really well!
What soup should I use if I wanted a wet version?
Amazing

👉 THANK FOR YOUR SHOW .
Interesting recipe.
Love your hair like this
Thanks ..... I'm going to the market
Any suggestions for what you could use instead of fish sauce?
Soy sauce. However fish sauce offers a deeper flavor
Can you show pictures of the vinegar and fish sauce you use in your dish. There are different kinds of fish sauce with different flavors
Name " BUN BO XAO " so yummy
yummy again : )
Any preferred fish sauce brands/country of origin to use for a salad dish like this? Some fish sauces are super salty and dark and some the opposite

@@Marionskitchen thanks
Red boat brand is the best fish sauce right now.
Marion could cook literal dirt and muk and it would still look irresistibly delicious.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pleaseeeeeee make pho xao
Missed cilantro or coriander
Nice eeeeeeeee

Is there a good substitute for the chilies in the dressing? I am allergic to chili peppers.
dreyhawk you could just leave them out for this one 👌

Ratty S she used fish sauce to marinate already
@@tuhongan okies... I didn't know... Fish sauce is a substitute for salt..

Is this the Vietnamese bun bo nam bo?
Am the 100th comment :]]
Hi Marion! I am such a big fan of your videos. Hope to see your beautiful face without the somewhat gigantic glasses someday!
just cuz it has carrot, cucumber, and fish sauce - doesnt make it a salad. This is like a soup without the broth.
0:41 softer -> Softe'! It seems she tried hard on British/Australian accent
You lost me when you left in the chopped lemongrass. Might as well put some cardboard in at the end.
Hate those glasses
Agian. Its basil not Basel!
