What a bummer, Hopefully you did not hurt too bad the next day. I laid mine down today too. Not as dramatic as yours, but I thought my battery was a goner. I had velcro straps on mine so I think that saved it and kept it from popping off. These big batteries are very heavy, the mounts are strong up and down but kind of lacking when you go from the side. Be safe 😀
Thanks! Ya it’s a little bruised but healing nicely. This happened a couple days ago. Ya I’ll be putting the Velcro straps on these heavy batteries from now on. I road it 25 miles yesterday so the battery seems to be fine just cosmetic damage luckily.
@@WyomingRider Something a little better than velcro to look at is titan/voile straps. Work great for extra battery security and nice to have on the bike for many other things! I use them for all kinds of stuff.
Feel better, hopefully you have a fast and smooth recovery! First time I road the Billy Goat I fell off pretty hard. Just glad I didn't go flying over the handle bars.
Glad i saw this just got my motor goat and pulling out the ties as i type lol .. and for the record that road was hella rough bro im so glad you ok my friend
Same thing happened to me today - battery popped off my power goat. Fortunately it seems like only cosmetic damage and scrapes to the bike and brake lever. I hope nothing internal got messed up. The locking system isn’t great, maybe they should use more pins instead of the 1 cylinder.
Sorry to hear it happened to you too. Ya so far mine is ok too. Just scraped up on the outside. Ya there definitely needs to be a better locking system. Ideally I think the batteries need to be in the frame so it can’t pop out like that. Seems to be the way most of the higher end bikes are going now.
Great to see you were able to catch yourself... I'll suggest to keep the strap on specially off road, not good for battery to be hitting the ground, then internal components are fragile... great set up you have, ride safe partner... new sub, thnx for the videos 🤩😍💯👍👍👊
Thank You! me too. Defiantly will be keeping it strapped down from now on! I was really worried it may have damaged the battery, but I fully charged it and rode it 25 miles yesterday and so far it's doing good.
It's safe! just strap the battery if you plan on going over really rough terrain just to be safe. Could happen to any bike with that battery design. It's not really meant to be an offroad bike. I can't say 100% for sure if maybe the battery didn't lock in the cradle properly. I always shake it before I ride to be sure it's not loose, but still a chance it was. Just wanted to be sure everyone knew this is a thing that can happen. I just hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Really, not for dirt roads? The official Goat Power Bikes YT Channel shows them dirt riding off road and jumping way more aggressively than just cruising down a gravel road with an occasional washboard. Other sales videos of theirs show them riding down 2 flights of stairs, wheelieing and jumping off a loading dock. Go figure

Thanks man!
Glad you ok. Nice job catching yourself. Pretty good reflexes there.
Thank you! Glad I was able to as well. That battery went right under the bike.

@@nemohunter87 Thanks so much for the suggestion. I'll check those out.
Glad your alright! Be safe out there.
Me too. Ya I'm defiantly more careful on those dirt roads now. You lived here so you know how these roads are lol.
Glad you didn't get hurt too bad. You caught yourself really well. Good job!
Thanks! So thankful I didn’t go tumbling!
It looks like you applied the front brakes as well, and the front wheel slid out from under you.
Just subbed!
Thanks for subbing! Ya it caught me off guard for sure. I hit the brakes when I felt that battery hit my shin. Just happened so fast.
Glad you're alright! Be safe out there buddy.I fell off of my Billy Goat about a month ago. fracture my wrist and elbow.

Thank you! I’m glad too. Ya I won’t be riding on that roads anymore even with the ties on it lol. Just not with the risk.
Wow, that could have been worse. Nice job of handling a bad situation
Thanks Jerry! Ya was not expecting that to happen for sure! These dirt roads are crazy rough! Definitely need something more robust for that lol.
That was a close one!
Thanks Randy! Ya it was totally unexpected lol!

GOAT DOWN
lol yep!
Will knobbies help any?
They might. Use that along with the straps.
Now I don't know
You and Bruce are trying to kill your Goats. Glad you saved it
lol. I think it's trying to tell me it hates dirt roads.
Rough road.....glad u r ok..
Thanks. Me too! Maybe I'll stick to the rough paved roads on my Power Goat.
@@WyomingRider ...i love the paved trails the best....i am old.....

You got wrecked dawg!!
Na, that wasn't too bad.. you got pretty lucky
Thanks for watching! Ya i got really lucky.
Thanks for the video! Hopefully the solution will help others as well. 🙂
Thanks! I hope so too! Lot of bikes with this type of battery mount out there.
Have you thought about airing down the tires? Also changing suspension settings?
I have the tires at 20 psi. Those rear shocks are really stiff. I might change them out for some air shocks.
Scary part is that you were riding carefully, only around 20 mph, and very mindful of the road.
I’m glad I was. It could have been much worse. Thanks so much for watching!
8:49 panic brake
lol ya it happens when a 20 lbs battery smacks you in the shin and rolls under the bike.
I'm wondering that happened due to stiff rear shocks? Those are rated 500lbs which is too stiff in my opinion. Good thing is you are ok. 👍
Thanks! Ya they are defiantly stiff. Thinking about swapping them out. I'll rarely have 2 people on it.
ouch
Exactly!
Beautiful view!
It's so beautiful here right now!
@@WyomingRider ..what are the yellow flowers?
a battery should not be able to fallout because of a bumpy road wth....-.-
I never thought that could happen either, but ya popped out hit me in the shin and rolled under the bike.
Great idea with the strap....what r they?

It’s not meant for off road Einstein. These bikes are for lazy simps around city streets.
lol we all know that, but not everyone has that option when you live in rural areas.
Its not for dirt road man.
Nope lesson learned!
