    Still considering upgrade, glad you made this deep dive - this is how reviews are supposed to be made - kudos!

    YOU ARE THE MAN! This video has prevented me from taking my QR2 apart, just to see how it works. Sharing this with a friend.

    Amazing review, and brilliant to see the customisations and mods you have made yourself. Youve earned a like and subscribe from me. Hoping to see you making some of the mods in other vids

    I have 2 QR1 and they made a freaking dam metallic noise while driving, they were both noisy and clunky. I’ve update one to the new QR2 and my CSL DD feels a lot different, it’s much more stable, no noise at all!! Unfortunately I was only able to buy one QR2 because it’s freaking expensive to buy this stuff in Brazil… but if your QR1 is noisy and it bothers you, then the QR2 is the way to go! Your video is the only one that I saw that disassemble it, nice!!! Tks!

      Problem with qr1 is the aluminum threads easily destroy themselves from the torque and end up making noise when they loosen. Bad design, fanatec should not still be selling it..

    Hi, Is posible to use a converted Fanatec wheel ( as your F1) with a Fanatec wheel-base to avoid disconnection troubles?

    Awesome custom work. I've been telling my better half, that there are no teardown videos of the QR2. I kept saying I should make one. But you beat me to it, mainly because I was too lazy too. Also, tell me more about that F1 wheel with the electroplated chrome. Is that how it actually came? Or did you have that done?

      I had some custom work for a client and I had it electroplated along with some other plastic parts I made for him, also made the QR green with some other green parts I had to make. Thought it will look cool as it is silver. That was way back in the day I did not even had a RUclips channel. Thinking about customizing my QR2's though. :)

    I have qr1 setup, i know there is some play between my wheel and base but i do not notice it while using it. I thought about buying the qr2 just to keep up with the lastest and greatest but i thought about it "for what?", the current set up feels fine to me.

      The only real valid reason beside better feeling would be better longetivity of the QR connector.

    I prefer the QR2 however a cheap workaround for the QR1 is to Bore an M6 size hole through the QR1 and the shaft (woth the electronic base taken out) and the M6 bolt slots in and holds everything firmly as it threads through the QR1 and Shaft.

      Then you don't have quick release anymore, you have slow release. :)

      @@T.S.CUSTOM QR1 was never really a quick release in the first place. It always had some play

    • @T.S.CUSTOM
      @T.S.CUSTOM  5 месяцев назад

      @@strovich Yes, true that. Fanatec have been stuck with it for soooooo long. That is the price when you don't want to break backwards compatibility.

      @@T.S.CUSTOM it's funny because you look at other brands in the category that have proper releases and it doesn't cost any money to upgrade because it's standard lol

      It was for turning on bluetooth module for communication with computer. A project that never got to live any further than testing.

    as i always say those who spend a penny wont leave the eco system they invested. fanatec will always be problemic therefore not the system you want to invest for future proof. dont be fooled by the bells and whistles rather custom gear than a eco system

    • @T.S.CUSTOM
      @T.S.CUSTOM  4 месяца назад

      At least on this channel you have a lot of videos explaining how to release yourself from the eco system. Lots more videos planned to do about it.

    When an outfit like Fanatec cant even get a quick release right from the get go, better to look elsewhere in my opinion.
