Achilles come down is so unbelievably beautiful and sad but in the poetic way that makes you want to cry but at the same time have the widest smile on your face. Also Greek mythology is just so weird how can you not love it?
@@violetfaustes6676 depends on what you know/want to know, if you want me to tell you stuff- but if you just search greek mythology you should get a lot of myths and stuff and yes a lot of them will be slightly different variations of the same stories but because it's mythology no one really knows the right version so you can pick which one you believe
@@robynflame5473 No you can't "pick", mythology is allegory and even if it wasn't picking whatever version you prefer is stupid, it's how we ended up with a bunch of idiots only knowing Ovids versions despite him basically writing roman mythology counterparts and him being Roman in the first place.
only bad thing about achilles come down is I can't listen to it without wanting to cry, but I love the song so much and want to listen to it all the time too :')
I grew up on Ancient Greek Mythology tales that my mom would read to me every night since I was born, as she later told me once I was old enough to understand. It was almost embarrassing that I didn't learn of the classic kids' fairytales until I went to school. To anyone interested in listening to music inspired by Ancient Greece, I'd suggest giving a band called Daemonia Nymphe a chance. Their music is the kind that sings to the mythological hero in your soul!
i was literally the same but like 2 months ago I suddenly became a greek mythology girlie because of one song and just started to get into it more and more its a lot but very fun.
I know some, enough to make random references that a lot of people don't get. But not a whole lot, doesn't mean I don't love it, I try to take time to learn a little bit about it here and there.
If you want to learn, read Percy Jackson! It will take a while and keep you occupied. Once you finish that, read Heroes of Olympus (same author). Then, Trials of Apollo. THEN SUN AND THE STAR!
When I listen to Achilles, come down I simultaneously feel like I'm living a Greek Tragedy and a Harry Potter cross over fanfiction. I physically cannot function when listening to this song, that's how much it relaxes me.
book recs for you guys if you love greek mythology, but girl power style: Elektra by Jennifer Saint, Circe by Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Ariadne by Jennifer Saint, The Silence of the girls by Pat Barker, A thousand ships by Natalie Haynes. I've read all of these and I highly recommend!
They sound wonderful! I just have to finish Percy Jackson. Especially since I got distracted by Lore Olympus (100% recommend if you haven’t read the series!).
Everyone knows The story of how Icarus fell But do they know the story Of how his father kept soaring Until he reached his destination? Do they know, he found the Grey The spot in the middle between the burning Light And the cold Dark Do they know, how we wished to fall To join his son In the cruel darkness That often comes after the blinding light Do they know how the sun called to him To be higher than the Gods Do they know How he had to accept The brutal truth That to live Sometimes you must find the middle And fly
I love what Achilles Come Down is about. It talks about darker subjects, but it also tells that you don't have to be alone in the suffering. There is always someone out there willing to help you. All you need to do is what you can do, even if that is staying in bed all day.
As a Greek myself, I really appreciate this playlist…Greek mythology is really beautiful and interesting and I’m glad we were learning at history class in 4th grade abt it…wish we would still do it and learn more. Thanks again for this playlist!
Yes! Although, disappointingly, my 6th grade teacher never taught us about Greek Mythology. It was almost the end of the year & we were on…Egypt? Yeah, we never even touched Greece. Thankfully, this led me down the road to finding a hobby in just enjoying the loveliness (and weirdness) that is in Greek Mythology. It’s very interesting to learn about, even if you have to do that on your own time.
@@Grim_Ghost589 aww i wish ur teacher talked to u guys abt greek mythology it’s amazing!! i remember at the end of 6th grade our teacher made us go into groups and we all had to put on a skit for each story. i was the only one in my group who knew the stories 😅 and picked hades and persephone but when it was the day to present i got sick😞 i wish i didn’t cause that’s my favorite story lmaoo
Does anyone understands how much in love I am with Two Men In Love?? It's so beautiful that I wanna cry. That song is THE song of all the times, it gives a poetic, soft, romantic vibe of life around me and it fits so well with the greek mythology vibes I know this song for months and I never get sick of it and never will 🤧❤🔥
As a Percy Jackson fan this is amazing! I know they are fantasy books but Percy Jackson made me really interested in greek mythology and i am very thankful for that💖 Friendly reminder, if you like greek mythology you should give the Percy Jackson saga a try, it has so many good characters😊
Achilles Achilles... He'll forever be my favorite greek god, well... Demi-god. His story in The song of Achilles made me melt like the snow in spring. The way he'd do anything for his lover Patroclus has me believe in goodness and love. The way he wasn't only fighting his enemy for his ego, but for the ones he love. His hope in becoming the first happy hero everyone will admire and his beautiful way to talk. I could talk about that boy and his pretty golden hair for hours. He's also pretty realistic to real life, he's not like the others. He's, different and special. Sometimes, the think of him make me want all of these greek mythology to exist. I wish he lived, i wish his story was true. I'm sure of if he was real he'd change the aspects of life for everyone, i hope people will figure out how much he deserve the attention of the world. I'm rambling in my talk right now, but i cant stop talking Achilles, and of course, Patroclus my dear. They both deserve better.
No way! I has no idea how much he reminds me of myself… I hardly knew anything from him and the things I heard where that he was ruthless, but thats not true right? After all, I also just want to be different from others, for the better! I just want to be a hero to all and show everyone how important you can be to people when you are happy.
@@F1guRas yes, Achilles is honestly kind of ruthless. But he IS the son of Thetis and his mom never was rlly passionate or yk that stuff. Although he could have decided to change but meh. I like Achilles but he is not the good guy in any story. Though, the only person he isn’t ruthless with is his lover Patroclus which is actually good. With all the Greek relationships of abuse and rape, Achilles is the most gently and kind lover I’d say.
"Where you go, I'm going So jump and I'm jumping Since there is no me without you." I just read TSoA a few days and OHMYGODS can I just say that I LOVE Patroclus' character and they made Achilles so gentle towards his lover? Lowkey gave vibes of "I'll burn down the world for you"
The song of Achilles is gay fanfiction at best, people who care about Greek history and mythology aren't the ones reading that dumbass revisionist book.
@@kostasbiker9302 People who care about Greek history should notice that the Homer's book was written about 400 years after the Trojan War and Homer had no idea about those times, so The Iliad is a fanfiction itself, just without gays.
@@kreatywnynick4406 Regardless of that Homer was the first to write (that we know of anyway) so anything after that is basically preference of storytelling with no basis.
@@kostasbiker9302 you can just say you don't like the book?? I am genuinely interested to hear why, though. Also, saying that everyone who has read it doesn't care about Greek history is a very fast way to discredit your argument. Very rarely can you look at a piece of media and say that everyone who's interacted with it doesn't care about what it's supposed to be about. Sorry this turned out longer than I meant it to be, but yeah, I'd honestly like to know the reason why you don't like it since I thought it was great (same as Miller's other book, Circe)
@@kostasbiker9302 adding on to my other reply: that doesn't make it bad. There's a lot we don't know about the ancient Greeks and their stories. While very few retellings are totally accurate, people can still enjoy them. That said, people are also allowed to not enjoy them. Miller explains this quite well at the end of the book with the acknowledgements.
Achilles, Come Down (Gang of Youths) Lyrics: 0:00 Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof? You're scaring us and all of us, some of us love you Achilles, it's not much but there's proof You crazy-assed cosmonaut, remember your virtue Redemption lies plainly in truth Just humour us, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof? The self is not so weightless, nor whole and unbroken Remember the pact of our youth Where you go, I'm going, so jump and I'm jumping Since there is no me without you Soldier on, Achilles, Achilles, come down Won't you get up off, get up off the roof? Loathe the way they light candles in Rome But love the sweet air of the votives Hurt and grieve but don't suffer alone Engage with the pain as a motive Today of all days, see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you'll rise above Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, jump now You are absent of cause or excuse So self-indulgent and self-referential No audience could ever want you You crave the applause yet hate the attention Then miss it, your act is a ruse It is empty, Achilles, so end it all now It's a pointless resistance for you Achilles, Achilles, just put down the bottle Don't listen to what you've consumed It's chaos, confusion and wholly unworthy Of feeding and it's wholly untrue You may feel no purpose nor a point for existing It's all just conjecture and gloom And there may not be meaning, so find one and seize it Do not waste yourself on this roof Hear those bells ring deep in the soul Chiming away for a moment Feel your breath course frankly below And see life as a worthy opponent Today of all days, see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you'll rise above Crowned by an overture bold and beyond Ah, it's more courageous to overcome You want the acclaim, the mother of mothers (It's not worth it, Achilles) More poignant than fame or the taste of another (Don't listen, Achilles) But be real and just jump, you dense motherfucker (You're worth more, Achilles) You will not be more than a rat in the gutter (So much more than a rat) You want my opinion, my opinion you've got (No one asked your opinion) You asked for my counsel, I gave you my thoughts (No one asked for your thoughts) Be done with this now and jump off the roof (Be done with this now and get off the roof) Can you hear me, Achilles? I'm talking to you I'm talking to you I'm talking to you I'm talking to you Achilles, come down Achilles, come down Throw yourself into the unknown With pace and a fury defiant Clothe yourself in beauty untold And see life as a means to a triumph Today of all days, see How the most dangerous thing is to love How you will heal and you'll rise above Crowned by an overture bold and beyond Ah, it's more courageous to overcome Midas (Skott) Lyrics: 7:05 Midas, you've got me thinking 'bout the story You've everything you've ever wanted But will you ever get to hold me? Doesn't it get lonely? And Midas, you're used to hearing that you're something Above the ordinary, golden You wanna be the one and only Doesn't it get lonely? But you won't get away with it No, you won't get away with it 'cause I I look at you, I'm seeing that you're just as lost as I Know, I'm not afraid of it No, I'm not afraid to close my eyes Oh, how I wish that there's was a way that we could Always, always live for always Till we die together Say you want to be here You wanna be young You wanna be my love Always be in my love Say that you remember Feeling the same about me Midas, you've got me thinking 'bout the legends You know you'll join 'em up in heaven But if you stay with me, no hurry I will make it worth it Midas, you're like a monument, a statue No man on earth could ever hurt you No, you don't ever have to worry Why do I still worry? And you won't get away with it No, you won't get away with it 'cause I I look at you, I'm seeing that there's something in your eyes Saying you're afraid of it Saying you're afraid of passing time Oh, how I wish that there's was a way that we could Always, always live for always Till we die together Say you want to be here You wanna be young You wanna be my love Always be in my love Say that you remember Feeling the same about me Always, always live for always Till we die together Say you want to be here You wanna be young You wanna be my love Always be in my love Say that you remember Feeling the same about me Icarus & Apollo (Ripto) Lyrics: 11:05 Apollo showed me the sun Told me not to fly too close Or else I would be one With the people on the land Icarus, show me the moon Point me in a new direction Far away from you Avoiding all the aftermath Daylight shuffles in Cascading through the open door And dancing on your lips Where you held your cigarette I remember when You told me you were afraid to die And then you grabbed my hand Just above the kitchen table So, Apollo, bring me back To the place I was before I met you And Icarus, lead the way To where I need to go I hear your footsteps now Barefoot soles on the bathroom floor And on my way out I told you I would never leave
I have been obsessed with Greek mythology since I was 7, so this is just the best playlist ever. All the other ones kind of sound dumb together, but this one is just ethereal, and not only that, it has 3 of my favorite songs!!! Thank you so much for making this!
My sister has a really bad version of homesickness, which I think is seperation anxiety, whenever it gets to her (I'm talking full on panic atack and tears at worst) I read about the greek gods to her and story's from the Greek mythology. I choose story's with a lot of people with difficult names 'cause it gets her laughing.
Heavy Metal is awesome🙌 but I had to stop listening to it because I used to listen to it on full blast in my headphones, and now my ears a permanently damaged 👌 (I type a lot😅)
Achilles Come Down got me started on greek mythology SONGS, but then the songs got me started on research and lessons, and here I am now, Favourting Diyonsus and Icarus
I listened to this during one of my hardest night shifts at the hospital. It was around 4 am, I got myself some time to read and decided to listen to your playlist. I’m addicted to this playlist since then, and it feels so nostalgic even if it has not been even that long from my initial listening hahah. Thank you for creating this. As a Greek mythology nerd I love this! 🤍
the melody of persefone by tamino from the very first listening feels like lying on the top of the tribune at the huge empty stadion and watching lurid august sunset. it's calm and tense at the same moment and I can do nothing with this feeling of strange serenity and hopelessness oh-
ı named my cat after achilles and listening the first song with my cat in my lap while I'm drawing was the most enjoyable thing today, thank you for the playlist
Whenever I see a greek mythology inspired playlist I always expect to see Achilles Come down on it. And it always is, but I am always happy to listen to it. Tbh I'd be disappointed in any greek mythos playlist that DIDN'T have it.
I've always liked Greek Mythology but after highschool is when my obession with it really hit. Like man, this playlist really hits the part of me that loves music and Greek Mythology, so it's perfect.
so “Achilles, Come Down” became THE song for me and my first real love and i think it’s especially heartbreaking considering how things ended because we still love each other, but events in life pulled us apart and we both met each other at what we thought was our darkest point…and anytime one of us was struggling we would write “soldier on, Achilles” on each others wrists, and now i write it on my own wrist and wonder if he does the same.
I am going to need another mythology playlist please and thank you! In all seriousness, I love this. The playlist as a whole is perfect and I'd love to hear more. I would love another Greek mythology playlist, but I would also love your take on Norse and Egyptian Mythology playlists!
For Norse mythology and music, the first thing that comes to mind is Heilung. They're absolutely incredible and we were even fortunate enough to see them live--best performance I've _ever_ enjoyed, period.
It's crazy seeing people interested in my country's mythology so much. It is really nice to see people willing to learn more about something that you are so familiar with. I have to study mythology and learn ancient greek at school, and I find this playlist very comforting.
Thank you so much for this. I just finished reading The Song Of Achilles and I am now lost in a depression because of it 😭 This playlist is helping me process all the emotions that are overwhelming me. It’s like a hollow despair of sadness and depression that I don’t know how or if I will ever come out of.. I’ve had real life crises that I’ve had to go to therapy for and I just cant believe a book has thrown me back into a state that I thought only a traumatic ‘real life’ experience could ever make someone feel. It is so deep and raw.
I finished this book last summer, and I still can't recover from it 🥲 The story is so beautifully written, and it was just what I needed back then. To make the experience more real, I was reading the book during my vacation in Greece 😂 It feels better to know that I am not the only one getting so excited over fiction, but these emotions can hurt so much sometimes 😭
Hey everyone, it's nice to see how many people like Greco-Roman mythology! Where I'm from there's a kind of school that focuses on classical studies, so we study ancient Greek and Latin as well as classical literature and culture. It's a difficult kind of school but it's so worth it, to be able to actually read the Iliad or the Odyssey, but also the tragedies, comedies and poems in general. I encourage you to discover what the past has in hold for you; only the gods know how much beauty and how much philosophy is out there waiting to be enjoyed by yet another soul, eager to make you grow, to confort you and gift you emotions from 2500 years ago. Beware though, most myths are quite raw, as they reflect human nature; so do not expect song of Achilles or Percy Jackson family friendly stuff. So yeah, go to the library and contribute to the immortality of ancient gods, heroes and poets; because it's thanks to us, the readers, that they are still alive to this day
the amount of nostalgia i felt during and after watching this is soo intense oml, i had an obsession with greek mytho back then but fell out cuz of my sched TVT love your playlist
Just watched Troy (2004) for the first time. I loved it so much. There was so much loss involved. Achilles losing Patroclus. Paris losing Hector. I really connected with the charcaters. Greek Mythology always fascinated me as a child and it still does.
Yo, c'est des extraits des premières pages du Mythe de Sysiphe d'Albert Camus, qui parle du suicide justement. Chapeau à eux de l'avoir aussi bien intégré dans leur chanson, c'est magnifique !
I wish i knew more about greek mythology i have read a few books based off of it but that isnt much but i love these types of playlists they either make me feel empowered make me want to cry or just deeply resonate with me in some way
If it weren't for this playlist just randomly showing up in my my suggested I would have never gotten the idea for my first art project in literal years. Thank you.
Achilles Come Down has made me cook up so many mini stories in my head when I listen to it, my favorite probably is that Achilles is the man on the roof (obviously), Potrochilies (I think that’s how u spell his name) is the voice that’s begging him to come down, and Hector is the voice telling him to jump, then it’s just a back and forth between Potrochilies and Hector kind of taking over Achilles’ head while Achilles is fighting himself on the roof. What do yall think tho?
i found this playlist while i randomly searched for a playlist to listen to while i did my college work. I've never been super into Greek Mythology, but this has made me really want to get into it. i now listen to this playlist all the time while working on my college PowerPoints as it feels very hypnotic and helps me focus.
The Persephone song actually paints Hades and Persephone as the romantic tragedy it is and I love it. Thanks so much for making this Playlist, I wish nothing but the best for u ❤
He stood upon the precipice, upon a cliff of dizzying descent with a fall into raging waters and jagged granite spears. Or was it a another kind of precipice? That of deranged lucidity, a paradox, understanding amidst the madness of it all. Blood spattered his form. His flesh, sculpted as if from marble, was tainted by ichor of lesser men. But were they truly lesser? They must have been, they had lost, and he had won after all. Is that not so? He glanced back at the carnage he had wrought, at the tomes of untold stories left behind in the corpses of his foes. "Perhaps it isn't so." His voice was as smooth as honey, salted with the dregs of Olympus itself. *"We liken you to a painting, did you know? Strokes of ink belaying what it is to be so utterly mortal."* He turned, eyeing the green-feathered owl perched upon the rocks nearby. "You again..." He shook his head. "I am no painting." *"Then what are you?"* The wind howled as if in mourning. It carried with it the stench of death, and tragedy... and *war* . "A museum," he replied softly. "A museum of all the things I wish to forget." The creature did not respond, only watching as the soldier wrenched his sarissa free from the rock he had embed it in. Watching as he turned away from the cliff's edge, and walked towards the sounds of ringing steel and dying men once more.

I don't know alot about Greek mythology but I know alittle, so same 😔💪
i was literally the same but like 2 months ago I suddenly became a greek mythology girlie because of one song and just started to get into it more and more its a lot but very fun.

When I listen to Achilles I feel like my brain is being massaged by the melody.

When I listen to Achilles, come down I simultaneously feel like I'm living a Greek Tragedy and a Harry Potter cross over fanfiction. I physically cannot function when listening to this song, that's how much it relaxes me.
book recs for you guys if you love greek mythology, but girl power style:
Elektra by Jennifer Saint, Circe by Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Ariadne by Jennifer Saint, The Silence of the girls by Pat Barker, A thousand ships by Natalie Haynes.
I've read all of these and I highly recommend!
Bless your soul, I was looking for new book recs😃🙏

Everyone knows
The story of how Icarus fell
But do they know the story
Of how his father kept soaring
Until he reached his destination?
Do they know, he found the Grey
The spot in the middle between the burning Light
And the cold Dark
Do they know, how we wished to fall
To join his son
In the cruel darkness
That often comes after the blinding light
Do they know how the sun called to him
To be higher than the Gods
Do they know
How he had to accept
The brutal truth
That to live
Sometimes you must find the middle
And fly
I might be crying rn omg
I'm italian but feel from greek mythology in a way so yes I love it too
@@Grim_Ghost589 aww i wish ur teacher talked to u guys abt greek mythology it’s amazing!! i remember at the end of 6th grade our teacher made us go into groups and we all had to put on a skit for each story. i was the only one in my group who knew the stories 😅 and picked hades and persephone but when it was the day to present i got sick😞 i wish i didn’t cause that’s my favorite story lmaoo
Does anyone understands how much in love I am with Two Men In Love?? It's so beautiful that I wanna cry. That song is THE song of all the times, it gives a poetic, soft, romantic vibe of life around me and it fits so well with the greek mythology vibes

Achilles calls.
HIIII
"Where you go, I'm going
So jump and I'm jumping
Since there is no me without you."
I just read TSoA a few days and OHMYGODS can I just say that I LOVE Patroclus' character and they made Achilles so gentle towards his lover? Lowkey gave vibes of "I'll burn down the world for you"
Your sublime comment just made me, if I may borrow your own eloquence for but a moment, "melt like the snow in Spring." 🥀
@@hajrahsiddiqi5915 honestly it's probably a more realistic depiction of Achilles than Tsoa...
To anyone who wants another song that might remind you of The Song of Achilles or Greek mythology in general, try Poet by Bastille!
Achilles, Come Down (Gang of Youths) Lyrics: 0:00
Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down
Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?
You're scaring us and all of us, some of us love you
Achilles, it's not much but there's proof
You crazy-assed cosmonaut, remember your virtue
Redemption lies plainly in truth
Just humour us, Achilles, Achilles, come down
Won't you get up off, get up off the roof
Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, come down
Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?
The self is not so weightless, nor whole and unbroken
Remember the pact of our youth
Where you go, I'm going, so jump and I'm jumping
Since there is no me without you
Soldier on, Achilles, Achilles, come down
Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?
Loathe the way they light candles in Rome
But love the sweet air of the votives
Hurt and grieve but don't suffer alone
Engage with the pain as a motive
Today of all days, see
How the most dangerous thing is to love
How you will heal and you'll rise above
Achilles, Achilles, Achilles, jump now
You are absent of cause or excuse
So self-indulgent and self-referential
No audience could ever want you
You crave the applause yet hate the attention
Then miss it, your act is a ruse
It is empty, Achilles, so end it all now
It's a pointless resistance for you
Achilles, Achilles, just put down the bottle
Don't listen to what you've consumed
It's chaos, confusion and wholly unworthy
Of feeding and it's wholly untrue
You may feel no purpose nor a point for existing
It's all just conjecture and gloom
And there may not be meaning, so find one and seize it
Do not waste yourself on this roof
Hear those bells ring deep in the soul
Chiming away for a moment
Feel your breath course frankly below
And see life as a worthy opponent
Today of all days, see
How the most dangerous thing is to love
How you will heal and you'll rise above
Crowned by an overture bold and beyond
Ah, it's more courageous to overcome
You want the acclaim, the mother of mothers
(It's not worth it, Achilles)
More poignant than fame or the taste of another
(Don't listen, Achilles)
But be real and just jump, you dense motherfucker
(You're worth more, Achilles)
You will not be more than a rat in the gutter
(So much more than a rat)
You want my opinion, my opinion you've got
(No one asked your opinion)
You asked for my counsel, I gave you my thoughts
(No one asked for your thoughts)
Be done with this now and jump off the roof
(Be done with this now and get off the roof)
Can you hear me, Achilles? I'm talking to you
I'm talking to you
I'm talking to you
I'm talking to you
Achilles, come down
Achilles, come down
Throw yourself into the unknown
With pace and a fury defiant
Clothe yourself in beauty untold
And see life as a means to a triumph
Today of all days, see
How the most dangerous thing is to love
How you will heal and you'll rise above
Crowned by an overture bold and beyond
Ah, it's more courageous to overcome
Midas (Skott) Lyrics: 7:05
Midas, you've got me thinking 'bout the story
You've everything you've ever wanted
But will you ever get to hold me?
Doesn't it get lonely?
And Midas, you're used to hearing that you're something
Above the ordinary, golden
You wanna be the one and only
Doesn't it get lonely?
But you won't get away with it
No, you won't get away with it 'cause I
I look at you, I'm seeing that you're just as lost as I
Know, I'm not afraid of it
No, I'm not afraid to close my eyes
Oh, how I wish that there's was a way that we could
Always, always live for always
Till we die together
Say you want to be here
You wanna be young
You wanna be my love
Always be in my love
Say that you remember
Feeling the same about me
Midas, you've got me thinking 'bout the legends
You know you'll join 'em up in heaven
But if you stay with me, no hurry
I will make it worth it
Midas, you're like a monument, a statue
No man on earth could ever hurt you
No, you don't ever have to worry
Why do I still worry?
And you won't get away with it
No, you won't get away with it 'cause I
I look at you, I'm seeing that there's something in your eyes
Saying you're afraid of it
Saying you're afraid of passing time
Oh, how I wish that there's was a way that we could
Always, always live for always
Till we die together
Say you want to be here
You wanna be young
You wanna be my love
Always be in my love
Say that you remember
Feeling the same about me
Always, always live for always
Till we die together
Say you want to be here
You wanna be young
You wanna be my love
Always be in my love

Icarus & Apollo (Ripto) Lyrics: 11:05
Apollo showed me the sun
Told me not to fly too close
Or else I would be one
With the people on the land
Icarus, show me the moon
Point me in a new direction
Far away from you
Avoiding all the aftermath
Daylight shuffles in
Cascading through the open door
And dancing on your lips
Where you held your cigarette
I remember when
You told me you were afraid to die
And then you grabbed my hand
Just above the kitchen table
So, Apollo, bring me back
To the place I was before I met you
And Icarus, lead the way
To where I need to go
I hear your footsteps now
Barefoot soles on the bathroom floor
And on my way out
I told you I would never leave
Me, finding a modern song about Achilies
This is how i met your father.

so “Achilles, Come Down” became THE song for me and my first real love and i think it’s especially heartbreaking considering how things ended because we still love each other, but events in life pulled us apart and we both met each other at what we thought was our darkest point…and anytime one of us was struggling we would write “soldier on, Achilles” on each others wrists, and now i write it on my own wrist and wonder if he does the same.

Omg so did I. I started crying at cpt . 31

What do yall think tho?
its Patroclus according to mythology

I just know about a little bit of greek mythology but let me assure anyone who may come here LISTEN TO IT DAMN IT.
Strokes of ink belaying what it is to be so utterly mortal."*
He turned, eyeing the green-feathered owl perched upon the rocks nearby. "You again..." He shook his head. "I am no painting."
*"Then what are you?"*
The wind howled as if in mourning. It carried with it the stench of death, and tragedy... and *war* .
"A museum," he replied softly. "A museum of all the things I wish to forget."
The creature did not respond, only watching as the soldier wrenched his sarissa free from the rock he had embed it in. Watching as he turned away from the cliff's edge, and walked towards the sounds of ringing steel and dying men once more.
This is beautiful...is this from a book? If so then I would love to know which one :)

Persephone (Tamino) Lyrics: 14:05
Yes my love, I confess to you
I am only here to break your heart in two
The very flower you chose that day
Its only task was to decay
You see?
When I watched your first bathing
I only warned you with a lowered voice
"Be wary of my river's undertow
It flows with water from the coldest source"
Did you hear?
And then I made sure
You would always return
You still know of dawn
But you always return
When you hid under my black wings
They couldn't have protected you from anything
Once in flight they would have let go
You would have once again wound up below
Only broken
Indeed, it's wrong to keep you near me
One could call me cruel and deceiving
But in your sacred air I am full of light
Your loving arms are the true delight
To which I'm lost
And you've noticed it
There is something right here
You have come to love, yes you've come to love
What you always will fear
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Yes, my love, I confess to you
I've nothing but the means to break your heart in two
My part in yours may seem important now
But with every spring it will seem so small
Just for now I am your fall
I am your fall
I am your fall
Aphrodite (Honey Gentry) Lyrics: 19:15
Aphrodite, hear my prayer
Sunset rays in my golden hair
Palm tree dreams in my words and songs
How can my pleas be so wrong
Aphrodite, hear my pain
I want to fall in love again
Not in love with a man of this world
Fall in love with life itself
Aphrodite, set me free
Find a way to let me leave
As the future, it unfolds
I leave the past and turn to gold
Angel baby, I hear ur cries
Wipe those tears from ur eyes
I'll protect ur broken heart
Blossom brings you brand new start
Angel turn your eyes to the sea
Gaze upon such vast beauty
Know your prayers have been received
I work upon them while you dream
Two Men in Love (The Irrepressible) Lyrics: 22:25
If I asked you now
Will you be my prince?
Will you lay down your armour
And be with me forever?
When you open me
All the power in me moves
How you want to see
All the depths of me real
When you open me
All the power in me moves
I feel real
I love you, love you
I love you, love you
When I look into your eyes
There's a danger inside
When I see the edge
I can never hide
See me running, running, running, running, running
Running, running, running, running, running
Running, running, running, running, running
To you, from you, to you
There's a strange love inside
It's getting louder, and louder, and louder, and louder, and louder
There's a danger I can't hide
Who I am, it's who I am
It's who I am, it's who I am
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
Gonna build you up, gonna help you believe sonny
Gonna build you up, gonna help you believe sonny
It's getting louder, and louder, and louder, and louder, and louder
There's a danger I can't hide
It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
I'm in love, I'm in love
