    Honestly, about the girl who replied “yes” when he asked “is it because I’m ugly” I can guarantee you she only said that because she understood he was trying guilt trip her with the question. I’ve noticed a lot of times that it’s only the creeps who use that phrase to guilt trip after being rejected, so often so, that women will straight up say “yes” because they understand what they’re trying to do and are insulting them in retaliation for even trying it, and I don’t blame her, it’s a shitty move to begin with.

    • @Dipj01
      @Dipj01 Год назад +268

      maybe he really is ugly. Is it really hard for people (like you, charlie and many others) to accept that women (and men) do reject people based on their looks? Charlie didn't say it outright, but him immediately trying to find some other reason behind why she called him ugly alluded to this belief. And you too are cooking up all kinds of other reasons instead of the simplest one.

    • @Sanakudou
      @Sanakudou Год назад +805

      Definitely true! Sadly some younger male viewers might not understand she ONLY said yes as an “escape strategy” to get out of the far too common aggressive arguments started by men who can’t accept no for an answer.
      His accusation of implying she was vain was designed to trap her by forcing her to stay and start defending herself. He basically turned her right to say no to him into a ‘moral flaw’ to guilt trip her over. So by not indulging him and just saying yes (ending both the conversation and any chance of him trying to make her walk back her rejection to disprove the accusation) she was able to get out of that uncomfortable situation quicker.
      It genuinely didn’t matter if he accused her rejection of being based on his looks, race, age, how he smelt, etc, a woman will just say yes in order to disengage and get the hell out of there.

It’s so nice seeing people light up when you compliment their blouse, or their haircut if it’s a regular. Just as it’s nice to receive them. I remember every single one I’ve ever gotten. I recently had a customer walk past me, and she did a double take and she goes “oh my god you are so pretty.” I rang her up and felt the need to thank her and pay her a compliment of my own! And so the last compliment I remember giving to a guy was a dude with some nice, straight long hair at a gas station after I got off work. Complimenting people is one of those things that I've just learnt to be frank about, I work as a cashier in a museum. Sometimes we get a person, foreign or local, who has the nicest hair or the coolest shirt, so I just tell em. Never see them again after, and I'm happy with that.
      It makes them happy, and it makes me happy to just be open when I see something cool. Don't need to be socially good bout it either, just say what you feel when you feel it.
      Edit: My best tip is just to be genuine and straight forward about it. Had a redditor once try and compliment my portal 2 bag by trying to be funny and just throwing random lines from the game at me, I didn't get it so he just came across as a weird redditor, but like an "Oh shit, I like your portal bag" will always make me smile.

    About passing compliments, I try to give most strangers I interact with, especially minimum wage workers compliments but typically on things that aren’t about their body but like their outfit or how they did their hair. Tho I do remember a guy in my class that I told he had really pretty eyes. I made it clear I wasn’t hitting on him, as I’m a gay and taken woman, but that they were genuinely very pretty. He told me that he recently had eye surgery he had just recovered from so he really liked hearing that. I just honestly hope I make someone’s day a little bit better

I was just walking to the coffee shop from work and these two girls stopped me and said, “ excuse me, just want to tell you, you’re very beautiful.” And I said thank you, they said you’re welcome and that was it! It annoys me how people always act like it is "creepy" for a guy to ask a girl out. How am I even supposed to get a girlfriend if it's "creepy" to even ask them out? @@loz5001-dl1ym No, we're simply saying that it's awkward for ANYONE to walk up to a stranger with unilateral (obvious) intent to sleep with them/date them. In my opinion, that IS creepy because it reeks of desperation; it's also disrespectful because you're not looking at them as human beings, you're just looking at them as products/prizes to acquire. It's important to remember that there's a line between being assertive and being sleazy. Sleaziness is when you start to disrespect them.
      Assertiveness IS one of the focal points of masculinity, yes. However, one of the focal points of (sexually) successfully connecting with a girl is that you have to recognize you're own worth just as much as hers. By that, I mean that you have to acknowledge you're own intrinsic value as a human being. It's irrelevant as to how much wealth, status, or good looks that you possess; you HAVE to believe that you're good enough as a human being. Knowing that you're good enough is the kind of mentality that facilitates true confidence. Also, healthy masculinity is when a man respects a woman just as much as he respects his own masculine frame.
      You have to have confidence in yourself; women can smell your confidence (or lack thereof). That's also why they "test" you. They want to make sure that you're a man that they can feel safe with. If a man doesn't have genuine confidence, he might end up being controlling, obsessive, dangerous, etc., and this would not be good for the woman.
      Anyway, hope this helps. Cheers!

Not because they're ugly or something but we as women are programmed to say that to a guy who automatically gives us the creeps bc of "no."
    We can't just say no because no is something some men can't simply accept. Ive heard plenty of news from women rejecting men and they get assaulted or killed because of it. So instead of flat out rejecting, we are programmed to use a fake boyfriend bc some men respect men more than the simple consent of a woman.

    Back in 2010/2011, I was in an online forum for high school guys looking to build confidence/pick up girls. The biggest point driven home by everyone was finding stuff you enjoy and learning to be passionate about them, learning how to feel confident, and then yeah. Talk to a crap ton of girls and ask for numbers. Never intended to REALLY work, it was to get over the fear of rejection and social awkwardness. It was always pointed out that you don’t just badger people. So many guys need to learn how to read a room, which can only come after you learn to break the ice. There were good groups out there helping young guys. Majority were shit though.

    The cashier asking the shoe girl's friend "Do you know him?" before stepping in to tell the guy politely to leave isn't just a kind gesture, in worst case scenarios it can be a life-saving one. The main reason women don't tell men like this to "just fuck off" (genuinely awful advice that I've heard too many times) is cause you never really know what somebody is capable of. I'm sure everyone's heard stories of innocent women being assaulted and even murdered simply for rejecting romantic/sexual advances.
    Unfortunate as it is men (on average) respect other men more than they do women, which is why "I have a boyfriend" is the go-to response for most of us trying to navigate our way out of these sort of situations; especially if they keep pushing after we've already said no. That cashier probably didn't think what he did was a big deal but to us, small things like that really mean a lot.

      Nice feminist propaganda. Firstly, you're much more likely to be murdered by somebody you know (a relative, acquaintance, coworker, etc) than by a stranger, unless you're in a war zone. Secondly, more men get killed by strangers than women, statistically speaking.
      Nobody likes a snob who thinks they've assessed a "bad" situation, and nobody likes somebody who butts in to others' conversations thinking they're helping somebody. It's honestly pathetic.
      Of course this guy wasn't getting any, but it's like making fun of a fat person at the gym. They're trying and maybe one day they'll be fit and healthy. Don't make fun of somebody for going out there and trying to do something with their lives, even if they fail at it.
