  • This soft-cover book by Fine Scale Modeler Books and edited by Jim DeRogatis was the last book modeler and author Shep Paine was working on before his death in 2015. It offers a wealth of knowledge on the hobby from arguably one of it's founding fathers.

    Shep Paine had big influence in my life for models. I do wish I would have met him. RIP.

      I agree whole heartedly Clay.He was the Man,better than Verlinden although i did think he tried to emulate him in some ways

    The faces I paint today will never be the same after buying Shepard Paines books 30 years ago. I use those basics in every figure and every vehicle I build.

    Still unbuilt a lot of the unbuilt Monogram kits with those flyers. He and Verlinden really got a lot of people not just into modeling, but building more and of course, altering them.
