I think this would be better suited as a RV vacuum and that is what I plan to purchase one for.

I have all hardwood floors at home. I use as my primary home vacuum the very similar Dewalt mini shop vac (identical form factor and attachments).
Works wonders. These mini shop vacs are way more powerful than the standard domestic stick vac and with removable tool batteries like the Ryobi 18V or Dewalt 20V… you’ll run out of house to vacuum way before you run out of batteries.
For home use on hard floors where you don’t need a brush roller, these things are perfect

If they put a foam filter over the pleated filter it would be better. Fine dust plugs the pleated filters quickly.

Thinking this would be good for RVs or travel trailers.

Dry pickup only, correct? The Ryobi HP stick vac works well for dry pickup and comes with beater bar (double beater if you get the pet stick version). Works for me. Visible canister and etc. seems much more usable.

I definitely want to get this vac. I'm tired of sweeping up dog hair on my patio.

The filter is it's drawback. it's a little too short/small for the design. Clogs fast. This tool is more of a shop broom with a little extra. Also works as a dust buster, or after you've thrown chips all over the place from the trim router. There is also a rubber flap on the inside that can get stuck open. Would have been nice if it had a belt hook so you could connect it to sanders and walk around. It eats battery. Minimum is a 3 but 4s or higher are for actual cleaning. I still don't know why they don't put BL motors in the larger vacs. (Where you need the power and runtime...weird)

It's looks pretty good for a hand vac. It's not a woodworking workshop dust collector so not sure what people are expecting.

This hand vac would be ok for sporadic quick clean ups,but as for larger areas I would go with a shop vac.

Picked one up on clearance for $30. I dont think I'd have wanted to spend more than that on it though!

If you use the flex hose on the dust collector of your saw it would work

It would be amazing if the changed it from sucking stuff in through a 90° angle at the top where the hose goes into the canister, and instead opened up as a wide mouth i to the canister. It doesnt pick up zip ties or netal scraps BUT is a GREAT vacuum is you need it to pick up finer or not long things kinda like a car. Its great for that but that 90 makes it useless on a regular jobsite. I prefer the smaller handheld one as it foes better with zipties and stuff thats long like wire as well or wood pieces.

I also do love how easy and solid the filter system is. Super easy to empty and clean and replace if needed. The filter does need to be bigger as it works kinda too well in a sense. It doesn't even need a bigger opening per day just needs the throat widened up or less aggressive of an angle

It is a bit of an odd duck. I picked one up during Ryobi days as I wanted a solid indoor/home use dustbuster.
In that role its been excellent and would recommend for picking up crumbs, pet hair, e.t.c... That being said I think that's how it should be marketed & is too small for even light shop/residential remodel work.
One issue I've had is the rubber flap where the suction tube discharges into the hopper...it's very small and even small dead leaves get hung up there and are awkward to dislodge.
Again, for my purposes, as a strong home use dustbuster, it's outstanding & sucks great, but I can't see it being very useful anywhere else.

Really this is the bigger filter when you compare it to the 704 or 705 filter.

Personally, I wish it used bags instead of being bag-less. Otherwise, it’s good for the intended use of small jobs or quick vac on hard floors in the house.

Ryobi vacuums have always missed their mark. Maybe they need to look into cyclone designs.

Not really impressed. It looks like the filter will be clogged in no time and probably hard to find a replacement for after more than a year or so. Aside from that it looks like it should have a 2nd handle on the top instead of just on the rear.
