  • The Marvels starring Brie Larson opened to horrible reviews from both critics and audiences, and now to make things worse the Marvels opening weekend box office has been released and it is terrible. The Marvels only made $47 Million at the box making it officially the biggest flop in MCU history. This is now the latest in a number of movies to flop for Marvel and Disney in the last year, leaving us no choice but to wonder if the MCU is officially over, because at the moment it doesn't seem like Disney Marvel will be able to turn things around for the MCU anytime soon.

This is why my favourite female MCU character is Nebula - she was humbled, shamed, tortured, brought down to knees every corner. She's so human in her anger, jelaousy and desperate attempts to gain parental love and approval. And her change is very reminesent of someone ending the circle of abuse to become better person

We really miss Stan Lee. The early Marvel movies were so relatable and grounded because Stan guided the writers and directors how to tell a great story. When Stan died, Marvel became a lifeless, money-making venture that lost its soul.

I could watch Florence Pugh as Yelena all day, every day. I don't understand how Disney could be this incompetent. They didn't shoot themselves in the foot; they systematically removed all of their limbs and then blew themselves up.
They have had so many chances to right the ship. They have squandered some of the greatest franchises to ever exist. The executives in charge shouldn't be able to get a job flipping burgers when you consider how monumental the financial losses they've incurred are, yet these people haven't even been fired or moved to different projects. Could you imagine being a manager in almost any field, losing your company even just a few million dollars (much lower than what has been lost here), and not getting fired? For Jen to bring up her petty issues to the Incredible Hulk, who's been a social outcast hunted by the US Army for decades and had more bullets and missiles fired at him than Godzilla, is one of the most unbearable and pompous moments in TV history. This is why my favorite female MCU character is Nebula - she was humbled, shamed, tortured, and brought down to her knees every corner. She's so human in her anger, jealousy, and desperate attempts to gain parental love and approval. And her change is very reminiscent of someone ending the circle of abuse to become a better person This is so great. Disney deserves every second of this. Disney has killed the interest in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Marvel. Those are the biggest IPs of all time and they can’t make money anymore. That’s impressive. That she-hulk scene always irks me so much. Girl you’re talking to a guy who has suffered so much. It’s like complaining to a man in a wheelchair that you stubbed your toe and that therefore he couldn’t understand your pain. The way Iron Man's story arc ended with him as the selfless hero giving up his life with his snap had me bawling in the cinema. If they bring him back, it will be disgraceful They followed the 'girl boss' trope for the last few years. Forgetting all about development because the girl bosses are perfect. This is a touching obituary written for the MCU. RIP MCU (2008 - 2019) Don’t get too excited fellas even after this Disney will learn nothing Since Endgame, Marvel has been following the formula of "bait the audience with a popular male character, replace him with a female character who is so much better than him". Loki S1 did that, Hawkeye, Thor L&T, She-Hulk, etc. Personally, I stopped caring about the MCU after they massacred Thor in L&T. But I think Marvel is targeting the know-it-all, privileged brats known as GenZ with these insufferable characters. Tik-Tok generation cannot handle long character arcs.
We appreciate your insights on this. The MCU deserves far better in comparison to The Marvels. They know they're lacking in some departments so they're trying to overcompensate without thinking of the damages that might occur right after. The Marvel starring Brie Larson opened to horrible reviews from both critics and audiences, and now to make things worse the Marvel opening weekend box office has been released and it is terrible. The Marvels only made $47 Million at the box making it officially the biggest flop in MCU history. This is now the latest in several movies to flop for Marvel and Disney in the last year, leaving us no choice but to wonder if the MCU is officially over because at the moment it doesn't seem like Disney Marvel will be able to turn things around for the MCU anytime soon.

Buying your own product the boost sales numbers and create the impression something is more popular is an old scam going all the way back to the 50s.

This isn't about Disney forgetting anything. They remember the hero's journey, but they are deliberately ignoring it. This is all about Disney buying into a certain way of seeing the world. Because of that buy-in, every single one of these female characters *has* to be a Mary Sue. From Disney's perspective, you *cannot* portray a female in a way that suggests she needs others, and you *certainly* cannot portray her in a way that suggests she needs anything whatsoever from a man. As long as you keep looking at Disney's movies from an entertainment perspective you will be perplexed by their choices, because Disney's goal is no longer to entertain, but to reeducate. And you *will* be reeducated.

This flop has nothing to do with wether the movie was good or bad. People have just had enough of Disney pushing its ridiculous agenda and pandering to any woke notion that's put forward. Imagine trying to appease the few while alienating the many and expecting your business to still thrive.

I only hope that the new DCU brings hope with these legendary characters. Even Snyder failed to bring life to Justice League when he forget what makes Superman and Batman special, you can't just bring two imense characters to fight without a background, and we just seeing the same thing in MCU, but in a large scale.

If the MCU is taking their time to make the next Tom Holland movie, then I'm good with that. Shows such as Arcane took 6 (more or less) years to make, and they were phenomenal.
You are totally correct on the Hero's journey being left out of the movies. Superman is a character who has all the power, but still faces large climaxes and problems such as Zod and Lex Luther and even family trouble. Writing a character to be relatable is so important!

Emma Tammy's Five Nights of Freddy's is a massive success in the box office and audiences loves it. Both Disney and Marvel can't use sexism and misogynism for this flop, because Five Nights at Freddy's proved that being directed by a female director that's also not well known can also have massive success.

I felt a pain in my chest at the end when you spoke about the return of RDJ, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johans because in that moment I had flashbacks of how their characters impacted us as true marvel fans.
