Police typically use German Shepards because they were believed previously to be aggressive (although not neutering any breed will help with that). I worked in an ER as an RN. EMS brought a middle age lady in after their Rottweiler attacked her and her daughter. She snached up a 22 rifle and opened fire. It took 17 hits to put it down. She had NO IDEA why it attacked, so its not just PB.
It's a very hot topic. You always see the PitBulls on the news all the time and its mostly bad news. I too myself is not a fan of this breed of dogs coz it almost attacked my mother and it killed and murdered my shih tzu. This is why these dogs are banned in some countries.
I believe her when she says he was sweet. I used to go to the fence every day when I was a teen on my way to the bus stop. Every morning. Then one morning I went to the fence like I always did and the pit Bull was there wagging his tail like he always did expecting his daily pets from me. When I went to reach over to pet him he growled so I backed off and went to walk away then he jumped over fence. Thank God my parents forgot to lock the car because I got inside. That dog ferociously attacked the window and didn’t stop. He tried to bite the window so hard that he was bleeding. I ended up honking the horn till someone came out then he went back over the fence. The owners told us a few days later that it snapped at the kids and they put him down because his demeanour changed just like that. He never had a history and lived in a good family home from a puppy. He was about five years old. It’s sad but I will never trust this breed of dog ever. If I see one I cross the street.
People get the breed because they’re aggressive and 9/10 get them for intimidation or “protection”. The issue is they aren’t a “protective” dog they were bred to be aggressive, violent, and offensive dogs. He was known to be aggressive. That is not a sweet dog. It should never have been allowed to get to that stage. At the first sign of aggression, the dog goes, you don't keep a ticking time bomb around, pit bull or no. Most pit bulls are sweet and would never hurt anyone, but it's this kind of irresponsible owner who denies that their dog is vicious and ignores every warning while at the same time being careless about its keeping that is responsible for the pit bulls bad rep.

This is sad when even the neighbors are afraid of the dog. I had a simular problem with our neighbors Pitbull jumping over our fence. We were even afraid to take out the trash.
Easy solution - when the dog jumps over your fence, kill it, THEN take out the trash. Sort of a variations of S/S/S - Shoot/Shovel/Shut Up.

I worked in an ER as an RN. EMS brought a middle age lady in after their Rottweiler attacked her and her daughter. She snached up a 22 rifle and opened fire. It took 17 hits to put it down. She had NO IDEA why it attacked, so its not just PB.

I believe her when she says he was sweet. I used to go to the fence every day when I was a teen on my way to the bus stop. Every morning. Then one morning I went to the fence like I always did and the pit Bull was there wagging his tail like he always did expecting his daily pets from me. When I went to reach over to pet him he growled so I backed off and went to walk away then he jumped over fence. Thank God my parents forgot to lock the car because I got inside. That dog ferociously attacked the window and didn’t stop. He tried to bite the window so hard that he was bleeding. I ended up honking the horn till someone came out then he went back over the fence. The owners told us a few days later that it snapped at the kids and they put him down because his demeanour changed just like that. He never had a history and lived in a good family home from a puppy. He was about five years old. It’s sad but I will never trust this breed of dog ever. If I see one I cross the street.
People get the breed because they’re aggressive and 9/10 get them for intimidation or “protection”. The issue is they aren’t a “protective” dog they were bred to be aggressive, violent, and offensive dogs. They’re acting exactly they way they were bred to be but some people are just too dumb or think they will be the special one that can change natural behavior. It’s almost like someone getting a pet tiger and then being surprised it kills its owner because “one day it snapped”

They probably rescued the dog and the dog was already crazy. The main problem is that crazy dogs used to be euthanized but now that vegans and animal activist have taken over the control of dog shelters, a lot of dangerous pit bulls are placed with families instead of being humanely put to sleep like it should be.

Pit bulls are bred to be aggressive. Friendly puppies are culled (killed) while the aggressive ones are raised and bred. Breeders are the problem, as well as owners who don't know what they're getting.
