My dog will do that a lot just a limp bite also iver image some one touching you where you don’t want to be wtf you gonna do if the only way out is defense or warning
Don't you know people who have dogs? What if you're petting it and you think it's just playing with you when it's actually giving you warnings to leave it alone? That's like saying "I don't have any money. Why am I learning about money scams?"
This video is brilliant, purely brilliant. He got us in here with a very flashy title, and then he taught us all about dog psychology and reminded us that dogs are never wrong.
My beautiful and amazing mistress I just wanted to say my dog has no knowledge that if he bites someone that he will get put down? He doesn't speak English and dogs don't have a understanding of that stuff, do how can a dog know that it will be put down if it bites someone when it can't talk? Yes they can understand simple things like sit, stay and stuff but your associating an acting with a word so it's triggering that response, in theory you'd have to show a dog another dog biting someone then getting put down for it to understand and that's just not gunna happen is it really? I understand what you meant and what your saying, but the dog had no knowledge that it will get put down if it bites someone
Or its simply because no dog wants or likes biting their master, the one (or many) that has been with them for years, showing them love and taking care of them, but it will happen if you push it like this guy did for educational purposes. The dog really surpressed its annoyance well out of love for the owner, but too much is too much sometimes. It doesnt want to, but it has to.
Tweekify Dogs are a lot smarter than you think. They have a vocabulary of hundreds of words. They know what karma is. If you punch someone, you may regret it and feel guilty. Same with a dog.
Tiger Lord nope not a lot smarter than I think, I know how smart my dog was he could bark in certain ways to say he wanted stuff but I'm saying not all dogs understand or have understanding that if they bite someone they get put down that's my point I know dogs are intelligent, but not every dog knows
Tweekify Not every dog, but they still are a lot smarter than you think. If I come back from the store with yellow bags, they know I just got food for myself. If I come back with brown bags, they know I went to the pet store and got them stuff. They jump and whine. They can sense when you don't like someone. One time, I was walking my dogs and this dude was walking pretty close to me. When he got about a foot away from me, my dog jumped up and bit his hand, because he knows I was telling him to go away.
@Anonymous Commenter As a human person, people, regardless of their degree of relation to you, shouldn't be touching you without your permission* FTFY.
Anonymous Commenter go and ask your spouse what you have a right to do lol. Interesting how you give yourself a permission to do anything to another human’s body.
A lot of these comments are really ignorant. Bite inhibition is very important. When my dog had a broken leg, ( An 80 pound boxer ) I had to carry him to get him to the vet. The first time I picked him up he quickly snapped at my face cause he was in pain and he his response was acknowledging me that the way I was carrying him hurt him a lot. I picked up up again in a different position and no snap, the relationship between a dog understanding the power of their jaw through play with their master is vital when it comes to situations where it matters. This guy is messing with his dog to show you all an example of this, most of you are missing the important point he's trying to make.
Anthony Verduzco they don't understand I have a old English bulldogge that had a thorn in his paw did the same thing when i grabbed his paw the wrong way
Wtf are you talking about? Yes it is responsive to things like pain but doesn't mean that an irritated dog or dog in pain clamps it's jaws on you! My dog will never ever under any circumstances bite anyone! And she's loved throughout the community as a perfect dog! All it takes is discipline when showing overtly aggressive tendencies! It really wasn't difficult at all! Love/affection + discipline/dominance! And they are perfect! Not if they don't like something or you touch what hurts them they go for you like you are their bitch!
booty2k shut ur stupid ass u obviously don't know shit about dogs dogs have feelings and just like any human if u fuck with them waht the fuck u think is gonna happen to u? ur gonna get knocked the fuck out u dumb bitch
I’m a dog groomer (15 years now), I so respect what you’re trying to do and I hope you know you’ve posted something that opens you up to so much judgement. This is an old post, but I feel inclined to respond anyway. I know and understand what you are saying and hope that any one that tries this at home understands the risk they take if attempting it. Best of luck to you.
“He talks to much blah blah blah” Are you even listening to what he’s saying? Most of it is important, he’s informing the viewing of signs that a dog might bite and why a dog would bite and more. This video isn’t just about him showing himself getting bit, it’s about what to do and what to look for.
@@RavenTheLabrador Being a dog trainer doesn't necessarily mean shit. Not being a dog trainer also doesn't mean you can't have information about dogs. That's like saying "No. You can't just say that you have a flat tire and know how to fix it. Are you a certified mechanic? No. Then you don't know shit about cars. Don't even call that a tire because you're not certified so you obviously don't know what you're talking about." See? Sounds pretty fucking stupid doesn't it?
@@RavenTheLabrador Everything the guy said in the video made perfect sense. If you need to be a certified dog trainer to understand such simple concepts then every certified dog trainer is worth nothing.
yeah because teaching people to understand a dogs body language is such a vile thing to do. calm the fuck down and stop seeing the world so black and white all the time.
@@RavenTheLabrador if you're going to make am assertion like that you could at least point out which information isn't correct or is "bad training advice".
My daughter likes to lay on and partially smother our dog hugging him when he's laying down. The dog will softly growl when he's not liking it and I told her that his way of telling you he wants you to stop, you have to respect him. it's his only way of telling you to stop.
@Alex a dog should always have a say in the matter, they're entitled to a life of peace and comfort, same as you. its your responsibility as their owner to train them, give them a home, and integrate them into your family. that isnt to say that you should walk on eggshells around dogs, a properly trained dog should be tolerant of annoyances to a reasonable degree, and would give signals if they were not comfortable. odds are, if you have a dog that is agressive, doesnt like being touched (especially while eating) or never stops barking, they are most likely lacking training. and a dog trained once isnt a trained dog. dog training is a continuous process. sometimes you need to test their responses to make sure they havent forgotten their training.
@Alex No, they should not. Most dogs HATE baths, grooming, nail trims, shots, etc…but if they respect your authority, they should put up with any and all annoyances without showing an ounce aggression. A dog would only growl/bite at a housemate like this if it viewed the other dog/person as being of lower rank than itself. …the “trainer” in this video is simply the Rottweiler’s b*tch.
@@anolisa1939 Your way of "making dogs respect authority" creates fearful, unpredictable, and dangerous dogs. Dogs are sentient creatures. They have boundaries. There needs to be compromise in some areas, but the dog ALSO needs to be respected for the dog AND the people around them. They aren't programmable little robots, they are animals with feelings and instinct.
@@anolisa1939 Respect goes both ways no matter who's in charge. Crossing an animal's boundaries and teaching them not to *harmlessly* express their annoyance is a great way to have an animal go from zero to sixty. No matter how much they respect you, everyone has a limit, and it's better to have them communicate that before they reach it and before annoyance turns to actual aggression. I've worked with rescue animals and seen a lot of people with your mentality get hurt.
Omg I read the comments saying about him talking I thought wtf r they on about omg I c now boooring 🤮💩why aggravate this poor dog ide b pissed off if u wer doing that to me u go to far I mean he fell asleep due to being bored from u talking so much then u wake him up annoying him to hell idiot u can see he just wants to b left alone omg idiot 👎🏿
Diana Alexandru I always forget not everybody else has dogs or cats, but my mom's owned a grooming business all of my life and we've probably had 2 dozen different dogs since i was a kid so i guess I'm used to it lol
Avraam Sharai I didn't say it wasn't important he just repeats the same thing over and over, He told us that we need to show our dogs their jaw force and that it's important to teach them when their puppies and to look out for signs, But thanks for the reply😚😈
Nah they don't get me down at all. I purposely approve every single comment because it helps my video look more relevant and get more views haha. They can be idiots all they want they think they are hurting me but they are actually just helping. Shh don't tell them tho. :P
They can get bit because of lack of knowledge of danger signals. It wont hurt any of us watching this with our eyes and ears open. So i would call that a great success.
You dog is the most patient rottweiler i've ever seen .You should do a video teaching us the biting control technique. Edit : don't mind my last request I found a video of yours about bite inhibition, great job.
haha, there's not "secret technique" i have a rotweiller and i never gave her any training whatsoever! And she is the most docile thing ever, with me or people she never met, she won't harm anything, it's the way you create and take care of your dog that matters the most! Cheers
I used to constantly try to bother my dog to try to get her to bare teeth or snap. Pull on her ears..tail...feet. Doesn’t matter she doesn’t care. No change in behavior other than just being happy she’s being touched. I honestly think pits aren’t as bothered by pain or discomfort as other dogs. Not all of them but her for sure.
I torture the shit out of my dog and he has never shown his teeth to me. We play around and he'll put his mouth on my arm, but like you said he has good bite control. I might add that he's a 78lb pit bull. We got him as a rescue. If I try to annoy him, he just takes it as love. When we first got him I tried to trigger a bite response to see if my fiancé would be safe with him around other people. Pulled his tail while he was eating, put my hand in his food bowl, put my face in his food bowl... He just wags his tail, licks my face and keeps doing whatever he was doing.
My boxer is the same way. I've annoyed the crap out of her and she just ends up wanting to play. I wrestle with her real rough, throwing her around and stuff and she gets mouthy but she never shows her teeth or growls. Same with my kids. My son will grab her ears and tug them or stuff like that, and the worst she does is kinda mouth his hand. Then again, I taught her since she was a pup that she can't bite hard. She learned pretty quick that any more than just touching her mouth on people to get their attention or when playing is too much.
I have two pit bulls, when i give them bones they have no problem with me taking it away from them, but they do growl at each other when one tries to get close to the other while chewing on their bones.
My dog learnt on his own bite inhibition. As a puppy I played with him letting me bite, growing up he got so strong that as he once bit me I retracted suddenly my hand screaming. He stared at me in a way that I think he understood in that moment that he caused me harm. From that day on he never harmed me again, even thouh he bit me several times as a warning sign. RIP Cris.
Don't listen to anyone in comments, they have no idea what they are saying. Licking lips, when taken in context of the situation, is a warning sign that your dog can bite or become agressive.
You people are all a bunch of idiots [except BrightDogAcademy]. Yes, dogs lick their snouts periodically throughout the day, and that doesn't mean they're about to bite. But licking the snout is ALSO used as a sign that the dog is very uncomfortable and is trying to tell you to stop what you're doing. It doesn't mean that the dog is going to lick his snout and then immediately bite you, the way some of you have interpreted it. What it means is that the dog is uncomfortable, and if you keep bothering him, he's going to feel the need to escalate his communication until you finally listen to him, and that may just require him biting you. Just like in this example: the dog was licking his snout, he turned his head away, he used his paw to push the guy's hand away, he lifted his licks in a snarl... all of those are dog language for "Stop it, you're bothering me!" But the guy kept going and going, and the dog finally had to take his hand in his mouth in a fake bite. In dog language, he went from "You're being annoying" to "Stop it, you dick" to "OMFG leave me alone!" to "FUCK OFF ALREADY OR I'LL BITE YOU REALLY REALLY HARD, YOU ASSHOLE!"
From what I've learnt, when the dog is licking his hand after the "bite" is dog language for showing submissiveness and saying let's be friends. All dogs do that. Also important yes the dogs is very sweet because he is well taken care of, well exercised, well trained and well socialized! The owner maketh the dog so to speak!
My cat does exactly every step that this dog did when he’s annoyed - he paws, licks his lips, swishes his tail, and finally a gentle bite exactly like this. So apparently my cat is a Rottweiler. 🤣
Anyone who reads this, please don’t treat your cat like you would your dog! It’s begging for a trip to the hospital, cats are completely different than dogs and need their own study. No offense OP, just knowledgeable advice...
I don't know why there's so many dislikes, this video is clearly educational and you're not mistreating your dog in anyway. But I subscribed! I like your face, your hair and your video!
Thanks. Dog training is funny. People watch a few episodes of dog whisperer and think that qualifies them as professionals. I've only been to school plus spent the past 10 years learning and actively training dogs...but what do I know.
You dont know shit and dont even mention Ceaser Millan, show me a episode where Ceaser says its ok for your dog to snap and bite you know we are talking strong breeds I can touch my dog anywhere no matter what but you cant so stfu with your BS
people like you get little kids killed and mothers mauled and killed because you dont understand that when it comes to strong breeds like pits you the master have to have 100% control over your dog no matter what and that means your dog never ever snapping or biting you
Chon stknca mate he's been training dogs for the last ten years and he doesn't look like Chucky the doll. I'm sure he knows much more than you with your blatantly bullshit views on "strong" Social behaviour is nurture rather than nature in almost every mammal
Max is a lovely dog. It was difficult to watch that as you annoyed him. I love how he licked you afterwards. He was clearly uncomfortable with having to have gone that far with you. I didn’t see much dog talk from him with his ears. Or his tail, has he been docked. Tails are such an important communication tool for dogs
@@varshaakumar07 unlikely but not impossible , for instance if you wake your dog from a deep sleep they may automatically nip at you, as they are scared! But after 5 years without real fault it should be fine! But if they are introduced to new things it’s possible like new children or babies around dogs can sometimes lead to different behavioural acts if the child is pestering the dog
It's like watching a car wreck. I got sh!t to do besides try to see someone's guts hanging out. I've seen mangled bodies & wish I could share those images with everyone making me sit in traffic an extra 3 hours.
The tail isn't the only thing dogs use when communicating. Their tails are fine. They can still communicate with others as they were able to like before. Like ear cropping, the dog didn't go deaf.
Awe after he kindly warned him and bit him he licked his hand as to say "I'm not mad at you ,I just didnt like that dad".. I fell in love with your dog in that instance 🥰🥰
Good to teach people but you dragged it out way too long and kept repeating yourself. Perhaps shorten it a bit would be better as you lost my interest. I skipped most of the beforehand talk.
PeaceDreamerLLP you know what I was bout to type same thing! After 8:10 closed the vid as I was tired of him repeating himself and dragging it out. I was actually half way thru typing a message to say how much the first 8 minutes bored me, but deleted it. I went back into the vid as I thought I'd check other posters comments and wham......seems I wasn't alone! Incidentally I didn't watch rest of the vid as he irritates me way too much
Amazing video 👍🏼. That’s exactly how a dog should act and respond to an owner when they’re being annoying 😂 Showed multiple signs and even his eyes after biting you really shows how sorry he feels. Very well trained and beautiful dog you have 🐕🙌🏼
I didn’t expect to like this video because I was feeling it’s not fair to the dog to provoke him so much he had to bite, but I’m so impressed with your gorgeous dog, so much patience and self control. That’s how a well cared for and loved dog is. Thanks for sharing 😊
He's such a good boy! So well trained that he knows that even when he's the most pissed off, the most he will do is put his teeth on you and snarl a bit. I love how he licks you afterwards even to make sure you are okay.
Almost nothing irritates my dog. He just likes any type of attention, thats why hes very good with kids. And when he gets irritated, he has a very soft mouth and just cries, lol. His dog didnt seem very tolerant to me.
+Elise Laframboise not all dogs have the exact same warnings.. for instance most to all fogs have the lick lips warning and or try to move and stop the annoyance with their paws or walking away.. but Some do other things.. like whinning, but if whatever you keep doing to them causing them to whine goes long enough they'll turn aggressive and bark and or bite.. dare you to try it.. everyone and thing has limits even boxers, the goofs of dogs..
Yes I miss my Rottweiler, she’d catch an attitude like this one when I touched her feet and under that jawline cheek area over and over, man it’s crazy like you said it’s like their programmed 🤣
I got my pitbull at 6 weeks old, before he could really learn bite inhibition with his littermates. The first month or two after we got him were full of bitten forearms and fingers because of teething. Luckily, we have two older pits who aren’t afraid to show him what’s allowed and what’s not. Now he’s 6 months old and doesn’t bite. He does nom on our arms if he’s hungry and he wants to let us know, but he doesn’t apply any pressure. He’s a wonderful puppy and he already knows basic commands like sit and shake/high-five. Such a sweet boy.
Update almost 3 months later: out of all of my dogs, one of which we’ve had for a year and the second for 9 years, he’s the most well behaved. Although, the 50 lbs pup thinks it’s okay to be a lap dog. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also, can appreciate the CLEARLY visible pup/owner connection here as well. It's as if one could tell that the dog would take on any amount of harm, FIRST...before ever seeing it come to the its owner.
Great idea for a video, with very poor delivery People absolutely should be able to read an animal's body language and cues, but this wasted 13 mins too long, having not appropriately shown the warning signs. There are far more warning signs he never even touched on.
Word of wisdom.....no dog should ever snap at its owner regardless of the pain it's in. None of my dogs have ever snapped at me. They have whimpered really loud and pulled away to tell me they are in pain in that area...... my dobermans, German shepherds and yorkies.
Everyone has an opinion on dogs that bite, especially people who don't own dogs that bite. All dogs can bite, and all dogs have a bite threshold. Many may never reach that threshold, and that's great, but others have a lower threshold, which is why training inhibition is so important. It is just not realistic to say that no dog should ever snap at its owner, and a dog that does snap is not instantly a bad dog.
Very interesting, I was never able to irritate my rottie to even raise her lips at me, she would very softly grab on my hands or arms if I grabbed her front feet to much. But never raised lips. Was chilled as hell. Absolutely amazing dogs, they will be active with you and lazy with you. Would like to get another but need to wait till I have moved, my one sadly was put to sleep due to incurable lupus
I had a very sweet collie several years ago. She did this too when I annoyed her on purpose to see what she liked and disliked. She surrounded my hands with her teeth and let go, without applying any force whatsoever. I miss her :(
Nathan T. Yeah agreed, from growing up with lots of animals and quite an interesting variety also, I have found with dogs it's very dependent on the owners personality and the families personality and environment that determines the nature of the dog, not some stupid guide on training, all the dogs we have ever had got basic training and I mean very basic ( teaching them to take nicely from your hand and sit) never had a single issue except for my moms Boston terrier, but he only began to snap at us after he turned 14 and we used to irritate him as kids so was our own fault ( he had no teeth any more also )
Gareth weare same with my dog. I have a poodle. he didn't start to bite until he turned 10 or so. before that I mess with him all I want and he would never become agressive. I guess old age does that. but he has no teeth now either, and he's 13 going on 14.
This is a very good point he's bringing up here and makes logical sense too. I never knew that what I've been doing with my Dogs over the last 40 years is called "Biting inhibition". I play fight with my pooches all the time and of course they use their teeth to 'play'. Never once though, has the skin been broken...if it gets a bit too harsh a sharp "argh!" causes my dog to push my hand out of his mouth with his tongue. In a nutshell - I can vouch that this technique works :)
Ted Van Matje I'd just say ow or help and mine would go in protective mode, my ex didn't like that when we first got together. She was up his butt by the time she died 9 years later. She was a good dog though.
*☆Lovely*♡*Vee☆* my answer is this Allow your dogs to bite playfully, SOMETIMES. The basis is this. Understand that dogs live in a very different mindset than humans. We so much want them to follow our rules, but their minds are completely different. Just as a blind person MUST use other senses such as a cane to live. Dogs use their mouths a lot and nonverbal cues. A lot of their communication comes from stances and "feel". They understand your tone of voice, not necessarily the words. But the tone within the words and your posture when saying them. They touch, small, feel, play, and complete a lot of duties with their mouths. So if you try to take that way when playing with you, they will sort of be confused. To their own detriment. They will constantly be trying to fight their natural ways. And t hst just isn't good. Now...what we want is the dog to live a full happy life. Co,municate with us so we understand and so they understand us. It's not so much the biting you want to control. It's the attitude in the bite. Like controlling a child using certain languages. Let them "speak". With the nonverbal laughs and playfulness. Grabbing you...with their mouths. Just play have fun. And when it gets a bit rough, immediately stop. Change your whole tone of body. You're no longer playing because of the pain. You're no longer having fun. Make your dog "feel" that attitude. Doesn't have to be anger. Cause that will make them a tad bit anxious. And dogs read anxiety in the natural way. "Fight or flight". Don't want to make them nervous or upset. Just was them to understand. Say your nos. And stops. Same as you would teach a 2 or 3yr old to not sauna certain word. A d just like you would a 2 or 3yr old, go right back to playing, as if nothing happened. And you keep doing that until they understand that they CAN play with their mouths, like they naturally do. As long as they don't hurt you or anyone. And they will also learn in what situations it's ok or not ok to bite, jump on, paw, pull at etc. Don't stop their natural instinct. Simply communicate on their level. And you will have no problem. When it comes to other people...their kids, etc etc. Socializing is key. We as owners really feel anxiety when out dog plays with us in a certain way, but another person is nervous. We tend to overreact when we know our dogs aren't doing anything wrong, but the person is nervous so we want to show we have more control. Scared that they may co plain and we lose our dog. Or however that situation may go. Don't do that. Esoeciallymwith bigger breeds. This is number one reason some animals switch on owners. Dogs live with us based on trust. They should feel comfortable with you if not with anyone else. When others feel anxious...their natural "Fight or flight" instinct comes in. Their already on edge. It depends on their level of social skills how much on edge. Dogs like pits and Doberman have gotten a bad rep. Meaning most people feel nervous. Meaning most owners rarely socialize. Then they think they have dog trained well. Which they do but only on a level of a teenager. They'll listen, but once they're "in the world. The real world" all the difference and new contacts and attitudes will have them sidetracked a bit. All these new feelings from so many new people they aren't used to being around. And less socializing will have them tend to jump, bark, pull, want to play but not understand how they are the feeling giving put and receiving from others. Even if they don't do the pull and jump because they are listening to you, they are still fighting that urge. That's what we don't want. We don't want them fighting the urge. We want them comfortable with listening to you and understanding it's ok. The only way for them to understand, is if, as pups, they were socialized and was able to jump, pull, play, learn when not to as well. If you don't also socialize them, you will eventually get a pup who's older now, feeling the anxieties around them. Then you, in their mind, since you don't act this way at home, "out of nowhere" are yelling at them more. Louder, more determined. Pulling harder. Possibly overcorrectung them on something they never learned before or feel they've done wrong based on your own teachings. So you're throwing something new in the mix of all these new feelings. From all these strangers. Confusing them. Throwing your own anxieties in the mix. Now they're more alert. Cause somethings wrong with you now. And they bark more at passerby. Squirrels, rabbits, dogs, people. Doesn't matter anymore. Get thenfeelijg away is all they're thinking. But on top of that you're disciplining them to not do that...again confusing them....thats the point where they may think that YOU'RE also part of the problem. Something happened to you and they don't like it and it's hurting them. Confusing them more. "Fight or flight". Big dogs rarely use flight. And that's the point where so,e dogs may turn on their owners. Chihuahuas do it often. But people laugh because they're small. But a bigger dog does the same, except with more power. Cause they're bigger. All of thismtrainijg goes together. Training when it's ok to play and when it's not in league with training how different people in their surrounding area will react to them. Nowmthey know when's a good time to react or not. That it's ok as long as you're ok, and you'll be ok because you know you trained your pup well and they socialized well. So they will then ignore most of the anxieties of the world as long as you can control yours. And they'll understand your tone and meaning behind it and WHY you used it. I teach my dogs there's a certain type of play when they can use their mouths and certain types when they can't. When I'm roughhousing with them. They can use their mouths. They learn by my cues how hard they can chomp down or not. But when we're running in the yard and playing chase, they can only use their mouths on the toys. Not the person. If I teach that, then one day my son may play and be tackled down by my dogs. Or his friends may. And once their fear kick in, my dogs instinct will kick in and a high chance for a bad problem.
Ted Van Matje my dogs play bite with me too. Never broken my skin or even bruised me. The only time my skin has been broken by them is really by their nails when they jump out of excitement
How refreshing to find someone who CLEARLY understands what dogs are about and where we go wrong with them. I truly enjoyed your clip. Thank you on behalf of my 'puppies' too. I am not sure I understand those people who seem 'disappointed' that no 'blood shed' occurred, that no limbs were torn apart, and that no gory bite was shown, and therefore marked this video down because presumably it doesn't match 'what it says on the label'. Mmmm, animals, predators, which dogs are, are not 'actors' or 'role player' unless 'play mode' is on, and that requires the 'play mode protocol ' in action. When this dog trainer is highlighting the 'precursors' , the very loud and clear signs which most dog owners take for granted, or ignore, or dismiss, or attach little weight to them, is also talking about the 'situational awareness' mode the dog is on. At that stage, especially when dealing with powerful predators, and Rottweilers and/or powerful dogs are (300+ pounds bite force psi is RATHER impressive if one counts that the Kangal is deemed to have 734/800 depending where one reads from, but it's still IMMENSE at the lower end of the scale, and that the HYENA 'travels' at 1100 pounds psi biteforce) the question about: "why didn't he show the dog's biting him" sounds rather ODD, because the switch that 'changes' Dr Jekyll into Mr Hyde is NOT ON AN 'on'/'off' BUTTON, i.e. the threshold from 'warning snarling etc' to 'bite to attack' cannot be measured by human notion of time, therefore it would be INSANE, POINTLESS, and CRUEL to the dog to 'FORCE' that threshold FOR YOUR OWN ENTERTAINMENT and lack of vision. What this guy is saying (amongst other things) is "LEARN THE WARNING LIGHTS", (a man forewarned is one forearmed) , and work on your 'defusing and appeasing strategies' to take the situation a great deal of notches down. Don't waste your time expecting the gore and bloody, you are on the wrong channel for that sort of stuff. :-), TRAIN YOUR DOG to respond to your control of their jaws and pressure. They don't know HOW STRONG THEY ARE, they just automatically (instincts and drives) respond to whatever stimulus that alert ANY OF THEIR AUTOMATIC PILOT BUTTONS, and the trained ones too. In my opinion those who don't see the huge danger in 'activating' the 'true bite' switch, also don't understand that when the response is sent via the brain, it's ALREADY too late for the human. HENCE prevention is better than cure, and knowledge/true information is power, and life saving when it comes to understanding the body language of a powerful predator BEFORE the predator's attack protocol is engaged, so as to avoid the INEVITABLE once the non-existent (almost) threshold is crossed, and the 'animal' side is deployed. For God's sake we aren't even able to 'rehabilitate' (threshold 'correction' and impulse response readjustment) our great troops after they come back home, because they HAD to cross the 'threshold', AND WE EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO DO IT WITH A TRUE INSTINCTS AND DRIVE driven powerful predator? Are we deluded or simply ignorant about what nature is about? In this world there are POSSIBLE THINGS, impossible things, and MIRACLES, after that it's all science fiction and charlatans. PS: my experience with dogs relates to GSDs and large Mastiff-types of dogs. So far I can say that a Rottweiler does NOT LIKE TO BE 'worked up' indefinitely..i.e. s/he quickly (compared to other breeds) turns SERIOUS about the whole thing. To those who believe that 'a dog is a dog', then you must also believe that 'a car is a car'. Would you also say that maintenance-performance-troubleshooting-running costs-abilities required-to-make-the vehicle-perform-at-its-best(etc etc) WISE are the same if we were comparing a Fiat 500 to a Bugatti Veyron?
This can be applied to cats too. My cat will give plenty of warning, such as ears being laid back, tail being whipped side to side, and moving out of the way, but if you continue to try and touch him in places he doesn't like (such as his belly or paws) he will gently "bite" your hand, and immediately let go. His bite inhibition is excellent and he's never even nicked my skin, despite how sharp his teeth are and how annoying I was to him when I was younger.
My stepdad has a feral cat he adopted as a kitten and she gives zero warning signs. You'll be petting her and she'll scratch you out of nowhere - no ear movement, no tail movement, no eye dilation or contraction, anything. She's just crazy.
I have a great -real example- of why bite inhibition is so important. A few years back, my german shepherd (Lizzie) got hit by a car at night. After the vet came and check on her, awake her from the shock and give her some sedatives, he asked us to take her to do some x-rays to see if they broke her spine and how were the chances of recovering. The next morning the sedatives were fading out but we had to move her to the car so we could go the vet clinic. I must have done a wrong movement or something but suddenly she snapped at me and inmediately released. I was 15 (and im a very thin girl) and she was a full grown GSD. Imagine the damage she could have caused! Instead she didnt break skin and only gave me a light bruise. She must have been in intense pain, and still manage to control her own bite force to say "HEY, Stop. Im hurting!". If she havent know how to do that, I could have gone to the hospital and get several stitches. Thats how I know, first hand, bite inhibition is crucial to all dogs.
That's bullshit. I have never taught my dog about bite strength, however when we're winding each other up, messing about, he grabs me, very softly. Dogs aren't idiots. If they like you, they won't bite you.
MissWooHoo11 - BSL for American Pit Bull Terriers! I have a great day and I will be in the same as the instructor and I will be in the same as the instructor and I will be in the same as the instructor and
I have a stafford shire bullterrier, I can do literally whatever to it, she wont snap or bite me, She gives the signs by licking lips, takes paw and push hand away, sometimes lift lips. but never does she dare snap/bite me.
cellogirl11RW Generally a well socialized dog shouldn't feel the need to be aggressive towards humans, also not to mention the danger if the dog are around children and the dog snaps. Aggressive behavior shouldn't just be accepted like that..
cellogirl11RW There's a lot of things which is natural for dogs, like protecting their food, living outdoors, killing animals etc. but isn't an accepted behavior. Dogs are living in our homes not in the wild, therefore we need to adjust their and our lifestyles for a perfect match.
Warning sign.... when you see the bottom of their lip curl and a single tooth stick out. At 9:08 his lower lip starts curling.... my min pin/daschund mix used to do this when he was annoyed
The dog's mother teaches bite inhibition in the first eight weeks of life. I have had dogs in my home for 65 years, have never allowed a dogs teeth on me and have NEVER been bitten- even by injured dogs.
I do a quiet, high pitched yelp sounding like a hurt puppy. My pups always stop. If not, I quit playing with them for a moment. Also, I use a sharp NO as I walk away. It has always worked. My one rule with all animals is, "I won't hurt you but you can never hurt me".
Dogs understand the tone of our voices and, more importantly, our body language. The withdrawal of our attention is a behavior that dogs do to each other when they don't like the behavior.
Nice to see a well demonstrated AND explained vid. I've heard people yell at, hit the dog etc because their dog growled at them. Thank the dog for being gracious and telling you he's had enough and wants or needs a break.
One thing I’m noticing right away is you have a very well trained patient dog. We are looking into getting a bigger dog so I’m learning about training. I wouldve never known about bite inhibition. We have a Shih Tzu and she’s a growler. She’ll deff let you know verbally when to stop.
Katie Smith I have a shih tzu as well. He's a pitbull in shih tzu body. He has to be sedated for grooming, I mean literally put to sleep which is costly. Need muzzle during vet visit. I'm thinking about surrendering him if his behavior doesn't change. Open to suggestions
nnxjjsjx bdjjddnnx i use to clip dogs and dogs like that i never wash i have. Shitzu maltese and hes a growler but a coward and a great actor so many dogs put it on to not get clipped
Play with them daily Katie. And always show them you are the leader. Put pressure on their necks at the back of their head, or their pelvis, just before the tail. Put your nose close to their nose, and sniff out, etc. Show them you're the alpha, but always remind them you will also take care of them. Also for biting, show the dog by pressing on their teeth while playing, and their palate lightly, while telling the dog playfully but firmly that biting hard is wrong. Play with them by letting the dog express frustration and their inner animal, by letting them rip off old cardboard boxes during play. Then stop and pet them. This should let them connect with their natural instincts but also teach them how to play.
In my opinion that dog wasn't patient at all, it didn't take much for him to get fed up. I was actually surprised how little it took to get him to lick his lips.
A child cannot read these signs though which is why you should never leave a child alone or unsupervised around any dog,the kid will terorise the dog and get killed
+KingReyOne There's always one fucking wanker,I knew one would come along, explain to me then dickhead why it's a good idea to leave a potentially lethal animal unsupervised with a child?
+AkwardTurtle2013 Not every child of any age is the same and some parents do leave toddlers unsupervised with dogs and then you see it in the papers the dog bit the kid to death.
+VIKINGODIN I 100% agree with you so thats why your dog has to be 100% loyal to his pack and pack master YOU so dont listen to this idiot OP because he went to school lol and trained for a few years but its obvious he is not in 100% control of his pack if he can get them to bite him after touching paws
Very good information. That sneezing-exhale the dog did several times is like a warning, but I think he’s letting you know he’s not threatening you. My dog does the sneezes when he’s happy to see me as he’s jumping on me with excitement and I think he’s letting me know that he’s not a threat, but a friend. Your dog was doing that too.
Wow. I've had dogs most of my life. And I've never noticed or been told about the lip licking. This is news to me. Thanks very much for posting this video. Cheers.
@@3ftninja132 Both my male & female allow me to do anything inside their mouths. I was with my female when I made my comment. Neither one has any food aggression or an aggressive bone in their bodies.
@@3ftninja132 The only problem i have with both of them, they hate to get their nails cut. They don't bite or snap but they're so big and strong they use brutal force to pull away. Takes 3 strong adults to get them done. My female weighs 110 lbs and my male puppy weighs 150 lbs. Neither one is overweight, just massively huge.
My GSD is almost 12yrs old and has recently started "baring his teeth & gentle biting" usually when I groom him. I noticed (just like in your video) it's usually when I touch his lower legs/paws.. He has always been a gentle dog (no aggression towards anyone, very tolerant of young pups jumping all over him & generally well socialised. I was starting to worry that something was going wrong with our relationship. I now understand (from your video) why he's doing this and how to put it right. Thank you for taking the time to make the video.
If you have 90 pound muscular dogs they should always know who is in charge. And, it starts the moment they step in my home. I picked up for $25 a pitbull pup a week ago some druggie was selling in a parking lot. She's beautiful. Big . Red. Looks 85-90% pit. 45 pounds at 5-6 months. A beauty. First thing when she lunged for the food ....I said No. And so on. Now she looks and waits etc. She knows I'm in charge.
sure but the dog shuld be alowed ask you to stop i did this to my dog and he put up for it for a long time walked away and then opend his yaw if i wuld have kept going nothing more wuld have hapend
I watched this video 4 years ago when I got my German Shepherd and taught him bite inhibition. He snapped at me once cause I wanted to test this out and he barely put any pressure at all. Never did it to him again. Such a great dog
I love how he gently stops you by putting your hand in his mouth without clamping down. Bite inhibition is awesome! I’ll keep that in mind when I finally get a pup haha
Great video and priceless info. I expect that people with dogs that bite the crap out of them because they didn’t teach it how I communicate will see your videos and say “well your dog didn’t bite you like mine bit me so you don’t know what your talking about.” It’s like a breath of fresh air to find someone else who takes the time to study an animals behavior so that they can communicate with it.
This is bs that wasn't a bite, just another warning sign. Honestly anyone whos still fucking with a dog after it has growled and showed its teeth, well they deserve to be bit full force. Just ridiculous that the dog will get the blame every time. Also 'bite inhibition' will always be learned through playing, every human with a brain should know dogs will play fight with other dogs and people you don't need to teach them shit when it comes to that, even violent, untrained dogs will know what 'bite inhibition' is by having a basic upbringing. Also if you really believe that if Max had a tender injured body part and you patted/grabbed it that hes going to do that "bite". No, he will either cry in pain, like when you step on a dogs foot or instinctively snap and likely pierce skin.
Down Like FortySeven True. I hate how people are so ignorant when it comes to dogs. Just read their bodylanguage its not that hard. If they dont like something you do they will start to growl/show their teeth. If you continue doing what youre doing he will bite. Its just logic. And the worst part is the dog will get the blame. Just leave him alone if he doesnt wants to be touched. Sheesh.
I did everything you did in the video to try and make my dog angry/bite . Well he got really angry ,showed his tooths and he then went to bite me in my face I close my eyes to not see/feel him bite and I feel one big LICK on my face lmfao.😅 I love my dog/he loves me .

You can see how sad the dog did feel after he has "bitten" him.
Tweekify
Dogs are a lot smarter than you think.
Tweekify
Not every dog, but they still are a lot smarter than you think.
That dog was so patient with you, he gave you so many warnings. Thats some deep love right there 😉
It’s shameful to admit that the dog has far more patience than I do as a 25 yr old man

Don't even call that a tire because you're not certified so you obviously don't know what you're talking about."

My daughter likes to lay on and partially smother our dog hugging him when he's laying down. The dog will softly growl when he's not liking it and I told her that his way of telling you he wants you to stop, you have to respect him. it's his only way of telling you to stop.
@Alex are dogs robots?
@Alex
No, they should not.

Technique? Get a dog, don't abuse it. This guy is as much a dog trainer as I am your fairy god mother.
haha, there's not "secret technique" i have a rotweiller and i never gave her any training whatsoever! And she is the most docile thing ever, with me or people she never met, she won't harm anything, it's the way you create and take care of your dog that matters the most! Cheers
Funny cause I found this dog to be very sensitive. I had a pit I don’t think would bite me even if I stabbed her
I used to constantly try to bother my dog to try to get her to bare teeth or snap. Pull on her ears..tail...feet. Doesn’t matter she doesn’t care. No change in behavior other than just being happy she’s being touched. I honestly think pits aren’t as bothered by pain or discomfort as other dogs. Not all of them but her for sure.
This really helped me stop biting my dog! Thanks!!

Elite Nerd shut the fuck up you ignorant imbred. I feel sorry that your brain cant understand a fucking joke.
Shawn M is he rednose? most red nose pits aren't aggressive, there very playful.
Pretty sure he's mixed as he slightly resembles an american bull dog with his markings. He's just a giant sweet heart.
Shawn M your just lucky pal most dogs especially shelter dogs are very bowl aggressive. go buy a scratch ticket with that luck
RIP Cris.
Thank you for this video I learned a lot I didn't know licking lips meant that
Now im confused
Oh ok
In dog language, he went from "You're being annoying" to "Stop it, you dick" to "OMFG leave me alone!" to "FUCK OFF ALREADY OR I'LL BITE YOU REALLY REALLY HARD, YOU ASSHOLE!"
tyrroo Thank god someone has some common sense around here.
When a dog shows all the signs and also wags their tail it's like they're begging you not to make them do this lol
If a dog bites me i stab them
@ plz no stabbing the dogs Mr. D00d
😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
He is such a sweet dog after “biting” you he started liking your hand like kissing a injury
rabies?
Licking*
Sweet, that is the same as giving handshake after punching you in the face, not cool
Sweet? You've got a warped perception of sweet.
Different animal and not the same comparison...besides cats are mostly assholes just to be assholes.
except the rott can rip ur face off

I don't know why there's so many dislikes, this video is clearly educational and you're not mistreating your dog in anyway. But I subscribed! I like your face, your hair and your video!
lol I thought that too, he looks so personable.
I'm sure he knows much more than you with your blatantly bullshit views on "strong"
Social behaviour is nurture rather than nature in almost every mammal
Max is a lovely dog. It was difficult to watch that as you annoyed him. I love how he licked you afterwards. He was clearly uncomfortable with having to have gone that far with you.
I didn’t see much dog talk from him with his ears. Or his tail, has he been docked. Tails are such an important communication tool for dogs
Can a dog which never bit any human for all his 5 yrs, Snap his human without any warning?
@@varshaakumar07 no they usually have to be provoked especially after 5 years
@@varshaakumar07 unlikely but not impossible , for instance if you wake your dog from a deep sleep they may automatically nip at you, as they are scared!
Like ear cropping, the dog didn't go deaf.

i thought i would be distressed watching this. but you proved an important point without upsetting your dog at all. a very good video.

He's such a good boy! So well trained that he knows that even when he's the most pissed off, the most he will do is put his teeth on you and snarl a bit. I love how he licks you afterwards even to make sure you are okay.
If i do this to my dog, like annoy him and pinch his nose... Hes just gonna turn playful.
Elise Laframboise That's the same with mine.
Maybe he likes it different animals have different personalities just like us.
you can tell the trainer wasnt really sure what would irritate the dog...what irritates the rott might not irritate your dog
I feel like every Rottweiler is programmed the exact same way 😂 I love this breed
DNA might have something to do with that
DNA has everything to do with that xd
Rotsies are usually gentle teddy bears.
Yes I miss my Rottweiler, she’d catch an attitude like this one when I touched her feet and under that jawline cheek area over and over, man it’s crazy like you said it’s like their programmed 🤣
Rottweilers are some the most unnecessarily aggressive dogs. Dangerous breed. Vets hate them
I got my pitbull at 6 weeks old, before he could really learn bite inhibition with his littermates.

good video, just took 8 mins to get the title demonstration started

Good video mate, I think I've been annoying the shit out of my dog and not realising it, poor beast.
Bjamin M ik my young pitbull doggy im annoying him so thats why he gets mad and bites me now everytime i come in with her in the room
If only people weren't self-centered obnoxious pos, then they might be able to do right by their dogs, and by other beings, too.
Your dog looks super friendly and very patient
I love how he barely even bit. he pretty much just picked up ur hand and moved it away from his foot.
Ashley Vandersteen I'm sorry *paw* is the correct term xD
I have a Boxer❤🐶🐕

*☆Lovely*♡*Vee☆* my answer is this
Allow your dogs to bite playfully, SOMETIMES.
For people saying he talks too much, before practical demonstration you must learn the theory.
Wish you all a nice week.
Servals "touch him in places he doesn't like"
Hmmm... 👀
My stepdad has a feral cat he adopted as a kitten and she gives zero warning signs. You'll be petting her and she'll scratch you out of nowhere - no ear movement, no tail movement, no eye dilation or contraction, anything. She's just crazy.
Beckah Mataronas that's probably
because it was born feral.
She was adopted at 4 weeks old so I doubt that's why. Her female kittens all turn out the same way
Interesting I guess it is a personality trait. Cats are all so wonderfully different.

Thats how I know, first hand, bite inhibition is crucial to all dogs.
he didn't bite him. he was basically grabbing your hand saying stop.
If you teach your dog to have a soft mouth, that is a bite.
MissWooHoo11 - BSL for American Pit Bull Terriers! a slow bite more like nibbling
That's bullshit. I have never taught my dog about bite strength, however when we're winding each other up, messing about, he grabs me, very softly. Dogs aren't idiots. If they like you, they won't bite you.
His dog made a soft bite, the Warning bite and it is with the Bite Categorys.
if you keep on doing it then they bite harder and push your hand away.

I have a stafford shire bullterrier, I can do literally whatever to it, she wont snap or bite me, She gives the signs by licking lips, takes paw and push hand away, sometimes lift lips. but never does she dare snap/bite me.
My dog just doesn't care. That's the problem with him. I can pull his lips and jowls and he doesn't even care, he just blinks.
PåintThëWørld same with my chihuahua but my German Shephard doesn't like it but he doesn't snap.
Thats a well socialized dog. Dogs shouldn't bite you when touching their paws
Isabel Actually, it's natural for dogs to not like their feet touched because it's a weak point.
cellogirl11RW Generally a well socialized dog shouldn't feel the need to be aggressive towards humans, also not to mention the danger if the dog are around children and the dog snaps.
Half those lip licks were because he kept touching the nose. Dogs need to keep it wet because they can better detect where a smell is coming from.
The dog's mother teaches bite inhibition in the first eight weeks of life. I have had dogs in my home for 65 years, have never allowed a dogs teeth on me and have NEVER been bitten- even by injured dogs.
That is why early weaning is not a very good idea. If mom isn't there, owners have to step in and teach the pup. It's a challenge!
I do a quiet, high pitched yelp sounding like a hurt puppy. My pups always stop. If not, I quit playing with them for a moment. Also, I use a sharp NO as I walk away. It has always worked. My one rule with all animals is, "I won't hurt you but you can never hurt me".
well, you cannot tell a dog that because he does not speak English.
Katie Smith I have a shih tzu
nnxjjsjx bdjjddnnx i use to clip dogs and dogs like that i never wash i have.
VIKINGODIN well I think a kid would be able to understand when the dogs lip goes up but maybe not like a kid under 5
+KingReyOne There's always one fucking wanker,I knew one would come along, explain to me then dickhead why it's a good idea to leave a potentially lethal animal unsupervised with a child?
+AkwardTurtle2013 Not every child of any age is the same and some parents do leave toddlers unsupervised with dogs and then you see it in the papers the dog bit the kid to death.
really would. though
I'm already familiar with body language but being a visual learner I found this really helpful!
5:45 don't thank me thank the comments section.
Mc lovin omg I love super bad lol
Thanks man
Mc lovin I fuck n love when people do this in the comments.

McLoviiiiiinnnn!!!
Started a job at a kennel and this video was incredibly helpful and insightful.
That was absolutely so cute, the way he licked your hand and looked at you after he bit you. He’s so precious
Wow. I've had dogs most of my life. And I've never noticed or been told about the lip licking. This is news to me. Thanks very much for posting this video. Cheers.
I literally only watched this to watch him get bit
Linda La same xD
Linda La me two
I’m watching this while my hand is in my Rottweilers mouth.
Is he/she a good boy/girl??? :3
@@3ftninja132 Both my male & female allow me to do anything inside their mouths. I was with my female when I made my comment. Neither one has any food aggression or an aggressive bone in their bodies.
@@jadesmom5864 So I'm guessing she's a *very* good girl :D
As well as the male of course also being a very good boy.
@@jadesmom5864 So they're big fussy giants???, aww :D
My GSD is almost 12yrs old and has recently started "baring his teeth & gentle biting" usually when I groom him. I noticed (just like in your video) it's usually when I touch his lower legs/paws.. He has always been a gentle dog (no aggression towards anyone, very tolerant of young pups jumping all over him & generally well socialised. I was starting to worry that something was going wrong with our relationship. I now understand (from your video) why he's doing this and how to put it right. Thank you for taking the time to make the video.
Why am I watching this??? My dog doesn't even have a mouth.
how the Fuck can ur dog not have a mouth?
I'm dead 😂😂😂
AcE of Spades shut up its a joke
Veronica Nunez This made me laugh so much
Same my pug can barely get her mouth around my finger

Look at the dogs face. Lol
MasterAquatics He's like "Jesus! Does this guy ever shut up?"
Also 10:44. :)
That is so funny.
MasterAquatics.
what the ...
+Jeremiah Briney She's getting fat and loves hugs bro. Only had to raise my voice a few times. She is the most beautiful thing ever...
Druggie selling puppies lol
paul virlan EXACTLY!!! Thank you!!
paul virlan You are absolutely correct. Too bad more dog owners do not realize pack structure and you having to be alpha leader. Kudos!
sure but the dog shuld be alowed ask you to stop i did this to my dog and he put up for it for a long time walked away and then opend his yaw if i wuld have kept going nothing more wuld have hapend
I watched this video 4 years ago when I got my German Shepherd and taught him bite inhibition. He snapped at me once cause I wanted to test this out and he barely put any pressure at all. Never did it to him again. Such a great dog
10:13 actual bites
"Thank you" 😂
Thats the cutest warning bite ever
Dogs like “stfu already...”
Ty
Thank u
That dog is incredibly well trained. Great job man
I love how he gently stops you by putting your hand in his mouth without clamping down. Bite inhibition is awesome! I’ll keep that in mind when I finally get a pup haha
Great video and priceless info. I expect that people with dogs that bite the crap out of them because they didn’t teach it how I communicate will see your videos and say “well your dog didn’t bite you like mine bit me so you don’t know what your talking about.” It’s like a breath of fresh air to find someone else who takes the time to study an animals behavior so that they can communicate with it.
people are complaining he talks too much. HE IS LECTURING.
also, that's a cute vicious pupper.
People come to a educational channel, complain about being educated. rip.
Down Like FortySeven you are over estimating peoples knowledge of dogs. People are assholes to dogs honestly.
Jeremiah Fyan he ain't its just common sence... You shouldn't have a dog without even knowing the basics
Down Like FortySeven well ppl don't know these things evidently
Christian Miranda my dog gets really hyper and runs around when i mess with his paws lol
I hate you
@@anthonyadams3138 WHAT THE FLYING FUCK?
