Cesar is world class, no doubt. These people calling him an abuser, and ineffective, and using archaic and debunked technique are entitled to their opinion, even though they are wrong, wrong, wrong.
Yep, you are 💯% right. It's been my experience that a LOT, maybe even most, people equate energy with physical action or verbal exchange, not internal vibration or output. This is OFTEN the case with people who don't get, disapprove of or disagree with Cesar. They focus on the "exterior" world, not internal feel, thought or energy, so, the real meaning of the word "energy" escapes them.

I agree with Cesar, I had discovered the very same concept: the moment of correction is IN THE BEGINNING of an impulse, not when the impulse has already invaded the dog. The same principle applies when educating human beings and even one's self.
You don't need a yard to have a happy dog. A yard is just a lazy excuse for people that don't want to work with their dog according to its needs. If you work your dog right, enough and daily and build a relationship with it, even a small apartment is ok. It's when you get a working dog and don't work with it properly, then you get problems. They need enough mental and physical activity and a human to rely on to be happy. Don't get a working dog if you don't want to put it to work. I'm really sad about his collar. That must be uncomfortable.

Its just for the appearance - he actually said it. He likes the 'look' of a wolf, which is terrible for the environment and the wolf. Also, all dogs are grey wolves anyway just with 60,000 years of breeding out all the nasty stuff. Nice guys but when it comes to dogs, the owner is too consumed with cool/hard/biker aesthetic. Too many people get dogs just for appearances sake, whether its a girl getting a pom because it'll fit in a handbag or a dude getting a wolf to keep up a 'hard' appearance...
I feel shelter dogs are the best to get as they interact with many humans. My threelegged Pomeranian was abandoned and saved by the shelter people. She is very sweet and a trainer in my building said her temperament is good. She's not aggressive.
I have had Wolves and Wolf hybrids. They take a LOT of time, patience and understanding. They have to have the right place to live and a city isn't the place! I lived in the Mountains and my wolves ran regularly through old growth forests in the mountains. They went with me in turns into the wildreness areas too. There is a part of a Wold hybrid that you will NEVER EVER train! People dont realize the power and strength they have and the power and strength You the owner MUST HAVE if you need to stop a situation immediately. There is no such thing as a dangerous Wolf/dog, only a dangerous owner! And an aclimated Wolf Hybrid will guard and watch over a child like it was its own cub! They are fantastic! I ocasionally (when need arose) left my Alpha Wolf Hybrid with a friend who ran a day care. Anyone tries to harn the child they would have 140 pounds of solid Muscle, tooth, Claws and hair going for blood!! But yet sooooo gentle with the children! He would run leaps and bounds up to a child (happy to play) 30 miles an hour and stop just before impact and gently nudge the child to pet him! It was so amazing!
@johnstamoezz5491; Yes, but not only that; I have noticed that animals and children instinctively pick up what their "parents" REALLY want of them and then act accordingly. Evan wanted a wolf, not a dog. He want´s a really dangerous, wild animal, so Amigo is acting accordingly. Did you notice how disappointed Evan was, when Amigo was behaving well and didn´t pose any threat anymore? He was not really happy about that and definitely didn´t thank Cesar for his efforts, as other people did. He was PROUD of Amigos bad behaviour and his biting everyone! That´s, unfortunately, male vanity and quite often a male problem to be observed...
I’m impressed with the people that take on dogs that are challenging, that is just wonderful and it always makes me happy seeing one of these dogs get less aggressive
I love how patient this guy was! So many people were telling him to send the dog away but he refused. I wish everyone understood that some pets just need patience and more effort than others, but that doesn’t make them any less of a great companion.
Im in the same boat as him ): I admit, just like him I’ve thought about taking my dog to the shelter because he always bites and barks at people, makes me sad and frustrated when I cant have my friends over or family members cus of him /: but I love the little guy to death lol, I’ve been looking into trainers and im meeting with one today so hopefully all goes well :)
So true. People get dogs like they do new clothes. When they are tired and want something different, the latest coolest bestest, you know the rest....then that animal is discarded like a used paper towel. Sickening. They are FOR LIFE OR DON'T COMMIT. LEAVE THEM FOR SOMEONE WHO IS FOREVER!
Bingo! You are correct. I always say....the problems begin in the other end of the leash. A dog reacts to the handler. Trying to teach this is a nightmare. We get through it.
@@Jyjfsc7 As a breeder & trainer for the past 10 yrs, the problem is often at the other end of the leash. Meaning the handler. First, I would have put that dog/handler through a Dog Good Citizenship Class. Teach them both at same time. Please handle your dogs responsibly. The reward for you and your dog is great. Mutual happiness!
I would love to show him my photos of homes & cars. People who wanted a Wolf to be cool. Thousands of dollars in damages. I have state of art canine transport kennels. Very expensive! Would love to show him what one of my new kennels look’s like after transporting a Wolf for a few hours. I had to get the company to make me a new door. We hammered out all the bent steel best we could. It still look’s like shit. $700.00 down the drain. Leave wolves to the professionals. You can’t handle a dog. Wolf x’s 10 of that dog. Never turn your back on a Wolf. Big mistake!

Evan seems like a good guy who cares about Amigo. He friends seem like cool guys as well. He definitely shows loyalty to Amigo. Also He also recused the dog instead of getting a puppy. 👏🏻👍🏻
I hate this show. It’s misleading it’s never a quick fix to turn a dog around. Been in the business, a long time. We have had our share of what we label.....project dogs. We break them down to basic training. First, we isolate. They only see us. After a week alone in kennel giving food/water. We begin interaction and hand fed the dog. Develops trust and teaches the dog their survival is in our hands. We are alpha. Leader of the pack. Then the real hard training begins. We use firm gentleness. There is never a reason or need to abuse an animal. A true trainer knows how to get in the dogs head. I am an Indigenous woman and use art of gentling. It’s how we trained our ponies. The dogs are rewarded and praised for correct behavior. They hate to leave us. A few come back for visits or boarding. They are happy and so are we. We are writing a book on our methods.
@@rosebudadkins6803 Cesar's show may be somewhat embellished for the modern TV generation, with the "Hollywood" endings people expect. Your real world experiences and methods sound very interesting. Where do you practise your trade?
dogs play off of human emotion, if you are nervous that your dog is going to bite someone, it doesnt know why you are nervous it can only tell that you are nervouse, so chances are this dog may think that since his owner gets nervouse when his friends come around that the dog thinks he needs to protect his owner.
Exactly, when getting any animal, study what you are getting into first, or if you happen to rescue something study it too, if it decides it wants to live safely with you and give it the best possible home and vet care. Animals are expensive up keep, and also Veterinarians are the highest suicide rate of all careers. There is no pet over population in Canada or the United States, the rescues are bringing imported dogs from farmers of China, South Korea, and other countries where the pure bred dogs that would never be eaten as meat dogs are being advertised to pull on heart strings so these rescues can get exhorbitant funds that are being funnelled elsewhere and not the actual animals being imported by planes. I have imported my own pedigrees and let me tell you it doesn't cost that much to import a registered dog from a reputable breeder with papers and all it's health testing done and less than some pure bred that a farmer is not even using pedigrees or health testing or genetics. He's just got cages and these rescues are not shutting farmers down, they just keep the farmers going. So think about rescue and what it really is. If you can find one at your local shelter that's find, but don't fall for Retail Rescue, when you can import a real pedigree.
It's so damn annoying when the owners reaction is to just smile and shake their head. Why do these people NOT correct their pets? It's the same as allowing children to run amuck with bad behavior.
Where I am a badly behaved dog winds up shot and the owner clobbered physically. We're country folk and take our livestock VERY seriously, no time tolerance or patience for this bs.
"You hearing that?" - "He's not." Subscribed. This guy has perfect understanding on dog communication! Some people are so dumb assuming dogs can understand English.
I was about to form the opinion that Evan was a douche, but then I saw how much he loved his rescue dog, how he refused to give up on Amigo. We need more people like that in the world.
This is why you don’t get dogs just because they look cute, cool, etc. Props to the owner though for taking the time and getting help training the dog instead of dumping him off in a shelter like most.
The friends haven’t got a clue how to behave or feel around dogs. The dog probably barked at them in the beginning and they got scared.. plus, they are hesitant which makes the dog feel unstable and he doesn’t trust them. You might be inferring they did something to the dog but dogs don’t hold grudges.
@@lexburen5932 I agree. I have had cats for 35 years, but only had two dogs. I always thought that having a dog would come natural to me like it has with my cats. I was so wrong! I still pray that I can have a dog again someday. My first dog was a miniature pinscher who was the devil in disguise. My saying for him was, oh, he just wants to rip your throat out! He nipped at and bit some people and after a time I wouldn't let anyone touch him.
No one needs a wolf. We’ve had to step in those situations. It’s not pretty for the Wolf. You must study and understand the Wolf. If you can’t control a dog.....wolves are super smart and cunning. They will eat your lunch until you know how to get in their head. We NEVER turn our back on them.
No one needs a chihuahua - stubborn little sods who need constant attention and have huge chips on their shoulders!!! Never turn your back on a chihuahua!
Thank you Cesar. ALL the friends I have with problem dogs all claimed to know about Cesar and still blamed their dogs. Just doing the basics I was able to have a 100% success rate at addressing the bad behavior. Then the truth came out, they didn't want to change their behavior. So now their dogs only behave when I'm around. It's awesome. I come in and they rush toward me and I raise my hand and say sshhh, and they stop and wait for me to greet my friends. Then I walk over and give them a big scratch behind the ears as they wait. Thank you Cesar.
I've been watching this man since I was a child. Than there was Victoria Stillwell, than Zack with the dog training revolution. Than Tom Davis. Ive watched ALL of them, I've read a dozen books on dog or horse behavior. I saved a German shepherd mix a couple years ago. When I called up the shelter, the people there were DUMBFOUNDED that I wanted their WORST dog. The one that COULDN'T be around kids, cats or other dogs. The UNTRAINABLE one. The DEMON DOG. Yo, I literally heard it ALL. But, when I got him I didn't see an aggressive dog. I saw a stubborn dog. I gave him STRUCTURE. I gave him discipline. Now, he was my first dog. I had little to no experience when I got him. It took FOUR months to transform him. He's now months great, but still has a little problem with dogs that were still working on. But I see steps going in the right direction EVERY day! Im,so proud of him!
The dog in my profile pic, saved my life got my brain tumor diagnosed that went misdiagnosed for 42 years. Got him from a kill shelter, they said he needed out he was pacing. I took him to a store as soon as I got him and he picked out a ball while I got food. He was a ball-catching dog like you wouldn't believe the most amazing ball tricks. He knew how to rescue me during seizures and he bred seizure alert dogs for me. The ones you take directly from shelters are the best in rescue. They know they are being sprung from jail. Make sure you spoil that dog, he knows he's got a good person and may save your life one day. Java gave me CPR while I was paralyzed. Amazing what he did that night. He was also killed for protecting our home. But he was the best ball dog and loved to entertain with it unless you broke into our home especially while we have puppies. I have a new Jack Russell Terrier I imported, she amazing too. She's got me saving birds, all dogs are special in their own way, they have qualities we as handlers have to bring out in them. I never rush my dog on walks, she's allowed to sniff, she's allowed to mark, she found a baby sparrow, we brought it home and raised it on hand fed Purina Pro Plan mush because I had no time to go out and get sparrow baby food the bird needed to be fed every 30 minutes the first 2 weeks, I think his mom might kicked him out for screaming so much lol. But he grew up in our place and eventually brought back flocks of sparrows to join our pigeons that live here. I'm doing interspecies training, it's going well.
Just a thought… 🤔; when people say “time to get a dog”…. Do they ask themselves… “Why?” Like that he didn’t give up on the dog, all respect! Its funny but it takes me back to when I were a kid some 30 years or more ago, a dog used to run round the neighbour hood and terrorize people, the owners seemed to just let her out when ever and didnt care. Anyway she would run at anybody who went near her and bark and growl, so no one really did. I spent about 6 months with my dad,. feeding her when she came over to our yard, slowly getting her confident and sitting next to her, she wouid take treats but literally flat on her stomach crawling over to get them and then running with one or two before coming for more In the end after months of doing it, she came in the house and would take treats from the kitchen so long as we didnt move and do much, then she was ok with us. Ultimately that dog was the best dog I have ever met, she would run with me on my paper round, sleep on my bed, I could literally carry her around on my shoulders, help her over fences when we went to the fields to play ball. She was about the size of the dog in this video and I could walk her anywhere I wanted with no leash, she would listen to everything and she was fine with my other dogs, my family and slowly with people outside as well. Totally misunderstood doggy, people scared made her scared of them, she just wanted cuddles and love. Was a fantastic experience and I spent a year or so with her before her drugged up shit owners took her in one day and moved house, the authorities gave no shits about her everytime I tried to tell them she needs to be taken away from the people. Poor thing Ill leave by saying what an old guy once taught me. Always trust and love a dog that does not like a particular person, never trust or like a particular person who does not like the dog.
I’ve owned 2 GSDs at one time. I now have only have one. It’s about setting boundaries and establishing dominance and pecking order. The owner is the alpha and the dog follows the lead you set. If you let the dog take the lead you will lose control.
Not to be rude, but I could see that it was the energy those two friends were giving off that was contributing. Dogs are dynamite at reading peoples energies.
They have young man energy, movement and size ... even if the guys are cool and patient like these guys, an outside male in his prime is going to spell challenge to a dog who guards and protects, and they'll react to him in a similar way when he threatens them, before they even realize it. If they jump away, the dog doesn't think "oops, I guess these guys weren't so bad after all". He thinks - "ha, I've got you on the run, tough guys!" It's biology. The guys can learn to do and not do things to get past Amigo and be accepted, but it's not surprising he gives them more trouble when they come over.
Who wouldn't have nervous energy the dog already bit him the next time it might be worse the owner better take care of it or someone will take care of the dog for good
Not thoughts exactly, but dogs are aware of our emotional response. We are not aware of all details in our body language, but dogs pick it up, hundreds of details, instantly.
@ Justme77 - I was visiting a stable once, and was petting and giving attention to Ginger, one of their horses. After I gave Ginger a carrot, the woman told me that everyone else thought Ginger was troublesome. Because I didn't know that ahead of time, she was fine with me.
This is so true! I tried that theory out once. A dog that liked me kept wanting to be near me. As long as I thought nice thoughts, the dog was attracted to me. But when I thought about wanting the dog to go away, he kept barking at me and had to be retrained. It's all in the thought system. Now, I smile at dogs when I see them!
I have been watching you for years and how to use dog physiologically to have a calm and balanced pack. How my energy affects my pack. I am so thankful for learning how to be a proper leader to my dogs! Thank you!
"I thought it was going to take a long time, but it was instant." It's almost always instant, dogs are not the ones who don't communicate or don't understand, humans are. They don't even consider the dog as capable of communicating, and don't consider their own communication in smell, posture, approach, noise level, eye contact or disengagement. They then go too close, dog lashes out, people become terrified but act macho, and the dog gets even more confused. You rarely have to be afraid of any living being, if you read their signs correctly, and are honest about yours. If you're afraid, don't keep approaching, but be humble, as long as you respect yourself as well. If you're not scared, you can be somewhat arrogant, as long as you respect them as well. That's universal communication. You ALWAYS have a no, until you get a yes. And even that should never be taken for granted. Humans are invasive towards others and degrading towards themselves. The opposite of correct communication, verbal and non verbal.
"I definitely wanted a dog that looked cool". People are so unbelievably stupid sometimes. He even said he knew Cesar, which means he watched the show. Probably calls himself a dog lover too. But nooo, don't pick a breed because of their traits, you go by looks. That always turns out well for men
well seen, really noticable pain, so guys, don't play around with your bikes, first go to the vet with the dog and if he is free of pain, then the attention of the dog is big enough if you want to communicate in an appropriate way with him and he has power to mind your signs of "all is okay" etc. But everybody is pissed if you are in big pain and get visits of stressing friends etc.

Even "always wanted a wolf." But wolves are more like HUMANS than dogs! Wolf puppies have far more dog-like attitudes and responses than adult wolves do. A friend runs a wolf sanctuary in Montana, and he explained that wolves don't have thousands of years of submission to humans. They haven't been bred to work with or even tolerate people, and consider themselves superior to us. Some wolves adapt well to their chosen human companions, but very few will ever accept humans as dominate over them. The best a human can hope for is that the wolf will choose them as a companion, an equal, in the same way another person would.
This is a good dog. He knows who is coming with the good vibes. It's like with my cat. He is watching visitors and he let me know who is honest with me.
Evan could've been more humble saying Cesar is "hard to get a hold of". Yeah, he's a world class trainer. Plus the fact he wanted a wolf says a bit about how he esteems his capabilities. His dog bit so many ppl too. Cesar is very patient with animals and their owners.
OK, in principle yes, but dogs are different like humans. It's not that simple. The problem is always about the human being right for the dog, but dogs are different.
The one thin friend dressed all in black looked tense when Junior walked past him right at the end. I think he's afraid of dogs. Amigo will always give him a hard time unless he loses that fear energy.
@@mattsson-o6n He got this bites because he was feeling afraid of the dog. And when we humans are afraid of animals they are feeling threatened. That's why he got this bites. If his friends should just stop being afraid of him then the dog should just ignored them and move on.

That's not correction, that's teaching the dog that humans can't be trusted and are dangerous. That's why Cesar has been bitten so many times. He doesn't understand canine communication. If it looks like the dog is eventually ok, it isn't. It's shut down, learnt helplessness. Sad for the dog.

You want a wolf and you can't even handle this dog
Lol exactly
@@skullsaintdead take a listen at 3:49. I heard what he said. Listen to these two statements. There's no look like a wolf in these two statements
The dog reacts to you most. It's the energy of everyone. If you are nervous your dog will be more nervous.

I see nothing wrong with the dog, but everything wrong with the owners
Bingo! You are correct. I always say....the problems begin in the other end of the leash. A dog reacts to the handler. Trying to teach this is a nightmare. We get through it.

My dog licks his lips like that when he's nervous. Sometimes an aggressive dog is just a nervous dog who feels cornered.
Exactly, this dog is not agressive at al, just very vigilant.
Liking of lips like that before food is a fair indication that he is nervous and sees you as food if you enter "his" territory without his permission.
dogs play off of human emotion, if you are nervous that your dog is going to bite someone, it doesnt know why you are nervous it can only tell that you are nervouse, so chances are this dog may think that since his owner gets nervouse when his friends come around that the dog thinks he needs to protect his owner.

True, but many new owners are a bit naive about getting a pet. We are all naive about many things, we Dont know until we Know.....lol.
@@denisemezynski8014 Its terrible that innocent animals have to pay the price of human naivety and negligence.
So its bad to get a nice/cool looking pet? Is that not a big reason for a lot of people?

Lets hear the dogs side of the story of why he doesn't like the friends.
The friends don't know how to react and also show fear which animals can sense. Caesar is a genius!

This dog owner doesn't seem to be too concerned he kind of thinks it's funny I think
Well done 🤩🤩

Its funny but it takes me back to when I were a kid some 30 years or more ago, a dog used to run round the neighbour hood and terrorize people, the owners seemed to just let her out when ever and didnt care. Anyway she would run at anybody who went near her and bark and growl, so no one really did. I spent about 6 months with my dad,. feeding her when she came over to our yard, slowly getting her confident and sitting next to her, she wouid take treats but literally flat on her stomach crawling over to get them and then running with one or two before coming for more
In the end after months of doing it, she came in the house and would take treats from the kitchen so long as we didnt move and do much, then she was ok with us. Poor thing
Ill leave by saying what an old guy once taught me. Always trust and love a dog that does not like a particular person, never trust or like a particular person who does not like the dog.
Majority of the time is usually the dog’s overwhelming love for the owner and his wanting to protect his master . That’s what makes dogs so special .
Who wouldn't have nervous energy the dog already bit him the next time it might be worse the owner better take care of it or someone will take care of the dog for good
Shepherds should NEFER be chained like that. Makes them aggressive.
No dog should be chained period if you can't handle your dog get help or don't have one.
Awesome to watch Cesar calm this dog in a way only he can, Really inspiring.
Most dogs with behavior problems have never had their ass kicked.
Great video!! Humans don't realize how their thoughts affect dogs' energy.

"I thought it was going to take a long time, but it was instant."
It's almost always instant, dogs are not the ones who don't communicate or don't understand, humans are.

I was completely unafraid and just went nuts on it. It NEVER touched my dog again and every time I came down the street - it ran and hid! 😂😂😂😂
Even "always wanted a wolf."
But wolves are more like HUMANS than dogs!

It wasn't even Amigos fault. He feels the energy that his friends are giving him and then he attacks them.
of course its never the dog's fault that it bites somebody bro that shit is the most dumb shit i've ever heard
@@ksc743 i mean with all those dog bites of course he's scared of dogs
@@mattsson-o6n He got this bites because he was feeling afraid of the dog. And when we humans are afraid of animals they are feeling threatened. That's why he got this bites. If his friends should just stop being afraid of him then the dog should just ignored them and move on.
Poor dog, with a leash so short, can't move enough and all day long on concrete floor....I understand why he ls agressive, not enough space....no grass....and people trespassing his own space...
If people train their dogs they eliminate so much stress for them
That's not correction, that's teaching the dog that humans can't be trusted and are dangerous. That's why Cesar has been bitten so many times. He doesn't understand canine communication. If it looks like the dog is eventually ok, it isn't. It's shut down, learnt helplessness. Sad for the dog.
5:17 "you've gotta be real that not everything in life is perfect, and sometimes the tough things are worth working through, and that's where I'm at... I don't want to give up on this dog, 'cause he's not giving up on me" Evan. Great thoughts, no wonder why people tolerated him and his dog.
