- Full Dry Carbon Roof from Anderson Composites replaces the stock steel roof for the Fifth Gen Camaro. Stock roof has to be fully cut out to install this piece.

The terms “dry” and “wet” refer to how the Carbon is manufactured. The resin is built into the fibers rather than coated on top. It then can be clear coated on top, but does not make it “wet”, if it’s manufactured “dry”.

Is a carbon fiber hood next?
Wow that's an amazing finish and practical too with a lowered centre of gravity (always good!). I cant help but wonder if it can affect insurance/roadworthy without getting an engineering certificate? Debatable whether it is considered a structural integrity issue as you have stated, as the roof rail remains intact? Very interesting and a great outcome regardless.
For insurance I don’t have any issues since the structure is still all the same. But like always, any aftermarket part is for “off road use only”

I had been looking online into this and couldn’t find anything about roof swaps either but this is something I’ve been wanting to do on my 2018 SS 1LE with the reverse Mohawk roof but instead of carbon fiber roof swap I want to do a roof swap with a sunroof on it! I know most people would rather not have one on a track car but I’m one the few that does. Do you know if it could be done? I know you could buy the whole roof with the sunroof assembly already on it from the GM genuine parts website so certainly it must be possible. Your car looks badass by the way!

Also the location of the loss of weight is important. Here you lost it at the top of the car where 15 lbs makes the top of the car less pendulous. It’s effectively lowering the center of gravity. Fantastic mod. Looks great.
Carbon fiber is great looking and saves weight. The negative is that carbon is highly toxic when burnt so this should be considered when going with it.
Although i liked your wrap.. the white and carbon look super clean! 👌
I miss the sand wrap sometimes but it was meant to be.

I am too. Honestly a super durable product. I wouldn’t have it on my car if I didn’t trust it in any situation.
Not sure how your channel got into my feed but its odd that my customer (I'm a contractor) has an aztec blue 2013 camaro ss with 18,000 miles on it. They bought it new.

Did you notice any interior heat reduction?
Using that you lose your fishtail antenna. Was that a problem for you?
After removing it, radio and blue tooth all work perfectly fine. There’s just no signal for XM which you have to pay for anyways. Nothing serious!

that upgrade really sets the car apart from the crowd. my gen5 is black so i dont know if a carbon roof would have the same visual impact. for that sweet ride i suggest the sparks restoration " ss" center emblem for the heritage grill in the current font.its a nod to the classic.

@@stang1892 not worth it to make my steel fenders into fiberglass wrapped in Carbon. Only losing 7 pounds for both sides and will shatter instantly if my tire hits fender. Unless they had dry carbon but aesthetically yes it would have to be painted.

What did you end up doing with the shark fin?
I removed it. It's only use was for XM. I never had XM anyways. Blue tooth, radio and more all work the same with no issues.

Love the look and im sure it has weight reduction. I looked into Anderson site for my mustang and for the cost and my application of driving its not for me. But if your going the race track route I can understand that direction. It looks great for you though.

My friend is in the process of making one just like this foe my Chevrolet SS Sedan. Install is the exact same way. But I hate doing stuff like this to the my car. I feel like it would never be the same again. Just me being paranoid
I was paranoid too but I just went for it. At the end of the day it’s just a car. Happy I did it, turned out perfect and now it’s better than better!

You could but you’d have to drill into the carbon roof which lowers the integrity of the product. It only gets rid of XM lol
