I came here to say this..
I say it in every thing tha ever happened. Lennon and McCartney were underrated too. I've literally just read that Chuck Berry was also "criminally underrated". It's a good job Marty McFly played it to his cousin and his cousin phoned Chuck.

The deeper you dig into Zeppelin's catalog is when one can appreciate how truly amazing they really were. I discovered them when I was 17. I am now 43 and love them more than ever. Dazed and Confused was the first track I heard from them. I think their best album is Physical Graffiti at the moment but that changes from year to year.

      @NowhereMan7 2 года назад +5

Physical Graffiti is their best album. Its easy because the quality of the music is at the very least equal to anything else they made, but the quantity, being a double album, is objectively more. So it just is the best. If you can only choose one LZ album, its the only choice. Whats interesting to ponder is if each PG LP was released separately, then where would they each rank?

Led Zeppelin should be praised even more today than ever. The musical nuances of the songs takes years to sink in similar to the Beatles. The Led Zeppelin reaction videos on YT are all over the place. The production and sound of the songs are still unmatched today. They had 1/10 the exposure of the Beatles and Stones with very rare interviews and limited video footage. They were radical too. What other band would release an album with no writing or identification on it to shut out the critics …and the album sells 23 million.!!
They were thrash metal, heavy metal, prog rock, acoustic ,country and of course…the blues. They didn’t write songs …the whole catalog is one big groove( in the words of Ray Davies form the Kinks). They were pieces to the puzzle.

And yeah, it's hard to find a deep cut because everything is so known and familiar. Hey Justin! Man, I look forward to every episode. I have to say, the body of work The Darkness has created is very impressive. For me, you guys are right up there with Zeppelin, Floyd, Queen, and Sabbath. When it comes to Led Zeppelin, I tend to gravitate towards the deeper cuts like Tea For One, Carouselambra, Nobody’s Fault But Mine, The Rover, The Wanton Song, In The Light, No Quarter, etc.. I think even the fans forget how multifaceted they were. But, I have the opposite reaction with Queen most of the time. Instead of the the more unique tracks like Mustapha, I listen to things like White Man, More Of That Jazz, Fight From The Inside, Son And Daughter, Ogre Battle, etc.. The heavier, more straight ahead rock. Unless I have time for the album experience. I’m a strong believer in the total album experience. Which is lost on today’s generations due to digital music. Which never sounds as good as cd’s or vinyl. But, kids definitely limit my music consumption. Then, I’m subjected to 🤬 like BTS. Rock On Brother! 🤘

Coming to see you my friend since you’re first show in ATX at Stubb’s BBQ. Many moons ago, lol! Since then my boyfriend over the years has become one of your biggest fans ever. He listens to religiously everyday on his way to work and way home. When I told him you are coming to ATX at the Mohawk, he lit up like a Christmas tree. I’m just as excited to watch his reaction to you live as watching you guys! That’s how much of a hardcore fan he is. I wish we could afford to be patreon fans but we have two autistic boys that cost a lot!! So just going to see you is a huge break out of the house and we can be ourselves finally! Not just mom and dad?! Sorry for long message, we’re just really excited! See you soon! ❤️❤️❤️👩‍🎤🎹🎸🥁

Hi Justin! We (Bella & Tyson), absolutely love the music of Led Zeppelin...they are a part of our DNA! Thank you for sharing some of your favorite songs with us. There is so much to talk about how their music has, is, and will always be the greatest influence in our life as a human...born knowing the lyrics it seems and felt so much emotion, as a young child, that had know idea why tears were streaming down our face, not necessarily feeling sad, just loving the sound and having visions of a story or ideas of what was being portrayed by this music that was played throughout both our childhoods...a natural part of life...Anyway, so much that we can express with connections and life...
so here are some of our favorites ~Tangerine
~Friends ~Everyone Makes it Through in the Light Rough Mix, Early version in transit~Bron-y-aur Stomp
~Going to California~ & 1968 Live on TV BYEN/Danmarks Radio performance ...its the beginning and the end all in one moment 🎵🎶❤️
    Thanks you, Justin

Justin, I only found your channel a few days ago but I’ve watched and enjoyed many of your videos thus far. Led Zeppelin is one of the most historically epic bands of all time. As far as deep cuts goes: all your picks are excellent! For me though; the most epic deep cut of all is When The Levee Breaks !!! SO FREAKIN’ GOOD!!!

Five lesser-known Zeppelin songs from me…
    1. ‘In the Light’ (Physical Graffiti, 1975)
    2. ‘Hots on for Nowhere’ (Presence, 1976)
    3. ‘That’s the Way’ (Led Zeppelin III, 1970)
    4. ‘I’m Gonna Crawl’ (In Through the Out Door, 1979)
    5. ‘Wearing and Tearing’ (Coda, 1982)

You can’t go wrong with any of the first five albums. For the best Zeppelin experience though, there’s a five and a half hour double DVD set of their live performances. A band that truly were better live. Some bands, as discussed on this very channel, struggle to pull it off. ‘Since I’ve been loving you’ live at Madison Square Gardens in the early 70’s is an otherworldly experience. I can’t love this band enough. “Does anyone remember laughter?”

I wanted to say that I appreciate the depth and breadth of your knowledge of rock history. I also like your analysis of songs, they're very in depth and have music theory in them in a non scary way. You give every band a chance, which is something I wish I could do. Wish I could have seen y'all in Chicago. Next time for sure.

For me, the most neglected Zep masterpiece is The Ocean. Every time. The heaviest riff Page has ever played, and the whole track is just bursting with swagger. The Madison Square Park performance is brutally salty - all attitude, no apology.

A pioneering musical journey spawned from American Blues and Folk music. Led Zeppelin were a musical force that created a whole genre of musicians. The Page and Plant duo were creative geniuses. Lest not forget Bonham JPJ to round out the band.
I can attest to learning the cool riffs as a budding guitarist in 1970 and those riffs influenced my musical journey.

You know Justin, when I saw the title of this video, I half expected the typical slagging that I've come to expect when one sees some video review asking whether Led Zeppelin deserve praise, or whether Jimmy Page is overrated, etc.
I'm pleasantly surprised to see that you've chosen to take another tack, painting them in some positive light for a change. And I like that you provided a list of lesser played tracks from their first four albums.
I have a personal favorite off of Led Zeppelin II, and being a bassist who was greatly influenced by John Paul Jones, I had to mention it; "The Lemon Song," for Jones' solid, groove-based blues soloing. That song has taught me so much more about playing bass than almost any other piece of music I've ever heard. Well, at least in a rock and roll/bluesy context.
    Great review. Thanks, man.

The track I love most on the debut is Since I've Been Loving You. That record is ABSOLUTE perfection. Have to agree with Living Loving Maid. Wonderful riff on an electric 12-string. Jimmy Page in the day, was the most compelling musician on the planet, for me.
