A dark saber with a black hilt that looks like a flashlight. That way I could hide in Toys' R' Us after closing, steal all the Star Wars merchandise and cut my way out without alerting the authorities.
if you can hide then why bother using a dark saber with a black hilt that looks like a flashlight? why not use a regular dark saber that doesn't look like a flashlight?
I read in a Star Wars tech explained book years ago that a Lightsaber is possible, however, you'd need a battery the size of the Empire State Building to power it and the handle would get so hot it would be difficult to hold, you'd also need to find a way to manipulate gravity to keep the light blade from extending on for yards.
+Diana Davidson plasma wouldn't work as it wouldn't stop other plasma blades, they would simply pass through each other, and both people trying to clash would die.
You can't make them. You can't stop plasma or light at a certain point, you can't make them solid so they won't just pass through stuff and you can't fuel the energy consumption. And even if you could, it would be fucking stupid. Having a bloody neon light bulb as a blade would blind the fuck out of you.
I think they should do a video on the forms of light saber combat. I'd be interested in seeing how each light saber wielder uses their own special techniques, such as Obi and Maul do. Just a suggestion!
+Alejandro Gonzalez I hope so, because he never did use it in combat, just in duels with obi1 and luke. After battlefront I really want to see him fight rebel soldiers
I have read up a bit on lightsabers years ago and granted their crystals and power sources are dangerous and add weight to said lightsaber. One issue many non-force wielders have trouble with when it comes to lightsabers is understanding the blades length and power, as the blade itself is rather light and could easily lob off an unfamiliar users arms or so.
Here would be my ideal materials and features for a lightsaber: -Curved handle like Dooku, Ventress, and Bane, but with a larger radius than theirs' and also a couple inches longer. I think this would give it great ergonomic design and feel without compromising too much leverage. -Purple crystal, same as Master Windu, one of my favorite Jedi -Polished chrome-colored metal for the main material on the handle, much like Sidious has on his lightsabers -Grip pads for extra control and less risk of slips -Brazilian Kingwood inlays - this is a rare and expensive but beautiful and very hard wood that is naturally purple in color and with deep purple/black stripes. It's definitely a deeper violet than the bright purple of Windu's blade, but I think it would still look great along with that blade color. Plus, I'm big into woodworking so I need to have some kind of wood on it! -Polished gold-colored metal features, also like Windu has - this would DEFINITELY complement the Kingwood inlays -Belt hook (very small, though, so it wouldn't be too gaudy-looking) Not sure exactly how I'd put it all together or what the exact design layout would be, but I think this would make for a VERY cool-looking lightsaber!
Dylan hopkins we all would But what about the force and training Clearly swinging a plasma beam around would be dangerous, and we may accidentally cut ourselves
Dude, I subscribe lots of other youtubers but I can say for sure that you are the without a doubt the most competent and dedicated one I have ever seen. Well done man!
One aspect of the lightsaber battles that have intrigued me, especially as I am rewatching the entire series, was the way the user would incorporate the force with the blade in their attack. The Sith tend to couple force attacks, pushes, ripping objects and even force lightning with the attack. The Jedi also use the force while fighting to leap, jump and pull their lightsaber to them. Not to mention blocking blasters, protecting themselves from and gathering force lightning. But, I wonder if the duelists use the force when they are at cross blades, which happens often. This would be using the force to hold the blades together and manipulate the weight of the opponent. I would suggest that this is a natural and unstated way that Jedi/Sith battle. It also can explain that most hand attacks are deflected and those that land are especially quick and unexpected even aided by using the force to open the opponents defense.
I honestly think my lightsaber would be the one old Ben Kenobi used in ANH, I just love the design and look along with it's blue blade. The neck of the hilt is probably the most important part for me because it gives more maneuverability and comfort than most others that just look clunky to me. My second favorite would have to be the original ANH Skywalker lightsaber.
Hold it right there! If only a Force-sensitive can ignite a lightsaber, then how in the world did Han Solo successfully do so with Luke's saber in episode 5?
+Gustav Ramirez Not all lightsabers, just certain ones. An individual not being able to activate a certain lightsaber would be a result of the owners bond with their crystal.
My lightsaber would be purple, showing my interest and knowledge in both the light and the dark side. It would be made of melted down B3 Ultra Battle Droid and Droid Tri-Fighters scraps salvaged after the Clone Wars, showing my interests in such technology. It would also have rakghoul teeth strewn on a string, tightly secure on the blade, showing my interest for the bloodthirsty/undead. The blade would be a set extension, with a small dagger-like blade projected underneath, similar to the size of the sides of the Crossguard hilt sides, but able to deploy and withdraw without the main saber interfering. The top of the saber would be lined with four blades, making it even easier to trick foes who think a force sensitive crafted a puny dagger. The blade would have stealth and basic saber combat capabilites, making it incredibly diverse in many situations. In a duel, the user could trip the foe, grab their arm and spin them to a human shield position, use that for threat, or plunge the small blade to their back. Or could be used for seeming to give a friendly pat to an unwaring foe, but then receiving a blade through their spine.
teal color, all of the components would be stored in a bone hilt wrapped in leather with some exposed metal towards the emitter and pommel. the leather would be engraved and the blade would have an adjustable length. instead of a belt loop it would have magnetic fasteners and there would be two kortosis barbs coming from the top which would fold in when deactivated and would fold out when the blade was activated, creating a counter-lightsaber crossguard
My personal lightsaber (and the one my in Universe self) has helps me specialize in a Makashi - Djem So/Shien Hybrid. Makashi for its precision and and Djem So/Shien for its overwhelming power and offensive defence. it would feature an articulated hilt so with a flick of a switch it could go from a curved to straight hilt making maximizing options in a fight it would probably have a purple or orange blade (purple for my in universe character) because i'm more likely to be a Grey Jedi and skirt the darkside
My Lightsaber would most likely be green, with a coupler to attach a completely unidentical blue Lightsaber in times when I needed a dual-blade. The green one would have a thicker top and bottom, with the bottom turning into a sharp point, and a thinner gripping area near the bottom. The blue one would have a wider gripping area and a thinner top and bottom, with the bottom rounding out. I would have a unique coupler that would allow the two Lightsabers to connect in such a way that the coupler could not be used with any other sabers, and the coupler would allow the Kyber crystals to share power and make the weapons stronger together.
+sameei21 everybody can use a lightsaber. for a not-force-user its more difficult to learn and handle but its possible. in the movie series "the clone wars" there are several non force lightsaber users
I've recently designed a Star Wars character specifically for the fanfic I was writing while at Job Corps. He's gotten a bit of a re-design, but he still uses his own special style of Lightsaber combat. Darth Sin, a Dark Jedi who wields five lightsabers, using the force to spin four of his five behind him like a shield, covering his back. His fifth lightsaber, in my story, currently has a blue blade, from his time training with other jedi padawan under Grand Master Luke Skywalker but it is designed for a much more powerful, far more rare light saber crystal, a Corrupt Black crystal which would give the blade an appearance much like Kylo Ren's "fiery blade". The other four are red, green, purple and orange, one for the sith and one for his former friends who he slew on the battle field after leaving the Jedi Temple and learning the ways of the Dark Side through holocrons belonging to Darth Plagius, Darth Malgus, Darth Nihilus, and Darth Bane. I do have plans to have him do a time jump sort of thing, maybe go three years later after he's gotten an apprentice and have him swap to a single blade with a bag of crystals of varying purity and strength (ranging anywhere from multiple red crystals to an entire rainbow of crystals) and a light saber specially designed to have an ejectible crystal chamber that he can open, swap out the crystal and have a new color mid swing to keep his opponents guessing.
The crystal isn't the power source of the lightsaber. They have power cells, or a power pack connected to the grip by a cord. The crystal gives the saber its color and can even grant the weapon certain attributes. Like one type of crystal makes the blade deal stun damage instead of lethal damage, this crystal is typically found in the sabers that the younglings use when training before they get the opportunity to construct their own.
the power pack is ancient, one of the first saber designs and isn't used anymore, and I believe the power cells are only used to power the crystal and activate it.
My lightsaber would have a long hilt with a longer than average blade. Imagine a greatsword, essentially. It would have a crossguard made of Mandalorian iron, and the grip would have rings of the same material around the center and on either side of where my hands would grab it. The blade would be a pale yellow, and would have a "flash" function allowing me to deactivate the blade and instantly reactivate it, which could be used to make it seem like my blade could pass through an opponent's blade.
Right? Obviously using the flash function while the opponent is on the offensive would only put me at risk, but if an opponent stayed defensive and used only parries, there could be an opportunity to use the flash to my advantage.
and there is one slight problem with your strategy sadly. any strong force user you encountered would sense the danger of a weapon like that, and create some countermeasure. this is why Jedi are so "flashy" with their sword duels and tactics. the force is literally bringing their dueling to a level so superior to a basic human, that our brain cant technically process the ability required. This reason is why the design I would go for personally would be a "basic" saber hilt, with a retractable saber-pike hilt, and a shield, with an orange or white/silver blade. and because of the fact that im a wookie in real life, id probably go with a wooden style material just like Gunji from the clone wars. his saber was awesome.
+Ramseas119 Like I said, using the flash carries alot of risk... But the number of force users who would be able to sense the blade's special function before I use it would be very small. That's why it'd have to be a killshot-only maneuver. Clearly a true Jedi would never use such a tactic, but then if a Sith were to do it, an opponent would be able to sense the intent to deceive... Which is why as a Force user, I'd like to be at balance in the force. Able to use both the light and the dark, like Mace or Cade, without having evil intentions. That way, the use of the flash function would be kept to a "if it's tactically advantageous," rather than using it intentionally for the sake of deception.
I would have an Orange Lighstaber, with the ability to become double-ended if I ever needed that function. Orange is not only my favourite colour, but it would represent a mix between my passive and aggressive personality.
+Branone Sounds awesome! I have already created a character that fits in the timeline and plot of both canon and legends. He wields a yellow bladed lightsaber with a modernized cross guard design (meaning it has a force field and is stable, while still having a cross guard). This is to show that he is old school, but has some new tricks up his sleeve...
mine would be purple blade with a single blade guard for hyper aggro style piercing, with a black and purple handle.which is a project i am working on. an alternative that i would really like to make and see is a light scythe, mine would feature a second blade at the base of the staff for both surprise attacks as well as defensive applications. the blades would be purple (or red for a dark side feel.)and feature a wood and metal handle and staff with purple cloth for grip and side handles for more aggro combat.
i have a design for a light saber set based off the temple guards two bladed sabers. it's a set that can come apart or be connected togeather with one blade being longer than the other and having a bladed hook made out of mandilorian iron (the stuff resistant to light sabers) to occasionally catch an opponents blade. this way the second half of the saber can be detached and used to take advantage of a opening in there defence
materials: wood iron and inside stuff color: gold/Yellow aka jedi sentinel extras: axe handle, spare parts compartment , split Saber (double bladed that splits into two lightsabers like ezra's but gold)
+Joshua Bowman I thought that in Star wars ep1, it's told that all organic beings have midochlorians and thus every being has a small amount of force enough to allow a lightsaber to be activated
+DaClasher proxy was specifically build for training with a lightsaber that's why...proxy also was made to have a fake force using repulsers. As for grievous. Grievous was a warrior new how to use a sword and a lightsaber of you think about is like a sword and has the same attack moves for the most part
Just a very rough theory: With a high voltage self-recharging battery, you could build a light saber - take a look at laser pointers. Same principle, even with different colors. Actually, you could compare a lightsaber to a welding torch or a bunsen burner...combine those two items (laser pointer and welding torch) and you could *in theory* have a lightsaber
I would use Specialty purple or yellow lightsaber sword and dagger that was a fiber cord. It would be made out of a lightweight alloy that would allow for quick movements. I would use Dark Saber force or a battery to boost the Lightsaber. My attack style would be a combination of Form V and Form VII. I would attack Zone 1 and Zone 5/6 on opponents. I would focus on strong Middle Ring defense. I would have a special mechanism that would allow me to disable my daggers force field and use as a small bomb against my opponent.
I would have three lightsabers 2 are straight for my Jar Kai combat against blaster wielding opponents and multiple enemies And one curved hilt lightsabers for lightsaber combat
I would build multiple lightsabers out of materials that resist or outright deny another lightsaber blade, so as to avoid losing the hilts to damage. The first one my main, would be have a center core of metal in the shape of a blade, with the "light" part being the edges and point. A crossguard for extra protection and offensive strikes, as well as a longer blade and hilt for 1 or 2 handed assaults. Basically a bastard lightsaber. The color would be purple. The second one or offhand, would be a shortsword type lightsaber, with similar characteristics to the main weapon like the crossguard and color. The third and final one would be for backup or for use with the force, much like Darth Traya. This one would be a middle ground length and size, but again with characteristics of the first 2. But for extra defense, I would also build an anti-lightsaber shield, capable of deflecting energy like blaster bolts. This shield could be used for a variety of things, such as standing on to use as a floating platform, shielding one's back during hectic battles, and just plain looking Jedi Knightly. Armor is a must too.
I would use a lightsaber with a deep purple blade. For the hilt, I would have a white alloy base, with black rings to act as a grip. It would have a rounded dome bottom the same color as the blade with a small spike. It would also have a circular guard at the top of the hilt for protection, along with looks.
+Dulana Gunasena The lightsaber used was Anakin's, and there was a time where that lightsaber was lost when lukes hand was cut off by Vader. It was lost on the planet (I forget the name of the planet) but it was eventually found by Obi-Wan. During that time I think that it's possible that Obi-Wan had something to do with the usability of it. However I don't think that there is anything to support Obi-Wans alterations, it's just a theory I thought of whilst reading your question :P Also is it not possible that Fin is somehow force sensitive? (I don't think this is the case however).
I don't know exactly who Finn is but anyone can use a light saber but non force wielders tend to get themselves more hurt then Jedi and with these people obey their master obediently or serve as there own purpose usually but anyone can own and use one
id use a Silver and yellow combination crystal light-saber with quantum crystaline plating (used to make the Suncrusher and could resist turbolaser bolts) forming a classic open formed saber guard but without the pommel connection.
I would have orange double blade (which could also be a single blade) with a chromium hilt and a sort of guard like the inquisitor lightsaber except with axe blades and no spinning function . And I would use Juyo , the seventh form of lightsaber combat and used highly aggressive acrobatic combat, like darth maul
I'd light to add on to mine: dual black with dookus hilts and a hidden red light whip for emergencies. I'd also wear heavy arc trooper armor and be a sith bounty hunter most likely with some healing abilities and specialize in force drain, transfer essence, and lightning. Combat style would be ataru, vapaad, and soresu.
Non-force users can use lightsabers. It's often shown in canon, such as with Han, Cad Bane, Grievous and that one charcter how stole Ahsokas saber (forgot her name). It's just that they can't control the blade as well, since the krystal isn't controlled by a force user anymore, but even that can be overcome with enough practice and skill, as Pre Vizla very clearly proved in being on par with Ahsoka and holding up against Maul a considerable time. Similarly a kyber crystal, unlike wands in the Potterverse, can't disitguish between differnet force users, meaning that the fact that the krystals adapt to the user specificly isn't really accurate, since we also many times saw in canon that people used others lightsabers, like with Obi-Wan using Qui-Gons, Kanan using Ezras and vice versa, Obi-Wan using Adi Gallias and so on.
if i had a light saber it'd be one of those cheap 15$ ones you buy online off some sketchy Indian website that ships them in from slave labor camps in china, it'd have a synthetic poorly brownish red color like blood diarrhea, and the hilt would be made out of cheap plastic
I play Force and Destiny and in it I created a pair of lightsabers that linked together to create a long handle design concealing the second blade which was shorter then the main blade. The main blade was colored yellow while the second blade was orange. As a sentinel I was hunting dark force users while avoiding the empire and creating a group called White Shield. However the despite the odd design my saber was equipped with a second oval shaped stud on the main blades hilt that when both blades were connected would channel the power from the second blade into the main, overcharging it. The additional power would allow me to smash through opposing lightsaber blades further catching my opponents off guard and landing the killing blow. However there is a risk in this design as the weapon would overheat quickly if this system was used for to long. Eventually I built in a safe measure that would activate the dead man switch if the weapon reached critical levels.
I would have a yellow kyber crystal, but since it's rare I would settle for green. I would also use metal and hard wood in my hilt for a balanced weight, so I could move it swiftly but also deliver powerful blows. Mine would have a force field not the exhausts as well, but would have a rapier on the end for extra protection. I would also use a unstable artificial crystal without the force field for light grenades, because of how easy they are to explode
My lightsaber would be made of songsteel, including a guard above the hilt, due to the metal's light wright and resistance to other lightsabers. The handle would be longer than average much like a two handed sword. The saber would be blue of average length, along with a hidden second shoto saber that can pulled out of the bottom of the handle should the need arise. Between the songsteel, the guard, and hidden saber it would be a strongly defensive weapon while remaining light. The hidden saber would also make it ideal for offense because not only would it allow you to overwhelm a single saber or deflect incoming blaster fire while attacking, you could also guard with main saber and the pull and strike with the shoto.
My lightsaber...finally someone asked! The hilt and sheath would be made from a canyon krayt dragon's femur. I would have a krayt dragon pearl and a lava crystal. To enforce resistance to other sabers, parts of the hilt and sheath exterior would have phrik. The blade would never be off and the sheath could also be used as a bludgeoning weapon
Okay, since you asked on what kind of lightsaber I could have, I am going to say it. I hope you see this. My lightsaber would be mostly made from carbon fiber and stainless steel, so it would be at least light. The cyber crystal color would most likely be red or yellow in the case of my personality. I actually have a drawing of this, I can send it to you! :D
The reason crossguard lightsabers didn't have containment fields back in their hayday is because the parts for the electromagnetic pulsars were too large to fit in the end of the hilt, with the crossguard. But now Kylo Ren has access to smaller E.M.P. tech, so he put a containment field on his crossguard lightsaber. Also, the parts needed for the crossguard became smaller with time and new innovations, so both the containment field, and the crossguard mechanism can fit in the hilt of a lightsaber together now.
My lightsaber would be a dark purple with a nearly weightless hilt, that fits perfectly to my hand. The blade will normally be long on activation, but a option to adjust the length. The crystal will also make it to where the laser is flexible, and can wrap around another object. The lightsaber can harness power/energy from the opponent, and use it against them. Finally, the handle will be made with Top-Notch/High quality materials, the can withstand blows from most weapons, and the force from anyone accept me. And basically the harder you try, the stronger I get. And the blade can strangle anything, while it is light, powerful, and connected well with me.
if I would build my own lightsaber i would choose a compromise of lightweight but strong metal. it wouldn't be curved and the handle would be wrapped like a katana! I think I would find a blue Crystal to symbolise my fight against everything that's evil and to defend the freedom in our Galaxy! Nice Video as always. Greetings from Germany
The colour would be dark blue, with the force field inside to make the blade stable. It would look really simple, made of a light metal with 2 or 3 spikes at the top of the hilt (where the blade emits from) for surprise attacks.
*Importan information* This is no longer canon. Disney has put a new twist to how they work. Instead of the crystal being colored from the start, they will have to be hold by a force user in order for it to turn into a color that fits the user. The crystal stays with that color, no matter if it changes owners (like Anakin's). Also, because of these change, red crystals in canon are not synthetic. The red crystals are just found in planets just like any other and there color changes to the believes and motives of the user, as stated before. Hope this was usefull to any.
I love that you ask how we would make our lightsaber. I would have to go with a katana style, because I've studied sword techniques before, and that's definitely the easiest for me. Idc what color. I'll probably end up being Sith anyway.
Had never noticed the blades on Darth Malgus' lightsaber - wicked cool! That is the one I want. I love the red color, but otherwise I would prefer a white or purple color for the lightsaber.
First, the crystal is not the power source of a lightsaber. It is merely the focusing lense. The light, and superheated plasma are focused through the crystal. And i know that kaiburr crystals are lightsaber crystals in canon, but any kaiburr crystals used in lightsabers, as far as I'm concerned, are fragments of the original kaiburr crystal which is a force focusing object. The power source of a lightsaber is the power cell. Also, Adega sometimes grew scarlet crystals but it was rare. Matter of fact, the FO USING LENS of Vader's lightsaber is a rare scarlet hued adegan crystal. And kylo ren's lightsaber loks so shocky and jacked up because of ghe cracked synth crystal. It actually does have a containment field.
I would wield two lightsabers that have retractable durasteel guards that are edged and can protect the hands from blade lock but also can double as punch daggers if I don't wish to activate the plasma blades... I can also disable the guard and connect the two blades together to create a two handed greatsword style saber.
I would have a single blade saber with a purple blade and the hilt would be sleek with a dark finish. The emitter would be shrouded and have windows just below it to revile the crystals. The grip would be either leather or wood, both in a dark red finish.
I would absolutely want a compressed, dark blue lightsaber with a cross gaurd sort of like Kylo's except the filters point a bit upward. On a random note: What if someone made a different weapon that is powered by the crystal?(i.e Scythe..Claws...etc)
It would be interesting if Star Wars and Marvel shared a universe. An adamantium lightsaber would be cool. That also begs a question. What are the limits to what lightsabers can cut through? Would you be able to slice Wolverine in half with one?
The blades are composed of plasma which can melt through more or less anything with about a half dozen or so known exceptions (in Star Wars that is, IRL plasma can go through literally any solid). Adamantium has a high melting point but not high *enough*... a coating over the bones, let's assume a generous two millimeters, would slow a Lightsaber but definitely not stop it, so if you managed a good bisecting cut on Wolverine he'd end up in two pieces just like anyone else. You'd feel the difference, probably it would be weirdly like hitting a very stiff souffle with a solid-bladed sword. Going a little further, Captain America's shield is made of another super metal known as Vibranium with similar properties, except it's unique selling point is that it 'reflects' energy back the way it came. That should stop plasma, right? Well no, not entirely. We've seen the shield scorched more than once so clearly some of that energy is still getting through. Cap could probably hold off a Jedi or Sith trying to kill him, but if the shield were immobile you could carve the thing in half if you had the patience and really hated it for some reason. So what actually is the upper limit of what a Lightsaber can get through? When it comes to anything that isn't SPECIFICALLY stated to be somehow plasma-proof in the lore the only limiting factors are time and whether or not the blade is long enough. Wow, I wanted to just quickly answer you but that turned into a miniature essay. Sorry for going all college professor. > .>
The reason beskar can't be cut is because it is so dense, so the molecules want to stay together and are packed more tightly. Adamantium is known to be lightweight and strong, meaning it's molecular bonds are extremely strong. The only question is, how strong? This is answered by the comparison of adamantium to the Star Wars equivalent: Phryk. Phryk is a lightweight, nearly indestructible metal, which costs a lot, making it very rare in use for armour. However, it can withstand lightsabers, so I believe adamantium would as well. Wolverines skin and muscle tissue would get cut though.
Seems reasonable, although personally I'll stick to the idea of 'anything unless stated otherwise'. Of course not knowing the specific heat capacities of the various metals or any other comparable constants means that at the end of the day nobody can be absolutely, indisputably right about any of this. It's all best-guesses and educated speculation.
I would use a multiphase duel bladed lightsaber similar to Exar Kun's. Whereby one of the blades can be turned off and/or its length adjusted at any moment. It would also contain multiple crystals within so as to also have a light whip function as well. Its color would be white.
I would make a Crossguard Lightsaber like Kylo's only more abstract and elegant with a blue, none cracked, kyber crystal. As a Jedi Knight, I feel a crossguard lightsaber would actually make me feel more like a Knight, or better yet, a Paladin, a champion of the light side, as oppose to a regular Lightsaber and I love it.
I would have two lightsabers, using one or the other or both depending on the situation and opponent. One would be purple and one would be white with a shorter blade (just under 3ft in length). I would primarily use the shorter blade, and I would frequently swap the crystals around, so that sometimes the shorter blade would be purple.
Here's how i would make a lightsaber, to fit a Togruta force sensitive character: An elegant metallic hilt fitting inside the carved and stylised horn, claw or large teeth of a predator (an akul, perhaps?), with a Turquoise(Or slightly discolored green) colored blade. The idea behind it is to represent the union between technology and nature, in a symbiotic way, and as the phyiscal proof of the character's past event in which she has surmounted her fears during the encounter with the tooth/claw/horn's original creature, during which encounter the character first learned about their force sensitivity. The owner would be a Niman practitionner and an exo-biologist and explorer of sorts rather than a full-fledged jedi.
I would love to have a blue, red or purple lightsaber that is X shaped, can be adjusted in length, spin (adjusted speed also) and can also attach to any surface even a moving ship. I know we have never seen anything like what I just described but I think it would be cool
I would use a Purple Double Bladed Lightsaber that can be separated into 2 Sabers or only 1, for quick and surprise variations during combat. Double for Quick, Acrobatic Strikes Dual for aggresive, overpowering combat One for defensive, calm strikes
I'd have dual curved blades of mandolaorian iron and a purple blade. Also, blades would be saber staffs with short blades coming the curve so that the staff has a 45 degree bend 2/3 of the way down.
My lightsaber would be purple and would double as a wifi hot spot
hah that's awesome
XD
And a hyperspace Wifi hotspot too, so you could access sites on every planet.
i hope it has wireless charging
Mine would be orange
"Non- force users have tried to activate a lightsaber with no success" then how did Han use it to keep Luke warm in Empire
dun dun DUUUUUUUUUUUUN
Evan Block he said "some" plus Han could have had force sensitivity oooooooor the obvious answer is shut up.
Zac The Person screw you
I think if a non force user constructs a lightsaber and tries it- it won't work
But if a force user does- I think it can work for anyone after
General Grevious, Finn, Boba Fett.
A dark saber with a black hilt that looks like a flashlight. That way I could hide in Toys' R' Us after closing, steal all the Star Wars merchandise and cut my way out without alerting the authorities.
LOL😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
if you can hide then why bother using a dark saber with a black hilt that looks like a flashlight? why not use a regular dark saber that doesn't look like a flashlight?
This comment is outdated
yeah toys r us been closed
Can you do "How does Force Lightning work?"
Yes please
Carefully and with a lot of practice
With rubber gloves
Point Shoot Kill Repeat
In the words of Peter Griffin:
WHY ARE WE NOT FUNDING THIS?!?!
+Max Brandt actually since the blade is made of plasma you won't have to worry with how far it will extend
Eric Tubbing do I have to mention that in star wars they use a type of shield generator to keep the plasma stable
I think they should do a video on the forms of light saber combat. I'd be interested in seeing how each light saber wielder uses their own special techniques, such as Obi and Maul do. Just a suggestion!
Do you think rogue one will feature a lot of lightsaber screen time for vader?
No
+Alejandro Gonzalez Hopefully! Fingers crossed!
+Alejandro Gonzalez problably
+Alejandro Gonzalez
I hope so, because he never did use it in combat, just in duels with obi1 and luke. After battlefront I really want to see him fight rebel soldiers
+Alejandro Gonzalez Him or someone like that.
Here would be my ideal materials and features for a lightsaber:
-Curved handle like Dooku, Ventress, and Bane, but with a larger radius than theirs' and also a couple inches longer. I think this would give it great ergonomic design and feel without compromising too much leverage.
-Purple crystal, same as Master Windu, one of my favorite Jedi
-Polished chrome-colored metal for the main material on the handle, much like Sidious has on his lightsabers
-Grip pads for extra control and less risk of slips
-Brazilian Kingwood inlays - this is a rare and expensive but beautiful and very hard wood that is naturally purple in color and with deep purple/black stripes. It's definitely a deeper violet than the bright purple of Windu's blade, but I think it would still look great along with that blade color. Plus, I'm big into woodworking so I need to have some kind of wood on it!
-Polished gold-colored metal features, also like Windu has - this would DEFINITELY complement the Kingwood inlays
-Belt hook (very small, though, so it wouldn't be too gaudy-looking)
Not sure exactly how I'd put it all together or what the exact design layout would be, but I think this would make for a VERY cool-looking lightsaber!
Damn, that lightsaber doh!
Lol can I take that as a complement?
My favorite lightsaber is Luke's lightsaber from ROTJ,I love the handle, and that green color
If I had the money I would put billions of dollars into science to develop a lightsaber for my own enjoyment 😂
Dylan hopkins we all would
But what about the force and training
Clearly swinging a plasma beam around would be dangerous, and we may accidentally cut ourselves
Granger 1 lmao bruh explain that’s way too vague for your claim
@Granger 1 yes because creating a super hot beam in that small of an area is easy... What the fuck are you on about? Or are u just trolling?
say no more, they made one
Dude, I subscribe lots of other youtubers but I can say for sure that you are the without a doubt the most competent and dedicated one I have ever seen. Well done man!
Thanks for taking the time to explain this. As a mom of a very curious 5 y/o fan of Star Wars, I will be eternally grateful.
You're a great mom!
Can you make a video explaining all Jedi lightsaber form/styles of fighting?
I honestly think my lightsaber would be the one old Ben Kenobi used in ANH, I just love the design and look along with it's blue blade. The neck of the hilt is probably the most important part for me because it gives more maneuverability and comfort than most others that just look clunky to me.
My second favorite would have to be the original ANH Skywalker lightsaber.
omg! what if we have kyber crystals, but lack midichlorians to identify them??
also, saber staves for the win
Shut the fuck up
I am listening to this 3 years later and your voice has changed so much
Hold it right there!
The Stupendous Wave
Thanx so much for clarifying! :)))
+Mimmssyy Perhaps the crystal took on the new guy because it lost the old one?
Or Finn in the force awakens
+Blood Brothers Studios Finn is possibly a force user
Thoroughly enjoyed this one. Thanks!
Dork
@@loavesofbread2911 lmao
@@loavesofbread2911 it’s the way he described it for me XD
teal color, all of the components would be stored in a bone hilt wrapped in leather with some exposed metal towards the emitter and pommel. the leather would be engraved and the blade would have an adjustable length. instead of a belt loop it would have magnetic fasteners and there would be two kortosis barbs coming from the top which would fold in when deactivated and would fold out when the blade was activated, creating a counter-lightsaber crossguard
Nice.
Do you think you could make a video on all the Lightsaber Blade Colors and what each color means?
that has already been done, though not by stupendous wave, it has been made.
just search this on YT: "all lightsaber colors and meanings"
I just absolutely LOVE looking at hilt designs
My personal lightsaber (and the one my in Universe self) has helps me specialize in a Makashi - Djem So/Shien Hybrid. Makashi for its precision and and Djem So/Shien for its overwhelming power and offensive defence.
it would feature an articulated hilt so with a flick of a switch it could go from a curved to straight hilt making maximizing options in a fight
it would probably have a purple or orange blade (purple for my in universe character) because i'm more likely to be a Grey Jedi and skirt the darkside
TheCoool31 real life mah dood
Ooh now I can make a part 2 to my can a light saber every exist. Thanks
Hi Stupendous Wave! I really like your videos!
+Arkham Knight Thanks!
+The Stupendous Wave can you do a what if Anakin 's mother had also been freed?
My Lightsaber would most likely be green, with a coupler to attach a completely unidentical blue Lightsaber in times when I needed a dual-blade. The green one would have a thicker top and bottom, with the bottom turning into a sharp point, and a thinner gripping area near the bottom. The blue one would have a wider gripping area and a thinner top and bottom, with the bottom rounding out. I would have a unique coupler that would allow the two Lightsabers to connect in such a way that the coupler could not be used with any other sabers, and the coupler would allow the Kyber crystals to share power and make the weapons stronger together.
how does han solo and finn use the lightsaber I'm episode 5 and 7 if they are not force sensitive. (assuming that they're not)
Yeah, How?
I want a red one!
Then you're a Sith
Welcome to the Darkside
@@mckdink ...we have cookies
The blade would be a pale yellow, and would have a "flash" function allowing me to deactivate the blade and instantly reactivate it, which could be used to make it seem like my blade could pass through an opponent's blade.
that's and awesome concept that would be very powerful in a duel
+Chris Plays Games Outstanding idea sir!! Kudos!
Agent_Ocelot Cool! Similar to Kylo Ren's design? I like the sound it :)
Branone Yes, similar to that except it has a force field and looks slightly different.
I'd like a doublesided darksaber whip, that can spin like a helicopter, shoot stun lasers, has a crossguard, AND has a curved hilt.
That's pretty bad ass
+XxXDeadkydXxX very unpractical
lmfao . love it
Everything lol.
mine would be purple blade with a single blade guard for hyper aggro style piercing, with a black and purple handle.which is a project i am working on. an alternative that i would really like to make and see is a light scythe, mine would feature a second blade at the base of the staff for both surprise attacks as well as defensive applications. the blades would be purple (or red for a dark side feel.)and feature a wood and metal handle and staff with purple cloth for grip and side handles for more aggro combat.
Nunchuck lightsabers that would be epic
but supper deadly
to the user
How the f will you even hold it?!?!?!tf
+A boy from Africa i think it would be to lightsabers chained together and u could ignite them (its a supper unreasonable design)
i have a design for a light saber set based off the temple guards two bladed sabers. it's a set that can come apart or be connected togeather with one blade being longer than the other and having a bladed hook made out of mandilorian iron (the stuff resistant to light sabers) to occasionally catch an opponents blade. this way the second half of the saber can be detached and used to take advantage of a opening in there defence
my light saber would be made out of madalorian iron, chromium, Phrikk and a hint of cortosis
and it would be a single-handed dual bladed light saber
pyrobotnik zanna did use a doulbe bladed light saber.but Krayt used two sabers.
oh you know
cheap stuff
materials: wood iron and inside stuff color: gold/Yellow aka jedi sentinel extras: axe handle, spare parts compartment , split Saber (double bladed that splits into two lightsabers like ezra's but gold)
It's that really true how come grievous and use a lightsaber he has no force
+Joshua Bowman And Finn. And Han when he cuts open the taun-taun.
+Vin Ellis its extended universe bollocks that's not cannon anymore.
+Joshua Bowman I thought that in Star wars ep1, it's told that all organic beings have midochlorians and thus every being has a small amount of force enough to allow a lightsaber to be activated
Exactly
+DaClasher proxy was specifically build for training with a lightsaber that's why...proxy also was made to have a fake force using repulsers. As for grievous. Grievous was a warrior new how to use a sword and a lightsaber of you think about is like a sword and has the same attack moves for the most part
Just a very rough theory:
With a high voltage self-recharging battery, you could build a light saber - take a look at laser pointers. Same principle, even with different colors. Actually, you could compare a lightsaber to a welding torch or a bunsen burner...combine those two items (laser pointer and welding torch) and you could *in theory* have a lightsaber
Please do a what if palpatine killed Luke on the second Death Star or what if Luke killed Vader pleasse
I would have three lightsabers
2 are straight for my Jar Kai combat against blaster wielding opponents and multiple enemies
And one curved hilt lightsabers for lightsaber combat
Stupendous wave what would your lightsaber look like?
+Jeffrey Cocci I would love a purple very practically designed lightsaber. Yellow would also be acceptable. You?
+The Stupendous Wave probably green like lukes with a hilt similar to mace windu's. It's awesome how you interact with your viewers like this!
+The Stupendous Wave my would look like kylo rens but is a lot more controlled and the color would either be blue or green or yellow
+The Stupendous Wave yellow!
+Dwight West or Matte White Glow
I would use a lightsaber with a deep purple blade. For the hilt, I would have a white alloy base, with black rings to act as a grip. It would have a rounded dome bottom the same color as the blade with a small spike. It would also have a circular guard at the top of the hilt for protection, along with looks.
How does Finn use the Lightsaber then?
Anakin's is less attuned to him so Luke, Finn, and Rey can turn it on and wield it.
MegaSceptile2002 Luke and Rey are force sensitive tho
+Benje1210 The planet is Bespin and Obi-wan was dead at that time.
Great video! Really interesting and informative watch!
I have the Feeling lightsabers won't ever turn real
+Captain America not like this.
GeneralZ Imagine lightsabers were real, it would be too dangerous
yeah.
+Captain America we do kind of have nuclear weapons already.
mabey mabey not
id use a Silver and yellow combination crystal light-saber with quantum crystaline plating (used to make the Suncrusher and could resist turbolaser bolts) forming a classic open formed saber guard but without the pommel connection.
I would have a black single blade
Same!
I would have dual black
Same.
"only on the planet of ilium" incorrect "red crystals are artificially colored" incorrect they ARE artificial
incorrect they are natural but the red colour is artificial
Thanks Stupendous Wave! Now I know everything I need in order to make my own lightsaber!
if i had a light saber it'd be one of those cheap 15$ ones you buy online off some sketchy Indian website that ships them in from slave labor camps in china, it'd have a synthetic poorly brownish red color like blood diarrhea, and the hilt would be made out of cheap plastic
It would be cool if you covered force-imbued blades :)
What if Obi-Wan turned to the dark side.
Stupendous Wave, for the sake of neigh sayers, where did you find the information on the force field gaurd?
I would have a yellow kyber crystal, but since it's rare I would settle for green. I would also use metal and hard wood in my hilt for a balanced weight, so I could move it swiftly but also deliver powerful blows. Mine would have a force field not the exhausts as well, but would have a rapier on the end for extra protection. I would also use a unstable artificial crystal without the force field for light grenades, because of how easy they are to explode
"Chock-up on your Lightsaber" Blessed Be.
I already know how light sabers work but I watched it and learned some thing new😉
I hope they explore things like this in future star wars films.
Curved handle made of cortosis, dual phase, with a spiked pommel with a karambit style beak hooked blade. Red, purple, or if possible black crystal.
I'd actually probably go with a green Light Pike with a lightsaber-proof handle, like Mandalorian Steel.
+EgoFawful /
Light Pike would be neat. Maybe a Retrosaber Pike.
+hika-Gaming Sounds awesome! the katana handle is epic!
The colour would be dark blue, with the force field inside to make the blade stable. It would look really simple, made of a light metal with 2 or 3 spikes at the top of the hilt (where the blade emits from) for surprise attacks.
*Importan information*
This is no longer canon.
It actually does have a containment field.
the pic of the lightsabers side by side nearly gave me epilepsy
I'd defo go for a design similar to Darth Bane.
Looks like a friggin' lion's tooth man, epic!
I would wield two lightsabers that have retractable durasteel guards that are edged and can protect the hands from blade lock but also can double as punch daggers if I don't wish to activate the plasma blades... I can also disable the guard and connect the two blades together to create a two handed greatsword style saber.
The purple lightsaber of awesomeness that reads BAMF across the hilt.
My favorite series in The Clone Wars is when the six younglings build their own lightsabers.
The Stupendous Wave you must make great content and spend lots of time because I'm going through the comments and I see no hate.
I would have a single blade saber with a purple blade and the hilt would be sleek with a dark finish. The emitter would be shrouded and have windows just below it to revile the crystals. The grip would be either leather or wood, both in a dark red finish.
My saber would be two sabers that had a curved handle and you could put it together and make a double bladed saber
Simple thanks for another great video!
The owner would be a Niman practitionner and an exo-biologist and explorer of sorts rather than a full-fledged jedi.
could you please explain the different fighting styles?
I don't know if you are sticking to Canon for this video but in legends red kyber crystals can be found on or around dark side Nexus
Double for Quick, Acrobatic Strikes
Dual for aggresive, overpowering combat
One for defensive, calm strikes
I'd have dual curved blades of mandolaorian iron and a purple blade. Also, blades would be saber staffs with short blades coming the curve so that the staff has a 45 degree bend 2/3 of the way down.
I would love a "Katana style" lightsaber, the dude's at Man at Arms made a katana with a lightsaber hilt, it looked gorgeous!
Oh stupendous wave could you make me a video about what planets from episodes 12345 and 6 are and are not destroyed
