Theres usually a com from the bridge to the deck and most captains like to have eyes and ears everywhere they can on their boat. Its not like the captain's rocking out to skynard while the crew is working.

The deck boss should have shut him down, well before the capt had to get involved. Aggravating the capt to distraction does everyone on the boat no favors.

It is very hard and you can feel the negative energy on the boat, everyone knows it, you have to keep it to yourself as much as possible and try to tough it out and joke around. Going broke or getting rich, do the job without being intolerable.
The problem today is that bosses think it’s still the 50’s and that there’s too many people with not enough work to go around when it’s in fact the exact opposite.

It’s hard work but as long you show you are trying your best most guys will respect you. I think some boats go to far because there on camera and wanna be extreme but if you can keep up and have a good attitude you’ll gain everyone’s respect real quick

Kenny was the worst I'd seen in many years. His constant Complaining & whining was disgusting. I found myself fast forwarding whenever I heard his voice or spotted him. That’s a problem.
I would gladly love to go out on sea with you. I'd take 1/2 the cut of what you would normally pay a deck hand. I love some danger in waters. I love marine life. I'm an excellent swimmer and most important, the opportunity is the most valuable part of it all. Respect to the captain at all times. Know your role and be the best you can be! 🇺🇸
