Keep in mind that the people who know enough about computers to criticize you aren't the target audience for your PCs. People need cheaper PCs without sinking hours of research to figure it out themselves. Keep up the good work.
Mostly every piece and ever computer can serve a purpose, even long after their glory days. And yes, an older machine can serve as a first gaming machine or at least work for Social Media and streaming or what have you not. The key words are 'fair prices',and I guess his prices are fair enough.
I frequently have to remind myself that as I attempt to start a business selling PCs. But I am also highly self-critical and have fairly high standards when it comes to building even a cheap PC. I do the research and legwork of building a solid gaming PC so my customers don't have to. I am 100% transparent about what each build can do and that's what people want to know. They don't spend hours a day scouring eBay and other sites, watching hardware videos and devouring benchmark results. People who can afford to build or buy a premium PC every 2 years just look at older/budget hardware as worthless, when nothing could be farther from the truth. They're just stuck in that feedback loop of hype. I've been a gamer for a long time. I've done the early adopter thing. It is a great way to waste money. I figured out pretty early on you don't need to have the absolute best hardware to have a blast gaming. I'm sitting here with a RX 6600, gaming at 1440p and having a great time. Yeah, I gotta turn settings down and I'm not getting a million fps. But I don't need that. The games still look amazing to me because I started out with a handful of pixels thrown on a low res screen. When the original shareware version of Doom was released, I was playing it on a 386SX-20 at about 18fps. The first PC I built was a 486, when the Pentium was really starting to take off. A Quadro K2200/ 3rd gen i7 build got me back into playing Cyberpunk this year. I played for hours at 1080p30 with the absolute lowest settings possible. I enjoyed the game. I also played CS2 on it, getting over 100fps. I'm not going to sell anyone a PC I wouldn't game on myself and the fact that my own gaming PC is a budget build keeps me in touch with my target market.
Fellow North Carolinian here man. I love your content. It helps me learn about older hardware. I flip PCs myself and I’m having decent success in the charlotte area on flips. Keep up the content, I personally like to see the older stuff and what it’s capable of
I have a bachelors in engineering technology and im still learning. I enjoyed your content. Hands on learning is they best. Don't mind the backseat techs. Keep up the great work dude.
One thing you got to learn really quick is no matter what you do, people on the internet are going to jump from the weeds and criticize you. It’s the culture. Be true to yourself. You act with a great deal of integrity and I love your content. Keep up the great work.
Agreed. Gotta have some thick skin to put anything out there on the web cause no matter how earnest and honest you are, peeps are going to attack anyways. I like your content and don't think you have anything to apologize for. But I understand, say your mea culpas and move on.
Meanwhile, Toasty Bros are selling entry level PCs with GT730s and old, non-HT i5s (that just don't even work well for esports anymore) in them for like $300. Exact same scam from Amazon that they've made numerous videos criticizing. I sell budget PCs on the side and recently did a build I priced at $300. It has a 4c8t CPU and a Quadro K2200, which is basically a 4GB 750Ti, still has driver support and is more than 6 times as powerful as the 'good' GT730, not to mention the shockingly way worse 'bad' GT730.
Like you builds and your videos, well done. Giving PC parts a longer life is cool and the older games are still fun. It would be a real shame to give someone a high end expensive PC only for them to decide it's not their thing and see it spend 5 years in a cupboard. Don't laugh it happens. A low cost PC is a great way to start. We also don't all have money to splash on the latest CPUs and RTX4090s (would be great if I did though). Cheers from the land down under.
Back in the day my first pc was a pentium 1, 500mb harddrive, 32mb graphics card with 64mb ram...😅 If I remember correctly that was in 1996 how things have changed😮keep up the good work I find your videos very interesting👍
I enjoy your clips just the way they are! Some people do complain for a living instead of making something happen like You do! Keep on sharing what YOU do best and do it the way YOU wanna do it! ✌️😊
keep you head up bro! people are always gonna hate if your having fun doing what you love to do... dont and i mean dont explain yourself to any of these F******... just enjoy doing the thing that makes you happy brother! Keep up the great content!
I started flipping after watching your channel and I see it as the best hobby ever had. One month I made18 cents in interest in my savings account and I had the idea that if I took 800 out made2 pcs and sold them I would make 200 profit. A way better roi. Thank you for inspiring me.
Probably one of the most honest sellers on the marketplace that I've seen. lol I live in a major city here eats dog eat dog online. I was wondering if you could possibly do a more in-depth video of how to have a drive setup with preloaded games and programs for testing a pc without having to download them onto the pc themselves. Love the videos, man. "Stay gold, Ponyboy"
Don't listen to the haters! I'm 66. I started on a Tandy Color Computer back in the 70s. I've built several computers along the way. Your channel gives a lot of info for the novice to get into the business of flipping. The haters are going to hate!
Lol didn't even know there was a controversy or confusion. Everything seems spot-on. Hustle and honesty. Already know PC stuff but it's fun to know what people are up to
I started both my kids on older bare minimum specs and cheap peripherals. So every lil upgrade they get they appreciate it so much more and learn the difference in price to performance. Ppl are gonna get things twisted. Its just part of the RUclips thing. Steve jobs said if you wanna please everyone "sell ice cream" lol
I think your channel is great for the average pc user looking to get into computer hardware and upgrades. You're one of the best on RUclips IMHO. I understood perfeclty well what you were communicating in that "scam" video. I don't get why people get "offended" by everything and criticize the way they do.
That's my policy too, Be honest as its the only way to be, that's probably why i been fired so many times, i speak my mind and don't lie to people, it hurts them more if you lie and they find out. i Have an optiplex 5050 sff with a GTX 1050ti 32gb Ram original 15- 500 but looking to upgrade next week to i7 7700. Keep up the good vids and take care!
Love to watch others do what I do and How I do it too. Honest PC sales are few are far between, like car mechanics. I too am Customer Satisfaction with a Guaranty, Not many do what we do. Appreciate it mate. you gained a sub. Cheers.
Keep it up, you are doing a great job. Ignore the bad comments, I think it's a good thing giving old pc hardware some extra life instead of ending up in junk.
Please don't get discouraged by the snarkers! I enjoy all of your content, and don't know or care if your prices are low, high or just right. As you said, price will vary by geography, season, supply and demand, etc. The right price is the number at which a buyer is willing to pay and a seller is willing to accept. I actually got a smile when you pronounced Phenom as "fennim" instead of "Fee Nom". Chalked it up to that fact that you were probably in knickers when that chip came out. There used to be a "Cyrix 686" CPU, and I still don't know if that's a "seer ix" or a "sigh rix"? I used to watch another RUclipsr (in black vinyl gloves) who, for years, referred to an SSD as a "soul id" state drive. Lastly, I am always impressed by how neat your garage is. I have a two-car garage that 's so jammed with "stuff" that I can't turn around in it, and has never had a car in it since we moved in 14 years ago. Keep doing what you do, and I'm wishing you and your family all the best.
I enjoy your content. You enjoy what you do keep it up.I always prefer older generation hard ware still does the job and cheaper and still get decent frame rates and a good bang for your buck .Been in the computer sector for 50 years now and I am 65 years old now.Keep it up.
You've explained all of this throughout your videos. You've repeated yourself multiple times. You show when you respond to customer for support. I don't understand why it got this bad. Obviously people are not paying attention. I love your videos. I love watching you struggle and source parts and haggling around. You can't please everyone. You're an enthusiast and a gate way into the PC world. Keep going brother!!
When you sell a PC, you do the customer right by asking what is final use of the the PC. Older PC's are what many people use as it fits the need. Gaming PC's are a thorny topic for most as at what game and level of play is desired. Most gamers want a 14th gen i7 and Nvidia 4080 but have budget contraints so compromises kick in. I thought this series was great as you were fillings the needs of your customer base with you asking what the intented use is. Keep up the good work.
Good stuff man. You and I are very much alike with how we sell our PCs. I'll offer warranties on PCs with new parts, or the new parts in the used PCs. I like to sell PCs that are upgradeable or have an upgrade path, since I think offering free upgrades is a huge win as long as the PC was purchased through me.
Wild what people will complain about man, I appreciate the content and how genuine you are. Got me fixing up some older systems as well. People understand what they are getting that's all that matters! Keep it up!
If I were you I would not listen to the negative RUclips people. As with Reddit I am sure there are a ton of them on RUclips as well. I started watching your videos a few months ago. I never thought you were scamming people. 100-200 usd for an older pc is reasonable especially since you give a warranty and are up front with people and provide a full system with a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. It takes your time and when you consider your time as well as the components and auto charges the price is fair. In other words comments about how you are scamming people are contradictory to comments about you are not making money because you do not take your time and auto expenses into account. Also if you choose not to account for your time and auto expenses it is up to you especially since working on computers is fun for you. Keep up the good work, love your videos.
These naysayers are ridiculous. You sell machines that do what you say they will by the sounds of it. You're not out there trying to sell a bunch of e waste for 100 dollars as an "entry level gaming rig". Amazon does enough of that kind of crap.
I've found a lot of people like a nostalgia PC, I've been flipping a lot of older Haswell generation stuff as overpowered Windows XP gaming PC's, I do charge more than the components would fetch by themselves, but I also put a lot of work into preparing the computers, drivers in a lot of cases are a way more difficult to find than you'd think, I also have some Intel 2. and 3. gen parts that I will start using soon, in any case, people love them for their older games. My current project is a 4 PC LAN-kit using 4 Lenovo 1L Tiny PC's, I wonder if I should start a YT thing showing those.
Hey Buddy, Some keyboard warriors have nothing better to do than Knit-Pick the tiniest details. You don't really owe these Knit-Pickers any explanation. I think you're offering people great bargains, People are not obligated to buy anything. Plus you are offering your customers a warranty so that they are not going to be shafted. Nobody will do this on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Offer-up or even eBay I think your doing a great service for the community as you really can't find computer system at suck a great deal. Love your content friend. Cheers! Keep up the great work.
do you plan to build something on that green case , i've been seeing those cases for a bit know but the videos on them are not super clear about dimentions and thar kind of stuff
Yer, filter out the naysayers; stay true; you know you are genuine, that's all that counts. As for wasting your time; you learn, you share, you create. You do you👌✌
"Youre selling older hardware and your prices are too high" Ehhh from what ive seen in the bunch of videos that i have seen (granted not that many) the prices are actually really good for what it is... You being up front on what systems can and cant do will make all the difference...
A single chamber case usually found on Amazon or Newegg for $20-30. I scored a couple of them on Temu for $15 each. Matx and not easily cable managed, but I flipped them both pretty quick
@@samuelwhetstine7216 I'm looking to getting one or 2 of these for My Lenovo Development Boards. Just so they are in a case and not loose in the basement.
I like your videos, regardless of my comments. The internet is inherently critical. Ignore the haters though, many of them can't be bothered to put forth any effort. Nice optiplex on the bench! Pentium 4 with the busted capacitors? lol. I see the mac mini now. I use a time machine image to restore macs from 2009-2020 with no password. It is pretty sweet.
I enjoy your vids, though i will admit the travel cost did confuse me a little but now that yourve explained that its more about im going on this trip, and looking for bargains whilst your there, i did the same thing buying my 185hp VTi Vtec Honda Prelude Mk5 went from clacton to norwich by Train said to my Ex lets make a day of it, and will go round Norwich sight seeing, lol ok not quite the same but i get it Dual purpose.
What amazes me going through a load of bulk purchase motherboards is when you get a motherboard that looks pristine and then you get another that is absolutely caked in dirt and you have spend half hour cleaning yet bizzarely it's the pristine board that's DOA or faulty yet the one that was covered in s££t works fine.
The "you're overcharging" criticism most PC flipping/low cost used PC channels have to endure is usually pretty absurd. They see the best part prices they can find on eBay/Marketplace/Craigslist and add them up and see that a PC you sold for for 280 for they could have built for 200. They're not wrong but they fail to understand that time is money and in the end when you flip PCs you have to make enough profit to be able to continue. They also rarely consider shipping costs when you have to source parts from eBay. Add to that Windows licenses, gas, minor expenses like thermal paste, electricity, cleaning supplies. I've flipped PCs on and off for decades and there's always a minority who aggressively point out that they can build the same PC I'm selling, for less money. Well, duh. If you know how to build a PC then that's the best deal you will get. I'm charging a bit more because I've put time, effort and money into it. The targe audience is those who cannot build their own PCs. It is in the end not charity, although I always try to be fair and not rip people off, and I offer support if they have issues after the purchase.
The click baiting is what they mostly hate because their looking for us to have a bigger loss, can't find similar deals and, don't have the income to take the risk. The ones that are pointing out the age are just the common bullies that paid way to much for something their stuck with
I mean in my city I'd jump to buy one of your PC's. With a 4th gen i5 and a 770 with monitor would be like 350-ish here. Big city life.. Edit: I'm talking Canadian dollars though.
People need to calm down a little. From what I see your prices are decent and people like you do a service. Better to reuse an older PC then to recycle it.
I liked your videos because of how and what you do. nothn offends me, Your Just a regular guy doing these vids and not like these over the top creators which builds 2k-100k computers. I was once there playing on a 333Mhz pentium 2 single core computer with a whooping 256mb of ram and a 16MB video card in the 1995 circa win95 days
Scamming people-If you cannot make a profit on the work you do,why do it. As long as your prices are reasonable for the market, you are not gouging. There are always people who want something for nothing.
You know I love your channel and respect you so get on you for misspell or say but never hate or dislike anything you do wish I had money to send you some of the stuff I've mentioned in chat, but cant afford to do that, and mostly can't sell dual or quad-core CPU here it has to be 7th gen or higher 2nd gen ryzen or better they don't sell here
Really sounded negative there for a moment "GOTTA spend time with the family" like🤮. JK🤣. You can't put everything into a 15-20 minute video and what you're doing is great. Few people know all there is about CPUs, motherboard chipsets, ram, GPUs and all that. Practice makes... well better. Love your style and content so keep uploading your videos.
One thing I find in general is that...people are cheap... they want the latest and greatest but they want if for nothing. If your selling newer pc's with great parts for say $1000 and people offer you $500 I just LOL at them, that's my reply.
I understood what you meant by "scam" PC in that vid but I guess some people didn't so maybe you should explain it better next time. I liked the series a lot and I think it's good for the channel so would suggest doing another series, maybe something like how much can you earn in a month flipping PCs.
I feel you do good and the fact yes there's is a lot to learn but life is about learning but the value of your time when said and done I feel its up you on that Your married have kids trying to be a father and husband does come first alot that I felt when you was talking people are not thinking about that you have to make a good balance life too at your home (I hope Im not sounding mean or preaching I feel you give us the content that you can do what you like doing heres something Im leaving you with to be funny I think your close to them go visit toasty bros rofl Im joking THANK YOU FOR DOING THESES VIDEOS AND TAKING YOUR TIME OF YOUR LIFE TO DO THESES I dont wanna repeat it but I do wanna thank you
I'm confused and annoyed by humanity once again. The series was great and I had no issue with the content whatsoever. I'm not sure why you have to apologize for sharing with others what I would consider your artistic expression and creativity. People are so ugly and I hope you are not discouraged by the unnecessary critique of bitter human beings. As a tech of 25+ years I don't think you did anything that warranted having to apologize to anyone on here.
What a crock. You called the seller a scammer and called it a scam PC. If you never claimed to have gotten scammed, you wouldn't have antagonized the seller after you bought it nor would you have asked for your money back. I'll remind you of what you said. Here is the transcript: "As far as the seller I did reach out to him and I was very curious on um their whole mindset or what they were trying to do with this computer I messaged a seller on the Facebook Marketplace and I told him said hey you claim this to be an Lev gaming PC and that this can play all different types of games and I can't get nothing to work the first thing he says well you don't know what you're doing which he's probably right I never know what I'm doing I just kind of go along with the flow but still I should be able to at least play Fortnite or play some type of game but he just didn't seem to care so then I asked well considering that I can't get this thing working are you willing to show me or if I bring it to you can you at least get this thing programmed to play games he said nope that's your problem not mine LS so then I asked well can you refund it since I can't even get this thing running and I showed him a video of um what it was doing and how just horrible this experience is and pretty much he told me go bleep myself and block me that is a pure scammer and that's what you need to be wary of so unfortunately these computers are out there scammers are out there it is what it is it's not much you can do about it."
Keep in mind that the people who know enough about computers to criticize you aren't the target audience for your PCs. People need cheaper PCs without sinking hours of research to figure it out themselves. Keep up the good work.

6 month warranty is better than 99% of the big corps actual track record. How dare you be human and make mistakes....keep it up I enjoy the videos.
It's better than some large RUclipsrs too. Zach's Tech Turf offers a 3 day warranty.

These naysayers are ridiculous. You sell machines that do what you say they will by the sounds of it. You're not out there trying to sell a bunch of e waste for 100 dollars as an "entry level gaming rig". Amazon does enough of that kind of crap.
I don't comment often but I feel the criticism you got is unfair. I learn a lot from your videos. Keep on going.
I like when you do these type videos, see how you do things
I mean you have taken a big risk plus labour and gas and most importantly you spent time on it bro its a win win
Cheers! Keep up the great work.
do you plan to build something on that green case , i've been seeing those cases for a bit know but the videos on them are not super clear about dimentions and thar kind of stuff
yup. video on it drops friday!
Yer, filter out the naysayers; stay true; you know you are genuine, that's all that counts. As for wasting your time; you learn, you share, you create. You do you👌✌
"Youre selling older hardware and your prices are too high"
Ehhh from what ive seen in the bunch of videos that i have seen (granted not that many) the prices are actually really good for what it is...
You being up front on what systems can and cant do will make all the difference...
Whats with the Light Teal bluey green case o.oooo im intrigued.
Videos on it drops friday!!
If you're having fun doing something building pc's, parts hunting, etc. then it's not a waste of time/hobby.
No need to justify yourself. It doesn't matter what you do there will always be those that find fault with it, ignore them and do what works for you.
The ones that are pointing out the age are just the common bullies that paid way to much for something their stuck with
You just do what you enjoy doing.... then you're really not working.
Better to reuse an older PC then to recycle it.
nah man it's just people who don't know what they're saying, great series
Good day sir
Good boy you said it right lol you rass you your fine understand why you do what you do
I understood what you meant by "scam" PC in that vid but I guess some people didn't so maybe you should explain it better next time.
I liked the series a lot and I think it's good for the channel so would suggest doing another series, maybe something like how much can you earn in a month flipping PCs.
I feel you do good and the fact yes there's is a lot to learn but life is about learning but the value of your time when said and done I feel its up you on that Your married have kids trying to be a father and husband does come first alot that I felt when you was talking people are not thinking about that you have to make a good balance life too at your home (I hope Im not sounding mean or preaching I feel you give us the content that you can do what you like doing heres something Im leaving you with to be funny I think your close to them go visit toasty bros rofl Im joking THANK YOU FOR DOING THESES VIDEOS AND TAKING YOUR TIME OF YOUR LIFE TO DO THESES I dont wanna repeat it but I do wanna thank you
This guy sounds like Gavin from Gavin Garage. Lol
As a tech of 25+ years I don't think you did anything that warranted having to apologize to anyone on here.
some people got mad coz it could play some games but not fornite...
you dont have to explain sht to NO ONE!!! who are these people again? ya just people NOTHING MORE
bro your videos are good but you did not get scammed idc what you say the price you paid stop it people like that thinks the world owes them something
What a crock. You called the seller a scammer and called it a scam PC. If you never claimed to have gotten scammed, you wouldn't have antagonized the seller after you bought it nor would you have asked for your money back. I'll remind you of what you said. Here is the transcript:
"As far as the seller I did reach out to him and I was very curious on um their whole mindset or what they were trying to do with this computer I messaged a seller on the Facebook Marketplace and I told him said hey you claim this to be an Lev gaming PC and that this can play all different types of games and I can't get nothing to work the first thing he says well you don't know what you're doing which he's probably right I never know what I'm doing I just kind of go along with the flow but still I should be able to at least play Fortnite or play some type of game but he just didn't seem to care so then I asked well considering that I can't get this thing working are you willing to show me or if I bring it to you can you at least get this thing programmed to play games he said nope that's your problem not mine LS so then I asked well can you refund it since I can't even get this thing running and I showed him a video of um what it was doing and how just horrible this experience is and pretty much he told me go bleep myself and block me that is a pure scammer and that's what you need to be wary of so unfortunately these computers are out there scammers are out there it is what it is it's not much you can do about it."
Stop reading comets
why this channel isint reaching 25 k subs? why? this man is a legend and hes honest a rare Breed now a days! click that SUB button !
this is the clown that makes videos lying about people throwing computers on his lawn lol
