AMD Phenom II 1090T BE used to be a pretty baller 6 core overclocking cpu in its day, and unlike alot of other cpu's you could individually set different multipliers on each core. im sure theres games that would work ok, there is something weird going on with Fortnite anyway when ive tried to run it, it craps out complaining about anti cheat software stopping it from running, the only thing i can think off thats its not happy that im running it on more than one pc. Phenom chips do lack some modern instruction sets which would hinder running certain modern titles.
That is indeed an entry level gaming pc. It will run games from its generation just fine. You only needed 2gb of vram back then. It will run every older emulator like dolphin and mugen too. It would run well over a thousand games from that generation. The stupidity of wanting to run fortnite is on you. Fortnite barely even runs on modern entry level PCs because its unreal engine 5+ lmao
No offence man,but your expectations are just ridiculous for 40$ and i don't think you understand the definition of a scammer. This guy listed the real specs,he didn't mention anything about Fortnite or GTA V and he didn't slap a ridiculous price on it either considering a 2nd or 3rd gen i7 processor is around 20-30$ just by itself without any other components. It can run GTA 5 and older games till 2016 fine with a better GPU so it technically could be an entry level rig but not for current gen games. Again,no offence, but anyone who's buying a whole system for 40$ or even the full 60 and expects it to run modern games is just clowning himself i mean it costs less than a video game. A scam description would be "AMD 6 Core 3.5ghz processor,32gb memory,2gb nvidia graphics, modular power supply". Also "entering the world of gaming" doesn't mean just Fortnite and GTA lol you can enter the world of gaming by playing any game on this planet
@@cdnron75 Agree. Not just the RAM but also the CPU is worth 40$ just by itself on ebay still. There are many people who want to build Vista and 7 based rigs that look into buying them for the purpose. Even if he won't use it in one of his builds he can get his money back just by selling the CPU on ebay
@@cdnron75Yeah,and not just the ram but that Phenom is still worth 40 by itself on ebay. They still hold some value for the retro community that wants to build Vista and 7 based pcs so even if he won't use the processor in one of his builds he can just sell it and get his money back
I agree, the seller didn’t list any false information, didn’t claim it can run games it can’t, and denied to support it as it wasn’t his computer anymore. I’d probably act more or less the same way(minus the profanity) Ultimately $40 is a good deal for the ram and SSD alone.
I'd say $40 is a good price no matter what it's listed at. Case and PSU would cost over $40. I do understand how it could be somewhat scammy if a person thought it was a good gaming PC, but definitely worth what he paid.
@@cdnron75 gotta agree and bullying a well loved processor line and calling it junk because of its age. Its capable of doing plenty of things. Just not quite everything anymore. I'll agree about better potential bargains (if you''re insanely lucky) and it being a cautionary tale about watching what you buy though And you COULD do much worse than that! My Thrift stores try to get away with selling a Athlon 64 (multiple times) or pentium 4 or all in ones, Not even verified to work or upgraded with extra parts. And i'm referring to at the SAME or more than what he paid for this Phenom II which is relatively high end (motherboard's sata speed is what i'd question) I'll agree about ide/floppy being a indication of being old but that doesn't necessarily mean the parts are useless. Back in those days that was still on motherboards (they disappear not long after the first i7s). They were on the machine to save sata ports for hdds/ssds (they were around then albeit much smaller and pricier) You could make the same assumption about parallel or serial ports as they disappear around the same time, or the lack of usb 3.0 (though to be fair that was new at the time so there's a lot without a usb 3.0 port for that era)
MSI 890FXA-GD70, supports Phenom II X6/X4/X3/X2, Athlon II X4/X3/X2 and Sempron CPU. That board is worth some money if its working well. If u could pickup a Phenom II X6 for it its close to an FX6300 in many older retro games, it will play GTA5 offline single player just fine, and many other offline single player games. Theres benchmarks up and examples of what kind of low spec games to pick up for it.
The low price is not really that big of a red flag. Tons of PCs are being sold cheap by mothers and girlfriends to buy smack. Or PC geeks who decide to just sell off their collection quick. Just check those specs. I wouldn't call any used PC sale "a scam" if the specs in the ad were honest. You got precisely what you expected.
I had a phenom 2 x4 965 black edition like 14 years ago. It wasn't even powerful then especially considering it was competing with the second gen I7s. The 2600k was a beast by comparison.
I wouldn't call this a scam. A scam would be the seller lying about the specs and selling it for alot( and I mean alot) more than what they were selling it at. They probably used that pc when it was still new and it could game then and probably figure you could still play some games, just not anything super new. Also I like that case I would definitely do a built in it.
@@chrismay2298 Doesn't really seem to know much about Phenoms either,he acts like it's some old Celeron or something. This used to compete with the first gen i7s so i'm gonna guess he started building somewhere around the 3rd or 4th gen of the Intel era
And you formed this opinion after watching 1 video of his? He’s got his foibles, but his heart is in the right place…..I think your right about him building for only a couple of years though.

To run a game, the game has PC requirements. So look at the hardware requirements, here you have from before 2008. Yes, this processor is from before 2010. If someone is looking for equipment for some games, look at the requirements and then buy. In this case, I only have a PC for the Internet, not games. Most games require at least a 3.5 GHz processor, 16 GB of RAM and a graphics card with 6-12 GB of VRAM, not to mention SSD to load faster. There are tons of such PCs on the market and it's not hard to get into one because it's cheap and then we have a PC with which we can't do anything.
Mid level yeas on the retro side no latest EA and AAA games can not play on that old processor unless you are playing games in late 80's to 2005 era it is good for gems of war and low end games like Syberia Beyond Atlantis etc retro games including Atari titles Processor release date 4-27-2010 GPU release date 10-12-2009 DDR3 - 2007 Motherboard - 12-2009 SO yeah late 80s -2010 no 2024 games only office clerical system and change the processor to a bulldozer FX series.
Dang if you had 32 gigs of ram in 2010 your were freaking ballin. If I recall windows 7 wouldn't even support more than 16gigs unless you was running enterprise or ultimate edition.
Would make a great retro PC running Windows XP with games from that era. Would change out the memory for prob 4GB and use that memory in another build. Looks like a really nice motherboard for that era.
should been listed as office machine and the deal would honestly be 100% fine , and i sucessfully ran modern minecraft on a phenom x4 955 so even lower
I'd be angry too if I were asked the question "why this thing doesn't game". All the important parts are listed so no deception there. The buyer asked for a substantial bargain, to me this seems that they at least have some knowledge about computers and might have a general idea what phenom x6 and gt 210 are capable of. Buying it and asking why it doesn't game just sounds like a delibrate waste of everybody's time. After all "entry level gaming" doesn't mean anything because the definition of "entry level" is completely subjective.
i sell old/used PC's all the time. I list their specs /condition / photos / problems (cause some can be with scratces, or some things might not work or whatever) and let people decide if THEY want to buy them as they are. Imagine how angry I'd be if someone I sold a 40 bucks PC came later and asked me to refund / help him with anything like software setup etc. You did NOT get scammed. I'm giving you my first thumbs down for misleading us with the title / whole video. As far as if the PC is a light gaming PC, well yes it is, it surely CAN be used for light gaming (just not the games you want to play).
Something is wrong there, Phenom II X6 is perfectly capable of running win 10 smoothly. In fact, i can testify it personally cause i had similar system until like 3 years ago. I just swapped cpu for pretty comparable FX-6300 and still have it as my desktop system.
Nice retrobox, depending on market the Phenom X6 has significant retro value for people that have a non-FX capable board and are rarer than the X4's and below - this board supports the whole FX range with a BIOS update, for a major increase in capability. The G210? I was delighted to buy one from CEX (UK) for 6 of our fine British pound coins - to be my frontline smoke tester GPU ... and it does have driver, 341.92 dated Nov 10 2015, but the Nov 14 2016 update catalog drivers might be better
Just bought a fx6300 based computer for £46 which is $60 and I am quite happy and have not been scammed. Don’t want to play Fortnite or GTAV but I am playing the first Bioshock. Going to spend $130 overall to have a gtx 560 ti and 32 Gb of ddr3. I am in gaming heaven.
The 32gb is not for gaming but to enhance any multitasking that the computer has to do , I will only be playing games from 2000-2015. Thanks for the reply 👍.
No scam here. If you got what was listed, how is it a scam? An entry level gaming pc could be anything that plays basic games like minecraft or roblox. If it can do that, it's entry level.
Seven years ago I was running a higher speed quad core Phenom with an HD4670 and it played Grand Prix Legends and all NASCAR titles includng 2003 with ease. However calling this machine an ENTRY LEVEL GAMING PC, in 2024, is at a minimum, misleading on the sellers part. Doesn't matter that the parts are worth more than $40;
I agree with others, you did not get scammed and should not have bothered the guy about a refund when you were told the computer specs ahead of time. Otherwise it’s an entertaining video. Add some humor to the video instead of cutting the seller down. It was priced appropriately for what it was.
I do not play Fortnite so maybe it’s on by default, did you enable multithreaded rendering? Minimum CPU comes up as an i3-3225 and the second fastest Phenom ll should be faster than that i3.
the entitlement you got is over the top lol. wanting to play victim for the clicks. not even sure where to start. you just used to lowball anything ignoring any true value just so you can maje a profit... you got a full functional pc for 40$.. when if you would even bother looking up the ram and the motherboard have a value of 40$ each. and you got a full pc for that. onward you claim that old intels are better. man could you be any more a shield and be wrong about that lol. i got an older phenom 4core and use it on a daily basis and a secondary pc and it runs flawless no lags. so not sure how you made a 6 core run that bad.. you made your whole comment section against you lol, then you call the guy a scammer when he was upfront and sold it you you for a steal price...and now you gona just try flip it for 150$.. thats crazy lol
yeah lol he's flipping old office motherboards with tons of adapters and improvisations to fit inside generic "gamging" cases, adds some rgb, puts in an old i7 processor and some cheap workstation graphics card just so it could run fortnite and gta and then goes ahead and sells them for 200$ lol where i live i can buy Ryzen 5 2400G with 16GB ddr4 and 256gb nvme ssd for 140$ from pc refurbishing shops meanwhile this guy would try to flip this for 150 and sell old gen Intel pcs for a few hundreds
Phenom X6 is actually pretty good still, somewhere close to i3 2100 or 3240. The Fortnite wont run cause phenom lacks necessary instructions due to its age. GTA 5 still runs good on it by the way. Best case (price/performance) would be to get FX8300 or 8350, I've bought one from aliexpress for 25 USD, few months ago. It'll run fortnite just fine as well as any modern game it's a great pairing with 1050 ti.
the motherboard has to have support for it otherwise the best is the 1100T As those are AM3+ not AM3. If it has that or AM3b or something else that supported FX series yes you could upgrade on the cheap
@patg108 this board is ddr3, and this means that it will work with fx chips if bios was released (for this board it was, you can use up to any 125w chip, best one mentioned on the support page is 8370).
I had that case back in 2007. It was terrible then and it's even worse now as it has no top ventilation at all. It's just a big hot-box. I also had that same processor back in 2013. It was great then, but it would have serious issues running most modern games today.
I don't think he scammed you, he addressed the specs and the PC match the specs maybe your point of view is if you don't have experience you will get scammed by title Try to run light games like Minecraft / League of Legends / Valorant The case looks nice tho
I have seen {another popular youtuber} X79 systems with ddr 3, 4060 crank out 100 fps on most newer games. Though I am not sure what platform this one is. When people learn about the X79 systems, DDR 3 will be in high demand. I do not see a scam here. The DDR 3 and the SSD and a nice case. worth 40 bucks all day.
Yeah I gave up on local buying and selling. I build pcs and sell on Mercari. I usually buy used parts one either eBay or Mercari and new parts either Amazon or Newegg.

Never ever ever buy a PC from anyone without knowing the exact CPU, RAM, Storage, and GPU (if any) if you are looking for a Gaming machine. At least then you can google the specs and make an informed decision.
Drop a fx-6120 or a fx-8120 cpu in there. The major drop on performance of this system is it's pcie 2.0 interface. I'm still using a couple of fx systems for grins and giggles. A 580 video card will give it a fighting chance. lol The case kinda saves the purchase...at least you can build another system in there.
@ It would be a waste even if it was an FX too. Some of these Phenoms actually performed better than some FX processors lol even if he were to put an FX in it and it worked it would still not play current gen games at a playable framerate. 2nd gen i7s are the oldest cpus that are still somewhat usable for gaming today and no FX can outperform an i7 2600

Phenom chips do lack some modern instruction sets which would hinder running certain modern titles.
when you saw it only had a gt 210, you should have known what it is, with the 1050, that pc would have no problem running witcher 3,
gta 5 should run on it with atleast last gen console framerates
That is indeed an entry level gaming pc. It will run games from its generation just fine. You only needed 2gb of vram back then. It will run every older emulator like dolphin and mugen too. It would run well over a thousand games from that generation. The stupidity of wanting to run fortnite is on you. Fortnite barely even runs on modern entry level PCs because its unreal engine 5+ lmao
How do you say phenom, lol It's pronounced as F not V not Vemon lol you silly man
No offence man,but your expectations are just ridiculous for 40$ and i don't think you understand the definition of a scammer.
I'll agree about better potential bargains (if you''re insanely lucky) and it being a cautionary tale about watching what you buy though
And you COULD do much worse than that! My Thrift stores try to get away with selling a Athlon 64 (multiple times) or pentium 4 or all in ones, Not even verified to work or upgraded with extra parts.
And i'm referring to at the SAME or more than what he paid for this Phenom II which is relatively high end (motherboard's sata speed is what i'd question)
I'll agree about ide/floppy being a indication of being old but that doesn't necessarily mean the parts are useless. Back in those days that was still on motherboards (they disappear not long after the first i7s). They were on the machine to save sata ports for hdds/ssds (they were around then albeit much smaller and pricier)
You could make the same assumption about parallel or serial ports as they disappear around the same time, or the lack of usb 3.0 (though to be fair that was new at the time so there's a lot without a usb 3.0 port for that era)
Retro gaming PC, I have one with Windows XP for old games.
i bet that beast can run half life and plants vs zombies, thats why it was published as 'entry level' XD
Put the 1050ti in, swap over to a fx cpu, bang basic gaming pc right there
well 1st, no you cant put an fx cpu in it. the board does not support fx. and 2nd even if it did an fx altho newer its a downgrade for the phenom
Fee-Nom
I wouldn't call this a scam. A scam would be the seller lying about the specs and selling it for alot( and I mean alot) more than what they were selling it at. They probably used that pc when it was still new and it could game then and probably figure you could still play some games, just not anything super new.
Also I like that case I would definitely do a built in it.
You owe the seller an apology for calling them a scammer in this video.
Yep. He's not going to address this and kill his channel with the quickness.
worse than a scammer just a garbage individual
@@chrismay2298 Sad as I like his content, but more like this may as well be the case. This rubbed me the wrong way as well.
the 1090t lacks avx support so fortnite wont play do to needing it . luckily but that board supports the amd fx cpus with the black cpu slot
But the GTA V ,Roblox,Minecraft WOULD run.
Then, it's a kinda gaming pc.
If the Dunning Kruger effect was a person:
Yep. He's really thinking he's a big shot and been building for a couple years at most... Silly.
Try and pick up a fx8350 cpu cheap pop that in with a gtx 1060
it takes Phenom II X6 chips
You paid $40 for it, what did you expect? Between the two I would be more worried about the title of the video.
Also it was driving me crazy, says fee nom
Shiit, where I live you'd be lucky to buy this thing for 150, that case alone is pretty sick.
Good day sir
good day!!
A lot of the "gaming PC's" on Amazon will barely run Fortnite. LOL.
The more clicks you get, the more entitled and "pro" you seem to think you are. You're still a new guy in the PC world and nonsense like this drama will lose you more subs than you'll get in a month. Think, my man. You didn't get scammed AT ALL and you're defaming that Man's character in public without his ability to defend himself.
🙂 i think we were expecting a Tinkerer Video, were we see about upgrading the cpu and running some low spec games
you axed the seller because he didn't have pcie cables? that seems excessive.
Honestly the case is kinda cool, for $40 its not a super bad deal, and idk if the guy is a scammer though. He did list the specs.
Mid level yeas on the retro side no latest EA and AAA games can not play on that old processor unless you are playing games in late 80's to 2005 era it is good for gems of war and low end games like Syberia Beyond Atlantis etc retro games including Atari titles
Processor release date 4-27-2010
GPU release date 10-12-2009
DDR3 - 2007
Motherboard - 12-2009
SO yeah late 80s -2010 no 2024 games only office clerical system and change the processor to a bulldozer FX series.
Looks like a really nice motherboard for that era.
should been listed as office machine and the deal would honestly be 100% fine , and i sucessfully ran modern minecraft on a phenom x4 955 so even lower
agreed
Everything is stated as being a Gaming PC even many newer prebuilt are junk . Buyer beware .
I see no scam here, just you complaining, you got a working PC for cheap, you can always upgrade it
Something is wrong there, Phenom II X6 is perfectly capable of running win 10 smoothly.
This kind of shat from a creator makes me want to unsubscribe! You might want to plan your next video more carefully.
32GB ram won't give you any benefits. You should get 16GB and use the rest of the money for a GTX 1050 TI and you'll have decent performance
Any ddr3 pc should be given away for free in this day and age😂 especially in terms of trying to move the lab foward😂
He may have labeled it entry level but no one was scammed here for $40 He sold it to you for almost nothing. You should have expected no "warranty"
The good old Nvidea Geforce 210 BEAST of a graphics card.
Yeah something like retro gaming pc or something along those lines would be more fitting then entry level.
Seven years ago I was running a higher speed quad core Phenom with an HD4670 and it played Grand Prix Legends and all NASCAR titles includng 2003 with ease. However calling this machine an ENTRY LEVEL GAMING PC, in 2024, is at a minimum, misleading on the sellers part. Doesn't matter that the parts are worth more than $40;
I agree with others, you did not get scammed and should not have bothered the guy about a refund when you were told the computer specs ahead of time.
The roaches comment.. was that a reference to a particular movie?
its from a previous used computer he bought and it had some roaches living in it, be careful not to open the case inside, open it in the alley
video i did on a pc i bought unknowingly with roaches in it
had basically the same setup as my first ever pc. ran minecraft pretty well, and at the time, i was on a hard drive lol
its a 1090 t you can go in to bios and unlock 4th core will help out
the entitlement you got is over the top lol. wanting to play victim for the clicks. not even sure where to start. you just used to lowball anything ignoring any true value just so you can maje a profit... you got a full functional pc for 40$.. when if you would even bother looking up the ram and the motherboard have a value of 40$ each. and you got a full pc for that. onward you claim that old intels are better. man could you be any more a shield and be wrong about that lol. i got an older phenom 4core and use it on a daily basis and a secondary pc and it runs flawless no lags. so not sure how you made a 6 core run that bad.. you made your whole comment section against you lol, then you call the guy a scammer when he was upfront and sold it you you for a steal price...and now you gona just try flip it for 150$.. thats crazy lol
yeah lol he's flipping old office motherboards with tons of adapters and improvisations to fit inside generic "gamging" cases, adds some rgb, puts in an old i7 processor and some cheap workstation graphics card just so it could run fortnite and gta and then goes ahead and sells them for 200$ lol where i live i can buy Ryzen 5 2400G with 16GB ddr4 and 256gb nvme ssd for 140$ from pc refurbishing shops meanwhile this guy would try to flip this for 150 and sell old gen Intel pcs for a few hundreds
🤔 hmmm make it make sense
That's an awesome pc for $40. Just put in a better video card and it will play a lot of games.
Glad somebody is talking about it. Literally might as well list a physical potato with the title "EnTrY LeVeL GaMiNg Pc".
This cpu clearly doesn't haveAVX to run newer games or Fortnite at that .
With the GT 210, I would think of it more of an XP starter gaming PC. I have one with a AMD 4400+ and the GT 210 it is ok with old old games
Cool vid. Not the coolest PC or seller but there is still plenty you can do to make it a "gaming" PC. Maybe install Win 7 and run classic games.
I had that case back in 2007. It was terrible then and it's even worse now as it has no top ventilation at all. It's just a big hot-box. I also had that same processor back in 2013. It was great then, but it would have serious issues running most modern games today.
I don't think he scammed you, he addressed the specs and the PC match the specs maybe your point of view is if you don't have experience you will get scammed by title
Try to run light games like Minecraft / League of Legends / Valorant
The case looks nice tho
I have seen {another popular youtuber} X79 systems with ddr 3, 4060 crank out 100 fps on most newer games. Though I am not sure what platform this one is. When people learn about the X79 systems, DDR 3 will be in high demand. I do not see a scam here. The DDR 3 and the SSD and a nice case. worth 40 bucks all day.
Cool
Market place in my area sucks, lots of people selling but no one wants to actually meet up to sell there items LOL.
Yeah I gave up on local buying and selling. I build pcs and sell on Mercari. I usually buy used parts one either eBay or Mercari and new parts either Amazon or Newegg.
So many newbies *still* pouring into this market that have no idea. This is one step away from buying old computers to strip their ICs into gold. EDIT: You really have no idea what you're doing. Don't blame the seller, you have this for $40 - you have a bargain.
Never ever ever buy a PC from anyone without knowing the exact CPU, RAM, Storage, and GPU (if any) if you are looking for a Gaming machine. At least then you can google the specs and make an informed decision.
Actually, the Phenom is a good gaming cpu.
BUT,mind you, for a retro game pc, that is!!
Would be a good linux box.
The FX processors need an AM3+ motherboard and i don't think this is one of them since it has IDE channels
Being am3 I wouldn't waste the money/time...great office pc/youtube watching machine. lol
@ It would be a waste even if it was an FX too. Some of these Phenoms actually performed better than some FX processors lol even if he were to put an FX in it and it worked it would still not play current gen games at a playable framerate. 2nd gen i7s are the oldest cpus that are still somewhat usable for gaming today and no FX can outperform an i7 2600
@@Mirra2003-f9s I still have an am2+ system lol. Also have two Am3+ systems I play with. Just built a 2011-3 v4 2680 system I'm playing with. Fun toy.
@@Phoenix_Enterprises Yeah i have a few i'm playing with myself. It's kinda sad seeing him bash that Phenom so bad i mean if those specs are original since back when it was new it was actually a banger pc at the time. Mobo looks nice,32GB of ram, modular power supply and by the missing case slot covers it definetly had a better GPU in its life.
Rocketfish PSU, ugh. I've had a couple of those fail spectacularly and murder components.
Phenom is pronounced fee-nom, like in WWE the Undertake is called the Phenom/Fee-nom, LOL.
