    I was told by my specialist that it is very important to wait until at least 6 weeks before applying any kind of cream or lotion to the scar area.

      I agree--most lotions have synthetic chemicals as well as drying glycerins and petroleum products that are toxic. You can't find a clean option at Target, so they tell you to steer clear and that's wise. At the same time, many of them recommend silicone strips which are only there to prevent dryness and the damage that occurs when we don't have moisture. So I err on the side of pure ingredients--now and always. And I can't give medical advice, so do follow your doc rather than me! My best expert on skincare is Nadine Artemis of Living Libations. Her book called "Renegade Beauty" is the BEST.
