Man I love these styles of videos so much haha. And so awesome to see Illusion of Gaia. It's one of my favorite SNES games and so I'm always excited to see it get some love
Thanks DGR, glad you enjoyed it! Same here mate, Illusion of Gaia is so good!
Whoa, did not expect to find you on this video. Goes to show are you are a true retro gamer. Also, thanks for the list That Video Games Show!
DGR, I need you to team up with Ryu and do live SMM challenges against the team of Kirbs and Poo please. 😎
That’s a fun tidbit we see the games you play and Mario maker of course but never would have imagined you playing illusion of Gaia that’s really cool have you tried terranigma? The whole quintet trilogy is awesome
Mystical Ninja was one of the first games I ever owned and as a little kid I fell in love with it. So it completely blew my mind during the N64 Era when Mystical Ninja 64 was released. Fond memories of both those games. Great list
Ogre Battle! Defined my childhood and was a game I randomly found it as a meme with a friend.
Phalanx may be underrated but something tells me that the epic box art is part of the reason not as many people played it
You picked a great variety of genres, but I would’ve substituted Equinox for one of the 3 rpgs. It’s a sequel to the nes game Solstice, an isometric puzzler where each screen is a room from which you must escape. Good fun!
Thanks for the tip Craig, I’ve never heard of that one! I’ll have to include it for a part 2.
I put in quite a bit of time on Ogre Battle and Legend of the Mystical Ninja back in the day.
Phalanx was a great, underrated, SNES title that no one talks about... and the GBA conversion was very smooth as well.
Until you mention the box and everyone remembers
Secret of Evermore's environment and music is fantastic and fun fact the composer who did skyrim worked on the music in the game and it was his first game that he composed for.
I never new that mate. That’s nuts!
Duuuuude so happy to see secrets of evermore on this list much needed love great video as always
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Love that Game too! 😍
I love all the Action/Adventure/RPGs I'm supposed to love, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy, the Legend of Zelda... but for me, Illusion of Gaia has ALWAYS been my favorite Action/Adventure/RPG on the system.
I remember watching my brother play Illusion of Gaia when we were kids.
Other than Secret of Evermore (which is absolutely a gem), I have never heard a bad word about any of the games listed here.
Weaponlord IS "one" of the best fighting games on the system. The controls are quite different from a Street Fighter control scheme, they do make sense once you understand them a little.
This is #1 fighting game that I would love to see a quality remaster of followed by a new game made with modern hardware.
So many great games from that era! Brings back some of the fondest memories. That SNES tech. was moved on from while a lot of meat was still on the bone. The SNES was purposefully set low by Nintendo, in terms of overall power in graphical processing.
I just beat Lufia 2 for the first time this year. Its a really great RPG but the amount of dungeon puzzles gets to wear out its welcome in the last half. The story starts to really pick up but you're slowed down to hard with very long dungeons.
I'M SO HAPPY TO WATCH TETRIS ATTACK HERE, ONE OF MY FAV VIDEO GAMES OF ALL TIMES!!!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
Congratulations on being the first and only youtuber to discuss phalanx without mentioning the box art.
I love Ogre Battle.💖💖
One of the most impressive lists of games ive seen so far. Every one of them is amazing
I never saw people underrating Metal Warriors and Illusion of Gaia, but agreed on the rest, specially Secret of Evermore.
I like Run Saber, sonic Blast Man 2, and Iron Commando
Great list! But I have one burning question, are you the same gent that goes by SPVIDZ with another channel?
Mannn, I thank my parents for buying me a SNES, when I was a kid. Now, I'm advanced as an adult playing on pc. Miss these days 😭
Metal slug was on super Nintendo? I don’t think
I stumbled upon Metal Warrior by "mistake" almost a decade ago, my cousin and I played it for hours
Mystical Ninja is the only game to crack me up with it's visuals.
I think the infamous cover art is why Phalanx is underrated.
----
Mega Man Soccer. Wow, that takes me back.
----
Ogre Battle, I am pretty sure I commented on this game in another of your videos, but since the SNES only allowed you to save between stages, you're better off not pulling cards when you liberate cities but buying them from the shop between stages. Also, keep one team specifically for liberating cities, as a "good" team with clerics and the like boost your reputation, even if all your other teams are monsters, pumpkins, and witches. And if I had the choice, I'd play the PS1 port instead.
Also, only 486 likes? This video is under-rated.
Tetris attack was my first snes game
10. Mega Man 7
9. Mega Man X
8. Super Metroid
7. Super Mario All-Stars
6. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
5. Tetris Attack
4. Super Mario World
3. Yoshi’s Island
2. Kirby Super Star
1. Zelda A Link to the Past
Super Castlevania IV
Pocky & Rocky
When talking about metal warriors you say there are better offerings of the same kind on the system like metal slug but metal slug was never released on snes.
Isnt that a lufia 2 song for the illusion of gaia scene?
I loved megaman soccer but it was hard. At least when I was a kid
good choices! Actraiser deserved to be on here.
Top Ten Mega Drive RPG's please!!! =D
There are a few more RPGs left in Japan, among strategy, so it could be something like "The 10ish Mega Drive RPGs for you to play"
another good one that gets no love is 'robotrek'
also 'illusion of gaia' is a great game, make sure you play 'soulblazer' and 'terranigma' as it's part of a trilogy, I can vouch for soulblazer being awesome but haven't played terranigma yet
You have to play Terranigma. It is close to illusion of Gaia but imo it is just a bit better.
Anyone know what song plays at 9:30 ?
Phalan x was overlooked for the weird cover with the oldman and the banjo
Haha totally agree, that cover was very strange! 😅
Man I played alot of the ones on this list. Weaponlord is one of the first games I played online. Tetris attack is amazing. Never really liked Secret of Evermore. I remember renting Illusion of Gaia at Blockbuster.
Great show old sport!’ 🤪
Cheers Reagan!
I think you really need to define what "underrated" means because many of these are well known and loved games.
I always liked the hulk game on snes
I have always loved legend of the mystical ninja I guess Japan got a bunch more of the goemon games wish we did too would have loved that as a kid
Some good ones in the list 👌
Metal Warriors is a better enjoyed with Game Genie cheats although without cheats it's still quite enjoyable too.
What is the game the intro music is from. It sounds very familiar. Maybe super hang on or a 2d side scrolling shooter who's name I can't think of.
Figured it out. It was super hang on. I knew it sounded familiar. I remember playing that back in arcades in the early 90's. The good old times.
I think Toy Story 1 is an underrated SNES game.
Before I watch I'm just saying zombie ate my neighbors better be on this list
metal warriors is such a great game
Just finished playing Link to the past.. gahdam what happened
Cybernator was underrated too
Great suggestion!
Never played Phalanx, but I'll give it a... shot. 😉
Tetris Attack is my jam!
Cybernator had a better story than Metal Warrior, but the different mechs make it special.
Weaponlord looks interesting.
Ogre Battle seems down my strategic line.
Lufia 2's boss theme lives in my playlist!
Megaman Soccer is the only think I like about the most popular sport in the world.
Mystical Ninja... a classic, but the first N64 game is an epic!
Secret of Evermore? I was disappointed it was not Secret of Mana.
Illusion of Gaia is such an adventure. Tgat sky temple tho.....
My pick: Mario Paint. I played that game from 1993 to 2000 faithfully, designing scenes from made-up games, composing simple songs, making rudimentary animations, recording scenes on VHS, and... swatting flies with vigor!
Also, Ninjawarriors. Robot ninjas. 'Nuff said.
Great video, TVGS!
Glad you found some new games to try out CJ! Thanks for watching mate 🙂
I don't think I've owned or played most of the games In this vid.
This might be subjective, but Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues was an underrated SNES game in my opinion.
It can be brutal, but it is fun to play, especially 2 player. Plus the intro cutscene for a SNES game was impressive.
I’ve never tried Jurassic Park 2, thanks for the tip man! I’ll have to check it out.
@That Video Games Show, You're welcome.
Jurassic Park 2 SNES is basically Contra meets Jurassic Park. Some pretty good music too.
The 1st SNES Jurassic Park gan e isn't bad too. It has got some good music and neat FPS moments.
Damn it nano 😂
Haha
Game list, please.👍
Make a vídeo of sega genesis underrated games.
I absolutely adored Mega Man Soccer!! 🤖 ⚽️ 🥅
I’ve always thought that Axley is underrated. A stunning shooter for it’s time that switched between side scrolling and a top down view. It had some great boss designs and good use of Mode 7. Thing is, it seems that not a lot of people got to play it back in the day. Shame.
Never heard of it myself! I’ll have to check it out, thanks for the tip! 🙂
Cool. Hope you enjoy it. It’s actually spelt Axelay. My bad. Just like to mention that as far as I can remember it is a little easy on the lower difficulty settings but don’t let that put you off.
Secret of Evermore et Terranigma sont magnifiques sur snes.
Sorry @That Video Game Show, I think Lufia 2 is original enough.
what is the first theme playing in the intro?
@@societyofsin thx
Metal Slug isn't on the SNES??
Megaman soccer is dope
One of the greats!
Metal warriors is not underrated. Pretty much a common game for classic arcades.
Illusion of Gaia might be the most enjoyable snes game there is.
I'm stuck in the stupid sky temple thing I gave up it was so frustrating. Before that I was loving it.
Did you say metal slug is on the Super Nintendo?
Not a bad list
Thanks!
no shadowrun???
They all nice
Thanks Rescue!
You are welcome 👍
First!
These videos are deep sad
Secret of evermore sucks. Very boring game
Underrated? This is more interesting than obscure. Let us find out then.
Good list. These all did not get the credit they deserved
