Now I live in the city and have seen Adam and Chris play together at 55 Bar. Honestly a dream come true. I'm so thankful for the constant inspiration and joy that this documentary brings, let it remain on RUclips forever!

I wish there was, I am searching constantly for more truth…
Chris to me is a modern jazz giant, and this is a great and intimate film about his band. All of the players are great, I especially love Adam's guitar playing.

I've just discovered this band. Mindblown. Haven't been this excited about a saxophonist ever since I've heard Michael Brecker for the first time. Also, this Adam Rogers is a beast, too. Can't believe I didn't know about these guys.
This whole video stirs deep emotion and makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time. The pinnacle of human creativity and joy/sadness/introspect all rolled into one...
It makes absolutely no sense but I'm ridiculously proud of Chris Potter. In Columbia, SC, circa late '80s, I was an absolute hack mucking about in school jazz bands and he was already a sax god, gigging weekly at a downtown venue and already immersed in student performing groups at USC. We are basically the same age and hail from the same neck of the woods, but that's about all we have in common.
In my opinion, Potter is one of the three giants of contemporary saxophone playing: Joshua Redman, Mark Turner and Chris Potter. And I had no idea Nate Smith was as inventive and organic a composer as a drummer!
I saw each song about 20 times since I found this video, and it was yesterday :) IT IS CRAZY!!!!! I wish to see you four gentlemens LIVE making this wonderfull music which change my life completly!!!
I like this music very much, and the players have real roots. Chris soundS like a cross of Coltrane ans Sonny Rollins with a whole new language. GREAT.

I really like what Chris and his group are doing. The first time I saw him was in England playing in the Dave Holland band several years ago. I remember how he impressed in a terrific lineup that included Kenny Wheeler as a guest. He is a really nice guy with a terrific technique-he has really payed his dues and fully deserves the recognition that he is now getting. A great upload!

As I said, it's the solo section in the middle of the song. Pop Tune #1 begins quietly with a beautiful melody and then, at around the six-minute mark, there's a dramatic shift and it takes off into a blues/funk groove. Keep in mind, it's an improvisation so the track on the cd is different than the live performance but, I can assure you, it's just as dynamic.
I have been looking around for years to see if there is any unedited recording of this obviously phenomenal show anywhere. Purchasable through any sort of official channels, bootlegged, whatever. If anyone knows of such a thing please let me know.
As far as I know, they have not. I spoke to Nate, the drummer, on Instagram a few months ago and he said they were recording a new record in December. So as long as that has not changed, I expect to hear these tunes on that!
Hey Raeven, Train can be found on the live Follow the Red Line record. Bounce was formally released on Nate Smith's Kinfolk record which came out earlier this year. I don't think any of the others have been released. Adam Rogers' DICE just put out their first record this past week and Nate plays on it so it's pretty similar to the groove based tracks. Great stuff!

The rhythm sets it apart but the harmony is so creative. Love it. Redman, Branford Marsalis and Chris Potter on the same bill would be insane.
