I dislike quartz watches and integrated bracelets, so naturally, I’m in love with my mint dial quartz PRX with phenomenal integrated bracelet! I find myself wearing it constantly.
I love mine it's an absolute stunner and I even got 20% off at the AD. A proper retro design with a great bracelet (usually the downfall of affordable watches) and the gold plating is really well done. I can't think of another watch for this sort of money that comes close.
I specifically bought the 35mm gold PRX because I want the 222 and deep down know it’s unlikely I’ll ever own one. It feels so ‘Miami’ on the wrist, I love it.
@@a13698752 The original 222 came in 34 and 37 I think, plus a smaller size for ladies, i'd say 35 has the vintage feel, although if you have a larger wrist then the 40 will look great. You could of course just wait another year and Tissot will probably bring out a 37mm then it'll be just like the current 222. I'll be getting that for sure when it happens.
Took me some time but I've finally took the quartz blue, because of the much thinner profile of the quartz against the automatic, and it's a serious piece for a standard office day, but it's not high end enough to bring on a business meeting. The bracelet gives it all.
I just got the “green mint” version. I have to say it looks better in person than I ever thought. So I’m not surprised that this gold plated watch has that effect.
My friend.. thank you. This is the best video I’ve seen so far about the Gold PVD PRX. I still definitely need to try it on before I make a purchase decision but this video has definitely helped a lot on defining if this is the watch I want.
Oh man, I perfectly understand what you mean. Personally I have 5 PRXs : 3 powematic 80 - blue, black and white/gold, and off course this exactly gold pvd version. Also have a chrono but the new white blue silver panda (perhaps I will also purchase the blue dial version, we'll see). Congrats on your collection, cheers! 😃
Heads up , Tissot makes a prx with a solid 18kt gold bezel , it's about 2,000 dollars 😂, and they also make a Tissot gents powermatic 80 with a 18kt gold bezel it's part of there t-gold line
Nice. I own the 35mm gold now for 2 weeks. It’s a “fun” watch with a major different feel than my other watches. Yeah it’s a bit bold but that’s the appeal of this watch. Not for every day but definitely a welcome addition. Maybe I wil remove the secondshand on short notice for more appeal of the dial. Enjoy your 40mm 🎉 good fit for your wrist
A quick heads up for anybody ordering one online, the gold 35 wears great because the colour of the watch blends with the dial (I have a 17cm, 6.3/4 wrist btw) But I tried on a green dial 35mm auto and it wore much smaller because of the dial being more apparent and too small, so if you're going stainless steel, then go silver dial or gold and gold etc otherwise wait for a 37mm option.
Thank you!! I tried on a SS with green dial in 35mm and it looked way too small on my wrist, even though I have seen many pictures online of it wearing great in men. Ended up buying the 40mm (powermatic green) and loving it, but I might one day get the 35mm gold one too ;)
Just a point on presentation Bruce. Long time fan by the way. Although I think this was the 40mm in your video (i had to guess by the dial tone) It is always helpful to call out the reference number or state the size/model in your vids. I don't think you specified and my big conundrum with this one is deciding on the 35mm vs. 40mm version for my 7.25" wrist. One of the reasons I love watching your vids is we are similar size and I like seeing the wrist rolls!
I think 40mm would work best for you. My wrist is a flat 6.7" and the 35mm was slightly too small for me. If there was a custom option I would have this made in 37 or 38mm.
Holy shit! This looks phenomenal. I was lucky enough to win this same PRX in SS from Tony from "Talking Timepieces with Tony" (great channel btw and Tony is hilarious!). I love this thing. It wears so well on the wrist. Just melts right onto it with a butter smooth caseback.
I just impulse bought this watch and I have to say I get you, I am in love with it and I have a serious collection of watches which probably equates to over 200K for the 6 I own. They are all just boring monochrome timepieces, the feel I get wearing this gold Tissot tops them all. It’s made me realise I need a serious all gold watch in my collection.
I got the PRX with mint/turquoise/Tiffany blue, whatever you want to call it, for Christmas. I know that feeling of being really impressed and surprised. I nearly have Rolex fatigue and this was refreshing. I have a Hulk, Rootbeer, black 41 sub date and a Tudor Panda Chrono and since I got the Tissot I haven't put any of them on. I think I'm going to buy the gold PRX too. It would look amazing with a green dial too I think 👌
The PRX 35mm in gold is super comfortable and well-made. I don't think my GS SBGW253 is as shiny as this PRX. It's almost blinding when you do a wrist roll!!!
BW , go solid Gold. You need at least one solid gold watch, get a Daytona not a Day/Date (to common and don't hold value as well). Tissot looks great, I am lucky enough to own the 222 and the PRX. I think both watches are excellent.
@@popamonkey190 i tried them both and couldn't make a choice about 35mm and 40mm, 40 gold is striking and 35 is just a bit small, am looking for another stainles steel gold pvd watch
I have been eyeing this thing for months, but for whatever reason I don’t feel ‘ready’? Seeing it in your video has fully te-lighted my desire for it. Might have to do this after all
I love the gold watch of this. I originally bought the quartz, then found out they were releasing the automatic. After realizing i really wanted the auto despite the $300 increase, I got it. There was zero buyer's remorse and the watch still makes me smile everytime i look at it. It's perfect for me. For reference I don't tend to go towards watches in the thousands, so my best watches are this, the Prospex Alpinist, and the 42 hamilton murph. I had a little buyer's remorse for the other two despite loving them, but not the prx.
I think if they removed the ticking seconds hand then it'd be way better. I don't mind quartz, I have the quartz large cartier tank, but the ticking seconds hand on quartz obviously drives me crazy like many others.
if tissot made it in solid 18ct gold and sold it "at cost" (I.e. the extra cost for making it in gold rather than steel), I'd buy it. When it comes to watches these days, I want to think that the watch might last forever. My experience with gold plated is that it wears and corrodes/patina spots over time. As such, I dont add "plated" items to my collection anymore (except DLC!)
It would be cool to buy a gold watch at cost. Unfortunately every brand I know sells the watch for WAY more than the weight of the gold and the rest of the components. By a lot
If you're willing to buy a PRX for $500+ in search of a VC-222 experience than you should have bought a SPECHTE & SOHNE VC-222 for $90. I was shocked at this S & S Gold model compared to a Gold PRX.
Bruce do you think the powermatic movement and the green waffle dial would fit seamlessly into the case of the gold model? I'm thinking about buying both to make my fantasy Tissot.
I love the 222. This doesn't reach the high standards that the VC piece reach but feels like more than a decent way to scratch that itch and everybody knows that the PRXs are great watches in a vacuum.
Looks awesome on you. I also think this would look badass with a black dial. Waiting for Tissot to listen to many commenters and release the PRX in 37 or 38mm.

I can't understand why a beautiful watch in this category is coloured gold with pvd coating and why they don't use gold tone stainless steel instead! Could someone who is knowledgeable on the subject explain the reasons behind this? Personally, I would buy it much sooner if I knew it was stainless steel gold tone, because of possible scratches.
Perhaps you can clear up to what extent PVD is an improvement on gold plating. One of the main things keeping me from going gold in general is the fact that on my one gold plated watch, the gold plating visibly wears off, which happened within a few years of regular wear and this does detract from the enjoyment of its aesthetic. Not all gold plating is equal and I don't know how good the quality is on my Frederique Constant. Now I see references to PVD for blacks and golds but I do not understand the difference, if any, well.
It’s a very beautiful watch. It’s comes is automatic as well. And FYI the gold color will come off after few months of sweating. So the SS it might be a better choice.
I have a golden Tissot PRS 200. Now, can anyone answer that how long it takes for the polishing to start showing wear and tear incase an individual wears his watch regularly? The Tissot service center guys told me that the golden polish can’t be done again so once it’s gone, it’s gone forever but it takes time. So, I’m wondering how much time?
one loses 100 dollars max if to be sold which i doubt and the other will lose 20k used considering its not the most popular VC model which is the overseas line while they both serve same purpose
The only thing that scares me about getting a fully gold toned watch is that it will look really cheap/fake, ”wanna-be” rich. Since people Will probably think it’s a cheap fake gold whatever watch 😤
It doesn't look cheap at all. It's a real stunner. I get plenty of compliments. The pvd coating is also quite resilient. No problems with scratches or scuffing.
