I bought a 35mm and exchanged it 2 days later for a 40mm. I have a small wrist (6.5 in / 16cm), which encouraged the 35. But on my hand it looked dainty. If I were looking for a dainty, elegant watch, the 35 would be great. But the 40 looks like I’m rocking a nice, gold watch. Even with my small wrist, it does not look too big. It does look a bit flamboyant, but that’s why I wanted this all gold (toned) watch. It comes down to what you are looking for.
@@akinciyildiz8405 If you are looking for a dainty, elegant watch, then you might prefer the 35mm. If you want something that looks a bit flamboyant and flashy then you will want the 40mm.
The original PRX from 1978 was 35mm. I don’t feel like it’s too small for a man, I have 7.25” wrists for reference. I think the watch industry went full stupid when they were making everything the size of an Invicta. These days everyone thinks watches should be larger than they probably should be. Just my 2 cents
@@travisogden9426 there is an auto one at 35, bi-metal with diamonds so design sucks however they have proven it fits so they are just playing with us. I’m sure they will keep the quarts if they also add an auto
To me, the 35 is perfect size. Wears like a 36/37. It's a more versatile size. I had the 40mm version and it just felt like a slim G-Shock! It's a dinner plate on my 6.5" wrist. Also waiting for the Powermatic version for the 35mm. 35 was the original size from the 70's when it first came out. 👍
But it’s 2023, 50 years passed since 70s and such small watches are no longer looking good on men, they are considered feminine now. 38 is absolute minimum for men these days.
Just sold my Powermatic 40mm. I have quite large wrists but it was just too big imo. Tried the 35mm a couple times and I'm not sold as it is really tiny even though I prefer it I think. a 37-38mm (auto) would be an instant buy for me and a life-time main watch. Love the design so much, but it's gotta be a good fit otherwise there is no pleasure in wearing it.
They are definitely two different vibes. Like you said the 35 is a sporty dress watch. The 40 is more of the typical 70s sports watch. I really like both and could see having both in a collection. Hopefully they do come out with a middle 37mm option that could play dressy and sporty better instead of leaning much more into one.
I bought both sizes in gold online to see which one I liked better. Spent some time with them. Asked my wife’s opinion. Took pictures. Before long it was clear. The 35 was too small, and the 40 was too big. I ended up sending the 35 back, and keeping the 40.
I already own the Gentleman Powermatic 80 Silicium model, so for me, one of these movements in my collection is sufficient. It's not mentioned enough in reviews of the Tissot models with the PM 80 that these movements are laser regulated at the time of manufacture, and cannot be serviced by a watchmaker. This means that any watch with this movement will have to be sent to Tissot directly, where an entirely new movement will likely be the fix. I think Tissot would be better served using a traditional ETA 2824-2 movement in place of the PM 80. The power reserve is largely hyped, as by the time day 3 of wearing comes along, accuracy falls off due to the movement reaching the end of its reserve. In a certain sense the PM 80 movement is akin to the Sistem 51 in that both are essentially designed to be disposable. If Tissot would utilize solar quartz technology with the PRX, that would probably be optimal.
I wish they just split the difference and did a 38. I think 38 is a sweet spot for almost everybody. Tudor also does 41/36 on the smooth bezel black bay. Why??
A very good analysis of a sticky problem for most of those interested in a PRX. 40mm in this design is a little too large for me, but I do like the style and would jump at a 37-38 mm option.
The 35 looks perfect on your wrist. The 40 wears very large. I view the 35 as a dress watch and the 40 as a sports watch. My favorite watches are my 36mm Explorer and my 36mm OP. I may try on a 35 and see if it lives up to the hype in person.
Sorry but 35-36 is feminine size these days, we are no longer in 70s bro, men wear slightly larger watches than they used to 50 years ago. 40mm are definitely better on him, 35 looks so tiny…

My wrist is exactly 6" and I am 5'6". Which size should I get in both the PRX and the Everytime? I want to get both of those watches but am not sure what size to get. I want the gold since it goes with my warm skin tone. Gold tends to be overly blingy so keeping it minimal is key. But minimal can be too dainty or feminine too though so there is a fine line to walk when sizing the jewelry item. That includes watches.
The light blue dial automatic version Tissot has just released is absolute fire, I already have the green but god it makes me want to buy another haha. Absolute grand slam of a release from Tissot, it put almost every watch between 500 and 2000 dollars in the dirt.
I’ve owned both sizes in blue dials. Ultimately I prefer the 35mm, but sold both. The 40 is too big and the 35 is just a tad too small. I did prefer the 35’s bracelet significantly more. The links are smaller and the taper is better. The smaller links allows a little more precise fit. With the 40, i couldn’t get a just right fit. It was either a touch too tight or too loose.

@@Isthare About 6.5”. The 40mm isn’t too big in the traditional way. It was too big as in it felt like i was wearing a cuff, instead of a watch. It takes up a lot of real estate, like it’s wider than it needs to be on 75% of the bracelet.
I've seen some reviews on the gold and I'm a little confused, is it a light and elegant gold or is it more of a gold with dark yellow tones? The light in the videos sometimes causes confusion and I prefer the recommendation of someone who has seen it in person.
You’re right, with the integrated bracelet design a 37.5mm diameter would give an effectively lug-to-lug of 47mm-ish, which would be a sweet spot for many. A two-hander no-date quartz PRX would be very interesting…
I have the 40 and i really enjoy it. I think a 37-38 would be perfection! The proportions look a little off on the 40. After seeing the smaller version it seems like it looks more natural.
I’m in agreement with you, a 37 or 38mm would be perfect. I don’t mind either quartz or automatic, that won’t be the deciding factor for me. I would hope that they use the vertically brushed dial that they use on the 40mm quartz models as opposed to the sunburst dials that they used on the 35mm. If they can pull that off, It would be a slam dunk purchase for me.
yeah, same wrist size and you sold me on the 40mm. 37mm would be perfect as my actual prefered watch is a seiko 5 with 37mm that fits perfectly for my taste
I really love the size of the 35mm. I have about a 7 inch wrist and I think the 40mm is like a pizza box on my wrist. The light blue dial is straight class and I’m probably gonna get that at some point.
The 35mm just look too small on a big man. If it was 37mm or 37mm it will look amazing in any wrist. That’s why I go with the seiko snkk52 gold which is a 38mm.
I considered the 35mm PRX at my local jeweller's, but.... the watch head may wear as a 36/37mm watch (thanks to the male end links), the dial is VERY small and the petite hands make it look as if the proportions are not quite the ticket. So I ended up buying a quartz one (mint green) on a bracelet and a Powermatic (blue wafer, very subtle) on a strap, both in 39.5mm. But 35mm? Nah.....
I really like the PRX for the style and finishing. I think offering a watch with premium details in something as accessible as the PRX quartz is brilliant and may serve as a lure for the industry. That said, I think I'm a little Genta'd out right now. I had my eyes on a gold 40mm but would rather a half step between the available sizes, also as you mentioned. Only dig I have is they completely missed the boat by not having a broad range of strap options early on if they were going to bother with quick release spring bars. A third party certainly shouldn't have scooped them on a rubber strap offering for that matter.
The best size for this is clearly 37-38... 35 is the vintage size but watches have evolved so I figure that to find the middle ground is the way forward. 35-36 for field and dress watches.. 38-40 is best for diver/chronograph and for integrated bracelet is 37-38.
I haven't tried the 35 on, though I fear I will feel it's a bit small for my 7.25" wrist. The 40 works well though. If I hadn't just made a huge watch purchase last month, I'd have picked up the new ice blue PRX Powermatic by now. Nothing quite grabbed me enough to want to buy until I saw that one. I still want one, but need to wait a bit before I buy another watch. That gold one is coo, but I don't know how well I could pull that off. I think I might have to get the gold in 35mm just to not be too showy. I have an Autodromo Group B at 39mm diameter (and ~9mm thick). It wears really well, so I can understand why people would want something more in between the 40 and 35.
It's all preference, I have a 6.5-6.75 inch wrist and 36mm datejust felt too small for me, even the bb58 which is a 39mm felt a little too small for me. 40 41mm are the perfect size for me.

35 mm is for ladys, period. Is waaay too small. 40mm is what you need, less than that is too small
35 too small for a Man
Tell that to Rolex. Even the Datejust is slightly smaller than the stated 36mm size.
@@JaxWatchesandEDC yes, theres a reason they made 40mm President day date
@@williamstalvey6920nah Morden sucks, traditional smaller watches will always be supreme
@@resentfulglacier6540 if you are a Woman yes, I agree
35 for women, 40 for men. Simple
Be a real man - get the 40mm, no question. 35mm for a woman.
Seems strange that they went 35mm rather than 36-38mm
I JUST saw that they came out with a 35mm... So stoked about that, just need to keep my eyes open for a color way I MUST have. Great video!
You see that mother of pearl white dial in 35mm?
@@Mwingreen Oh! Yeah, that looks great!
I think even the 40mm is small.
