Watching this type of videos really breaks my heart, I can't understand how gems like this are left in those conditions, Brands that no longer exists, how I wish I could do something to save evey one of them
What’s always fascinated me about the rusty junk yards like this is that every vehicle there has a story. Maybe that tow truck rescued your grandfather from the side of the road once when his old dodge broke down; or that station wagon that once took your parents on beach trips when they fell in love and got married; or that car your favorite aunt who passed in the early 80s got for her 18th birthday. They all have a chapter in someone’s life. It’s just pieces of us scattered about and forgotten.
I was thinking similar! Each car is a fusion of engineering and Art. A talented artist sketched and teams sculpted every one of those vehicles, inside and out. A huge room full of Draftsmen standing at their Drawing boards documenting parts and assemblies. Sheet metal Die-makers puzzling over how the panel can be formed. Passionate debates in smokey Boardrooms in the 70's discussing which layout of the Headlights will maximise sales. Accountants shaking their heads at suggestions of more chrome or trifles like seat belts.
Well you are looking at a snap shot in time of what cars you would have seen in the area at certain times in history, who knows how many times those cars passed each other on the road, and somewhere in someone's photo album could be a picture of one of those cars.
Jennings Motorsports is an excellent channel. Like NNKH he gets right down to business with no fluff and his natural ability and sense of humor (also like NNKH) are what we wrenchers really relate to. 👍🏽. Great video as always Chris!
I grew up in Indian Mills NJ.... the school bus at 11:41 is my school bus from when I was a little kid (Mid- 1970s). Mrs. Brown drove that bus for many years, and I rode it for many years. The bus is Meredith Bus Services, Number M122....It should be an International Harvester.... my dad worked for them too and drove M119.... That really took me back.... Cool it still exist, sad that it's going to be crushed.... bought back lots of memories.
My uncle had a junkyard like this when i was a kid! late 70s to 80s! Had all kinds of similar vehicles in his too! Like a time capsule to walk through!
Brought back memories of when a person could look at a car from a distance and know what make and model it is, just by the body design and placement of the head and taillights.
When I moved to TN and into the country I was getting eat up with ticks and chiggers. An old farmer told me to just spray my shoes, socks and pant legs up a little higher than the weeds I was walking in and it keeps them off. Worked great. I keep a can of OFF in the door of my truck and in my shop. Saves a lot of itching and aggravation.
OFF is the WD-40 of lubricants. Permithrin if you actually want to keep ticks and chiggers from getting you. PB Blaster and Kroil if you need a good penetrating fluid.
As a kid in the 1960s I went on dog trading trips with my dad. Many of his hunting buddies had garages and junkyards. I used to pester him asking what kind of car something was. I just knew one was different than another. Being 6 years old and having an empty and growing brain I learned and remember everything. Still have that knowledge to this day. Few people care, but I do. If I were to win the lottery, I would buy a huge warehouse, hire the best restoration people and rescue as many as I could afford.
A criminal waste in my eyes hope some get saved on at least and those ticks had me itching my legs something fierce, thanks for the walk and show Chris. Four of the best RUclips channels out there.
you definitely are the most pragmatic and knowledgeable mechanic I've seen... i wish i was that good at making these vehicles run and road worthy and the least expensive way in most cases... you are the no nonsense know-how man! 👌
Used to have two yards like that in town growing up... lived there in the eighties. I miss places like that. Tons of good parts for low bucks, important when you're a young kid with limited funds!!
The little car at beginning you assumed was From Europe was actually a crosley which is made in America by an appliance builder named crosley. And they are so small because it had to fit through the doors of his appliance store.
Crosley made lots of radios also. My dad had one of the farm-o-road vehicles. Looked kind of like a small jeep. It was road legal, and you could use it as a small farm tractor.
It looks like a 48 Crosley. The '50 to '52 were a slightly different body style. Crosley made refrigerators and radios also. A buddy who had one told me they sold them through the Montgomery Ward catalog, and shipped in a crate.
$185,000 for all that scrap? Absolutely insane. He's going to end up crushing it all for $250 a ton. The pick n pull around me also thinks their junk is worth solid gold - wanted $150 for a non-powered mirror off a 2006 uplander.
@@MattsRageFitGarage Still, you aint going to find rare gems unless you climb through some dirt & rust. Seems like a lot of those cars head lights, grills, & bumpers could get cut off as a whole & welded onto a swing gate property entrance for a lot of rural people with properties like this one. There's a yard I drive past every day with all kinds of cool stuff in it. Apparently the owner has a bad attitude and will run anyone off who stops by and asks about buying stuff. I don't get that at all - he probably believes all his rusted to hell Cornbinders and 70s vans and old school buses are worth millions.
Lots of mustangs lot of T-Birds. Old 65 through 67 Ford galaxies lot of stuff. Saw what appeared to be a 58 T-Bird. Trucks like you never see anymore. Need to be bought sandblasted, loaded old parts. It's a steal for somebody.
I know this place, Albion Auto Parts. I've gotten parts for a couple of my old mopars there, its been more than 20 years ago. I knew it as soon as I saw the S&S tow truck within the first 2 minutes of the video . Great guys there, motorcycle enthusiasts. Place looks a lot more grown over than I remember. They used to make you pay a dollar and sign in on a sheet to get in. Wow, a nephew of mine used to drive for Phil who owned the tow truck company. Good place to go to find hard to find stuff
Thats Albion? I dont really remember that much old iron in there or it being that big. There used to be another interesting one around the corner. Craigs Fuel Oil, had alot of old hemis a few ford HT convertibles.
And yes, I remember seeing like 55 is 56 is Ford sunliners and things like that in there now you mention it I also remember all the old hemis in the desoto's and Dodgers there. Yes I remember it being a fuel oil guy or some kind of fuel place
Dear Mr. Chris. 👍👌👏 Yeah, you're absolutely right. Almost everything is too far gone or too parted out already. Thanks a lot for showing us around and for sharing. Best regards, luck and health in particular.

Thanks for the nostalgic tour of these beauties; as others have stated, the small car near the beginning is a Crosley, built narrow to fit thru doors at hardware stores, where they were originally sold. Model CC, as someone has pointed out...The later engines, the CIBA (Cast Iron Block Assy.) replaced the CoBra engine, and later became the basis for a line of outboard motors (Fageol "44", Crofton, Homelite, and finally Fisher-Pierce)... Indeed, "Jennings" would have a ball here! "We've got a nineteen-something so-and-so; this ol' girl's been sittin' (40, 50, 60, 80) years..." And he'd have most-all of 'em running by the end of the video!

I just bought a few cars out of here a few weeks ago, the prices are very high for the cars being so far gone. You would never see this place because of it being hidden. Was a neat place in the day. Happy junkin.

Use Permethrin on your clothing to repel ticks, stuff works great! Mr. Jennings would love to get his hands on some of these wrecks...thanks for the tour.

Each car has its own story. A lot of history in that yard.

Get here before the dems./commies shut them all down and start calling them the forbidden lands

Quite true.
Just to think at some stage all these cars were brand new and shiny in a showroom and someone drove out full of pride
Thats what I always think of when I see the scrap yards.

Yup. Ugga dugga is my newest favorite word, thanks to Dustin Jennings. He's been quiet lately. Hope he puts out more content soon.
