Will people laugh if I put Roval Alpinist into Trek Emonda SL6? Also really curious to know the performance different between Roval Alpinist and Bontrager Aeolus RSL 37.
Not yet, hope too. If any come into stock, I'd really be tempted to buy a set. All the carbon Bontrager wheels I have owner I have been impressed with. The new RSL seems to be choice!
Quite light until you have to add on 100gram rotors on each one making the set as heavy as any rim wheelset you can get for a few hundred quite. Why don't they build in the disc rotor into the rim surface that is already there only adding a few grams and giving a larger 622mm disc rotor size. I am sure this is what specialized will come up with next in there marketing spiel. Save the rim brake

Are these Hubs more like DTswiss 180? With ceramic bearings?
Also what is the engagement number?
Sweet Wheels 🙌🏼🤘🏼
Nice wheels cool how DT Swiss built ratchet in wheel. I like that new star ratchet how it’s cut out for spring to sit in.
Not a bad price for a solid wheel set but I personally wouldn’t buy a non tubeless ready wheel anymore. I tried tubeless and am a convert...
James, have you had a chance to check out Treks new Bontrager RSL wheels? They are sweet!!! 👍 3 depths for your riding style as well.

@@Jamesthebikeguy I'm happy with the Pro 3V On my Checkpoint. But yes, new RSL look great 👍
Can you increase to the 54t with the built in ratchet?
What is the widest tire per their spec that you can use? Thanks!
Does the rear wheel come with a XDR hub for Sram AXS 12-speed?
What range of tyre size fits those 21mm internals?
Hi what’s the widest tire u can put on theses? Looking at 45mm or is it better to go for a wider rim for them ?
You want a wider rim
@@Jamesthebikeguy hi thank you what’s the next lightest option terra clx?
Are these clinchers?
yes
Al-pine-ist... Not alpenist lol
A for effort tho and a good chuckle 🤭
I see others have got a laugh too 😆
Would rather have a wheel that can be used tubeless
I agree (My road wheels are tubeless as well) but I think the weight conscious rider would choose tubed for that very reason anyway.
@@Jamesthebikeguy yeah I like options but I'm not going to be breaking any records, neither can I afford such a fancy wheelset lol.
Alpinist or Rapide?
Depends what you value.
alpinist? nah bro, in this house we pronounce it alPENISt
On this channel, expect a 12yo presentation level.
It’s pronounced Alp-in-ist. As in The Alps, because they’re climbing wheels.
For clarity Alpinist is a mountain climber specializing in high, difficult ascents In the world. (Look it up 😉)
Alpenist lol
Proof any jamoke can pickup a camera and start talking!
Loll was that pronounced on purpose James?
I figured it’s Al Pin Ist. Not that it matters. Gosh I want these.. They’re made for climbing mainly?
