For the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to get the filter out of the case and this was the ONLY video that demonstrated that before I lost my 💩 😅 THANK YOU!!
Same as others, I could not figure out how to get that filter out of the case. I waited in anticipation hoping you would show how it was done. And you delivered. Thank you so much.
There are a few lenses out there that have designed their hoods around having filters like the Sony 70-200 but most lens you won’t be able to use the hood if there’s a filter installed
I wish the stops were able to be turned off.. The haptic feedback not a fan of I like smooth for transitioning from an outdoor scene to indoor without changing aperture
@@KyleWattsTV Thanks for your reply. Does it work reverse way i.e. step down? If I buy for 82 mm will it work for 77 mm? Out of curiosity question - Why would PolarPro create these step up rings given that they sell filters for each sizes individually? Will there be any difference?
@@sapiannitin the idea is that you only wanna buy one ND filter so for me I have an 82 mm filter which is the biggest lens I have and I have adapters so they can fit my smaller thread lenses. That way you don’t need to buy multiple nd filters.
Is it a bad idea to get the edition 1 (since they are cheaper now)? I know they made external changes, but is the quality of the actual results of photos and videos the same for both edition 1 and 2? That’s all I care about, please help!
The glass is the exact same. The only changes is the haptic feedback and the defender 360 case. The case on the new one I like a lot better but depends on how Much you wanna spend more to get that one.
Kyle Watts I got both 2-5 and 6-9 edition 1 for 305$ on eBay… sounds like it was a good deal but still new to these Nd filters, but as long as picture quality is the same I’m excited
@@41vids that’s a pretty good deal. I kinda like the edition 1 better without the haptic feedback. It’s just a bit smoother for changing while filming.
Well this one in the video isn’t the most edition but the one you’re talking about will always be at least 2 stops down at it’s minimum. I believe you can get just the most filters from places like moment shop
Great video! And great channel, you deserve wayyy more views. Just got the edition 2 myself, pretty disappointed aswel on the packaging, first edition seemed so premium.
@@KyleWattsTV also looking forward to the signature vs mist if you end up getting one, I haven’t been able to find a good comparison between those. We are trying to figure out which one we want
@@KyleWattsTV Just got one for my 24-70mm GM. I have the NiSi for my 24mm GM. It is also good but I like the PolarPro more :-) The fact that there is a hood is just super sweet! :-)
@@KyleWattsTV That’s good to know! I’ve talked with some other friends who shoot a lot and they swear by they filters. I tried some cheaper options, and honestly wasn’t happy, so I but the bullet and got the PolarPro. Now I have to shoot a lot outdoors so it pays for itself. 😂
Man would you look at that....we both started off with the K&F Concept too. I thought maybe you used that when you told me you had green cast problems lol 😂 Like you said still a good starter ND (till I get budget for it ya.....or my full-time one now).....I want the mist just makes lights look so cool. It does look like a hockey puck.
I’m gonna pick up the 6-9 one soon. Also I might pick up the cinebloom moment filter which isn’t an ND filter. I just feel I’d like the diffused filter better in low light situations
@@KyleWattsTV 6-9 is like a must for outside and keeping it under f4 for sure. My buddy has the moment and I want it as well. Love the mist look of the lights in the studio setting. Just looks cool.

Right!? I felt like an idiot that I couldn’t figure it out until after watching this video. 😂
I couldn't figure it out either...
Peel it off how???
they made it so hard to open the darn thing until I watched your video. thanks bro

I enjoyed the beginning of the video very funny
Thanks Jeffery!
Is there a way to stack filters with the PMVND - Edition II? Like a polarizer for glare/reflections
Can you use a lens hood with this?
There are a few lenses out there that have designed their hoods around having filters like the Sony 70-200 but most lens you won’t be able to use the hood if there’s a filter installed
is filter still good with the 10-18mm lens?
I’ve never used that lens so I can’t really say.
I wish the stops were able to be turned off.. The haptic feedback not a fan of I like smooth for transitioning from an outdoor scene to indoor without changing aperture
I hear ya. The original version didn’t have them and for video I did kind of like that
@@KyleWattsTV If they could come up with a way to disable it kind of like they do on the Sony lenses that would be great
where do you find the size rings
found them nvm
What's the recommended step up ring?
Personally I went with the polar pro one because it has grippy sides on the ring maligning it easier to remove.

Yay !
how do you do that?

can you have these filters on and just use it for the mist filter or in the least you'll always have it two stops down?

At least the filter itself isn’t disappointing
Not gonna lie…very underwhelming for a $250 product. That being said, just gonna throw box out anyway, but that’s not a good first impression.
I have a 35mm 1.4fe GM what would you recommend or the new ones that are VND/PL
Both are great, if you need the polarizer specifically then go with the new one. It is a handy tool to have when you need it
Great review def getting these NDs! Looking forward to catching up on some of your videos new sub here

“Peel off the lens cap” I can’t get it off wth
Trying to decide if it’s worth $250. I don’t use ND filters that much, so it seems overkill, that being said…it’s a well made filter!
I use mine every time I’m outside, so for me the $250 was worth it
