Is it a bad idea to get the edition 1 (since they are cheaper now)? I know they made external changes, but is the quality of the actual results of photos and videos the same for both edition 1 and 2? That’s all I care about, please help!

Some of the samples at the end seemed to have a crop on them when you added fillter.
That may have been an illusion or a shift in the tripod position, but the filters don't affect crop at all👍
I have two lenses (67mm/77mm), if I use a 77mm VND with a step up ring on the 67mm lens will that cause any issue on the footage? thx
Nope, that's exactly what you want to do! You always want to get filters for your largest lens, then use step up rings for your other lenses👍
@@DavidManningvlog any rec on a step-up ring? If I invest that much money in an ND filter, the step-up ring should deliver across all my lenses
i really like my mist edition but i think im still gonna buy either the black pro mist or black magic because its great for weddings, but not for receptions at weddings.

@@creativegreats5204 i don’t want to have to crank my iso way up during the receptions but i still wanna have the pro mist look to it so that’s why i got a 1/8 pro mist for the receptions and i use this mist II edition during outside portions of the wedding
I got the signature edition one and a mist filter seperate. So I can add the mist when I want it. I recommend doing this so you can use the nd without mist
Should we use the 2-5 or 6-9? Is there actually a need for both?
It’s really just how bright of conditions you’re in and how you’re filming. If you’re in a standard profile or something like S-Cinetone on a Sony and you want to be wide open at f/2.8 you can probably get away with the 2-5 at ISO 100. BUT, if you’re shooting in a log profile like SLOG3, then your base native ISO is 640, which means that you’ll probably need more ND and move to the 6-9. So it’s really just based on how much light you’re trying to reduce for what scenario you’re in👍

every time I shoot with a mist filter, I always think if I should of never used it at all.
I just bought a 1/2 black mist from another company haven’t used it yet and now you have me thinking I should have gone weaker. 🤔
Give it a shot and let me know what you think! Obviously there’s no set standard, so different companies ratings are going to be different, but usually 1/2 is a pretty strong mist
I'm tempted to try one of these super expensive ND filters. I think I'd go without the mist for the stuff I do. "mind the step children" 😂

Hi! I'm planning to buy the signature but I dont know if 2-5 or 6-9 stops for slog3. Any advice?
Regular work requires 2-5 and long exposure or highly lit areas are for 6-9
I think I like it better without the mist filter! It’s super subtle, but I like the sharp edges of buildings and detail that get lost when you put on the mist.

Digital sharpening makes concrete look glittery. It's really annoying. I usually have to turn off the sharpness in the camera.

It’s a tool that gives a specific look, but I think it looks great on everything!

U didn’t compare mist with signature. Only mist and without. I’m trying to decide if I want signature or mist and this didn’t help…..
Because Signature is the same as without. There's no additional effect beyond a reduction of light👍
@@DavidManningvlog ty I’m so new to all this. So the regular VND’s are mainly just to prevent you from adjusting iso, SS and aperture? So it’s adding in another option to add to and take away lighting?
