Every single person involved in this botched case should feel embarrassed and ashamed. What utter failures.
Thing is, I don't think this was botched. This reeks of CORRUPTION. This dude's family got strings.
They need to have an independent outside agency investigate any relationship between the criminal, the criminal's family, the sheriffs, the medical examiner's office, and the lawyers.

In Florida, families ALWAYS have a right to have an autopsy done on a loved one if they are willing to pay for it. A private autopsy here is about 6 thousand dollars. Worth every penny if it answers their questions.
This was so *obviously* a cover-up. The phrase "Well, she's dead." said by that sorry excuse for a police officer shows the attitude of all law enforcement involved in Chanda's murder. How sickening. And he left her there to bleed to death on the stairs outside. This case is atrocious all around. My mind is spinning with anger and my heart aches for the poor family and friends of the victim 😞💔

Especially women. Statistically, women rarely kill themselves via gun shot. So that's a bit odd in itself.
While I believe this was not a suicide, women are more likely to use drugs or wrists or hanging, rather then guns. But if a woman shoots herself, they do tend to shoot themselves in the chest or torso. They want to leave they're face unmarked.

Sadly, that probably won't happen. I live in Oklahoma, and it seems every pd in the state is corrupt as hell. I knew a guy who was killed by his step-dad while trying to protect his mom and sister. Scumfuck step-dad was friends with alot of cops, though, so even though there were about six witnesses telling them what happened they said it was self defense.

I never realized how much I appreciate this particular interviewer until I watched another episode of True Crime Daily with a different interviewer. It's like night and day. This interviewer asks good questions in a respectful manner and really seems to care about each case.

And in Oklahoma the laws need to be changed. I met a woman whose artistic 20 some yr. old son was arrested for parking tickets. They threw him in jail & this woman was raising several of her grandchildren. She worked 2 jobs & did not have extra money to get him out. In order for him to be released the parking tickets had to be paid & these tickets added up bc they went back as far as 10 yrs. They added late fees, court costs, etc. She stated the money owed was well over $8000. Insanity!!!!
S H-S, When Ortiz was shot in the D.R., the shooter was beaten by the crowd, until police could get there and cart him away to the hospital. Unfortunately, in this country, that would land you in prison for 20 years.

I’m very surprised the funeral home didn’t recommend for them to have private autopsy. I’m a funeral director and when a family is leaning in that direction I give them the resources. This is unbelievable....

Yep a case within my family was dealt with poorly bc the coroner, was quote from attorney "a wh*re for the state" and had lied many many times in many cases. Still a coroner as far as I know. 🤨
Luckily due to lack of evidence (no evidence) they were forced to change the false claims on death cert. Bc the judge wasn't having it.

@S Barger Many historians say the word hillbillies actually was an Irish term. It labelled many of the poor folk who lived in the hills, getting by on what they could. Many of those people were Scots and Irish immigrants.
But now, Hillbillie is often thought to refer to white Americans of English decent or something. When really, it's supposed to be used now as a white American who lives in the hills. History of immigration isn't really of consideration these days.
Still, I don't know if Hillbillies would really apply here. It's more of a case of corruption than it is incompetence. At least, thats they way it sounds like to me.

Actually, the rates of murder have gone down (thankfully) in the US. We just think it's higher b/c of social media.
Project KJ it's gone down by a slim margin at best. To be exact 0.9% and that's after it rising drastically for two years in a row! So basically it's still just as awful as it was. Less than rates compared to in the 90's, but nevertheless it is still extremely high. I just did an epidemiological and geographicical research course on our crimes and criminal justice system: i.e.: crime rates included.

I am so angry right now over the blatant mishandling of Chanda's case by the police that my blood is boiling. Her poor parents suffering for so long! Corruption and cover-up. Those involved should be arrested and dealt with like right now! And how dare anyone question why the parents would keep fighting for years to learn the truth. Deepest sympathy to them, and rest in peace sweet Chanda. 🙏
The boyfriend is definitely the murderer and his family know more than they are ready to admit . They should all be jailed . The Sheriff's department also seems to be involved . Perhaps the officers accepted a bribe ?

Haven’t even finished this and I can even tell this was a cover up, my god it took nine years and it seemed like one cop tried to their job and that was the cop who dropped off the information.
This whole thing makes me disappointed to think we pay for taxes for people to do their jobs and this is what these people get which is nothing more then three ring cluster f*ck circus.
All I can hope is they sued the department and everyone else in this mess.
