I watched this video with my little brother, who is an avid Skylanders player and Spyro is his favorite to play. He doesn't know too much about the other Spyros, but has watched me play the original trilogy multiple times and has watched me play parts of the last game of the Legend series. Simply put, we are both mind-blown and I'm hoping something comes about from this video being made. now I just need to make my dad sit down and watch this, as he is the reason I started playing Spyro and always helped me with OG Spyro, A New Beginning, and helps my little brother with Skylanders now. I'm sure he will be excited to see this theory connecting all of the games together. Thanks for giving my family something to bond over!! lol
How is it spyro the game is coming back it possible in history page I look the time it unknown history I keep looking but no answer it a mistory page of history remains 2018 but sounds like 2022 it unknown page.
@Chapin Taylor and @ComputeTHIS Yes!! Loved all the games you mentioned. I grew up with Legends and the first two Skylanders games were the most solid. I still have my fully maxed-out Spyro and Cynder figurines for Skylanders!
As growing up with OG Spyro and playing the games after it, including The Legend of Spyro as well Skylanders with Spyro's Adventure, I do have to say that this idea of all three Spyros existing in one Timeline~ I have to agree fully with this one. Reasons being of how the prophecy of how each Purple Dragon is born every 1000 years just seems too logical to pass up. Also each Purple Dragon is given the same name title, "Spyro". The facts are in the pudding, and you bringing it together just made it sound pretty real I will say.
Miss Lady Shana don’t be a buzzkill. He lost the name when he gave up his soul under the control of the dark ether. Hot take: Malefor = OG Spyro’s true fate
Another thing to take into consideration... In Spyro: The Eternal Night, Crash Bandicoot can be seen frozen in the ice in the first area of the Celestial Caves...
and he appeared in skylanders academy and none seem to remember even meeting befored, so that proves that a.- one is non canon (both really) and b.- that most of the spin off are just that, spin offs
I'm fully on board with this theory and the game order you suggested. Spyro and Cynder becoming a sort of Link and Zelda, reincarnating across time in new forms and places. Another thing I've noticed is Cynder from Dawn of the Dragon onwards changes colour from black to dark purple, almost like she's getting some influence from Spyro during their bond.
Awh thanks!! I have another theory in the works, but with all the spyro news (and reviews) it’s been hard to get onto!! But I gotta make sure I get it just right :)
I posted this as a standalone comment, but in case it gets buried, I'll post it here. This theory is fun....but it doesn't hold up in deeper analysis, especially in regards to Skylanders lore. "This video is fun but this theory has many flaws in it that make it wrong. I think Canadian guy eh focused too much on Spyro lore but ignored Skylanders lore, which flat out contradicts a key part of this theory. Nothing against Canadian Guy though! So for starters, numerous purple dragons other than Spyro exist in OG Spyro continuity, seen in both the original trilogy, reignited trilogy and Shadow legacy. This kills off the purple dragon prophecy as existing in OG Spyro continuity. You then have the creator of the Skylander comic with Malefor confirm that the Skylander Malefor *is not* the Legends of Spyro Malefor in a Q&A. The biggest flaw in this theory is that Skylanders Imaginators irrefutably kills this theory regarding the creation of Skylands. It is confirmed in Imaginators that the Skylands and its life was created by mind magic by the Ancients, a race a giant brain tentacle creatures. NOT a cataclysm caused by Malefor, as we see in Legend continuity. The last ancient is a key character in the game plot and confirms this backstory. There are other flaws in this theory, such as purple dragons being immune to dark energy in OG Spyro(as pointed out by this video) YET Legends and Skykanders has purple dragons being *vulnerable* to dark energy. Or how OG Spyro only is able to learn other breaths through magic from Bianca or Faeries. In other words, he can't learn different breaths naturally like Legend and Skyland Spyro can. Canadian Guy Eh says having 3 different continuities feels like a cop-out....but that's not a lore arguement, that his personal preference. It's no more a cop out than Crash having two continuities now. I'm not trying to be to too critical on Canadian Guy, it's a fun theory....it just doesn't hold up in deeper analysis."
+Cinema Comix that's what I was going for!! I might make a part 2 to clear up other aspects I did not get to (because other wise the video would have been longer, I like capping it at 15 minutes) Like how hunter fits into this, how Malefor recognizes spyro in the skylander series but Spyro does not know him, how the dark gems from a hero's tail ties in to the darkness etc etc
I was avoiding this video the few times it got recommended to me because I thought I wouldn't enjoy it and it wouldn't make enough sense for me to believe, but this fits very well and now I really want to replay all of these games.
There's a difference between dimensions and universes: Alternate universes are different timelines where things might have a huge difference or a tiny difference. Other dimensions are pretty much 1D (a line) 2D (flat) and 3D. The fourth one could either be some other "directions" or simply time travel.
I noticed another thing that could point towards Spyro and Cynder's souls being linked and being reborn together. When Spyro's sacrificing himself, as it's zooming out, after the burst of energy and before Cynder disappears behind a rock, it looks like Cynder starts glowing just like Spyro, except it starts on her nose. I looked at the individual frames, and it's just a tiny glow for 4 or 5 frames before Cynder disappears behind the rock, but it definitely looks like it's following the shape of Cynder's head, and it is exactly where her head is. There also aren't any other glowing areas at that time, and nothing for it to be reflecting off from Spyro. Anyway, great job on the theory! It makes a lot of sense, and it's obvious you worked really hard on it!
I know this doesn't really matter but "10 generations" shouldn't be equivalent to 1,000 years. It's a silly thing to correct but it's interesting. In most cultures, a generation is 40 years (30 in some Asian countries). In most cases, 10 generations should equal out to 300 or 400 years. Perhaps, in Spyro's world, a generation is 100 years? I'm not sure. =P
Little late in this reply. This is actually an interesting observation. There's multiple contexts for the word "generation." It could speak of a societal timespan or even from parent to child to grandchild and so forth. Given that Ignitus was in the first and second series, it can be assumed that these dragons can live for an absurdly long time, thus making their societal definition of generation even longer.
You mention something happening In the original. Well a heros tale was the first one to have dark crystals, so that could have something to do with it.
That is a good link. In the Legend series, Ignitus stated Spyro (being early in his cycle since the other purple still lived) was created to balance out the evil created by Malafore. So clearly nature is using Spyro to balance out darkness/evil. Those crystals you mentioned could have been what caused nature to start the cycle of Spyro's rebirthing to begin with and since the crystals (I.E. the darkness) never goes away (since they are present in the legend series) then Spyro would need to reincarnate often to serve as a constant balance against the darkness. I'm not well versed in Skylanders since I still hold some resentment for using Spyro as a money grab for their new game, but from what I do understand, they mentioned that darkness and light need each other, so the continued presence of evil and Spyro would make sense.
adam Young so the 1st spyro was born to defeat gnasty gnork, ripto, and red... makes sense because gnasty gnork is in a heros tail... the 2nd spyro was born to defeat cynder and malefore (gnasty gnork, red and the professor dont appear anymore) makes sense... the 3rd spyro is the skylander spyro (i never played it so idk) but we know that the skyland is created after dawn of the dragon so it makes all sense... But why doesnt there is a 4th spyro? Is the world not dark anymore?
Luca :D It cant be instant. The time gap between og and legend spyro is in the centuries as far as we can pice togather. As for skylands spyro we don't know that time gap ether but we can guess its big since no mention of the charaters from the legend series are mentioned baring malafore since hes undead i guess. That and we gota wait for a new game to come out for another spyro. Which, knowing activison is likly to take as long as it took for og spyro to reincarnate but irl this time XD.
if this is true, then something must've happened for all of the technological advances from the OG Era, such as ray guns, generators, and even robots, to vanish from memory. why? well, it's a safe bet that Malefor had something to do with that- his first conquest reverted everything back to a simpler, medieval time. it can happen- i'm sure there's some event in Earth's history to back that up. and that could also mean that Legends Hunter could be the descendant of OG Hunter and Bianca, which would give him incredible rabbit reflexes as we see in the in-game parkour he does. i don't remember other cheetahs in Dawn of the Dragon or OG Hunter doing that.
or: legend hunter and OG hunter are the same hunter. my theory is that spyro also bound his soul with sparx and hunter's or .... he was resurrected by the draconic gods to aid spyro
Spyro was the first game me and my siblings played when we were little. I was just thinking about replaying the reignited trilogy when this video came up and I just wanted to let you know that in spring of last year you saved my life. I was at my lowest of lows and was grasping on at any reason to keep going when I found your video announcing the first trailer for the Spyro reignited trilogy. I had long dreamed of a remastered version but never thought it would happen. If it weren’t for your videos (and RUclips’s mind reading capabilities) I wouldn’t be here today. Thank you form the bottom my my heart, my best to the family ♥️😊
Way late jump in, but im binging on Spyro vids due to my hype for the remaster, and I decided since I never got to play the Legend series id watch a play through so I can get the story until I get the chance to get my hands on a PS2 and copies of the Legend series. Anyway, I was watching a playthrough, and something Ignitus said stood out to me when teaching Spyro to fly. When telling him to clear his mind and that the Ancestors will help him, Ignitus says this. "Just forget everything you ever thought you knew... forget yourself. *_Only through forgetting will you remember what your ancient blood already knows_* " What stood out is "What your ancient blood already knows". It could be taken as Ignitus knowing Spyro has been reincarnated, that all purple dragons are the same soul. He's telling Spyro to reach deep within himself to remember things he knew from long ago, but "Forgot" when he was reborn. I just figured id share something that really stuck out to me. New subscriber, by the way! :)
good vs evil's commented the same thing, here is my reply "hunter is a good question. A issue that would have taken longer to explain (maybe I need to make a part 2 of this video to tie up all the loose ends :p) Sadly, there is not enough info to really answer this question with 100% certainty. But it could be that this hunter (the legend of spyro) is The original hunter's future ancestor. Again, remember how I said that something happened in the original spyro series that preserves his soul forever? Something HUGE had to happen, and I'm sure he would have had help from his friends (hunter included) so that means that the original hunter could be a renowned hero among his clan. So they named him after the great story of hunter, his ancestor. Which happens a lot in history ( see sigurd snake in the eye, the Viking named after his ancestor who apparently fought a giant water serpent)" I think Sparx would either also follow suit or is a coincidence. Not the same person but possibly a future ancestor. But it could also be a coincidence (Though kinda weak)
I thought maybe Hner s not a eronal nam but a name of.... hunters in the clan of cheetah? Maybe whenever a membr of te clan bcomes a hunter for it it becames the name they call him? No the same persn or even no related, just some kind of tribal tradition?
Only other theory is Hunter was reincarnated 1000 years later after original series ends for Legend series to begin where Hunter entered a new soul and body and probably also was reincarnated 1000 years again for Skylanders.
I would actually place the OG Spyro after the New Beginning Spyro, because of the world structure, the OG series has worlds like Dream Weavers where the world is made up of broken up sections of land, but it would also have to be after Skylanders because they rebuilt society on the floating islands, you see Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds are well established societies completely separated from the Dragon Worlds, The fact that the Forgotten worlds have been forgotten for a thousand years means that before that they lived together, dragon magic was important to maintain the portals... I'm not sure what happens to Cynder but maybe since she isn't a purple dragon she isn't necessarily reincarnated as a dragon at all... so perhaps after Skylanders Cynder was reincarnated not as a dragon but a dragonfly, thus explaining why it is that Sparx in OG works as Spryo's health bar, it's Cynder protecting him because their souls are bound together. Just thinking.
Skylanders is its own separate thing. Basically a reboot to Spyro, don’t let them fool you. OG PlayStation Spyro and LOS Spyro are the same Spyro. The LOS trilogy is a prequel series to the original Spyro games.
I would put OG after legend because: A. there's that theory about cynder being reborn as ember to take into account. B. the prophecy was issued about 10 years before malefor was born. and C. cynder could have been reborn elsewhere. spyro and cynder don't have to be reborn in the same place. they have to be reborn at the same time, but for all we know, during OG's lifetime, cynder could be fighting another war against malefor.
Interesting theory! Now....the questions is. Who the heck is the Malefor in skylanders academy? And is this even canon? The comic malefor is much more different than the skylanders academy malefor.. I mean..there he wasnt confirmed to be a rare purple dragon but heck, there he is Cynders dad wtf. Imagine old spyro being the dad and..new spyro being the potential boyfriend....oh gosh.
If you think about it, make for was sealed away in DOTD so you can say that he has that desire when he got out of the crystal in episode 12 it’s clear that the 4 Guardians are in the show do this all can tie together
William I actually figured out something for him, in the avalar level in dawn of the dragon, the leader of hunters clan says that he remembers malefor (OG spyro) when he was younger, so we can probably say that the dawn of the dragon hunter remembers him too. So this would mean that hunter either lives a really long time, or he is just reincarnated with his old memories. And as for sparx, he probably shares a special bond with spyro, kind of like cynder.
I have been a fan of the Spyro the Dragon trilogy for 26 years, and I ALWAYS struggled to appreciate the iterations of a beloved classic. This... this video unlocked my love for the entire universe and timeline of Spyro. I no longer feel held captive by my nostalgia. Thank you for releasing me.
This is interesting but there are 2 problems. 1) The Giants: It is known that the Giants were already Skylanders 10,000 years ago, long before the times of any of the Spyros. But according to this theory, Skylands was only formed 1000 years ago. 2) Crash Bandicoot: Is he reborn as well? He exists in the Classic timeline and the Skylanders timeline as well.
TheLuckOfTheClaw I'd like to chime in on this despite how late this response is. I believe that Crash like Spyro is a hero of his own. Though rather than reincarnation it is a passed down legacy. Each Crash has taken up the mantle so to say of their father
In fact from what I get this reincarnation thing was made up on the first place as Ignis did know that Spyro egg would give birth to a purple dragon on the first place. What if 10.000 years is simply time of hatching of dragons and purple dragons are simply immortal? Ignitus did know that it would be purple dragon because he did know that those were eggs of Malefor? And I say eggs because there were two eggs what Ignitus mention at one point. That is what Malefor meant by saying that there were more then two purple dragons.
There's still one thing, In the 6th Skylanders game, lore has it that beings known as ancients created the skylands. But the events in the Legend of Spyro show that Spyro, in his sacrifice, reformed the world as floating islands (aka, Skylands). So does that mean Spyro could be refered to as an ancient? or is there something missing?
This is interesting. I will now choose to see this as a head canon for this series. Seeing the spyro reboot as a story of the spirit of spyro reborn into the purpose of taking down the husk that his body once was, now taken by dark ether is such an interesting story concept. Great theory man! :)
I'd really much rather ignore Skylanders personally and just have the original trilogy and the legend trilogy as the only "canon" games, but this was a really interesting theory, I enjoyed watching it.
Skylanders itself is a shit, but I don't mean if they build around it, as it don't really do anything to Spyro himself. After all Legends are also technically bad games, just with good story.
The real answer: the concept of "Canon" is actually meaningless. They'll likely eventually make it untennable. But as a theory, it does hold up for now. Neat.
This was a really good and respectful theory about the entire Spyro series. Someone like me who had grown up with the original three Spyro games and could respect and play what Skylanders is I enjoyed this theory. But I feel like you should also probably venture into some of the stuff that Skylanders had to offer to probably well add more pieces to the puzzle like dark ether. If you haven't seen any of the cut scenes from the supercharger game from the Skylander series they introduce the darkness as its own sentient being something I think you should probably look into if you haven't really paid attention to the Skylander universe.
It's possible, but malefor states that there were other purple dragons before him as well. It's possible they are the same, but I dont think it's likely.
Couple things to add/adjust: Malefore's soul is trapped in convexity while his body is trapped at the well of souls, so his soul doesnt become reborn. This is because malefor is the other purple dragon ignitus is talking about. The first is OG spyro, the second is malefore, while you the player are now officially the third. malefor was originally the dark wizard dragon from shadow legacy, mastering the evil power and being banished and eventually having his soul and body disconnected. The writers on LoS also work on shadow legecy, too. I ADORE this video though, Im glad someone holds the same theory as me :D
Not only do I see a near 1 to 1 recreation of the Shadow Realm Sorcerer in Malefore (visually) I also hear A LOT of similarities between the Shadow Realm Sorcerer’s theme in Shadow Legacy, Malefor’s theme in Dawn of the Dragon and the battle themes from the Legend Trilogy… to the point where I got to the boss level and the first thing I said to myself was “Wait, is that Legend of Spyro music?” BEFORE I EVEN GOT OFF THE TELPORTER THAT BROUGHT ME THERE! Also, I don’t think ALL Undead are soulless in Skylanders… just the ones who were made artificially without one like Chop Chop or the ones who sold theirs like Malefore are, but there are some who DO have their souls intact because they’re still in their own bodies like Hex, Cynder, Ghost Roaster, Fright Rider ECT the ones who went to an undead realm without Eon’s protection spell, died there, and came back as themselves… as for being born an undead element, like Roller Brawl, I’d say she at least has a soul, but I’m going to put them on the “take it case by case” list
Fire Ring hopefully they’re just younger in the current skylanders games and will grow out of it- grow out of being hideous abominations I mean. They do have like centuries of life
Spyro sagas in the chronological order: Spyro, ripto, Bianca bunny, ripto's revenge, rhynocs, season of ice, season of flame, ripto's quest, crash bandicoot, red, shadow legacy,
I was ready to dislike as soon as I heard "different dimensions", I thought to myself, oh here we go again, but was actually a very interesting theory, bravo.
+Lawls thank you! That's why I wanted to skip over that point right away. It's such a cop out and it's boring. It's the epic band aid that EVERYONE rolls their eyes at when the writer puts it in. The only time it works is when it's introduced right at the start of a story. Plus, if it was dimensional this would have been a 2 minute video, 1 minute of it would be intro and outro :P don't need 15 minutes to explain that!!
If you recall in Spyro the Dragon, the very first Spyro game, one of the Dragon Elders you free from his crystal prison actually hints that there is something more to Spyro. I cannot remember the exact dialogue, but essentially implies he’s something special. Also in the back of the game booklet that came with all games back in the day there is actually an image of an adult Spyro. Or at the very least a adult purple dragon. So I will concede to your theory and allow Skylanders to be canonical.
Yep, however Spyro is the only Purple dragon with Yellow highlights. So you could say The Purple Yellow dragon is the unique dragon and the complaints about Cynder's color in Dawn of the Dragon can shut it!
I would accept this as fact. You gave great reasons for your theories and they make sense and I think hold water. And it adds a depth to the series not many have
They are both in Season 2, actually! Dark Spyro at the VERY end, though. However, that poses an odd question... particularly, pertaining to Skylanders Academy (which I did NOT expect to be actually good, and do Spyro justice). Yes, Malefor is an undead dragon king in the show, and this would connect the two storylines. However, as for the question... In Academy, Malefor is Cynder's (probably) blood father...Somehow. And to top it off, Malefor looks VERY different for some odd reason ( img00.deviantart.net/5cb1/i/2017/262/5/7/malefor___skylanders_academy_by_bctheboss-dbnwwe4.png < this is Malefor in Academy, and shows no otherwise sign of being a purple dragon at any point, or even remotely connected to LoS' Malefor. Other than being an undead dragon king, which is a stretch to say they're the same simply because of that. I don't know, maybe Academy Spyro is just a bit different from normal Skylanders Spyro in terms of lore.
1. Malefor not being purple can be a false statement. Spyro is a purple dragon, but when he turned evil he got black scales in academy. Maybe, if Malefor turns on the good side, he will return with purple scales. 2. Skylanders itselfe has 3 Franchises. Comic, Game and tv- series all licensed to 3 different companies. With this you have 3 different Timelines *AND* 3 Dimensions. As long as the TV-Series states that Eon found Spyro it is impossible to say how it is connected (which is on a very high level of possibility)
As someone who wouldn’t let go of the fact that the dawn of the dragon ending and skylanders beginning connected and NO ONE TALKED ABOUT IT i throughly enjoyed this. Honestly dude i’ve been living this theory for so long. I’ve always thought they existed in the same timeline just at different times. THE ONLY THING that i couldn’t put together is the “when a dragon dies, a page gets written in this book but i cannot find spyros anywhere” and the scene of Cynder and Spyro frolicking. BUT it causes me so much relief that you gave justification. THIS is the theory that trumps all other theories and no one can convince me otherwise. which is why i HATE skylander’s academy. it portrays Malefor as Cynder’s DAD and thats a little weird if we think about Malefor being a version of spyro. yuck! ahaha
I will say even the Skylanders academy can still be worked with it under this theory as the malifor in the show is nothing like legend of spyro's so if we follow the theory the name malifor could be a title and great honor among evil creatures and so say the shows dragon's family named him malifor after the dark master, then when he had a egg made it was the reborn soul of cynder you would have a dragon named malefor who wasnt the original malefor. Making it all fit nicely
The show’s creator basically said it’s a different timeline. Back in 2016 he was asked about it and he said it wasn’t necessarily an alternate universe but a different execution on Skylanders, which implies separate timelines.
One point you got wrong malefore was in the original spyros last game for the ds Spyro shadow legacy has a purple dragon called the sorcerer that was behind heros tales events
@@tbnrrenagade9507 no shadow legacy has the sorcerers transformed state baring various similarities to an adult Spyro and was stated by the legend of spyro team to be the inspiration for malefor though what exactly the sorcerer was based off of isn't clear plus In classic spyro being purple didn't make spyro magic help him gain his different abilities however that is probably noncanon to legend of spyro
I was skeptical about this, but you proved your point, made your case. It honestly does make sense, I was trying to conclude my own theory with my brother and a few others, but you beat me to it. Good on ya.
Nice theory. I actually thought that Skylanders connected to both the original and TLOS series for two reasons: I could have sworn the lore said that Spyro was recruited from the Summer Forest along with Sparx to become a Skylander (So OG Spro connecting directly to Skylanders) and that Cynder and Malefor are actually reincarnations of their TLOS versions, since Cynder was recruited by Spyro after he encountered her and help her out (Also connecting TLOS to Skylanders). But the only issue is that it seems the Skylanders lore kinda changes on how they want Spyro and Cynder to be seen so its kinda hard to say.
I do have a theory about Sparx. Perhaps with no apparent reason, Sparx's soul works just like Cynder's, except for the fact that he has always been there since the OG 5 games. As you can see, there are a few details that made me reflect. Sparx was not there when Spyro sacrificed himself in the legend trilogy, but he was still bound to him. That made me think that the relationship between Spyro and Sparx became a bit weaker: in fact Sparx is just an item in the Skylanders series. The only qeustion is, how is it possible that he is actually bound to Spyro? It's actually easy to think about it. Sparx has always been the health indicator of Spyro in the OG series, and that could be the link. About Hunter, I do also have a theory. Starting from Spyro 2, we always saw Hunter, and I think that during Spyro: a Hero's Tail he found a way to bound his soul with him. I'll explain immediately how. During a section, Spyro gets trapped, and you get to play Hunter and save his life. Perhaps this action made by Hunter granted him the possibility to be reincarnated, but only once, because technically Hunter saved Spyro's life only once. You'll probably ask me "why did Hunter not show up in the first two games of the Legend series?" Spyro simply explains it in dawn of the dragon when he says "Hunter... you've been following me!"
my theory is that when spyro died, he offered to connect their souls with his, the same way his is connected with cynders, just purely ethereal instead of the physical and ethereal chains
Doesn't make sense, if Malefor is the original Spyro, shouldn't he be dead to be reborn as the new Spyro? The new beginning never speaks of the first Spyro beating gnasty or ripto.
Ignitus said in A New Beginning that a new purple dragon is born every 10k years or so. But both Spyro and Malefor are purple dragons. He then stated later that Spyro was born to balance out the evil from Malefor
Central Command One could argue that only applies to the whole Purple Dragon thing in the purest sense. Like, originally Malafor would've been reincarnated, but the dark ether damaged/corrupted his soul to the point it was barely recognisable as a Purple Dragons, and that Spyro being born to counterbalance said corruption basically means he took Malafors place. Maybe idk Spyro is weird
I've always think in this. The timeline of Spyro and the three versions and how are connected, and many things that I want to know the connections, even the smallest ones. Wonderful video, dude! I always looked for some video that explain this interesting theory. I hope, if Activision wants, can explain the theory or even make it cannon, I don't know, this is really confusing, but so exciting too.
Oof I read this comment very wrong But I agree. I hate to say it but I actually kind of enjoyed Academy.. Even though I've had a burning hatred for Skylanders since the moment I had realized what they had done.
Eh whatever, I played spyro's game (The one where he was raised by dragonflies i think) And I didn't get to finish it, BUT IT WAS FUN. Skylanders is eh, not bad, not good, but eh. One thing i like is his newer design, he finally has purple wings.
I’ve always liked the idea of a former hero becoming evil, so this theory just fits in very well for me Also: Never played LoS aside from A New Beginning DS, but isn’t Cynder a purple dragon as well? I always thought so
Cynder was Black in ANB and TEN but the director for DOTD decided to have her redesigned with purplish scales for whatever reason even though she is still referred to as the black dragon in DOTD.
I didn't know that the Legends series ended like that. It's really weird. I think that the alternate universe explanation makes more sense. What you didn't take into account is that the Spryo series went between multiple developers and owners, the current ones being Activision and Toys for Bob, and I don't see them doing anything with the Legends series that they didn't make. Sure, it could be like the Legend of Zelda series, with the multiple versions of Link, but way more series use the alternate universe explanation to justify multiple canons of the same character. But at the very least, the Reignited Spyro is definitely in an alternate universe, because some of the Reignited dragons that you rescue are colored purple, and they are definitely not millennia old or from the future. Also, one of the dragons in Dream Weavers holds a trap from Skylanders, so presumably Skylanders is in the Reignited canon.
The main bad guy in Shadow Legacy The Sorcerer is also a purple dragon any use his magic to open up to the Shadow Realm and he knows about dark aether maybe he reincarnate himself to since he's older than Spyro
Okay, so. I havn't played the Skylanders game, however, there is a show on Netflix for Spyro Skylanders, which before watching this video, gave me the timeline theory. It's up to you to decide if this show is canon. The Legend Of Spyro: His origin story is made here, and at the end of the trilogy, the earth becomes floating islands (turning into the Skylanders' Skylands.) Skylanders: At the end of the show, Spyro goes into a portal to find his parents. OG: His parents aren't introduced, but there is a possibility that the dragons in the OG games could be his family. So Spyro teleports there, finds out his parents are dead, and he ends up living there forever. (I don't recall Cynder going with him in the Skylanders show) The reason he looks different may be because of the "endings": The original look of Spyro is in The Legend Of Spyro, but at the end of the trilogy, the magic he uses causes him to change his look, possibly even making him "younger." This may sound messed up, but because the magic forced him to be younger, he doesn't entirely look like his younger self, i.e. the look he had in A New Beginning, instead, the magic's effect on him made him look like the Skylander's Spyro and even effected his personality. The magic also effects both Cynder and Spyro's memory. The magic somehow worked in protecting everything that was left, however, everyone believes that Spyro did not save the world. The magic "heals" the world, but instead of it being it's original self, it ends up being a bunch of floating islands (This explains why so many characters are in Skylanders). This magic also heals Malefor. At the end of the Skylanders show, Spyro decides to go look for his parents, going through a portal (if I recall) to go find them, which changes his look again and makes him travel through time back before A New Beginning, before the dragon lands were destroyed. He learns that his parents had died, which is why we never see them. And due to time travel, the paradox causes alot of changes, such as the gardians being nonexsistant due to Spyro being the only gardian needed. Another explination is that instead of time traveling, he went to an alternate dimention where the dragon lands were never destroyed, conquered, etc. (except for Gnorc and Ripto of course) Though your theory makes more sense. Also, where the heck is Sparks in Skylanders!?
I wish developers would put the thought in on how different series are cannon. Your theory makes sense, but to developers, nah we just made a new story. I hope Spyro gets the remake he deserves!
The purple dragons from the original were just laziness. Insomnia would use the same model and just change the color in order to make a different dragon
The Official Statement from Activision is, that The Skylanders Spyro Is the same spyro from The Legend Of Spyro. Next season of Skylanders this year will release Scenes with Cynder and Malefor and probably retell the dotd Story(atleast for a moment). The whole "Story" in Skylanders Academy about Spyros past is told from Master Eons perspective. The only man who invited Spyro into the Skylands and the only one who knows why Spyro lost his memories. Expact huge lies! There is coming something huge to us!
This theory has really solid groundwork but there is 1 problem. When we start first level in Skylanders Giants we see "Skylands 10.000 years ago" and there are still floating islands so it kind of ruins the theory
There was most likely a Spyro at that time too but he was off somewhere else like the other side of the world with the other dragons and he was reborn every 1,000 years and not mentioned. Then the Spyro we see in skylanders is the 12th (or higher number) reincarnated Spyro according to the theory which also explains why he looks so much different from the other Spyros due to the passage of time.
I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE REINCARNATION TEORY FOR SO LONG! THANK YOU! I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THINKING ABOUT IT! And yes, I know that you posted this video on 2017, but still! (And also, sorry if anything was writen wrong, I'm brasilian and I still learning English.)
Question, CGE, do you remember what game first had Spyro using four elemental breathes? And what caused him to be able to use said elemental breathes? I do... spoiler alert there It was Enter the Dragonfly, and Bianca’s spell in the opening cutscene... why was that not mentioned in your theory? Give Bianca the credit that she deserves well you?!
They're all canon to each universe they're in. It's not like comics, where we switch to a new universe, and all the comics that publisher releases afterwards are part of that new canon. With 3 distinct timelines, it depends on which game you're playing, as in the OG series, Spyro2 is canon to Spyro1. No canon really gets erased. Especially when we're talking about 3 dead series. If one was active, I GUESS you could call that one the current canon. Like if this remake is so popular that they decide to make a sequel to the original games, then that could be considered the active canon. But with a game like this that's been rebooted twice, it's kind of a dumb question, movies too, bc whatever timeline gets a new sequel would automatically make that timeline the new canon. It makes sense with comics bc when they reboot their universes, every title released has to work out of the new universe, and all their separate storylines are started fresh, adhering to the new status quo of the new canon, making your favorite stories from 5 years ago, non canonical to the stories that will happen going forward, for the foreseeable future. And it stays that way unless go back to the original canon or reboot again. So I don't think canon is a thing with Spyro, except concerning different games in the same timeline. If Skylanders continues and uses him, and they make a sequel to the original games around the same time, asking which is canon would be like asking if the comic book Iron-Man or the movie Iron-Man is the real canon. Both are.
+DLKBStudios not really. A story can be crafted out of a detail that is almost meaningless in the beginning but then holds significant merit later on. The legend of spyro is what ties both original and skylander spyro together. He's the bridge. When they first made spyro they did not make it with the idea of future spin offs like legend of spyro and skylander. But sierra entertainment seems to have found a way to connect the original spyro with their spyro and all spyros going forward
Canadian Guy Eh well that was a quick response! After thinking about it the second time, i have to agree you since there actually have been several occasions (several games) where such a kind of story development took place. this was just the first thing that popped into my mind. but one link i am still missing: if malefor is right with there having been more purple dragons before him, how come the elder dragons didnt know that?
+DLKBStudios that is a great question, one that I wanted to address but it would have made the video a lot longer (15 minutes is long enough :P) So, the chronicler is obviously wrong. Remember, in the eternal night he said that Cynder was to fall to Malefor again and Spyro would have to fight her. But after spyro told her " you left me nothing to fight for" and she turned back to normal. The chronicler can only look at past events and guesstimate what will happen in the future, but spyro was the one who felt that he could control his destiny and cynder could control hers. So, how did they not see the fact that there were purple dragons before malefor? There are way too many ways this could go with only limited info. How was the world destroyer made? Who made it? Obviously even the chronicler didn't know that it existed or he probably would have warned spyro "yo bro there's a giant golem that could destroy the world, thought you should know" So there was a time before the chroniclers began recording dragon history. The chronicler even said "this library shows of all of dragon time, well most of it" So if dragon history was, idk, 100 million years. The chronicler has, let's be fair, 95% of history, well that's still most of the dragon time, but that 5% is 5 million years. What could have happened in that 5 million years? It's a grey area sadly but it's the best answer we got :)
Canadian Guy Eh well this answer does make a lot of sense! thanks for elaborating😊 i would have definitely watched a longer video but of course i understand the decision. great video, mate! looking forward to the next one! and also thanks for the discussion
I like to think that Spyro and Cynder survived at the end because they two of them together had enough strength to endure whatever Spyro did, like in the scene with the infinity stone in Guardians of the Galaxy, and the OG Sypro is their descendant and the next purple dragon. In the 1,000 years in between these stories, the small floating islands at the end of Legend of Spyro coalesced into larger ones like we see in the original (since in a lot of worlds leaving the map causes you to fall into an abyss), and new technologies developed in Avalar and the surrounding regions like portals, airplanes, flying saucers, and minigolf courses. While Spyro's legend was eventually forgotten to most, the name "Spyro" had become popular among dragons (and the same with "Hunter" for cheetahs, since that's kind of what they do anyway, and "Sparx" for dragonflies.) Despite being 10 generations removed, OG Spyro has inherited Sypro's bravery, sense of duty, and stubbornness, as well as Cynder's wit, kindheartedness, and loyalty.
Given thought about this I might need to put aside my petty skylanders spyro hate and maybe give that series a try. Though money is way too tight to try now. So maybe along the new year. But that's if the remaster collection isn't possible.
The Skylanders games can be a lot of fun, as long as you don't expect them to play anything like any other Spyro game. I suggest giving Soyro's Adventure, Giants or Imaginators a shot, those three are arguably the best entries in the franchise
here's a theory: what if OG spyro is after legend, but cynder was reborn elsewhere. malefor is an entirely different dragon with a different soul. malefor could have been manipulating all of the villains in the OG spyro's lifetime and then, at the end of the OG games, Ignitus could have sent cynder to kill him. then, during the fight, cynder and malefor could have killed each other and spyro would die as well (because his soul is linked with cynder's) and that would have led to spyro and cynder being reborn in skylanders. then in skylanders, for the comics malefor would be reborn as a purple dragon, and in the TV series, he would be an Illusion to protect the real malefor (because in legend lore, one of the dark elements is illusion) and he would be buying time to regenerate his forces, and possibly find a way to truly destroy the world. that would explain cynder not being in OG just as well as OG being before legend or cynder being reincarnated as ember. it would also explain skylanders malefor much better. as for there being many before spyro and malefor, maybe they were different dragons and were never reincarnated, but malefor was through dark magic and spyro to counter malefor. also, what if hunter and sparx were reincarnated as well through spyro binding hunter and sparx to himself while he was dead. or all spyros and all cynders could exist at the same time, much like the gods in Percy Jackson, and at the end of legend, spyro gathers all of the fragments of his consciences to unleash a divine power.
so spyro is the avatar
you need more likes
Thank you for this
Gillian Bell More like the legend of Zelda series. But yes the same thing.
Considering he masters multiple elements that others can't, I'd say it's more like the Avatar in that way.
So spyro doesn't have to be a purple dragon, can he be other animals like a cat or something???
Thanks for giving my family something to bond over!! lol
No Problem!
Because Malefor remembers Spyro because Malefor battled him as the sorcerer before
Two generations, three dragon lovers. Your family is awesome.
How is it spyro the game is coming back it possible in history page I look the time it unknown history I keep looking but no answer it a mistory page of history remains 2018 but sounds like 2022 it unknown page.
Are we gonna ignore the fact that Sparks at the end of a new beginning said “I could’ve stayed with the llama people”
SPAWNofaDEMONMJ was that an open reference to Emperors New Groove
Miss Lady Shana oh okay
Llama people?
Pull the lever, Kronk
The music from legend of spyro a new beginning always makes me want to cry. I don't know why
Same with me for the first two skylanders games. Nostalgia, man, nostalgia.
@Chapin Taylor and @ComputeTHIS
Yes!! Loved all the games you mentioned. I grew up with Legends and the first two Skylanders games were the most solid. I still have my fully maxed-out Spyro and Cynder figurines for Skylanders!
It’s mystical and beautiful.
Anybody else notice that as Spyro is glowing when he sacrifices himself, there is a frame or two of Cynder glowing before she vanishes?
As growing up with OG Spyro and playing the games after it, including The Legend of Spyro as well Skylanders with Spyro's Adventure, I do have to say that this idea of all three Spyros existing in one Timeline~
I have to agree fully with this one.
But, you’re spyro... I... but... wha?
But stories are all lies, nothing about lore connections and related canonically
@@tylorkenniston1192 or maybe Malafore was a dark sorcerer that switched bodies with Spyro and then killed him after that.
Another thing to take into consideration... In Spyro: The Eternal Night, Crash Bandicoot can be seen frozen in the ice in the first area of the Celestial Caves...
Sir Isaac But thats an easter egg that doesnt play a role in the story and can be dismissed.
But there is a Spyro/Crash Cross-over game as well. :?
Sir Isaac That Spyro must take place when Crash dies!
and he appeared in skylanders academy and none seem to remember even meeting befored, so that proves that
a.- one is non canon (both really)
and b.- that most of the spin off are just that, spin offs
You know what this means... Theory time!!
Best theory I've ever heard. You deserve an award. You have finally put all of my longing questions to rest.
Awh thanks!! I have another theory in the works, but with all the spyro news (and reviews) it’s been hard to get onto!! But I gotta make sure I get it just right :)
This is one of the best gaming theories I have ever seen or read.
Worker then gamthe
True
I agree. I also speculated that Malafor was the OG Spyro
I agree too 100!!!!!!!!!
"that's where you are WRONG!"
*Ad plays*
Please work with Toys for Bob, and give us a great Spyro Game with your theories in it.
Mind fucking blown. Huge spyro fan. Played pretty much all the games 100%. So to hear this theory. Makes it so much cooler than it already was
+Cinema Comix that's what I was going for!! I might make a part 2 to clear up other aspects I did not get to (because other wise the video would have been longer, I like capping it at 15 minutes)
Like how hunter fits into this, how Malefor recognizes spyro in the skylander series but Spyro does not know him, how the dark gems from a hero's tail ties in to the darkness etc etc
@@CanadianGuyEh In the skylander series Malefor also says that SPYRO was the one that killed him
As long as Cynder keeps getting reborn for me to love, I'm down for this theory, hehe.
I was avoiding this video the few times it got recommended to me because I thought I wouldn't enjoy it and it wouldn't make enough sense for me to believe, but this fits very well and now I really want to replay all of these games.
I really hope Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a reboot, a total one so that we go back to OG Spyro and then TFB make a true Spyro 4
2020: New crash bandicoot 4 with timeline's
Me: well well well looks like Spyro games will be all cannon after the trilogy
There's a difference between dimensions and universes:
Alternate universes are different timelines where things might have a huge difference or a tiny difference.
Other dimensions are pretty much 1D (a line) 2D (flat) and 3D. The fourth one could either be some other "directions" or simply time travel.
I’m actually surprised you don’t have more subscribers because it’s obvious you put in a lot of work and didn’t want to take an easy way out
I noticed another thing that could point towards Spyro and Cynder's souls being linked and being reborn together.
I saw the glow on her nose to is was like for half a Sec
Further proof for the connected souls, I agree
@@Shadednecros I like that explanation. ^^
@@StaticP ;)
for dragons it is likely that a generation is 100 years because dragons are supposed to live a few hundred years
There are two types of generations one being generation of the max years a human can live
A bit late, but the disappearance of advanced technology might be explainable through the arkeyans.
or:
legend hunter and OG hunter are the same hunter. my theory is that spyro also bound his soul with sparx and hunter's or .... he was resurrected by the draconic gods to aid spyro
og spyro= classic sonic
legend spyro= modern sonic
skylander spyro= boom sonic
spyro generations when
Wow, I didn't notice that lol
Spyro mania plus
god killer 98 wow
Fack u skylanders is awsome and sonic boom is pure ass
2:47 watch the lower right corner
FINALLY SOMEONE NOTICES XD
To be fair, partially blocked by the channel marker.
What about Hunter then?
good vs evil's commented the same thing, here is my reply
"hunter is a good question. A issue that would have taken longer to explain (maybe I need to make a part 2 of this video to tie up all the loose ends :p)
Sadly, there is not enough info to really answer this question with 100% certainty.
Which happens a lot in history ( see sigurd snake in the eye, the Viking named after his ancestor who apparently fought a giant water serpent)"
I think Sparx would either also follow suit or is a coincidence.
And Sparx
This is gonna sound weird but I think Hunter and Bianca actually could be tlos Spyro and Cynder.
I would as well, maybe the OG Spyro version of Cynder has let to be seen.
Skylanders is its own separate thing. Basically a reboot to Spyro, don’t let them fool you. OG PlayStation Spyro and LOS Spyro are the same Spyro. The LOS trilogy is a prequel series to the original Spyro games.
@@fulcrumflare Legend of Spyro is also a reboot, but it is possible this theory links the reboots together
I would put OG after legend because:
A. there's that theory about cynder being reborn as ember to take into account.
B. the prophecy was issued about 10 years before malefor was born.
and
C. cynder could have been reborn elsewhere. spyro and cynder don't have to be reborn in the same place. they have to be reborn at the same time, but for all we know, during OG's lifetime, cynder could be fighting another war against malefor.
Scyrina
Skylanders Academy is a different timeline
If you think about it, make for was sealed away in DOTD so you can say that he has that desire when he got out of the crystal in episode 12 it’s clear that the 4 Guardians are in the show do this all can tie together
Malefor
Design
Skylanders Academy is a different timeline then the games so it doesn’t have to follow the storyline
When I saw this I was like “wait…there are 3 Spyros?!”
The only flaw- why are there multiple sparks
Zomagedon and Hunter
William I actually figured out something for him, in the avalar level in dawn of the dragon, the leader of hunters clan says that he remembers malefor (OG spyro) when he was younger, so we can probably say that the dawn of the dragon hunter remembers him too. So this would mean that hunter either lives a really long time, or he is just reincarnated with his old memories. And as for sparx, he probably shares a special bond with spyro, kind of like cynder.
Maybe original Sparx's ancestor?
Same thing as funder
He has a brotherly bond with spyro
Zomagedon the only flaw is skylanders academy
TheLuckOfTheClaw Your point about Crash Bandicoot is well made!
The only explanation for that is the time disruptor in skylanders academy season 3
Thanks man!
Yeah I only take Originals through Legend trilogy as canon
Skylanders is its own thing
@@TheRezro skylanders is pretty good, just don't play imaginators,
it's bad.
The real answer: the concept of "Canon" is actually meaningless. They'll likely eventually make it untennable. But as a theory, it does hold up for now. Neat.
This theory is pretty deep.
+the1stMoyatia thanks, it took a long time to figure out. My wife looked at me like a looney while I was drawing out how this all worked XD
Sorry to burst your bubble but the darkness is completely unrelated to spyro.
But what if og spyro is malefor
Honestly, it's entirely possible.
Donald McRonald
I was thinking the same thing!!
It's possible, but malefor states that there were other purple dragons before him as well. It's possible they are the same, but I dont think it's likely.
Also, I dont think the games are connected. But nice video and theory.
.....
It's crazy, but possible
So Spyro is like dragon avatar?
Think about it. He can master all the elements AND gets reborn.
But, hey… that's just a theory.
AN EHHHH THEORY!
Thanks for watching.
Couple things to add/adjust:
Malefore's soul is trapped in convexity while his body is trapped at the well of souls, so his soul doesnt become reborn.
If TLOS spyro is connected to skylanders spyro then spyro and cynder really really REALLY let them selves go
Fire Ring hopefully they’re just younger in the current skylanders games and will grow out of it- grow out of being hideous abominations I mean.
May be it's like Zelda? Or avatar
No not...at all.....except for the avatar skills
@@rubendudink9968 How would it not be very similar if this theory was in fact true?
Three different Spyros all in one timeline, but at different eras.
Huh.
You know, with the right execution, that'd make a pretty good game.
What about the other purple dragons from the original games? (I recently played the first and remember at least one purple dragon that you save)
Yep, however Spyro is the only Purple dragon with Yellow highlights. So you could say The Purple Yellow dragon is the unique dragon and the complaints about Cynder's color in Dawn of the Dragon can shut it!
When your mind starts to wonder wildly about your favorite video game at 3am: this video in a nutshell
This theory is to good to be true.
+Syyr553 well thank you! :D
Syyr553 the next DAY OR TWO OF YOU WHO HAVE a lot
I would accept this as fact. You gave great reasons for your theories and they make sense and I think hold water. And it adds a depth to the series not many have
I really enjoyed this! Also, there are rumors going on that Malefor and Dark Spyro will be in season 3 of Academy!
Thanks for the reply man!
They were both in season 2... did you even watch it?
In academy, Malefor could have took Cynder and raised her so she would not be with Spyro and defeat him again
gotta love your appreciation for the series. This was entrancing. Good stuff!!!
Which Spyro is canon?
Canadian Guy Eh: "Yes."
I just got the Spyro Reignited Trilogy add while watching this.
Bless.
The fact that you physically tortured yourself by playing Enter the Dragonfly and Shadow Legacy honestly makes me question how you're still alive.
One point you got wrong malefore was in the original spyros last game for the ds
Spyro shadow legacy has a purple dragon called the sorcerer that was behind heros tales events
Yeah?
the sorcerer likely was a dragon much like malefor who learned to master, and got corrupted by, dark aether
@@tbnrrenagade9507 maybe but malefor was based off of the sorcerers final form
@@aceofalltrades1 no he wasn't
he was purely based on some fan art of adult spyro and an Idea of what spyro would be like if he was always evil.
The lore changes a touch but I dont think it would be enough to completely throw this theory out the door, I think it still works :)
True true
MelancholyJoker19
They. Are..NOT CONNECTED I WILL BEAT THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF U! !!!
We all know that everyone else is thinking:
“What about Sparx, and Hunter?”
Yo for real, Sparx is a magic item in the first skylanders game isn't he, I wonder how he got there.
@@yoshinpixels9924 thats literally what I said but you added another sentence or two
Did you not watch the whole video? Re-watch the part where he talks about Malefor being UNDEAD.
This video makes me respect sky landers more
Zomagedon ikr
Oof I read this comment very wrong
But I agree.
But why
I liked his red wings :(
And that was A New Beginning I think. I enjoyed TLoS, but a bunch of people would disagree lol..
Yea, its a new beginning, and I found it enjoyable.
Dude, his wings are so mismatched compared to the rest of him.
Finally someone has come to understand what Spyro lore came to be, thank you so much for proving so many theories wrong!
I’ve always liked the idea of a former hero becoming evil, so this theory just fits in very well for me
Also: Never played LoS aside from A New Beginning DS, but isn’t Cynder a purple dragon as well?
The Legend Of Spyro: His origin story is made here, and at the end of the trilogy, the earth becomes floating islands (turning into the Skylanders' Skylands.)
Skylanders: At the end of the show, Spyro goes into a portal to find his parents.
OG: His parents aren't introduced, but there is a possibility that the dragons in the OG games could be his family. So Spyro teleports there, finds out his parents are dead, and he ends up living there forever. (I don't recall Cynder going with him in the Skylanders show)
The reason he looks different may be because of the "endings": The original look of Spyro is in The Legend Of Spyro, but at the end of the trilogy, the magic he uses causes him to change his look, possibly even making him "younger." This may sound messed up, but because the magic forced him to be younger, he doesn't entirely look like his younger self, i.e. the look he had in A New Beginning, instead, the magic's effect on him made him look like the Skylander's Spyro and even effected his personality.
(except for Gnorc and Ripto of course)
Though your theory makes more sense.
Also, where the heck is Sparks in Skylanders!?
Supposely Sparks was gonna be playable in Skylanders
dude i have to admit, this video was actually awesome!!! XD
Thanks dude!!
Canadian Guy Eh your welcome my dude. I even started a let's play of the series too! ^^
I cant lie i was just stumbling my way through RUclips after finally trying out Reignited and holy lord you re unlocked memories.
All of my childhood dreams came true in this video, thank you.
Electric Storm! Np!! I maybe making a part 2 as well :) just smoothing out some details
I wish developers would put the thought in on how different series are cannon. Your theory makes sense, but to developers, nah we just made a new story. I hope Spyro gets the remake he deserves!
But what about the purple dragon in the opening cut scene from Year Of The Dragon? Or any other purple dragon in the original games?
Pancakes7Skunk probably just applies to Spyro and Malefor and now Cynder being reincarnated in an endless cycle.
The purple dragons from the original were just laziness. Insomnia would use the same model and just change the color in order to make a different dragon
I'm purely an og spyro trilogy person and I had no idea how much they added to him! Whoa that was a lot of plot. Great work sifting through that.
“Spyro” and “Canon” should never be used in a sentence together in a serious conversation.
No, they can. "Sonic" and "Canon" can't.
Literally Sonic AND Spyro have their own respective canon chronologies. What are you two babbling about?
@@fulcrumflare Hi there. You missed a joke. Therefore, I am obligated to r/wooooosh you
In a skylanders book Spyro said that he met eon and that eon used a portal to get Spyro to skylands
David DimensionDragon same Spyro, but it could be a different body. Hence the reincarnation
This was the most UNEEDED theory evar -- thank you it was awesome! XD
Ooooh this such an interesting theory! And with the remaster coming soon it's fun to think about all these things!
Justmaghookit maybe they'll have something in the games an Easter egg or something to one of the two other series!
This theory has really solid groundwork but there is 1 problem. When we start first level in Skylanders Giants we see "Skylands 10.000 years ago" and there are still floating islands so it kind of ruins the theory
There are a ton of other problems
There was most likely a Spyro at that time too but he was off somewhere else like the other side of the world with the other dragons and he was reborn every 1,000 years and not mentioned. Then the Spyro we see in skylanders is the 12th (or higher number) reincarnated Spyro according to the theory which also explains why he looks so much different from the other Spyros due to the passage of time.
great stuff, dude. I'll be sticking around for more
I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE REINCARNATION TEORY FOR SO LONG! THANK YOU! I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THINKING ABOUT IT! And yes, I know that you posted this video on 2017, but still! (And also, sorry if anything was writen wrong, I'm brasilian and I still learning English.)
Wow.....now everything makes perfect sence
Pretty cool eh? :)
Yes and it was one of my favorite series too..but....now is the question: who would win in a battle and withs is your favorite
12:38 If you look at Cynder she also seems to become Purple Light
This is amazing!
To me it explains a lot!
I love this theory!
Regarding the "Long dead" part: It is canonical that dragons can live for several millennia. So that argument can't really be used :P
Question, CGE, do you remember what game first had Spyro using four elemental breathes? And what caused him to be able to use said elemental breathes?
I do... spoiler alert there
It was Enter the Dragonfly, and Bianca’s spell in the opening cutscene...
why was that not mentioned in your theory?
Both are.
THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE, BUT WHAT ABOUT SKYLANDERS ACADEMY SPYRO AND CYNDER?
The Symbiote Nation I’m pretty sure sky landers academy is not canon
@@AHun-t ye it ain't
Dude, this theory blew me away. I had a hunch that Malefor was OG Spyro corrupted by the dark ether. You said it and my head imploded. Amazing theory.
this is a very nice theory! but doesnt the fact that the creators originally intented to make spyro green debunk it?
+DLKBStudios that is a great question, one that I wanted to address but it would have made the video a lot longer (15 minutes is long enough :P)
So, the chronicler is obviously wrong.
Obviously even the chronicler didn't know that it existed or he probably would have warned spyro "yo bro there's a giant golem that could destroy the world, thought you should know"
So there was a time before the chroniclers began recording dragon history. The chronicler even said "this library shows of all of dragon time, well most of it"
So if dragon history was, idk, 100 million years. The chronicler has, let's be fair, 95% of history, well that's still most of the dragon time, but that 5% is 5 million years. What could have happened in that 5 million years?
It's a grey area sadly but it's the best answer we got :)
Canadian Guy Eh well this answer does make a lot of sense! thanks for elaborating😊
i would have definitely watched a longer video but of course i understand the decision.
great video, mate!
looking forward to the next one!
and also thanks for the discussion
+DLKBStudios anytime! I love discussing these types of things :)
Sherita Matthews plz do n not watch season 2 it'll ruin your love for season 1. (That's only of your a true spyro fan..
The Skylanders games can be a lot of fun, as long as you don't expect them to play anything like any other Spyro game. I suggest giving Soyro's Adventure, Giants or Imaginators a shot, those three are arguably the best entries in the franchise
here's a theory:
what if OG spyro is after legend, but cynder was reborn elsewhere. malefor is an entirely different dragon with a different soul. malefor could have been manipulating all of the villains in the OG spyro's lifetime and then, at the end of the OG games, Ignitus could have sent cynder to kill him. then, during the fight, cynder and malefor could have killed each other and spyro would die as well (because his soul is linked with cynder's) and that would have led to spyro and cynder being reborn in skylanders. then in skylanders, for the comics malefor would be reborn as a purple dragon, and in the TV series, he would be an Illusion to protect the real malefor (because in legend lore, one of the dark elements is illusion) and he would be buying time to regenerate his forces, and possibly find a way to truly destroy the world.
that would explain cynder not being in OG just as well as OG being before legend or cynder being reincarnated as ember. it would also explain skylanders malefor much better.
as for there being many before spyro and malefor, maybe they were different dragons and were never reincarnated, but malefor was through dark magic and spyro to counter malefor.
also, what if hunter and sparx were reincarnated as well through spyro binding hunter and sparx to himself while he was dead.
or all spyros and all cynders could exist at the same time, much like the gods in Percy Jackson, and at the end of legend, spyro gathers all of the fragments of his consciences to unleash a divine power.
Damn, if OG Spyro and Malefor are the same character, that's a truly dark way to end the story of the original Spyro Trilogy.
Which is why I hate that idea, this theory is not canon in my eyes.
Mat Pat, is that you?
"Where's Nasty Nork?" Ah the nostalgia.
What about this: Ga-Nasty, Ga-Nork? I’ve heard he’s developing a spell that can tern treasure into warriors!
Ok this theory is AMAZING!!!!!! I really like the eternal lovers part!!!
