These would make amazing travel journals! You could have 1 envelope per day and then have a few pieces of paper inside to write about your day. Then just stuff in any ephemera like receipts, tickets, keepsakes, etc. And when you get home you could glue your trip photos to the front of the envelopes that match what's inside. ❤ Seems more straightforward than trying to actually junk journal while away from home :)
Fabulous concept ❤. And all the different uses for such journals is endless. As for the "damaged" papers, you could dampen them with water then iron them to soften the folds and use them for collage papers. Perhaps you could also dampen the papers and scrunch them up a few times so the paper is an overall textured paper which I know I have seen you use so many times. I have no fears that you will have any difficulty finding a use for your "damaged" papers. Great video with great advice on the use of the scoreboard.😊❤😊
Thank you for explaining why the scoreboard technique is NOT just scoring all at once!!! I always thought it was something I was doing, like not scoring in the right groove, etc…, I quit making books that required an accordion! Now I can play with it again, not getting frustrated! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
Never done anything like this. I could see "a mess" happening before I even started. You have ROCKED it, absolutely Genius. Definitely going to have a go tomorrow. Thank You 💕🏴
Thank you vers much for your very clear explanations ! I feel less stupid in front of my scoring board which tout often gives me unpleasant surprises... I'll going to tryptophane quickly... I can't wait until I finish thé current album to start !!! I can't choose one or the other, I love both and I Will try to do both... Business to follow !!! With all my gratitude ❤
I love these books.❤ I have lots of envelopes and this is a beautiful way to use them. I do use my scoreboard to make harmonica folds and they turn out pretty great. I learned that the score line you make should always be a mountain fold, not a valley fold. So I would score every inch and then flip the paper and score every half inch. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas. Best, Mirande
@creamade3235❤ THANK YOU for this comment! I was at my wits end with my project, and I watched Natasa video, knowing it would help. BUT, when I read your comment I had to try it,, and YES!! YOU saved my project, and my video. Thank you so much, and thank you Natasa for this video!!! ❤😊 I love you both!!
With the scoring board, you need to do every other score (1") and then flip the paper over and do every other score (.5"). That will gid rid of the "traveling" effect.
You would not believe what I have made out of the collective teaching you've given us. Thank you for being you and being here to share it with us! ❤ P.S. I agree that practice makes perfect!
I've been racking my brain to come up with things like this to put in a journal for my sister. Except, she doesn't want writing space but rather pockets and such , just to put stuff in. This is perfect! Thank you for yet another brilliant idea.
When they ask me on my deathbed what in life surprised me the most, it will definitely involve Natasha from Treasure Books and the sheer amount of things she taught us!
Thank you, Natasa. When I first learned how to make envelope books, my instructor had all the pieces in a kit ready for us to assemble as we followed along with her instructions and guidance. At that time (about 25 years ago) we didn't have the creasing board with all the grooves in it for creasing mountain and valley folds... we folded each crease with straight edge metal rulers and bone folders. It was a wonderful experience taught by a master bookbinder. Watching your vid as you explained so well all the details - as you always do - took me back to that first experience of mine. Thank you for the trip back, dear Master Natasa. Your work is beautiful, professional, and inspiring. 💐🙏🏽
8:48 so I would try scoring every inch on one side, and in between (plus the end one) on the other side. (Flip the paper over to crease in between the first creases.) The reason is that when you use the stylus to crease paper in the score board, the creases should be folded from the indent side outward. (Valleys become mountains) my mother has a degree in graphic design and taught me this when I was young because what happens to the paper fibers when smashing them, is that the valley side of the crease has been stretched more than the backside, and will fold more accurately. Your method is a great alternative. ❤
Sharper scoring tools help, but need a little trial and error to not tear the paper. Rounder scoring tools really stretch the paper. Also applying heavy weight on top of the finished accordion overnight makes them super crisp. Paper fibers are stretchy little things!
The Queen of Perfect Creation strikes again! Your tutorial is beyond perfection, what I love about you is that the way you reveal what not to do on your discovery upon your experimentation on your creation that’s gives us minimal imperfections as we go along doing ours. The step by step tips & guides is very much helpful . have been watching videos to get an idea how to store documents in a book or journal form, none of it catch my interest in doing do until this creation of yours. Thank you so much Natasha for inspiring me in junk journal world!😍😍😍😍
I can tell, I can tell, 😂 that you are such an awesome instructor, Nastasa! I ADORE this idea of solely utilizing envelopes to create a journal. Please know that the extensive time you have spent in the trial and error phase of achieving such "perfect" results is so very much appreciated by this follower and has not gone unnoticed. ❤
I am not a paper crafter…I quilt…but I think I may start after watching a couple of your videos. Such a great teacher with beautiful, creative results. Thank you!
I just LOVE your intros. I've watched almost all your videos and always forget to say how much I love the intros. I'll bet they take a lot of work as well. ❤
Absolutely love this idea! Love that you can take a photo and create something so beautiful and functional! Thank you for sharing all your amazing talent with us.
This is just what I need to make a recipe journal for a friend! He's an ice cream fanatic and he can store his recipes in each envelope. One for choc. fruits, vanilla, etc. I can't wait for him to see this!
I figured my accordian folds were off because I'm not careful enough but never thought of a way to fix it, thank you for figuring it out. Your projects are so beautiful and inspiring. I love that you try for perfection but move on when it's not. ❤❤❤
I'm so inspired, Documents, Book to hold monthly bills, Book for holding greeting cards, painting journal with watercolor paper, A way to use up all those return envelopes. Ya, I'm gonna be busy. Thank you for another amazing tutorial.
I owe you a big THANK YOU. I have been struggling a bit lately, and uninspired to create. This project was so easy and beautiful - I decided to do a quick-and -dirty version with a western theme. It turned out fine, but more importantly - it made me feel creative and lighthearted again. Thank you for what you do. It does more for us than you know. ❤
I absolutely love those for my office organisation and all kinds of projects. Since I was young (a thousand years ago), I admired paper shop windows and all the lovely journals and office stuff. Now, it can be so easily achieved due to your inspiring videos. That just makes me so happy and content, since journaling means so much to me. And alone to hold those beautiful creations in my hand or/ and to work in/ with them. I love all of those but love the Sound and view when they spread ❤. By the way, I have an idea for you (only If you like of course) and I am quiet sure, If anybody could work something fabulous out, than you: Pop up books/ cards/ ephemera with all kind of interactive popping up and fun stuff. I would love to dive into childhood dreams...
I cannot choose a favorite. I love them both! This is so timely for me because I am making a budget book where I also keep receipts for each week. So now I know how I am going to bind it all together. A million thank yous, you wonderful, excellent, gifted, creative soul! (I pray for you daily that you'll be saved because I want you to go to heaven when your time on earth is done.)
Wow! What great instructions!! I have seen people use the corner of something (like a scoreboard or a kitchen cabinet top where it meets the wall, if it is a 90 degree angle) and push the paper edges up to that when making the folds, of course the correct angle is so important and it has to be tall enough for all of your folds…you’re right, difficult to explain! Love the option of a pull out book or a non-pull-out book! I personally would want to see inside the pockets and might put acetate into the envelope front to achieve that. Wonderful project!! Love to combine pockets with single pages too…why do I complicate things? 💕💕💕
I woke up at 3:30 am and couldn’t quite go back to sleep. So I watch a couple creative videos and stumble on Treasure Books. 📚 Well I happen to love Treasure Books and had to see your newest creation. 😮 WOW. I am SO EXCITED about this new video of yours. I am still making a number of your junk journals about 5 months back. I cannot wait to give this a try. My wheels are turning as I savor each set of instructions. Thank you Natasa. ❤ All I can say is yippee 🙌. Looks so fun.
Our nephew is getting married next month. I'm going to make the couple one of these books to use for honeymoon memories! One for my sister for pictures and memento from the day! Thank you for the demonstration ❤
After your tutorial I can not only play an accordeon, but also fold a very nice looking accordeon myself. Ha! Love the folders, any size, and will definitely makes some. 😊
I was planning to make a document book for each of my daughters to keep important papers. This is perfect! Thank you for all your practicing so we can get it right! I really appreciate your effort and your clear explanations!
The construction reminds me of old compact photo albums. You could even alternate between clear plastic pockets and envelopes, to display some of the contents. This would be such a pretty way to display one's prints for sale at an artist alley! As always, thank you for the tutorial and for the inspiration.
I am so excited to make it! so many ideas. 1. Turning the envelopes around and add pretty pockets in front. 2. Seal the envelopes and cut the side to open horizontally. 3. Using clear envelopes may be fun., creating the envelopes using lamination sheets. Thank you so much. I had so much fun watching you. You gave an awesome tutorial!
Natasa! This is fabulous and I made one with you! I have been wanting a better solution to storage for current projects rather than boxes all over my desk. This will be perfect! Thank you so much! You are brilliant!!
I’m so excited!! What a perfect solution for my son’s school papers for elementary! It limits the amount of things I can keep (because I need to be regulated) and gives them one place to live!! 🎉🎉🎉 and will be a cute keepsake for when he has children ☺️
Perfect timing! I’ve been entertaining the idea of making the greeting cards from my kids into a book, but had no idea how to make that work. Tada!! An accordion book and now I even know how to finally fold one to perfection! Thank you for sharing your secrets!
Idea : Use a slip of paper or a straw to add some even slack to the ribbons and remove it once ribbons are secure. Love it, I bought an envelope book once in a Japanese bookstore and I love it, it's only too small. Now I know how to make more ! (Mine is a window envelope so I can see what's stored in)
I wait for your videos aaa-aall weeeee-eek lo0000-00ng. Thanks a lot for showing at the end ways to use the books and reasons for choosing openings (ease-of-access for ‘current projects’ books vs security-of-closure for ‘memories’ books). I was in shock when you showed the discrepancy of folding after scoring on a professional board. Wow. I always blamed my own clumsiness for such discrepancies, but you cured me. This is not me! Your demonstration was just perfect, not confusing at all. And I am excited, will make a couple of such books for sure!
It wasn't us, it was the scoreboard! Lol. Or at least the technique. Thank goodness for Natasha's clear instructions. At last I can achieve something with concertina folding.
Years ago I tried an accordian fold book binding. And you are so right it was super difficult to get my folds even. I really appreciate you sharing your technique. Such a professional job! I bet you can sell them for a pretty penny too!
You are an artistic genius! Everything you create leaves me like this: 😮 Every time I get bored doing the same old things in my journals you give me new ideas, so thank you so much!!
Oh my goodness...just what I've been looking for. A book of pockets. There's so much I can store in them and it'll help organize and tidy up my desks and shelves etc. You are absolutely brilliant!!!
Brilliant! My Dyslexic/ADHD Brain would never have been able to do this without you amazingly clear and easy to follow instructions!!!❤️❤️ As a historian I value ephemera , but storage can be challenging. This is the perfect way to store things upright , or flat. Great for kiddo art, important documents, project management ( wedding planner- house hunting, home improvement), and scrap paper and ribbon for junk journals and collage. Love your channel- thank you.
Hi Natasa! I would love to send you some happy mail! I have some old mail stamps that my husband rescued from a recycling line, and I'd be happy to share some with you! You have reignited my passion for paper crafting! I have had many crafting passions over the past few years but paper crafting was the start! My daughter says i have come full circle lol!
Thank you, just the project I needed. My son had asked me to make him something to hold receipts for him from his job. I have been waiting for some sort of inspiration to hit when I saw this video I knew this was the one!❤
i love the one you created in this tutorial but i also love the one where you put the scrapbook papers onto the envelopes - that looks very pretty - thank you Natasa - what a great way to organize our goodies!!! have a wonderful week xx
I love watching you create such beautiful projects. You are so gifted. You also have such a wonderful sense of humor. Thank you for sharing your creative designs.
What an astonishing video! Every detail perfectly explained, what to do and what not to do. Very professionally done. Junk journals are always a bit "wild" for my taste, but using envelopes, decorated as desired, is perfect! I will definitely try this! 💐🌺🌷
Wonderful! Thanks for mentioning that you could use the accordion for holding one paper. I have some advertisements that can’t be folded in half but hadn’t been able to figure out how to put them in a journal. This is perfect.
Yes, yes, yes I am excited and so appreciative of the time and effort you put into these videos to make it easier for others to make. You are a marvel and a natural teacher. I am looking for ideas for some gifts and of course I have found them on your channel! Thank you again Natasa.
Im a beginner ut you made this tutorial so easy it turmed out just like yours.I even made my own envelopes. Im so happy. Thank you for your sharing and thank you for just giving great tutorials that make crafting easy..
Thank you for your attention to detail and how to achieve success with the details- I find it’s these little aspects of book making and art that make all the difference to a finished work. I really appreciate this facet of your presentations.
I just watched another video of yours about a 10 question challenge. I know it was years ago but I wanted to tell you how much it touched my heart. How very strong you are... You are a beautiful soul and a gift to the people you touch. Sending you all the best and the biggest hug!
I wasn't even 7 seconds into the video and I was amazed at your creations. The accordion slide on the one journal was phenomenal. You can take the mundane and create real treasures.
💥 BOOM 🎉 WOW ANOTHER FANTABULOUS IDEA!!! Natasha, you never disappoint with your step by step explanations. Your dedication to teaching us and keeping up creative makes myself and I’m sure many other crafters excited. I have so many ideas using this method for many things ! ❤
Wonderfully explained, thank you for all the important tips and tricks. This accordion album idea is perfect for me; I scrapbook the page first, then place in the album. For longer 'stories' I could insert a 4-page signature in one or two folds. And I would use the ribbon method to hold it all together, but not until all pages were ready to go into the album so that the tension would be perfect for its bulk.
Thank you! I have envelopes with beautiful pictures on one side but the fold over is pretty too this will help me show both sides of the envelope without losing any of the beauty
❤❤❤ I love the matching papers inside the covers. I can’t choose a favourite. 😊 probably use my discarded mountain folded pages cut up as gussets for pockets
I am not frustrated, so i guess i will be making a few if these. Looks like fun and a test of determination. All designs are unique. So i do not have a favorite. Thank you Natasha for sharing with us and i really enjoy your antics.
I love this idea. So many creative ideas. Both types are lovely but I think I like the one that you can fold out flat. This would be a great way of storing my bookmarks because I have so many.
Amazing. I like both styles and will be doing this project. Very professional looking. I really will probably watch this video again. Thank you. Carol from California
Natasa, these are awesome! I love this idea! These are so versatile.....Right away I thought, using the largest one, that this is such a great idea for storing your child's school work or art work. I told my daughter in-law years ago, not to try to keep all of her children's school work, but,, to pick out the best and keep it in a notebook by year. So, your idea is PERFECT! You could make a special one for each year, and then gift it to your child when they have children of their own (or whenever you think they would appreciate it). Either way, it is a beautiful way to store and preserve these memories, without taking up a lot of room. As always, thank you for sharing your creativity with us! Have a blessed day!! ❤
You really did your research, once again, for this awesome project! I am so surprised that the scoring board did not work for this! That’s a real head scratcher! This would make an interactive journal as well! Thank you, Natasa! You are the Wonder Woman of Junk Journals and other cool stuff!!
Since I had my accident and can no longer work.watching your videos have been such an inspiration to me.i spend so much time writing to manage my depression. I now make my own journal s I also now draw snd paint.nothing amazing like your journals.but its make me feel better inside. Thankyou for sharing your wonderful ideas.
I really love this idea, thanks for sharing. I agree that accordion fold can be tricky... I use it a lot in my memory boxes. And YES to the quilting rulers! Before I started making journals, I used to make quilts, so I just continued using my quilt rulers - total game changer.
Thanks for sharing Natasha! I made one along with you and just had to pause you and rewind you a few times lol. I made the one with out the restriction on the binding and I think I'm going to make a few of these and give them to family members. It's very cool thank you. I have some pretty gold regular letter envelopes that I'm going to make some for my daughter-in-law I think she just had her second baby my second grandbaby, and I think this would be nice for keeping all of her new baby memorabilia until she has time to put it in the album I'm making her lol

Wonderful!
Oh how lovely and useful they are. I must have a go at those. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Much appreciated 😊
You’re welcome 😊 Thanks for watching :)
Your intros are always so epic! But then you support it with amazing creativity, paper engineering, perfection, etc. You're such a brilliant creator.
Thank you 🤗
Idea : Use a slip of paper or a straw to add some even slack to the ribbons and remove it once ribbons are secure.
Love it, I bought an envelope book once in a Japanese bookstore and I love it, it's only too small. Now I know how to make more ! (Mine is a window envelope so I can see what's stored in)
Love the document folder to use one envelope for each person in the family.
Wonderful! Thanks for watching.
Brilliant! My Dyslexic/ADHD Brain would never have been able to do this without you amazingly clear and easy to follow instructions!!!❤️❤️
As a historian I value ephemera , but storage can be challenging.
I love this! Thanks for making this tutorial simple enough for this elderly woman to do. I’m going to make one for making tax time easier!
This project made me say 'WOW' outloud, alone. Each of these are fantastic and beautifully made. Thank you!
Thank you so much :)
I love these and your techniques for doing the accordion folds. My favourite is the ones with the ribbons. 🌷
Thank you so much!
Love this. Your directions make it so easy. I definitely will be making these. Thank you. Thank you.
Have fun!
Thank you for sharing your talents with us! I am very grateful for happening onto your channel!
Thank you so much :)
Very nice. I like the one with the added paper on the sideways envelopes. Hugs 🤗 from USA 🇺🇸
Beautiful work. My favorite is the strawberry design. Thank you for sharing your projects with us!
Thank you so much!
They’re all so beautiful 😍 Thank you for sharing your experience so we can avoid the mistakes!! x
You are so welcome!
Yes, yes, yes I am excited and so appreciative of the time and effort you put into these videos to make it easier for others to make. You are a marvel and a natural teacher. I am looking for ideas for some gifts and of course I have found them on your channel! Thank you again Natasa.
Thank you so much ❤️
Im a beginner ut you made this tutorial so easy it turmed out just like yours.I even made my own envelopes. Im so happy. Thank you for your sharing and thank you for just giving great tutorials that make crafting easy..
These are absolutely beautiful! Thank you for walking us through the steps. Fantastic!
Thanks so much 😊
Thank you for your attention to detail and how to achieve success with the details- I find it’s these little aspects of book making and art that make all the difference to a finished work.
Spectacular projects, as usual! You are a creative genius and your tutorials are always clear, concise, and easy to follow. You're simply the best!
Thank you so much!
I wasn't even 7 seconds into the video and I was amazed at your creations. The accordion slide on the one journal was phenomenal. You can take the mundane and create real treasures.
Thank you so much :)
I'm making some for Christmas presents! The most practical as well as beautiful books I've ever seen.
You give the best instructions and I sooo appreciate the eye for detail and perfection 🫶🏼
Thank you! I have envelopes with beautiful pictures on one side but the fold over is pretty too this will help me show both sides of the envelope without losing any of the beauty
Those video openings are gold!! Thank you!! ❤
Absolutely love it!
That one I will do for sure.
Thanks for the idea and tutorial!
You are so welcome!
❤❤❤ I love the matching papers inside the covers. I can’t choose a favourite. 😊 probably use my discarded mountain folded pages cut up as gussets for pockets
I love the large document book. Perfect to leave as a "in case I go missing or die" file
LOL.
I cannot wait to try this next. I have made a garden journal using your other videos. So beautiful
Thank you so much :)
Thank you so very much for all your trial, error and frustration!! It's absolutely appreciated!! Hugs!
Thank you ❤️
I am not frustrated, so i guess i will be making a few if these.
Thanks so much! 😊
Amazing. I like both styles and will be doing this project. Very professional looking. I really will probably watch this video again. Thank you. Carol from California
Awesome! Thank you!
Just love everything you do and then you always having time to teach and explain.
Thank you so much :)
Love the fresh new idea!! Thank you! 💕
I’m soooo happy that I came across your page!! My favorite is the one with the mixed colored envelopes. You’re so gifted. 🎉
Thank you so much!!
I love this video! Your explanations are clear and helpful. Your personality makes this video a joy to watch!
