Would love to see a follow-up to this where you sit down with a collector and go through the entire collection including a comparison of quantity/value of coins that are basically face value over ones that have appreciated in value.
Yes need
I agree that would be a video I would like to watch
Great video
I bet he took them to coin star
I DO COLLECT. HE MAY HAVE A LOT MORE THERE THAN YOU THINK! THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW IS TO ACTUALLY SEE THEM!!!
Single handedly solving the coin shortage.
RIP to the previous owner.
To coin roll hunt that collection would have taken years.
They never would have just let it go, it was there passion
Was my first thought, so sad...
I was thinking the same thing, somebody spent a lot of time putting that collection together.
ocd and a love for history will do these things to a person
That's why when people say this is mine that's mine . It really isn't all of it is left behind in the end 😂😂😂

Yah, i hope he is going to do a follow up.
Yeah there could be tens of thousands of dollars l worth of coins
Thank you for the likes 👍
You are looking at 23 ish bucks per $1.50 face value of the silver coins
@@tugboat_actual it depends some are worth more then face value.
My two cents ;-) - - I'm glad to see that you did not break open the encased coins. I've seen too many you-tubers do that kind of thing, and IF the coin had value, then it just plummeted the moment it was opened.
Kudos for wanting to get proper valuation.
My guess of this collection, it was someone who was just a step above a basic novelty collector. Maybe someone who inherited an existing collection and followed up on it for a while, then lost interest, or had health or financial issues and couldn't continue (or continue to pay the storage rent).
An absolute gem of a find for any basic collector.
I'm 12 years old, from Ireland, and I've been collecting currency for 3 years, I think it's such a good hobby! If I had those I'd actually suffocate of happiness lol.

How does it feel to be verified
Being a coin collector myself, this video is like watching a fantasy dream come true. Most of the pennies & nickels you showed are pretty much face value. But, any of those dimes, quarters, half dollars, and any dollar coins 1964 or earlier are 90% silver. At today's spot prices, just the silver content alone in the pre-65 dimes is $1.70+ a piece. And, even the half-dollars that are 1965-1970 are 40% silver. Really cool poor man's collection worth thousands of dollars. That's what you found. I did see, just in this video, enough to pay the $3,000 you paid for the locker. So, you certainly made money. Great video! Thank you for sharing.
Now thats a GREAT Deal !!!

That 1916 dime could be worth thousands if it’s has a Denver mint mark.
A cashier at work found a 1916 dime. I've been collecting 40+ years. Turned the dime over........Philadelphia. Very fine .👍👍
Lol when you called the walking liberty half dollar a peace dollar, I just had to laugh a little
same.
Came to see the coins, got so mad when you found antique guns and has them destroyed. Bro, wtf.
I mean why would he do that
They can earn good money selling the guns
Except the holster one, they were all definitely made after 1898, guns manufactured before 1898 are termed as antique guns, meaning you don't need an official trading license to deal in them, unlike guns made after 1898.
@@rejuvenatingsoul3498 Ah ok
Thank for telling me
Was there an update on the coin collection?
He's a soy boy.
The Coin at 7:23 says: "Otto, King of bavaria" and the other Side says: "German Empire 1913, Five Mark" (Mark ist an older Type of Coin that was used before the Euro has been introduced in 2002 and it's equal to Five Dollar)
Near as I can tell, these go for about $10-15 dollars and up, depending on how worn they are.
The excitement in your voice man, keeps me watching haha. good video man!
Indeed
@@theelectrocompany777 yes, yes indeed
The big German coin you found is a 1913D Funf Mark (5 Mark) in what looks like VERY well condition. It would be great to see a follow up video on this collection to see what a coin specialist says about it.
Hey Dan, I'm a coin collector, and those Benjamin Franklin half dollars are priced at $12 each, while the Walking Liberties can fetch up to $50! You're really fortunate. Once you fill your coin book with all those cents, you'll have $100. By the way, all coins before 1964 are silver. I also noticed that you can already grade the coins and determine their value with those red books in that box. If you've seen, the Jefferson Nickels are war coins, and they're all silver too. Just by looking at those boxes, I can tell you didn't waste your money. However, be aware that when PNG grades your coins, it's going to be costly. So, don't expect to get a lot of money after grading. I wouldn't be too confident about letting someone grade your coins for a fee. Just grade them at home with a book.
Just so you know anything 64 and older is silver except for the nickels and pennies nickel silver is 42-45 and keep all pennies older than 59 those are your coins that are worth a lot more than their actual US value! Hope this helped you
Exactly!! 👌🏽 I coin collect from time to time and the other day I got a silver dime when I went to go recycle cans and bottles and was like “Yup, automatically a keeper!😌” haha
@What's Inside no problem btw I loved the video and I am super jealous because I have a collection and wish I could get stuff for that cheap 😂 anyway nice finds
There is a penny that is sliver and I do not remember the date, its worth a cool mill.
@@SupuhSel First of all, hi, I have the penny of the 1985 year, so if you want to buy it, you can write to me.
I remembered the show "Storage Wars " when i saw those lockers 😌🥺🥺

yah i wahtched it
Watching you guess that nickels from the 50s and 60s have silver content was priceless. That's only war nickels from 1942-1945
watching you comment this even tho there were 1950 1960 1940 so there was 1940s LOL
Watching the comment section more than the video LOL
But they do have nickel in them.
Alot of nickels are collectable. Probably many worth more than the silver ones.
@@zinknot actually know, something as small as a silver half dime sells for $43,000. But then again, those are extremely old and rare. But a 1960 silver dime sells for around $9 but even a 1920 nickel will only sell for like $3
I’m a coin collector, this is amazing.
As a coin collector myself. I can easily see a $20,000 - $30,000 collection just from this video alone. If you take your time to find the right coin experts, your in for a full scale home run. Well done on a marvellous find.

The time effort this person has put into this collection is just shocking
Well he got his money back for sure 😊
@@rebeccamiller3600 I don't know if you are being sarcastic, but I think Faizan is talking about the person who initially owned the collection. He lost a lot of money, as he left all those stuff just in a random storage unit.
Yep that's a coin collectors paradise
Being a collector myself I see no where near $10,000 worth of coins there
Finally a person who isn't either lying about stuff (like "10:25, 17 million dollar coin") or some person with bad grammar saying stuff like "for sell $400"!
Mate, that is a collectors dream. To have that in my or anyone’s collection, I/ they would be so pleased.
The dime box basically paid you back for the unit
How do you know
The one with all the 1964 and before dimes was all 90% silver dimes. Which is about $1.8 per dime.
Yeah looked like at least a grand in silver there
Crushed the like and subscribe buttons! So awesome and thank you so much for sharing!
By now, you must have found out that all the dimes, quarters, and half dollars dated pre-1965 are worth about 23 X face value, due to the fact that they are made of 90% silver.
Amazing find! That box with all the pre 1964 dimes are worth at least 2000$. You’re definitely making your money back.
that spider that you found worth alot too, lol
I love the way he just shakes and throws the valuable coins around.
Sincerely speaking investment in crypto and forex trading is easier when you have the strategies and knowledge, I tried trading but lost totally. I advise you place your trade with an expert who knows how to trade.

Great find... A dream find. I would of loved just finding the Revolvers and Derringer.
I’m so envious of your find! That is a coin collectors dream come true!
Definitely go through them all. Dont get impatient and just sell them. I use to collect alot of coins. Some depending on when they are made can be worth 1000's of dollars. Also depends on where they were made as well. I'd definitely pay an appraiser to go through the whole collection. You could potentially have over $100k in coins. Potentially more. The guy clearly knew what he had. Looks like he took very good care of his collection. Minus leaving them in a storage unit.
I’m a coin collector and I would have to say this is upwards of 40,000
When you value coins you really need to look at the coin see if it’s rare and it condition and silver content. Coins are difficult to value at times. I buy and sell coins.
Sir, you are not a coin collector. Watching these videos as a real coin collector makes me laugh/feel sad for non-collectors that get so excited over old coins they think are worth something. Sure a silver dime that's now $1.80ish is a huge profit from 10 cents, but a box of a few hundred is not thousands of dollars. It's funny, because everyone of these videos, there is always something more interesting that they gloss over and you want them to look at longer.
@@MrRowskey I agree with you in full.
@@MrRowskey actually a dime is more around $3 in junk silver, a quarter is around $6 and a half dollar is around $10 now a days.
I think this a rough estimate just based off what we see it could be way more or way less
I would love to take days of my life just to go through this collection
10:28 im in pain after he just called that walking liberty half dollar a peace dollar
All I can say, being a coin collector my self, is silver, silver, silver........ nice find & good eye.
Chris from Missouri
what you should do is bring only a few to get inspected at a time so they don’t see you with a lot of coins with a lot of value.
As a small coin collecter, this is a dream come true
13:30 these rolls usually go for around $100-150 anywhere. nice find!
the halves go around for around $12 a piece
(64 and earlier)
the silver quarters go for around $9 a piece
the dimes go for around $4 to $8
Reminded me of Doc from Back to the Future with all his money from different times 😂😂😂😂
I used to do that, you can go trade cash for rolls of half dollars to pull the 90 and 40% silver from them and take back the rest.
This is a lifetime collection of a person. So much effort and passion.
Would love to see a follow up on this! Total value, special pieces, etc! Awesome find!
Everyone be checking their loose change now
I don't know how that works and what's valuable so even if I looked I wouldn't know what I'm looking for lol.
Dan you need to do a follow up video! Them coins are very rare!
That’s a mega score. You definitely made your money back with all those coins
I love collecting coins
POV: You are looking in the comment section to see if someone knows the value of the coins, but you failed as they don't have the time to comment
I’d love an update to this! How awesome!
That's my dream unit.. a coin collection. A friend hit the jackpot and had a dream unit like urs, full of coins and jewelry. Congrats. I'm super jelly
I would've loved to find this. I'm early in my coin collecting career and don't have much, and I could've turned the face value coins into unsearched (hopefully) bank boxes and that would've been fun.
I wish I had that many coins I’m a coin collector and those are good coins
Each silver dime is worth 2-3 dollars for a Mercury dime. 2 dollars for a Rosie and 3.95 for the silver Washington quarters. The silver half dollars until 64 they are 10 dollars. And the nickels from 41-45 are around 2 dollars for the silver content. The 1800 coins you should get checked out for there value.
I think Mid-1942 to 1945 nickels are 35% silver. You can tell by the mintmark on the reverse above Monticello. Also, Kennedy half dollars are 40% silver from 1965 to 1969 and 1970-D and 1970-S proof I believe.
Wow! Fantastic Find
Just WOW!
That bond book is worth so much!!! All of the unstamped spots can be cashed in for their current worth (which is probably 5-10x). Because it’s an old book, $1 then could easily be $100
Oh man, the collector could die in his own tears...
Once in a lifetime timd find! congrats!! Hope theres some real gems in there. Looking forward to seeing the results.
AMAZING FINDS! Those coins are a collector’s dream find or even buy. I know it’s been a year since this video but I’m curious about what the value is and what you did with them. Send me a link to those videos please ! I’m hooked!
The silver is there and definitely worth the most. Everything else is generic change and worth nothing above face. The old Jefferson nickels from the 30-40s may have a key date and be worth more but not generally. Had a decent amount of silver, 1964 and before is 90% and Kennedy halves from 65-69 is 40%. Decent lot but cutting it close coming to profit. I’d have to see the coins closer to determine rarity and value however. One may be lurking and yet unfound. I do not know enough about stamps to comment about them. Sad to see those antique firearms be destroyed. History right there.
I’d even buy the collection from him, but the chances seem fairly low. Would be nice to fill out some nickel albums for the kids.
agree about the guns. In a previous video he said that he could not keep any guns he found in a storage locker. I would love to know why. I mean, I know that in every state handgun ownership is restricted by certain laws and in CA they are very strict but still, if there's a specific reason I would love to know what it is.
@@rickcimino5483 If I have to guess, it's probably because the storage locker auctioneer isn't a licensed gun dealer, so they can't legally "sell" those guns to him with the storage locker, or to follow the procedures for gun sales.
Also, the police would likely also be interested in knowing about guns that are involved in a crime and would likely confiscate those as evidence for the criminal investigation.

Meh, it's common sense when valuing things to have different people and people you trust look at it. Some people for sure want to undervalue and then buy it off them.
@What's Inside Now my comment lost all credibility... 😂

Finally after Dan losing so much money on these storage lockers, he finally scores a big one!!!
Most of the silver dollars tend to go for 30ish bucks US. If you can get a $5 gold piece in good condition can go for around 650-700 dollars US
If you are still viewing this, the stuff, on the surface, is mostly post 1900 American stuff, a large quantity of which is silver. The bayern coin is a pre ww1 German Empire Bavarian silver reichsmark coin from 2-5 marks judging by the size. Overall a quality lot of coins. Definitely worth getting it reviewed but the books themselves could provide lots of insight.
