Living in northeast Indiana my first 68 years of life, I've eaten at the Das Dutchman Essenhous & the food is delicious. This video brought back such good memories. I moved to Texas 3 years ago. Growing up in Berne, Indiana, I was accustomed to seeing Amish buggies, all open air, not covered buggies, as that was too "worldly" for the very conservative Amish community. Congratulations 🎊 to the bride and groom! I'm from east central Indiana. There are many Amish where I was raised. Last visit home, we went by my maternal grandparents former home. I wanted to stop by and ask if I could take some photos for our grandchildren to see. The lady of the house came out about the time I got half way up the driveway. She was going out to feed her horse. By her outfit I knew she was Amish and immediately apologized for intruding. I don't think she believed my story. God bless you and your family!
Congrats to the lucky couple. I currently live in Northwest central Indiana (Lafayette IN) but was born and raised in Pennsylvania and where I was born and raised there are alot of Amish. I have alot of respect for them. I adopted my boy kitty from a lovely Amish family in bloomsburg Pennsylvania.
I am 15 minutes from Middlebury. Elkhart and Lagrange county have large population of amish. I live in Millersburg and our elementary school is 95% amish. The amish in our county are very liberal amish.

Awesome,, I don't know when this wedding was but it would have been fun to have you guys over for a meal while you were here in Indiana...... our oldest daughter works in one of the RV factories... Essen haus is a good place to eat😊,, we have been there a couple times❤.. we live bout 2 hrs southeast from there.. The reception meal... did they have Haystack? Our son Marvin got married the 2nd of August and we had Haystack for the meal... Thank you so much for sharing this with us ❤hope you made it home safely😊
