I gotta say after watching your unboxing vid yesterday, along with a few others channels, I fell in love with this thing to be my first Arrma RC car or truck. It’s SO inexpensive. Handles well, is stable, durable, and just looks really cool. I liked it so much in fact I ordered the RTA kit online last night and can’t wait for it to get here. 😁 I usually would have bought the RTR version as it was the same price, but I really wanted the black one which only seems to come in the kit right now. Regardless, even though I’ve been in this hobby since the mid 90’s, and this is geared towards an entry level truck, I just HAD to have it! At the price, how could you go wrong! Great video!
I ordered a pair for my my two great nieces, the greatest rc reviewers I have ever met. But at 8 and 9 years old, and both got Maxx V2s two months ago, I hope the newness will impress them. Both have many packs through a couple of stock Xmaxxs in my yard.
This is definitely gonna be a blast with a arrma 3s system. If my granite voltage is handling the 3660 3200kv motor on 3s with its 48p plastic spur and slightly skinnier gears in the diff space, then this has to hold-up no problem. I see a hobbywing g2 80amp esc and 4000kv motor in its future 🔮
Its wild how many people are turning a blind eye to this because its 2WD, this is easily the best skatepark basher we've seen from a major company, its built like a tank and and ready to fly.
I know you will hook it up… why not? It’s relatively cheap to make that thing even more fun! You could probably do it with stuff you have laying around 👍🏻
Losing that Nimh absolutel brick of a weight and going to a lipo is such an improvement. Add the increased c rating and cleaner power of lipo and there’s a lot improved.
I was very skeptical about this one I normally tend to steer away from 2 by dig but I think I'm gonna have to give this one a shot esp for the price I think itll be great! Thanks for changing my mind joe!!

You said “midnight pumpkin” and it hit me hard. I googled it and yep it’s the same exact truck he just painted it orange. Man…..wow 😂
I watched a video where a guy bought this for his son. He immediately called it a piece of crap. He added shocks so stiff they could hold up an actual truck and swapped the wheels to hard foam filled and then broke it two very small jumps into a session at a skatepark. He then labeled it crap and said he was going to toss it and get his son a Stampede. Now, I'm no RC expert but I have done a shitload of off road in full size vehicles. Now, when we set up my buddy's prerunner, I don't think soft tires and soft suspension kept us from believing in the build. Wouldn't you know it, having a couple feet of suspension travel and airing down the tires allowed us to jump his Silverado all day long with minimal adjustments and minor repairs required. Again, I am no RC expert but the second I saw him throw those shocks on his Gorgon I thought.. "Well, he's done ruined it now.". And I was correct. He took out 1000% of it's pillowy cushion and then slamed it on concrete from 15ft up. He did a bounce test. When the Gorgon flopped on his desk he said something like "look at that junk". Made the changes, droped it on the table, it acted like a a Super Ball and he was all "that's more like it" and then murdered it in two really crappy jumps. Oh... and he lost the tiny bit of air controll by tire swapping and promptly did a faceplant with it on concrete. In conclusion, I have seen idiots ruin these by "improving" them and then I have seen people play hard as is and properly upgrade. Mine had been here for 3 weeks and I love it. I might be getting the brushless itch...
6:36 Ole cat was kicking up more sand than the truck did, 😂🤣 He even sprayed a bit of a roostertail when he cut behind the wall 😂🤣 Hilarious 😂 I have to say I wasn't a big fan of this truck from the first several reviews I watched but it's actually starting to grow on me, I think id definitely buy the kit version and put in my choice of electronics, Just my 2 cents worth 🤷🏻 lol
Really great idea having everything concealed wished they would have concealed the motor so no dirt got into that area. I just believe in no dirt in the main drive gears.
Midnight Pumpkin was my dream rig when i was 11 or 12,ended up with a Kyosho Doubledare kit tho,which probably was a better choice. I have a feeling that arrma will put out a 4wd upgrade like they did with the Vorteks boost. Gorgon seems pretty cool so far
This chassis cannot accommodate 4wd. It's like trying to run 4wd on a stampede 2wd chassis. The vorteks 2wd is actually based on the 4wd chassis minus the driveshafts and front diff.
It's definitely too slow for me now but if I was still a kid that would be an awesome first rc for the price. I know there are some Amazon rc in this price range that perform better but I don't consider them to be hobby grade. 🤓
I've got a couple Amazon rigs and they aren't bad. They are definitely hobby grade, but you have to wait for parts from China. But if you get the right ones they are absolutely hobby grade. (Hyper Go, Haiboxing, Hosim, Bezgar, DeeRC, all good stuff for the money)

Andthe gears in it were little smaller in the transmission and spur don't have a slipper and is also 48p witch tend to not hold up well with brushless power. So ya this will take brushless perfect.
Why do people wants to add a brushless combo this will cost you the price of a granite / blx3s the goal of the gorgon is to have a cheap rc to bash and break 😂

I put a battery strap around the battery house.dont forget about the wheelie bar 😮😊.

Just went brushless motor on my gorgon 😅tons of fun stuff.

My gorgon has been brushless swapped. Installed rear arms off a Typhon for extra width. Tmaxx tires LOVE it

I haven't tried front yet. But rears was direct swap! Less rollovers now. Wheelies ALOT better - finds balance point nicely

U will clear the jumps if u put a 19 tooth pinion in it it was night and day with the granite voltage
19t is too big you will overheat the motor and poor punch . Stock is 13t so I'd say 15-16t pinion max. That would get you to over 30mph.
