Glad to hear more flowers this year. Your stone reminds me of large rectangular rock at the entrance for people to dismount off their horses in the 1800's.
Ahh, this must be the "unpaid intern" I've heard tell of. She's a great assistant! And she's going to remember this time spent barefoot in the dirt on the farm working with dad so fondly. Not enough kids get experiences like this anymore, and this is invaluable to her! Love it!
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG Ha! I saw other people say it, so I took their word for it! I figured they knew something I didn't! Either way, she's great and this experience will do her a world of good and provide no less fond memories for her!
Love your helper. Those days are the best ones! You are very patient, and she will have lots of great memories. Can’t wait to see the beautiful flowers.
Awesome! I sent you zinnas, sunflowers, and the Love Lies Bleeding, it is also called Amaranth, and is as old as the Aztecs and Mayans. It was a favorite in Victorian gardens. It's seeds are edible and it is a complete protein, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and it is a favorite of pollinators too! I can't wait to see everything you planted growing and blooming! ❣️❣️👍👍😊🌻
Robert, Love the flower garden alone the road side. Those driving by may have had , a stressful day. Your flower garden will make their heart's smile. LOL the dogs sneaking a peek...🥰
Good thing you've got your supervisor, Annie Dog, out there checking things over.😉 Your assistant is a doll.☺️ Love seeing her working barefoot - that would have definitely been me back in the day. She's mastered that tractor!🚜🙂 I'm excited to see your flower garden up and in bloom. Sell some pix of it maybe??🤷🏼♀️ Probably have to see, I'd suppose. You're working so hard and diligently on the OBF and the progress truly shows. It's a beauty already!
Awesome video. It's nice that your lovely daughter is helping. The flower garden will look pretty like it did last year. Thank you for sharing. Brings back fond memories of growing up in a small country town in Texas. Best wishes to you and your family. 🤠🐾🙋🌻
Wow, I can’t wait to see those beautiful flowers to show. The Zinnias looked great last year n continue to grow well over its time. I’m anxious to see the Love Lies Bleeding that Sondra sent you. I’ve never heard of them so can’t wait to see them. From reading her comment they sound amazing n are edible. I just planted some type of Zinnias that are edible. The 7:27 y say you can put them in salads. They’re called Persian Carpet. ♥️♥️👍👍🌟🐾🐾
Robert and Company, Zinnias are great we have them in our back yard, lot's of color and size variety and they bloom all summer into the fall.! I think Sunflowers harm plants grown around them if the soil is wrong and they are too close to others plants. They produce a growth inhibiting chemical. Dandelions grow really well:) Cheers, Rik Spector
I've never seen a plow like that. Based on the title I was expecting a regular plow on the back of the tractor. With that you would plow once and then disc once, and it's done. Or buy a large rototiller for that tractor. Interesting that there was a curb there. That sounds strange for out in the country.. Anyway I'll be interested in seeing the flowers when they bloom, since I didn't see them last year. Good to see the kids learning.
The young lady is a woman after my own heart. I love to go bare footed myself and did all the time in CO when I lived there. Unfortunately, I have Sweet Gum balls during the spring and stepping on one or more of those barefooted is dangerous. Hurts like heck. I can even feel them with tennis shoes on. Eventually I want to cut them down or reduce the number of branches but cutting ttrees down can be expensive. These are too tall for me. 80 to 100 feet. I can't wait to see your garden. I've have mine going. Do you have pictures from last year? I haven't see a video or did I just overlook it when it was in full bloom? Disclaimer: I am prone to senior moments.
I saw that your apprentice had WHITE shoes on when she started doing the root clump extraction process and I thought that white isn’t the best colour for that job. She immediately came up with a solution and took the white shoes off but then went barefooted. Getting the dirt out of her foot skin is not going to be an easy job either. Perhaps the next time she’ll wear darker shoes or workboots. Anyway, it looks as though she has done a good job and is enjoying it.
Why don't you mow that awful grown-up yard ? Before you do anything else. If you are behind because of health or other reasons you are wealthy enough to hire someone to do that for you . Your place is the most grown up yard ever.
Dang, it’s news to me I’m wealthy. Why don’t you worry about your yard, and I’ll worry about mine. Actually I think I’ll let it grow an extra inch and call it the Betty Stewart memorial yard.
@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG she thinks your yard is bad now??? Doesn't she remember the privite and wisteria jungle???? Funny how other people know what's best for you. Carry on!
What a fresh addition to your videos! Her photo bombs and expressions at close up are hilarious!!
Glad to hear more flowers this year.
Your stone reminds me of large rectangular rock at the entrance for people to dismount off their horses in the 1800's.
She has a great teacher on learning plowing etc…can hardly wait to see the flowers growing..
Thank you Robert for sharing all the wonderful things you do❤
Thank yall
I think educations kids on something like this is very important and special.

Gotta love a true country girl who is barefoot !! LOVE IT !!!
I was just thinking she shouldn't be wearing white shoes when she went over and took them off. Way to go!
That is going to be a beautiful area soon!!🌼🌻🌼
Best way to garden. Barefoot !!!
I love gardening barefoot , plus it helps ground you with the earth and good for your immune system
That's a farm girl right there! She took her shoes off! ❤
I never realize how close to the street the house is. Love the flowers in front of your house.
Didn't talk her long to ditch those pretty white shoes!
Good job farm assistant!👍💖👍😊

Your farm is beautiful, Robert. The flowers are going to be gorgeous there.
I loved it all, from the music, to the sky!
Gotta love the puppy supervising!
That rock looks like a carriage or mounting stone. They have them here in front of the old houses. Just a thought.
Awesome. Nice job. Blessings from Michigan.

That soil looks so healthy and rich it should be able to produce some beautiful flowers!
Can't wait to see all of them bloom! And I'm sure the deer do too, hahaha
😂
Beautiful Assistant with you today. I can't wait to see the flowers this year. Great job to you both.

It will be beautiful 😊🙏
❤this
Looking forward to seeing the flowers
Awesome newly prepped garden area.
You got that flower bed plowed and disced smooth. The flowers will be a good pollen source for the bees and honey for the OBF.
Looking forward to another season of flowers. Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.
Cute!
Great work.😊❤
Man I wish I had your energy! Flowerbeds and gardens are a lot of work. Your place is really looking good! Kudos!
Thanks a bunch
It's gonna look great! 😊
I think so too!
You are a non stop worker
Kudo's to your helper, she's funny 😂
Great Job 👍
Hope you don't leave the weeds in the gutter. You need to let water flow when it gets really wet. The garden will be gorgeous. Best wishes.

She is hired
with a sloping ditch bank it should be easer to mow and keep clean.
Great curb appeal 😊
Have you still got the chickens and turkey ?.
Wonderful! How's the cat?
Good, good. Living with me now
Don t leave those weed clumps in the ditch. They will grow down there, too!

Robert, get your poor assistant some boots before she steps on a bunch of snakes 😅

Good job and do you hire your farm hands out😊🇺🇸
Haha you’ll have to ask them 😅
Put the stone alone the fencing
Going to redo all the fencing
Are you sure that “rock” is not a headstone…? Considering the indention an’ all?
Yeah
How about an update on the chickens?
They’re running around today!
Iris...
Is this the same young assistant that helped you last year?
No
Who is your helper?
Old Byrd Farm middle school intern
Where is cat?
Living the good life at Robert's home.
What happened to Miss Vicki?
She’s just doing her thing, she was just teaching me the basics of starting
Clops? Must be a Georgia term. Clod is the normal term.
I either said clods or clumps 😅
That's not a plow, it's a cultivator.

@@JohnMarciaShackelford I know right lol It’s just grass and weeds, ain’t nothing a bushhog won’t handles.
Where is cat???
Cat has retired from the farm and is now a house cat at the city house. Robert said he'd do a bit of video on him sometime.
Cat is now Robert's house cat. She is no longer on the farm. 🎉🎉🎉🎉
What they said 😅
