  • How to use a dial indicator and homemade tool to adjust injector lash on a Cummins ISM or late M11 where you must set them at the bottom of the stroke. I could not find a good explanation so I recorded the way I did it.

The “hydronic” system he refers to at the beginning is if it’s equipped with an engine break. Also the injector rockers will have a 21mm head instead of the flat.

No lol I have this same motor with a Jake. The step is a whole different set of injectors. They use hydrolic pressure to work

A good evening see you in my time I was asking can someone make a video or can you make a video of what it is like to adjust a valve and inject a settings or can you send me the procedure of what it takes to make adjustment to my ISM valve and injectors

I found a manual online and downloaded it. The procedure is the same for any engine with jakes pretty much. If you cannot find a free download you can sign up for cummins insite from Cummins quickserve online or buy the manual on ebay. You can use the M11 or the ISM manual as the only difference is the injector adjustment procedure.

you bottom out the injector with the set screw and back it off two flats, no need for a dial indicator, you have jake yoke/bridge but your injector set screw should be a hex instead of a flat screwdriver, the jakes operate off of the injector hex head and while they may work a bit they are not working properly

I tried to explain the way Cummins wants it done. I guess you could do it just by bottoming the stroke and backing it out and maybe it will be in spec but a dial indicator is the correct and accurate way to do it, especially for someone who does not do this every day. This engine has jakes but they are not installed at this point. That is a separate adjustment.

@@martinbuysabus932 if you read in your instructions you will find that bottoming out the injector twice and backing off two flats is in the manual, your missing a part, this engine has had jakes installed on it, the injector lash screw is hex for jakes, flat screwdriver for non jake engines, it did not come factory with jakes from cummins.
