Those are good trucks. I ran the heck outta one just like it for years, They're awesome for what they're built for. A bit of a turtle with something like a 2500-3500 dually on the back, but they will get it done, just load them front first or the front will be floating. lol. I've done it many times. lol. As for the rusty cross members in the bed, just weld in new ones right next to the rusty ones and cut the rusty parts out. I also towed my Pro Sport 2550 twin-engine boat and trailer on it, one of the axle hubs seized on it and I drug it up backward on it and towed it 10 miles at around 25mph. lol. It was WAY overloaded with about 10ft of boat and trailer hanging off the back, I was thinking I was going to jail for sure. lol.
Maybe you should find a decent cab and chassis with a bad engine, transfer your wrecker bed to the truck and install your new motor! that wrecker cab is hammered!
Bruce try Vander Haggs. They are a used truck parts yard. I saw a bunch of cab shells for 2000.00 see if they can sell you one with all the components still in it. Locations in few states in the midwest. If you don't want to mess with the whole truck.
I respect the honesty of showing the prices of the trucks in a previous video. I wish you nothing but success with your new venture as I will keep you in mind before purchasing any and all parts!
You may want to contact J.C, Smith. He has a RUclips channel called JC Smith Projects, and he rebuilds, repurposes, and also parts out lots of trucks. I ll bet he can help you out. Bill. We cant wait to see how far you grow your business. It looks like its taking off like a rocket and were happy for you.
Bruce, I thought it was cool that those little kids were there chatting. That little boys that man's number one driver don't forget. That looks like a good project that rollback you bought. I drove hundreds of thousands of miles in rollbacks. They're very handy good luck on your project Bruce. God bless you
Well Hellboy is already taken by wrecker Rick (Murphy's Diesel) but reborn from fire is what a Phoenix does so maybe you could do something for the name there
There’s usually shims or wear pads that takes up the slack and prevents excessive movement in the wheel lift. Also the slack in the controls can be adjusted with shims and tightening the bolts on the control rods
Check your beverage distribution company. They usually use that same engine and frame for their delivery vehicles. A lot of companies use the freight liner M2.
Hopefully you can sort repairing the loom, that would be a great truck for recovering for vehicles but also things that need to replace things you get for your used parts company
Hi Bruce, don't you have enough projects on the go at the minute 🤔 how's the Black Scania doing and what happened to the white one 😳 But can't wait to see the new Scania unveiled over there 👍👌
Better put them boxes on order from Merritt it's important get that bugger looking right 👍👍💪💪💯 and buy some new Alcoa wheels polished real nice I mean it's got to look good you know bro
Must be lots of trucks with flooded and bent con rods in the hurricane areas. Take your time and patience to find the right one for you. Lots of box trucks come with the chassis and cab as a combined unit.now so take care. Going b6 a quick view I got from it, it looks like the earth lead overheated because of its lack of a good continuity. That one is a chassis earth system so the heat generated by a bad earth system would probably had the lead really hot. Anything with an earth lead on it starts to carry the load of the main earth lead so the fire starts. Try asking around insurance companies in the bad weather area or even transport companies in that area.
@@edwardlemus9483apparently you've never moved Towing equipment from one vehicle to the other if you buy a longer chassis is move the axle forward and cut down the drive shaft the pivot part that the bed pivots off of you take off the old chassis
@@RINEYMOTORSPORTS sure sure whatever you say but these chassis are built to spec for each application so why the fuck you gonna take a different chassis modify it and slap a jerrdan or century bed on it . bet you would not have the slightest idea how to weld the tabs on where it's supposed to mount hoping you got it square . also i have done that taking a 2019 m2 chassis that had been involved in a rollover and a rear ended 2020 m2 heavy lift truck putting both together by swapping the good cab .
"Is that the guy in the cowboy hat back there hidin?" Man, I would to if I met one of my favorite ppl in RL lol What about those plain jane trucks you had? The ones with an engine an chassis only? You could just slap a cab an rollback with those right?
One thing I really would love to do, so its an idea for you guys is if you can keep the frame, find an old truck cab, talking something like a 1940's GMC Northern or a Dodge COE truck, use that as the cab and build the rest.
Apparently you didn't watch the video the truck is burnt to death high mileage the motor is torn apart and all the cross members in the bed are rotted out
Thanks for another great video Bruce and crew we have a great selection of M2 trucks here in Oklahoma City Oklahoma I will get you a good one just let me know your budget
@@RINEYMOTORSPORTS I live up north and that's exactly how they look at that age. Ole Chris got a helluva deal! Lol I hope Bruce can make the Phoenix rise from the ashes!!
naw this is wild.. I just started repairing a truck the had a bad brake fire at work this week. feels weird to see another burned truck show up on youtube
and at the end they are looking at penske trucks... I will say if you are looking for cab forward parts penske may be a decent option depending on the sale inspection level they did, but overall we replace so much over they entire life of the truck to keep it relatively nice for rental and lease customers you have a lot better chance of finding a more complete / less damaged truck which will have a lot more resalable parts after you take what you need. Find a level 1 or 2 truck and everything you need is going to be there and working.
Hey Bruce I have a better plan, if you make the white Scania and you put the bed of that freightliner on the Scania then you have a great special truck as a rollback and no one has such a truck in America
I watch A RUclipsr called Diesel Creek. He shops a lot at Ritchie Brothers auctions. Every time he has gone there to find something they showed a lot of Penske box trucks. You mentioned maybe one of those. Just another avenue to look at.
Why not buy a Penske truck that runs and remove the box and then pull the rollback off the one you have and put it on the running Penske? That seems like it would be cheaper and faster.
Rising out of the flames/ come on guys it has to be 'Phoenix'. Love to help but we don't get too man M2 Freightliners in the UK. In fact 'Freightliner' a freight train company! But that looks a great project.
First, inventory the engine parts and see if it’s worth keeping this engine at all, then go from there. If you’re gonna be $12k into parts, might as well get a complete Penske truck, swap the cab, engine etc. over and call it a day. Your frame should be built for that bed, no sense in separating that. As for the m2 bodies, they hardly changed from 2013 to current, other than the new 106’s having a complete new dash assembly

I say keep it, just remember with all new undercarriage your still saving money, use and get your money's worth on it,it's great for little cars.
Richie Bros. auctions usually has a lot of those trucks.
I have purchased 3 in the last year.
The Mack cab would look killer on the rollback,
I was just going to suggest that lol !!
Maybe you should find a decent cab and chassis with a bad engine, transfer your wrecker bed to the truck and install your new motor! that wrecker cab is hammered!
Awesome flatbed toe truck 🚚 Ms Bruce 😊 glad to see you put this together bro.
Call the flatbed " The Phoenix " The bird that got burned and rose from the ashes ! A symbol of immortality !

I would call it Phoenix like a Phoenix is reborn from its ashes
My thoughts exactly
Yup! "Reborn from fire" is the literal definition of Phoenix.
I respect the honesty of showing the prices of the trucks in a previous video. I wish you nothing but success with your new venture as I will keep you in mind before purchasing any and all parts!

That's a great truck to rebuild. I watch thar video all day. Good stuff

You can probably make some neoprene bushings for the under lift
Nice new project , looking forward to see it turn out to be a sweet fine Tow truck ✌️

Firewalker! Badass

Put the rollback on the cabover
I mean the white day cab i think that would make like real nice rollback just for the turning radius along
I would have to agree 💯 percent, I'm thinking that would be the best way to go
That’s a real good rollback bed right there Bruce, you won’t have an issue moving stuff with that. I’d say century is one of the best out there
Can be a big project, make it a build series when you guys start
Fire Bird, Fire liner

You should call that rollback Phoenix. Came back from the fire to live again
My 2 cents. Buy the best cab motor chassis. Put the roll back on it. Vin number nightmares end. Sell the box for storage unit or as is.
only problem is that back half has the pivot point for the rollback part it's a shorter chassis better off cab swapping it

Buy a Penske truck with the same wheel base, remove the box bed and put the rollback bed on the Penske chassis and the PTO. Easy.
Every Jasper engine I ever installed either leaked oil or ran rough ( never could figure out why) or both. Sun engines is another to avoid

A good name for the roll back is "smokie" 🤔😂😂
Phoenix would be a perfect name. Reborn in fire, just like the mythical Bird.
Bruce you have those trucks you bought engine and frame but no cab and hood? So now you have a cab and hood and the tow kit to go with it
The Rolling Fireball
Good flat bed
Apparently you didn't watch the video the truck is burnt to death high mileage the motor is torn apart and all the cross members in the bed are rotted out
Bruce when will u drop a video restoring the 2nd blue collar cabover project iam waiting to watch it bruce
Sold it
This guy could be a founding member of the more money than brains club. Buys alot of projects that never happen.
Like?
Make sure the Penske truck has a pto on it. My company has already explored that option but finding a box truck with a pto is rare in my area
Buy a good tight ride& drive truck, cut and splice the frames ur done!
Mack Cab on that frame !!!
Thanks for another great video Bruce and crew we have a great selection of M2 trucks here in Oklahoma City Oklahoma I will get you a good one just let me know your budget
Can you take an old cascadia cab and hood to put on ?
This flatbed is CLAPPED OUT from front to back! Lmao! 🤣🤣🤣
That flatbed must have lived up North for a while with all the cross members rotted out that guy was happy to see that damn flatbed leave his yard

i seen a nice on jc smith projects last video dont know how far he is away from you but looked a nice cab
Hey Bruce 🤔 you just got a ton of those running NEW frames ...CONVERT IT OVER... make the challenge easy👍
Fire deck 🔥
Use the box for outdoor storage
Jc smith is the man for this job
The phenix 😊
En Fuego Blanco!
The Bomb Fire
Pheonix The TowTruck or Phoenix Century

JEEZ having to deal with Ryan’s barking spiders 🕷️ 💨💩and his mess boy I don’t know !! 👍🏻😎🇺🇸🦅😂🥸🎃
Hey Bruce I have a better plan, if you make the white Scania and you put the bed of that freightliner on the Scania then you have a great special truck as a rollback and no one has such a truck in America
we had to tow my roll back once with a 1 ton service truck loaded on the bed and it worked fine from the back
I watch A RUclipsr called Diesel Creek. He shops a lot at Ritchie Brothers auctions. Every time he has gone there to find something they showed a lot of Penske box trucks. You mentioned maybe one of those. Just another avenue to look at.
Fire ball 🔥

It would need to be double framed most box trucks are single
Hey Ryans learning to give Bruce sh*t this could get very funny viewing
@@ryan8456flatbeds are not double frame trucks
It needs a PTO.
I’m with you on this
Rebuild the rollback and keep it its nice to have if your car or a friends car breaks down you dont have to pull a trailer around town to save them
I hope you can use the rollbacks to your fleet after u get it fixed Bruce fire ball the rollbacks
Buy a penske take the cab off and you can have a yellow tow truck also you should make it custom like black dog
You should find a old classic cab and put on the rollback chassis.
I like the new project
Another project that will sit 😂😂😂 I’d look at swapping the bed versus fixing that truck
That Honda looks more like a 420 rancher which is fuel injected. 2007+ model. Really good units I had 2 of them
Cowboys old truck the body would look great on there

Love to help but we don't get too man M2 Freightliners in the UK. In fact 'Freightliner' a freight train company!
But that looks a great project.
Put a 9 speed manual in it. Plz
Hi bruce what about smokey for the fire damaged trunk
The Fire Back
The Pheonix......or, get an air brush job on the hood like the super chickens and call it The Flaming Eagle
👍
we been using copart for long time for buying camper and boats some vehicle it is fun to do that
Hell raiser, LOL. take the rollback part off and install on something else similar.
Got to be phoenix
Just get another flat bed truck and put the roll back bed on it that to me saves time
Call Malones towing . They have several of those . Not far away from you . A couple hours east in TN .

You can buy low mileage, older firetrucks dirt cheap. Id take that bed and build a cool truck like Heavy D built on a firetruck chassis.
You and cleetus need to race your rollbacks when you're all done.
I got almost every part ya need here in lexington
If you buy one and it has a box on it use the box for your storage room or your son's clubhouse
Can give u some pointers hook and book from the rear easy money
Ghost Ryder!
You can check with your local school bus company, see if they have any buses that they’re selling. Just swap the engine and harness
I'll look here in Pennsylvania Bruce I'll see what I can find
How about a cabover towtruck
Y’all need to buy the four wheeler that’s a price that you can’t beat right there
If he didn't buy it before this video came out somebody else is going to call that towing company and buy it
