I just discovered your channel a couple days ago but ive been watching your videos back to back for a few days now. I really enjoy your approach to these videos. Very methodical, thorough, clear explanation of techniques, no rambling tangents, and just pleasant to watch and listen to. All the best to you and hope you dont change a thing. One of my favorite channels!!!
Good video! I have this ratchet in 3/8 drive U.S.A - VR - 44995 and it is very strong and the slimmest profile quick release that I own. Now I know how to take it apart and clean it. Thanks.
I believe at that time the Matco ratchets were made by Armstrong, so of the Danahar companies this would probably have been made in the Armstrong factory. Either way you're probably right about these being from the same factory as Matco of the era.
I have the ones after the usa made and they are still super nice. I want to buy rebuild kits for my older craftsman stuff which I think I'll find a usa rebuild kit for as a backup, but even the non usa version is one of my favorite ratchets I own
For a newer Craftsman Ratchet i have to say it is a good quality ratchet .. Great video Mr Snap Ring Man enjoy the weekend bust out the Black Label Beer and enjoy yourself
I picked one of these USA versions up for $5.00 last summer. The guy didn't know what he had.🤣🤣...They did make these in China or Taiwan for a few years when Danahar moved all their production overseas....Then when Eddie Lampert went to work on gutting Sears out, they quit selling them altogether.Sears also offered a 84 tooth "Premium" USA built ratchet.Totally different design and style. And they too command high dollars on Ebay.....This 60 tooth ratchet and the 84 tooth that I just mentioned were probably the 2 best ratchets that Craftsman ever offered before they went under......Good vid.👍👍👍👍

I'm glad you like the videos, I appreciate the feedback! Many Thanks 👍
I've got the 3 piece set of these. Rarely use them, but they're some of the best craftsman ratchets. Mostly I use gearwrench 120xp flex head now.
Yeah Gearwrench has really moved up👍
I had all 3 sizes of these about 15 years ago, and my tool shed got robbed one night. Sad day, by an ex employee
Sorry to hear you lost your good stuff
Can the paul fit the older ratchets
If you mean can the later Taiwan made pawls fit the earlier USA made ones from what I heard they don’t
Will matco gearwrench guts fit in it maybe even husky
Good question. I’m not sure 🤔
That's a nice sealed head ratchet! Like the plastic tweezers, I have a bunch of them form the kids school project.
Yeah I got those tweezers at the Dollar Tree. The were part of some set. I just bought it for the tweezers lol
Love the video. I think it’s better quality than the Taiwan version. Thank you for the content
Thanks for watching!👍

Glad I could be of service👍
You probably mentioned it and I missed it but who makes the Matco ratchets?
At that time I think Danaher owned and was making Matco tools.
Great video as always.
I appreciate that👍

Hey thanks for the info. I didn’t think about Armstrong 👍
Cool ratchet man, thanks for showing that to us--might have to keep my eyes peeled on Ebay for one of those!
Hey thanks. There was a USA and a Taiwan version. If you’re looking for the USA one make sure it say USA on it👍
