They know they’re too big to be hated so couldn’t really go heel the traditional way. As much as some people look back on the two man power trip as a cool period in wrestling, I think Austin as a vicious heel beating up Lita, JR etc just didn’t work at all. People didn’t want to see it. The comedy in and around the second heel turn just about saved it.
Kurt was so entertaining and you just knew he was legit. He was funny and could be funny insulting his rivals or being able to look silly and laugh at himself.
He was one of the best “amateur” wrestlers but also did huge stunts and worked with weapons in the ring. He was really funny on the mic and in segments, however, he could do serious storylines just as well. He’s a wrestler that could be put against The Big Show or Rey Mysterio and still make the match believable.
Don't let all the recent news about Vince drown out the man clearly has a big heart and cares for his talent. The man provided many of us with golden childhood memories and entertainment and every single fan that went to see shows live had a great experience. Questionable creative in the modern age sure, but don't let that and the controversy completely bury all the good the man has done for this industry we all love.
