Update: it ended up going OK. Made a few mistakes and my leg was absolutely spastic but other than that it went well.

Probably the best explanation of the tricky bits I've seen - sounds exactly as played on the original. Great stuff! I think the outro has snare only on beats 2,3 & 4 though, not every beat as you said. But what do I know... ?

Great tutorial! My ears keep hearing the triplets in the first part of the post-chorus as leading with the floor tom: FT-RT-BD with the hits on the toms with the same feel as the flam on the snare. Anyone else hearing that?
little trick that i can not get right myself is that on the post chorus the high hat closes after the kick not at the same time like you did.. but else great tuto
Only shit I wish I could add is a 4 count before each example to make it easier to play along.

I struggle a lot to get this open hithat (cisle right?) at the end of verse mesures, it's really confusing with the double kick that needs to trigger a the same time. Any advice welcome 😊
Yep, to get that sizzle focus on when the hi hat foot comes DOWN rather than when you want the sizzle. So in these verses bring the foot down on beat one of the next bar and you should end up with an open hi hat on the "and" of beat four! Hopefully that helps!

The fast kick in the chorus and a few of the fills are definitely a bit more advanced!

am i the only one who can't play the chorus beat slow? like the way the hands move just doesn't work for me cause when i play it i use the bounce of the stick to get the second hit
Use your fingers to control the bounce - that way you can get the second hit no matter what the tempo!
LearnSomeDrums actually on that topic, what's the best way to practice doubles. My doubles on my right hand (dominant) are great but I can't keep them consistent on the left for my life or get the technique down

I couldn't either, and then I realized it was because I was thinking of the snare and high hat driving the beat. Once I switched to thinking the kick drum drove the beat and I snuck in the snare and high hat, it was so much smoother for me
