    The equipment I use:
    Drums: The drum kit I am playing here on this video is a Mapex Orion. Its a 6 piece drum kit. Tom sizes 10, 12, 14 and 16.
    Cymbals: The cymbals are all Zildjian: A series...
    Moongel: I am a fan of moongel on all the drums. It dampens the sound and makes it more punchy... If you have a problem with overtones, definitely give it a try...
    Microphones: I use Audix microphones
    Bass Drum Pedal: The pedal used here is an Axis longboard.

    The drum sheet music shows a hi hat hit with the snare on 2 and 4. I don't think I've seen anyone actually do this though (for this type of beat), they leave the hats out to keep the alternating pattern going with their hands (they just hit the snare, usually with the right hand, instead of snare with right and hats with left).
    Is the sheet music wrong here? I think playing it as stated in the sheet music would be tougher, and not add much here. Maybe that is what the little > denotes by the 2 and 4s?

    • @rockyvsrambo82
      @rockyvsrambo82  7 месяцев назад +1

      You are correct. You only play the snare on the 2 and the 4. No High Hat on the 2 and the 4.
      Keep up the great work!

    This song is very easy. I don’t know why everyone makes a big deal out of it. You can slow it down if u want. Almost of the time,,when bands record music .,they speed it up in the studio. Then. Slow it down live.

    • @rockyvsrambo82
      @rockyvsrambo82  Год назад +1

      Hmmm... Loud high hat. Without actually going ahead and replacing the high hat, you could actually practise the idea of not playing the high hat as loud. Try play it with half the height and volume. (Perhaps even have the high hat more closed than open too..) Rather, put more volume into the snare and bass drum... Try it out and see if this helps...

    are people learning this by ear?

    • @rockyvsrambo82
      @rockyvsrambo82  7 месяцев назад

      Hi there...
      There are 3 types of learners...
      1) Those who learn best by watching. (visual)
      2) Those who learn best by listening (auditory)
      3) Those who learn best by doing. (kinesthetic)
      In truth, we are all a combination of all 3, but we each generally have one that makes the most difference for us...

    • @Jepleg
      @Jepleg 7 месяцев назад

      @@rockyvsrambo82 yea. lol like i know that in terms of music some people can learn a song using perfect pitch but that doesnt apply to drums lol.
      anyway sometimes it could be hard to figure out what the drummer is playing. for example if i listened to a crazy drum song i couldn't do it. so i was confused how others do
      BUT i probably dont have enough experience cuz i am somewhat a beginner

    • @rockyvsrambo82
      @rockyvsrambo82  7 месяцев назад

      @@Jepleg It gets easier as you start to become more aware of patterns that show up again and again. However, some drummers play things that make you have to listen again and again. In the tricky situations, its great to listen or watch at a slower speed. To be honest, thats what I have done when learning a lot of parts to songs. In addition, I would practise it at a slower speed also. Then, once I have the idea, then I would practise it faster.
