I love you ladies' videos and tutorials. I purchased a pottery wheel on a whim a couple of years ago and self taught myself pottery via RUclips and videos like yours. I did take a few lessons at a pottery studio, but I really learned on my own by practicing on my wheel outside on my patio. Not that I'm anywhere near good. I love to also hand build pottery. I'm obsessed and ready to get a kiln now after having not lost interest in pottery.
    Thanks for all you share!

Yes I would love to see the process that comes after this. Like how does it dry and do you fire it and how and what types of paint do you use. I have chickens and ducks and would love to make these

Things made with clay are fired in a kiln at different heat settings based on the type of clay. After the clay dries for a couple weeks it is fired at usually around 1828-1945 degrees in what's called a bisque load. After that the piece is glazed. Glazes are basically liquid glass and come in many brands and types. I use Mayco and Spectrum glazes. After the piece is glazed it is fired again to 2167-2232 degrees. When it is cooled down it is done and ready to use. It takes time to make pottery and needs to be done right to be food safe. Very cool. I wonder if the original egg carton could be used to fire a Raku glaze in a campfire?

Do you account for shrinkage at all? I would think forming over the outside of the carton would give a better size for the egg cup with shrinkage

This is what I was thinking. I made an egg tray then realised it shrinks. And came to RUclips for a tutorial but they've done the same thing ahahah so now I am lost

Hello! I’m using natural clay but it keeps either cracking while I’m working with it or sticking to my surface and rolling pin. I also can’t get it unstuck from the egg carton! 😭 please help!!

I did this but the shrinkage is real! It went from a normal egg size to a quail egg.. lol . Also when I would start Molding the circles the clay would stretch too much and break! =/

Thanks for sharing. I wish the video was angled to show your work instead of your faces.

I couldn't see what you were doing. You were on the edge of the video and just saw your faces. You are lovely girls but would still prefer to see what you're doing.
